We are looking at getting a 5th wheel. We thought about taking it on our DC trip (hopefully next summer). Now we need to know some good camping places just outside DC.
We would want full hookup, water, sewer, etc. A laundry matt and swimming pool would be great too!!:D We would also need away to get to the metro from the campground.
Geesch we sound fussy...don't we!!!

Any recommendations for us????

Thanks!:D ;) :p

Yikes, I live here in Washingotn and don't have the foggiest idea where one could camp.

I'll also see if I can find out for you though.

Ok, this is what I remember from a conference I had in DC a few years ago.

A group from the conference rented an RV, and did find a campground, BUT it was about 45 minutes an hour away and they had to drive to a METRO station which had a park n ride. They parked the car at the Metro station, and then took the Metro in.

As for the 45 minutes / hour, I'm not sure if the metro station was 45 minutes away, so you have to take on Metro travel time, or if it was say maybe 30 minutes away, and a 15 minute Metro travel time...

I want to say it was in Virginia, but I am not sure.

There was nothing in DC city area though.

I'm sure there are tons of good camping places in Shenandoah, but I doubt you'll find any that will transport you to the Metro. Its hard enough for us commuters to get to a station. The DC area has a horrible transportation problem.
