This is odd question but how much crying will the counselors tolerate in babysitting? Do they kick them out after 15 minutes?

My 2 yr old went to "school" for the first time today. She cried from 8:00am until 10:00am. A full 2 hrs without taking a break! She cried until she went to the playground and then finally the teacher saw what she looks like with a smile on her face. I called every half hour to get updates just so I could get even more nervous. She then napped after lunch and was happy when I picked her up at 1:00. I am bringing her to school 2x week so hopefully by 9/7 she'll be handle Flounders Reef better. Most kids cry for 20 minutes and then they are fine but not my little one.

I don't know the exact answer to your question but I'm pretty sure they would not let a child cry for that long in Flounder's Reef without paging the parent. Hopefully your daughter will have adjusted to pre-school by then and the transition into Flounder's will be an easy one for her.

Enjoy your cruise! :)

Hello! I asked this same question last week! My daughter is also 2 and we will be leaving on Saturday. The reply that I recieved was that you could tell the staff that you would like to be paged after a certain amount of time if she is crying or in an emergency only. I will let you know for sure when I return. My daughter screams when I leave her at the daycare in my gym and they only let her cry for 10 minutes before I have to pick her up. Last week we tried again and she did much better. Hopefully she will be fine on the trip. All we would like to do is go to Palos.

Good Luck!

I asked the person in charge of Flounders back in 1999 and was told they will page the parents after 30 minutes if the child hasn't stopped crying by that time. I don't know if that has changed over the last 3 years.

After going 3 wks at preschool, I hope that she'll only cry a short time. She loves Disney so hopefully the nursery will hold her interest and eliminate some crying. We also want to at least go to Palos. I wouldn't leave her to go on an excursion. I would worry to much about her and if something happened to us on the island. Let me know what happens with your child! I wish you luck.

I too tried going to the gym months ago but after 15 minutes, the babysitting staff pulled me off the treadmill to tell me my daughter was hysterical. So what did I do? I stopped going to the gym.
