Okay, I admit I'm clueless. I guess we have a Mexican/Caribbean type night on our 7 day cruise and I was wondering if anyone has suggestions about what to wear and where to get it cheap?
Obviously, we can just come in our boring normal clothes. We were at Ross and Target and didn't see anything that looked that interesting. We live in Orlando. My wife and I have a date-night Saturday and we could go out looking for something fun to wear, but I'm not sure where to look.

Are you on the Eastern or Western?
On the Eastern Tropical night is the evening of St Maarten. Most people get their 'island' clothes in St Maarten because you can get them there very inexpensively.
I am not sure when the tropical them night is on the Western.

With what I'm hearing, a lot of people wait until they get to St. maarten and buy something there.
Macy's has all their Jones NY and Ralph Lauren summer sportswear on sale 1/2 price or more off, and they had a LOT of tropical prints this summer. I also saw some on sale at Nordstroms and Bloomingdales.

We are doing the Western route. I'm not sure which destinations we go to before the Mexical... night, but it makes sense to look around for stuff on the cruise.

Or, it could be a great excuse to hop over to Mexico at EPCOT :)

Before Mexicali night on the Western, you are in Key West and Grand Cayman.
We wore hawaiian print shirts, and our boys had fun tropical shirts.
I'm sure you could find something fun in Key West if you can't find them onshore beforehand. There is tons of shops in Key West.

Living in Orlando I am sure you could find some Tommy Bahama cloths. They are very nice.

No clue about tropical wear, BUT Foley's has the BEST sales!! They have all their summer clothes 50-75% OFF, PLUS if you go during the Red Apple Sale, you save an additional 15% sale or clearanced items!! I LOVE Foleys. It's the greatest store, IMHO..

There is always Ebay too. I am sure you can find some inexpensive fun clothes there.

I agree, Tommy Bahama has great tropical shirts for men. Fresh Produce makes great, comfortable tropical clothing for women and children. Both can be found at Nordstroms.
Like everyone has mentioned before, you can purchase something at St. Maartens or in Cozumel for the tropical parties if you don't mind waiting til then. I purchased a Fresh Produce dress in St. Maartens last year, but it cost the same as the ones sold here in the states.
Have a great time!!!

Thanks. Your reply was helpful. I was thinking they might not be any cheaper even in Cozumel. I knew they wouldn't be cheap in Key West!
I'd really like to find one of those big brimmed hats on one of our stops so I could wear it while snoozing in one of the deck chairs on ship.

Bobby,
Funny you should mention wanting to take a hat! I bought a great beach hat at a Liz Claiborne outlet store ... couldn't wait to wear it on the cruise!!! Welp, I never felt like wearing it!!! It was a pain to pack to and fro, so it wouldn't get smashed. I saw a LOT of people wearing there beach hats in the airport, probably for the same reason ... no room in their suitcases!!! I mostly wore visors on the cruise.
Oh well, hope you find a nice hat .... and hope you'll WEAR it!!!

I got matching Mickey hawaiian shirts for my DS and DH that they plan on wearing on the cruise. I'll probably grab something for me at Hilo Hatties.
