Has finally been solved. (http://www.fredericksburg.com)

NBC announced on TV at 3:00 that they had their man. Too bad he took his own life before he could be questioned.

I've never seen a Sheriff break down and cry like that during a press conference.

Not too bad, Blondie, he should be burning somewhere just about now...

At least family and friends will get some sort of closure now. :( How horrible for those poor girls, the girl who got away in June and the families of all involved. :(

Hmmm. I read some of the articles written about the case. It seems as though he's another sexual preditor that was turned loose in our society to once again prey on our children. :(

I was just reading about this minutes ago on a news site. Blondie, I now live in Northern VA, but I used to live in Lake of the Woods. We lived there at the time of the murders. As a matter of fact, I was attending Germanna Comm College, where the mother of the Lisk girls teaches. It was very scary knowing that guy was still out there. I hope this makes everyone feel safe again - or at least at little safer knowing this one is gone. I haven't heard any mention of the Showalter-Reynolds woman. I was hoping this guy was the same one who killed her, too. Did they mention on the news is if he was the "Route 29 stalker?"

Tina, at the 3:00 press conference a reporter asked about any connection to the Showalter-Reynolds murder and they said that none of the evidence they have can connect Evonitz to that case.

That means the Rt.29 stalker is still out there.

This is the first time I've heard the story. I read many of those stories on that link.:( Sad doesn't begin to describe how I feel.:( I just hope the police didn't make another goof like they did in the Silva case.:(

Shannon, they've been holding off releasing any info on their findings until now....I am confident that Evonitz was the man responsible.

Patty Lisk, the two Lisk girl's mother, after being told about Evonitz/the S.C. girl who got away, felt very strongly about him being the one. That poor family lost both of their daughters, their only children.

They are beginning to heal, little by little, day by day and have adopted two small girls, from Cambodia (I think it's Cambodia.)

For two years, I worked with Sofia Silva's sister Pam. She felt terrible guilt because she was in her bedroom reading at the time Sofia was abducted. She couldn't believe that it happened while she was inside and didn't hear or see a thing.

Those poor families. It's amazing the 15 year old girl escaped, he was surely going to kill her as well.

I hope he is burning in hell where he belongs.

Finally. This has been a long time coming and is quite a relief to those of us Virginians who have been following this story for so long. I agree though...suicide was much too easy for this piece of trash! I feel for the families involved. Blondie...I didn't know the Lisks had adopted 2 children. That is a good thing. Sigh.......
