View Full Version : Just spoke with PBF...(Updated)

Mr. PBF is out of surgery and is doing well. As they anticipated they didn't have a lot of real estate to work with in putting in the new leads for the pacemaker. They will conduct some test tomorrow and go from there. As Pam said they've gotten over this one hurdle, but there may be more to come.

I will keep you all updated as I get more info. Shamrock and I will make sure that we do whatever needs doing (even if it means an IV Margarita drip for Pam;)) Pam thanks you all for your thoughts and prayers...

Thank you all so very, very much. It was a long day - things took much longer than anyone expected and we're all disappointed (but sadly, not surprised) that there were complications. Not sure if/when the follow-up surgery/surgeries are needed - will learn more tonight and tomorrow.

We do feel all of your energy and love and need every drop of it. Lovely calanniebu spent time with me at the hospital this morning and was there before they even took DH down to the OR. She, TB, and Shamrock are holding me together locally, while the rest of you take care of the "long distance" part!

DS is very sad that his b-day celebration tomorrow is on hold, but we'll see what we can do to make it a special day anyway.

D will be back late tonight - that is a very good thing.

I'm sure you will be glad to have D home. Please tell ds that while you have not forgotten his bday, we just don't want daddy to miss it! You have such a nice support system. I really wish I could do something more than sending good vibes. Please let us know how things are going. I have not been able to get all of you off my mind today. Hugs my pbfamily.

Pam thank you for taking the time to update us. hang in there and give ds an extra hug from us poor kiddo it's hard to put a bday on hold cause of life. They shouldn't have to deal with stuff like this. Unfortunately they learn the struggles much to early. Maybe if nothing else have a special take out dinner for him,

We are sending the energy and prayers your way. Hang in there Hopefully having D home will make a difference.

Pam, so happy to hear DH is doing well. Calanniebu is wonderful person to visit with when at the hospital and Boston has great ones.

I know the emotion going thru the hospital route in the morning then putting on the party hat to celebrate a birthday the same day. We had that this month with MomE's DH going into the hospital and DD's birthday.

Do you have any goodies in the house? I know, gasp, but if you had a twinkie or cookies, stop at a bakery and get a special cuppycake, something, put a candle in that and sing DS happy birthday with the promise of a real birthday celebration will be done when DH is home to enjoy the fun too. That way he feels his birthday is recognized and the promise of a party to come will give him something to look forward too.

Rhonda, you are a good friend.

Just got off the phone with Pam. Good news Mr. PBF was released and they are all home - bad news is that they may have to do this all over again next week :sad2: They are doing a mini birthday celebration for her ds tonight (he asked for pancakes for dinner - thank goodness that's easy enough). His party is being rescheduled to Friday (we think).

She is grateful for all the thoughts and prayers. She is of course exhausted, but promises to check in at some point later on.

Thanks everyone for being so supportive of my secound family:hug:. You all are the best!

Thank you so much, everyone! It feels terrific to have all the members of my little flock at home tonight.

We managed a dinner of pancakes and birthday cake (eek...the scale!), did our traditional "measuring against the door frame," and have moved the friends party to tomorrow after school. I think we are all so drained that we feel like we're moving in molasses (although just maybe it is Christy's maple syrup :lmao:), but a good night's sleep should help all of us.

Got two calls on my cell while at the hospital today - one of the private schools (the longshot one) we applied to last week for DS rejected him right outta the box. (Well, OK, then!) But, then an hour later, another one of the schools we applied to called to say he *may* be a good fit there and we will work on scheduling a tour, etc. to learn more about each other before the end of this school year.

Thanks for giving us the energy to keep breathing, keep moving, and to keep our spirits up. You guys are the best!

 sorry for all the life you're having to deal with! Hope things pick up soon:goodvibes

Schools are just one long pain - DS(16)'s school doesnt't have a 6th form so he'll be moving in September, but we have to wait for results to know which one will take him - end August:scared1: and DS(10) has his selction test in September so MOre school-traipsing. when as parents what we really want to do is go to the prinicpals and say "Just take MY special little guy - ignore the rest!"

I just wanted you to know that I have been thinking of your family and sending  and prayers to all of you. It took me awhile to discover this part of the board, but I was on a search to find out how your DH is doing. I am glad to hear that you are back home. The comfort of home will do wonders. Take care and I wish I could help you out more. If you do need anything please just pm me.
