It will be interesting to see the differences with the new ship - so excited! The 2 bummers for me, unfortunately, are the rooms are a bit smaller & the queen beds are NOT convertible to twins...:sad1:...but other than that, the new ship looks fun!!

I am going to look again today. We were able to make the reservation for the first night on board, but I booked a table for 2 and a table for 1. I would be just as happy skipping Palo but DH wants to go.

I looked up Palo just for the heck of it the other day and they were all booked up. We didn't plan to go there anyway -- since this is our 1st, we figured we'd check out all the regular places first!!

I asked hubby about excursions - he said he'd rather just relax on the boat.

For cruisers with kids, something I did on our first cruise that was fun was I purchased plain white pillow cases and using computer iron on transfers, put a disney design on them. When we boarded, I dropped them off at guest services and they had the characters sign them and deliver them to our room on the last night. One word of warning, even thought they use sharpie markers, they will still come off on your kids face at night! lol :rotfl:

It's just a busy time for all of us I guess. Thx for the info about reservations. We had decided to do Palo on the 3rd night, since that was all that was available for our party of 3 & I think we get it free now that we're Platinum, but not sure...

Yep, we are going to opt out too I guess, since it sounds more complicated with the gate issue I mentioned...boo. It really is a fun thing to do so I hope as it gets closer more will opt in!

Our air fare rates *finally* dropped some, so it paid off to wait a bit to purchase. We are still feeling crazy to fly from Calif. to Florida for 4 days, but it will be the only time we can do this as a family since DH19 is slaving away with college all the time now. Will have to make every minute count.

My DD12 just finished making her FE. It's the 3rd project that she has sewn on her own and she did a pretty decent job. Hopefully, it will make it through this trip as she picked out the pretty fabrics, not the sturdier fabrics. Either way she's had lots of fun.

Already anticipating all the fun and planning on when I can work in another cruise. Have already talked extended family into booking the Wonder in Jan 2012 and paid our deposit (being all on the West Coast everyone liked the idea of leaving from LA). That's so cool. An extended family cruise sounds like fun!! I haven't been able to convince more than a couple in my family that it's a great way to get together & still have some separate time whenever you like. We're on the west coast too, so after another flight to Orlando this June (got a great rate for the ebta), it will hopefully be ONLY a west coast sailing from then on! So excited about a boat out here finally!! :yay:

Just a quick note regarding dinner attire. I spoke with DCL today and they said that Night 1 is casual, Night 2 is pirate and Night 3 is dressy, but not like a formal night like on a 7 night.

I am beyond ready for a vacation, not that I am actually ready. I still haven't packed a thing. Funny...our first cruise I was packed two weeks ahead of time! LOL :rotfl:
I can't wait to sit on a deck chair with my book and umbrella drink :umbrella:and do absolutely nothing!

I've been posting on CC and wondered where everyone was for roll call. I just found out! I did not know about the DISboards until tonight. We are really excited about our upcoming cruise. It will be me, my DH, my DD (11 y.o.), and my DS (also 11 y.o.). My kids are looking forward to meeting other kids at the Edge. I wish we'd found you earlier! See you soon.

Hope everyone had a great time!! I missed the meet due to a change in my salon appointment, which was due to a change in our excursion, which was due to me getting my times wrong...... :lmao:

I do hope to meet you on another cruise, since this one slipped by waaaay too fast & I was derelict in my cruise meet duties!! We are going on the ebta this year, so while I'll miss that amazing concierge lounge & services, I'm happy to be back to our old friend, the Magic. :]

Gotta say....wasn't the first glimpse of the atrium amazing?

We booked on board for next spring break on the Magic. We had lots of fun. Thank you again, DisneyFreak1, for setting up the FE. My DD and I want to do the exchange again the next time we cruise.

The koozies were fun!!! I purchased blank koozies online. I found a place online that sells rolls of heat press plastic and cut the shapes and letters with my cricut cutter. My friend has a heat press, so I used that to apply the letters. It was fairly simple but time consuming. If you try it, just be sure to buy the neoprene koozies. :hippie:

We just got back from our vacation yesterday - and I wanted to say THANKS for all the FE goodies! JacksGirlz, OMG, almost daily presents! The kids had fun delivering our bags, and I had their pictures on each of your doors :) Loved seeing the magnets on the doors, and was surprised that there were very few on our cruise.

Sorry for missing the MEET, our luggages were delayed. We didn't get them until after lunch in Nassau, and so we weren't able to freshen up. Also missed our PALO reservations that day, we can't go there in our shorts :(

Hope we'll do better next time!

What a bummer about your Palo ressies and about the delayed luggage.
We had so much fun with the FE exchange that the rest of my family (so far we have 4 cabins booked) wants to do it for our Jan 2012 Mexican Riviera cruise on the Wonder.
