Hi there disney67, looks as though we will be joining you on this cruise. Sailing along is me Leslie 53 dh Terry 52 and my 2 daughters and their families. the grandkids ages run from 19 to 3 years at time of cruising ,there will be 12 of us in total. Dh and I took 2 of our grandchildren with us on the magic 7 night western cruise last November and we loved it!We had planned on doing a 7 night in March 2011 but our plans have changed and will be doing this date instead . just wish it was a 7 night instead of a 4 but am looking forward to the new ship, as well we will be spending time at disney before the cruise. Dh and I may consider doing a back to back and make it a 7 night Im just in the planning stages and will deciede soon! Looking forward to chatting with you and meeting your family!:cool1:

This will be our part 1 of our b2b also. This will be our 4th and 5th cruise.
It'll be myself, dh and ds(then 11).
We had a great price so we invited all our friends and family to join us for the b2b or even just a piece of it.
Does anybody know if they'll do pirate night still?

Hi mattmommy and bound for disney for a while i did not think anyone was going to join me on a short trip lol . I choose the short trip because this is going to our first cruise ever . I just did not want to do a cruise but when i herd about the deam and went to the house party that a TA friend hosted I could not say no as well as the price for the 4 of us . So i'm a rookie if you guys have any suggestions?? they would be greatfully appricated . And what is the pirate party ? I realize til the maiden voyage there is not going to be much feedback and hints . And I do not know wheather we want to do a land part before or after ? do you guys have any hints on which would be better ? Cause i'm leaning too after but do not know if it is better . hope to talk to guys soon have a magical weekend :)

Hi disney67, was wondering where you were lol! As far as going to wdw before or after the cruise I would say before would be the one to go with, we did before and after last November , but it was a 7 night so that may have factored into why I prefer to do before. That being said it looks like we will be doing the same thing again with this cruise only because of other family members meeting up with us at disney, my daughters and dh and I will be staying for a couple of nights before but then my sisters and mom will fly down after we are back from the cruise so we would be staying for 5 nights after as well. The cruise is just so relaxing , going to the parks beforehand you get all the fastpaced stuff behind you and then you can just wind down once you set sail. I have found that most people have said the same thing parks before the cruise. :thumbsup2

Okay here goes as much as I can remember from our past cruise, as far as passports being from Canada we did have to have them I would imagine you need them as well, although we had no issues at all with customs. It was no problems going off ship into ports you just needed to show your id when you were getting off the ship , we had taken 2 of my grandkids with us and we never once were asked to show any documents showing we had parental okay. We did the 2nd seating for dining and will go with that once again.
gives you more time when on castaway cay or when your in port, I thought perhaps it wouldnt work out so well eating that late at the time but it really did work out well! what stateroom cat. are you? Bring an over the door organizer as it helps to keep every thing organized in the bathroom that you need, frees up space and clutter. If you are thinking of dining at palo book it as soon as you are able to when the booking opens up as reservations go fast. I found that out last time but waited to late to book so it was a no go, will be booking asap this time around! we did disney transfers to the ship what are your plans as to getting there?:cool1:

Hi disney67 happy 4th of July weekend! We did a fishing excursion from castaway cay ,well my 2 grandkids and dh did I stayed on the beach soaking up the sun! They really enjoyed it,dh and my granddaughter swam with the dolphins in Cozumel and loved it! May book something like that if possible in Nassau for my other grandkids that will be going on this cruise. We had an ocean view last cruise it was awesome Im sure you will be glad you booked that cat. Im hoping to book onboard for the next year when the fantasy will be sailing, it does give you a better deal to book while onboard so keep that in mind. We added our tips to our payment when paying off the cruise it made it much easier and will do that again for this one. Hope that these tidbits help!:cool1:

Hey Howdy Hey.
We are booked on this cruise. This will be our third cruise. We have done a 4 day in 2007 and a 15-day eastbound repositioning cruise from LA to Fla thru the Panama Canal in 2008.
For those who have never sailed w DCL - it is a wonderful vacation... and once you've taken one... you will be looking forward to the next... they are quite addicting.
I would recommend doing parks before the cruise. That said, I have done both (before and after).
As far as Nassau goes, I highly recommend renting a day room at the Comfort Suites on Paradise Island. This will give you access to the Atlantis pools and facilities (which the DCL excursion does not).
We are doing an inside stateroom for the 1st time (we did Balcony Staterooms previously).
Any interest in fish extenders?

Hi! :flower3:
We will be on this cruise as well. It will be the second leg of a B2B for us. We have been on the Disney Wonder in 2009 for our first cruise and loved it so much we are going back for a B2B this summer. (Aug 26 - 29 and Aug 29 - Sept 2).
I am going to book the cruise while on board (I am the discount lady! ;)) hoping they will do the book while on board discount again.
I travel with my brother Tom who is a HUGE lover of all things Disney and we usually stay at Disney for 4 weeks. Travelling from Austria on a 10 hour flight it is just so relaxing to have such a long vacation during the summer.
I would also LOVE to join a FE exchange! We had so much fun on our first cruise doing it! Loved the comments from walkers by that we were with the "fun group"! :goodvibes
To the OP - you are going to love DCL and are going to have a blast! :thumbsup2

Sorry about the confusion! :goodvibes Sometimes it is hard to explain yourself in a foreign language.
I will definitely let you know if we can get a discount on both cruises for next summer. They usually give 10% off and a 100$ stateroom credit. Every little bit helps if you travel for 4 weeks! ;) (Yes, 4 weeks again next summer)

Thank you! :goodvibes We usually stay for 4 weeks as it makes more sense when travelling during the most expensive time in the summer. We are stuck with travelling at the height of the season, since I am dependent on my school holidays! ;)
Wow! A river cruise in Europe. I often see the cruise ships on the Danube and they are SO pretty!
And since you asked - we live in Linz about 120 miles from Vienna. Vienna is VERY beautiful, lots of history! I am taking my class to Vienna in November and I was just reporting about it (with photos) in my pre-trip report for WDW! Feel free to check it out if you want to.
If you need any information or if you come to our area as well, please let me know.

Fish extenders - First off - they are FUN!!! :rotfl2:
Here is a photo of the one I made for last year's cruise.
http://i326.photobucket.com/albums/k429/tinkerbellat/Pixie%20dust%20again/cruiseklein_5.jpg
And here is some more info I borrowed from the DIS.
:boat: Lots about Fish Extenders :boat:
Fish Extender 101 (http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=33184281&postcount=2)
Fish Extender Info (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1219607)
It's kind of like a Secret Santa thing. You have the FE hanging outside your stateroom and everyone who signed up on the exchange leaves little gifts in it. Can be done with one gift for the whole stateroom or several little gifts over the course of the cruise.
It was our first cruise last year and we were with another Disney group and had a blast with the FEs. All of us decorated our stateroom doors (remember, only magnets are allowed) and whenever we got back to our stateroom there was "something" in our FE - HUGE excitement!
We got LOTS of comments about being with the "fun group" and questions on how to join! :thumbsup2
Here's a photo of our loot!
http://i326.photobucket.com/albums/k429/tinkerbellat/pixie%20dust/cruise/klein_712.jpg
We are doing FEs again this summer on our B2B and hope we can do it again on the Dream cruises as well!

Best time to visit?
Well, I would say late spring, early summer - 2nd half of May to early July would be wonderful - Austrian schools are still going at that time, the weather should be nice and warm and not too hot by then - flowers and trees should be in full bloom!
Let me know if you have any more questions! :goodvibes

Hi silmarg welcome aboard this is starting to turn out to be alot of dis friends and growing . thank you for the advice on before or after but this time due too meeting some magical friends on dry land i booked after how did you like it after ?
Going to WDW after DCL is fine - heck in my eyes any trip to WDW is fine!
If you frequently travel to WDW, you will often feel like you could use another vacation when you get back home due to exhaustion. Well, DCL could be that vacation since its far more relaxing than a trip to WDW.
That said, if you are used to that exhausting feeling after a trip to WDW, then this will be no different.
What is an FE exchange i think i know what it is you have a shoe thingy hanging on your door and each day a fairy god person puts something in it am i right?
Yes, fish extenders are the shoe thingys. There is a lady who sells Disney decorated FEs on ebay at a reasonable cost (at least that was the case a couple of years ago.
When we did the east bound Panama Canal cruise in 2008 we had 120 DIS families participate in Fish Extenders! There were so many participants, it took me a couple of hours to give out our gift!

Nothing worse than having health problems and starting new work AND having things go wrong! Hope everything clears up VERY soon!how do we get this started for our cruise ??? or is there a thread for this ??

We just make a list and post it here.
I did the same for our cruises this summer - here's the link to my thread - http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=35163235#post35163235
Once there are a few people and we are all closer to the cruise a list of all the details can be put up.
I just had a list of the people's screen names (+ number of people cruising devided by adults and kids) until about 3 months before sailing - then I started the one that is currently up.
Let me know what you think of it. :goodvibes
BTW - 120 participants sounds pretty scary! :scared1: They should be devided into several groups! ;)

As disneet says, we would use this tread to collect the families interested (and prob use post #1 to keep track of who is in). You would prob want to collect the stateroom number and number of guests (w ages) who are in the FE.
120 participants sounds pretty scary! :scared1:
I think because the Panama Canal cruise was a "special" cruise, it had an inordinate number of DIS fanatics aboard. That cruise was sold out by noon on the first day it was available for booking. We held weekly chats on the DIS starting 18 months before sailing... there were pre-cruise meets held all over the country (I attended a meet at Yankee Stadium about 12 months before the cruise with about 20 fellow cruisers). There were some who gave very elaborate (and expensive) FE gifts. Some needed to take an extra suitcase just for the FE gifts they gave out.
Here's a picture of what we gave out.
http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa262/silmarg/scan0001.jpg
Its missing a Panama(or Canal Zone) stamp - but the ones I actually gave out had the Panama stamp
The stamps (except for Arubas) were postally used stamps that I got for a song on Ebay. I think I had to spend $100 on the Aruba stamps from their postal authority and get it sent to me w expedited shipping. I spent the whole cross country flight (and then some) assembling the 120+ post cards!
Thinking back to that cruise, it was because of us that the DIS had to limit the number of posts that a thread can have before they need to close a thread and start a new one. I think all told we had like 150,000 posts. We used to have a competition between the men vs woman re: who would capture each 1000th post.
One thing I put together was the Roaming Gnome door magnet (u guys know that the doors are metal and can be decorated w magnets?).
http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa262/silmarg/ROAMINGGNOME.jpg
http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa262/silmarg/scan.jpg
Here is a door magnets we used on our 2007 cruise. For the Panama Canal cruise we had a different magnet for each port. And many of the FE gifts were magnets. By the time the cruise was over the whole door was covered.

Oh my gosh! I LOVE the roaming gnome! Something we might keep in mind for this cruise! :lmao:
120 participants is just enormous - I can see that this was a special cruise, but it would freak me out - the stuff I carry for my b2b this summer fills half a suitcase! LOL - we do small things every day and a little European sweet every day, so there is quite something to "transport" and with airlines limiting the number of suitcases you can take ......... :scared1:
So, if we have a FE exchange - may I officially say - I am in! ;)

Best time to visit?
Well, I would say late spring, early summer - 2nd half of May to early July would be wonderful - Austrian schools are still going at that time, the weather should be nice and warm and not too hot by then - flowers and trees should be in full bloom!
Let me know if you have any more questions! :goodvibes

Hi! :wave2: Just decided to book this cruise. It will be my son who will be 9 next summer and myself. This will be our third Disney cruise. We did a 3 day on the Wonder in 2007 and the eastbound Panama canal cruise in 2008 (the one I see Silmarg posting about on the thread). We'll doing a stay at WDW before the cruise, but I'm waiting to see if there's free dining or other discounts before booking that. Glad to be here. :goodvibes

Welcome lauritagoddess. We also are waiting to see if free dining or room discount comes up before we book for before and after the cruise.I have other family members who are not on the cruise but will be meeting up with us after and family who are on the cruise will be doing disney before, so I get the best of both ! I do know that the poly will be the resort we will be staying at for at least one part, never stayed there and want to try it. The other stay will most likely be the cbr or perhaps the yacht club love both of them so either is fine by me!

I will let you know if we get a bounce back offer when we get back. Usually if they do offer a bounce back then yes the will offer it next year but won't announce it until April of next year. Also the format has changed in order to stay at a moderate you have to pay extra so next year we will more than likely stay at Riverside. I'll KUP! O' and we are from upstate NY!

Before you book a bounceback offer check if the DDP is still the same! IF what is printed in the UK brochures is correct than the DDP is going to change (no more desserts, no more refillable mugs for QSDP). I guess it won't make any more sense for us to pay rack rate for just a main course and a drink! :confused3
But we should know soon - the new DDPs are usually out at the beginning of August! Let's keep our fingers crossed Disney is dismissing its UK plans! ;)

Yes I could see that in that respect it wouldnt be worth the cost, really the main reason I have been thinking about booking one is for my daughter and the 2 little ones who will be 2 and 4 at the time. I thought since they are so young maybe it would be a good idea for them to have somewhere to perhaps nap and have shade,Iknow there are umbrellas on the beach but a cabana would offer more and would be a little secluded.:cool1:

Hi guys , got a ? what is new roc city ?? and where is it ?
New Roc City is a sort of entertainment complex in New Rochelle NY. The area it was built was fairly run down area and I think most would consider the development a success (the development made the area much nicer). It has a large Regal Movie theatre with an Imax screen, I think it has an ice skating rink, mini golf, billiards, and an arcade. I think it used to also have a indoor go-cart thing... but I think that is where the ice skating rink is now - you would think I'd know as I live like 2 miles away (better google it to make sure). There is an Applebees and a Buffalo Wild Wings place there too.
While I do go there for the movies, I would not consider the place a "destination" that I would travel that far to see. Then again I am a father that might just take my DDs to a place as far away if they pleaded me to do so...
Maybe we should do a pre-cruise meet at New Roc :rotfl:

I'm in the southern part of Brooklyn closer to Queens, about 10-15 minutes away from JFK to give you an idea.
A pre-cruise meet sounds like it would be fun. :)

Hi everyone! We will be cruising on the Dream with you next year. It will be myself and my husband, Adam and our four boys ages at the time - 13, 10, 8, and 5. This is the kids FIRST cruise, but our second. Actually we took our first cruise on Aug 28, 2004! :goodvibes It was a 7 night that turned into a 10 night due to the hurricanes that year. I was a DISboards members for years under admepo, but just signed up again today.
Looking forward to the cruise and meeting everyone here!!!
Oh - and the kids have no idea they are going! We are still debating when to tell them....

My son will be 9 when we sail, right between your two middle boys in age. I've already told him about the cruise. We were planning on an extended trip to WDW in August but he was so excited when I told him we'd do a shorter trip to WDW and then followed by the cruise on the Dream. Actually his reaction was "Why only a 4 day?" :rotfl:

Our boys have been having serious Disney withdrawls - we just moved back to NJ in January after living in FL for 7 years and being annual pass holders and in Orlando often. They haven't been to Disney since April 2009  so they are dying to get back there. We will be in FL before the cruise visiting family and are doing the cruise before heading back home. We are debating giving it to them as a partial Christmas gift or if we can make it - waiting until we are on the way to Port! I don't think I could make it that long. I am bursting at the seams already dying to tell them!!! :dance3:

That will be my 12 year old.... Why not 7 or 10? If only he knew how much it costs! :rolleyes1

If we are around, we'd likely join!

We will be doing a pre cruise stay at Pop Century from 8/23 - 8/28. :goodvibes I picked Pop because I am looking to do the most economical trip possible since we are also cruising. I would love to stay at a moderate or deluxe resort but we need two rooms. Two rooms at moderate or deluxe are not in the budget.
During our trip last Christmas, the three of us shared a room at Pop. I quickly learned one room at Pop is no longer an option for us. :headache:
So this time we will be getting two rooms at Pop. Luckily we'll be there during free dining :cool1:

Well due to some changes in our plans with the family and friends we have cancelled this part of our cruise and won t be joining you all on the 4 night:sad1: we are just doing the 3 night Sept 1st and have booked 6 nights at the caribbean beach before the cruise. Main reason is to do with the grandkids going back to school and wanting to spend time at disney as well so this was the only way to do both before the school year begins. The good news for me is that dh and I are now booked on a 7 night eastern Jan 29, got a great rate for a balcony view with the canadian discount!Plus we are booked at the Poly for 2 nights before the eastern cruise, great rate there with 40% off lagoon view! Wish we didnt have to cancel this 4 night as I was looking forward to meeting you all maybe we will at some future cruise cause I know once you cruise disney you always come back! happy:thumbsup2 sailing and for those still on as b2b I will see you on the later part of the dream cruise!

I read up on the FE so now I know what it is. But I do have a few more questions about how this FE will work.
Do we leave a gift in the FEs for everyone participating or just one person's FE?
Is it like Secret Santa where you don't know who has your name?
How often do we leave gifts in the FE?
I'm sure I'll have more questions but that's it for now.

Do we leave a gift in the FEs for everyone participating or just one person's FE? from what im too understand yes
Is it like Secret Santa where you don't know who has your name?
basically Yes
How often do we leave gifts in the FE?
from what i have read you can leave everything in one shot or leave something each day but i do not think there is anything written on how much . plus we are on a short cruise so either way is very magical .

Yes, it is like a secret Santa, but you'll leave a/some gifts for everyone on the FE list.
You can either leave one gift for the people in the stateroom to share or one for each member of the party.
You can either leave "one" gift during the cruise or leave several gifts during your cruise.
What we do - we make/buy little gifts for everyone in the stateroom for every day - remember small and homemade - NO big gifts. We enjoy the daily round delivering our gifts, but we have received lots of "one time" gifts as well. Whatever you give and how often is up to you, but I can tell you we were the envy of our deck and there was something in the extender almost every time we returned to our stateroom - and it is SO much fun (both giving and receiving)
Here's a photo of what we got last year (4 day cruise)

Who is coordinating this FE and what info do you need from me?
Also where would you recommend I buy a FE? I am not crafty so I know I won't be making one :lmao:
Lastly, do the gifts have to be homemade or can they be purchased (see point above regarding not being crafty ;) )

Hello everyone! We are also booked on this cruise. I was delaying posting because we are also booked on the Sept. 1 cruise and added this one to do a b2b. If things get too tight (things are kinda bad in Greece right now), we may have to pull out of this cruise, but things seem to be shaping up for my family, so here we are! (yeah, I can be long-winded at times)
Cruising are me, Debbie, 40 and DD Emmanuela 15. We are leaving the grumpy members of our family home this year!:rotfl: This will be our second and third cruise.
We are all for the FE!!! but do not know our stateroom number yet.
Also, we also like the idea of a matching T-shirt and will gladly pay cost if someone was still considering that idea.
:banana::banana: bring on the anticipation!
I love hearing updates! Have you heard about Remy?? I heard it is 75$ for dinner, but a marvelous experience.
Also, I am also considering the idea of renting a room at the Comfort Suites for Atlantis water slide purposes, but am afraid of going on my own. Is anyone still interested in doing that? Care to walk me through it??
:yay:OK, enough for now! Can you tell we're excited??

Hello again! Yes, my family and I were on that cruise! We had a lovely time, but this time it is just my one daughter and I. We are leaving the grumpy members at home :rotfl::rolleyes1 so this time we are planning on even more fun!:dance3:.
Good News about Remy... My unofficial guide says it's $25, not $75. Only time will tell before an official announcement comes forward!
Have a nice weekend all!

How is every one? Did ever one make the back to school transition ok? It was kinda of tough for - but yes I made it - someone tell me why college text books are soooo expensive!!
So we did indeed book for a back to back (this cruise and then the next) we were gun ho, and then on the fence, and then not so sure and then no, and finally we got to what the heck !!!!
So again count me in on the FE - I love running around the ship. Someon said they started tinkering on there crafty stuff? - oh your just too good. Not that I'm gonna sit out and wait for the last min - it's just generally how it happens!!!!
I have heard from other cruisers if the FE gets really long (panama canal cruise had close to 100(?) you could break it up into two or three groups(of course how cool would that be if we got 100 people from this board on the same trip!!! - jus saying)
Has anyone gone GTY and got their room assignments yet? does that mean theres zero chance for a upgade? let me know!!!!
debsters41
10-09-2010, 01:52 PM
Hi Ladyleslie! I think GTY status gives you a better chance of getting an upgrade. I have GTY status on this cruise, too, but I have a room assignment on the one after this one. I am hoping for a slight upgrade to be in the cat 10 inside room that I have on the next cruise just so I don't have to pack!
I also seriously doubt we will find 100 families for the FE, but I am game even if there are!:cheer2::flower3:

Hi all :wave2: It's been a while since I've posted so I thought I would check in. I probably won't be able to post as much as I would like because of everything that I have going on right now.
Just to give you some idea of what my life is like:
I am a single mom to two sons - Tim (22) and Kyle (17).
I work full time for a local municipality. I just received a new assignment which means more work (with no more money :sad2:). So I will be doing my regular job plus a boat load (pardon the pun :rotfl:) of other tasks.
I am a grad student at a local university. I am working on getting my Master's in Hotel and Restaurant Management. I have two classes this semester and they are kicking my hind parts.
I have been asked to plan not one but TWO weddings for next year. This is great since I am interested in becoming an event planner.
I am also coordinating my family's 2011 trip (which includes a pre cruise stay @ WDW and then sailing on the Disney Dream :cloud9:) as well as trips for three (possibly) four other families who will be sailing with us as well.
The last two are great because I love planning so it's what I do when I want to relax. I know - I'm strange that way. :goodvibes:
So if you don't see me posting a lot it's not because I am not totally stoked about this cruise. As a matter of fact, thinking about sailing on the Disney Dream next year is the only thing keeping me sane these days :lmao:
I hope everyone has a great week!

Hi Everyone! Other family reporting in!! Me, DW and DD who will be 9 (she would say 9 1/2) :rotfl2: when we sail. We are doing B2B and this one will be our second leg. These will make our 3rd & 4th Disney cruises so far and, of course, our first one on the Dream :woohoo:
Will be staying at Disney's Port Orleans Riverside for 10 days before our cruise, we stayed at POR for the first time this past August/Sept and loved it, Actually, It's become our new favorite!! Although we are US citizens we will be traveling from Madrid, Spain (been living here for many years)
We are definitely up for the Fish Extender Exchange, we have always participated on our previous cruises and it is always a highlight of our trip.
My family and I are all very excited and we look forward to getting to know you all!!!
Is it August yet? :)

And now back to the Dreaming..... I have just booked my transfers and am considering the atlantis excursion...
anyone else thinking about excursions?
Also, I heard on a podcast that Remy is indeed 75$. I am still hoping that that is for a special captain's dinner and not the entire dining room.
Although, all I really really want is Palo Brunch and the strawberries!:yay:

Hey Debbie & Karin, definitely it must be an European thing :lmao: Our flights are booked already and both cruises (b2b) are paid in full :woohoo:, I thought it would be a good idea to take advantage of the weakness of the US Dollar :rolleyes1 (we, of course pay in Euros). We have been vacationing in the US for 20 years in a row, we have many relatives there and like very much to visit them everytime we have the chance.:) I am more than ready to book our 2012 cruise one of these days, we are planning to book the 7 night Eastern Caribbean on the Fantasy :cool1:, and will re-shop it aboard the Dream to get the benefits of booking onboard :rotfl: As for excursions, we weren't planning to get off the ship in Nassau, but since we will be making 2 stops there, we are considering to book the Blue Lagoon excursion (we did Atlantis during our first Disney Cruise in 2008) Besides that, We are planning to book Palo Brunch (our favorite) and dinner at Remy :dance3: We still need to figure out which night would be the best for Remy though, our daughter won't want to miss any of the 2 pirates nights :rotfl2: Also, Jetskiing at CC is a must for us.
Hope you guys are all having a great weekend!! I really look forward to sailing with you all.

We are really really excited about sailing on the Dream. It will be myself, DW, DD3, DD15. If the group is planning on doing FE's most certainly count us in.

We're going to take a look at her (the Dream) when we go to WDW in February! Can't wait to see her for real! :cloud9:

We've done 3 day cruises before and there just isn't enough time to try everything out. Since the Dream is so much bigger and has so much more to offer, we knew we'd never be happy with only 3 or 4 days. We plan to do all of the dinners, shows, excursions on the 3 day and then just relax and "play it by ear" on the 4 day (catch a movie, participate in some activities and games, etc.)

We did the POP and it drove me just as crazy so pre-cruise this time we are staying at the French Quarter and we love it there. We just told the girls on Christmas that we are Cruising and our oldest who turns 9 on deportation day is so excited. Mylie doesn't understand at all. I will try and catch up on the pages and pages I've missed but it will take a while. Happy New Year to you all!

Happy New Year!!!
Here's wishing you and your families a happy, healthy, prosperous 2011 with lots of family and friends to spend it with !!!!!!!!! (and of course a rocking Disney cruise in august!!!!!)
The NYC blizzard of 2010 came in on Saturday and by the following Saturday we had 50 degree weather and almost all the snow was gone in my neighborhood!!!! The weather is sooo crazy...... But of course we missed the opportunity for a snow day, being we were already on winter break. As a teacher and all - I'm probably just as bad as my students when I'm busy chanting "snow day! snow day ! snow day!"
Hope where ever you are the snow is light, the shoveling is easy, and the roof and gutters aren't freezing.

Any interest in fish extenders?
hey sil!!!!!!! i'm sooo excited to see you guys are on this cruise!!
:scared1: They should be devided into several groups! ;)
i remember thinking that it was our excercise for awhile...i remember it taking sooo long to deliver them all!! we definitely got a good walk in while handing them out!! lol!!Hi! :goodvibes
hi to another EBPC cruiser!! I will let you know if we get a bounce back offer when we get back. Usually if they do offer a bounce back then yes the will offer it next year but won't announce it until April of next year. Also the format has changed in order to stay at a moderate you have to pay extra so next year we will more than likely stay at Riverside. I'll KUP! O' and we are from upstate NY!
we are from NY too...but close to the pa border.
we will be joining you all on this cruise too!! we are going to be B2B cruisers as well, with this being the 2nd part of our trip. we are in staterooms 6669 & 6671. cruising will be:
me-shannon
dh-mark
ds-13yrs
dd-11yrs
ds-8yrs
ds-will have just turned 2yrs.
my parents are also coming with us and they will celebrate their 38yr anniversary on embarking day!! also a friend and her 2 dk's will be coming (ds-12yrs;dd10yrs)
i know that my family will want to be included in the FE...but i'm not sure of the others travelling with us yet.

oops...forgot to say that this will be our 6th and 7th DCL cruise. we have cruised on the wonder in jan 2005 and again for halloween 2006. then we did the panama canal repo in aug 2008 on the magic. we went back to the wonder for a quick 4day in jan 2009 and then back to the magic for thanksgiving 2009. this will be our first b2b and we can't wait to see how it goes!! we really don't care about getting off in nassau, so we will use that time to check out the ship. i can't wait!!!

thanks so much!!! that pic was taken on our 2009 thanksgiving cruise...they've all grown quite a bit since then!! lol! (i really wish little man was still that little!! he was soooo easy to take on the that cruise...the upcoming cruise scares me with a just turned 2yr old!! lol!!)
and how strange is it that out of all the rooms on the Dream, you will be taking over ours for your second part?!?! we got lucky and didn't have to switch in the middle of the b2b, so we'll really have it all warmed up for you!!
we finally booked our airfare today!! i spent alllllll day long trying to find the cheapest. boy do the airlines like to keep changing thier rates or what?? the other day i found great rates, and i should have booked them then...but we were still unsure what some people in our party were doing. today i started looking at 1pm and i finally booked tix at 10 tonite!! our local airports are very smallish...but sometimes they have good rates. we found great rates going OUT of them, but couldn't find anything decent at all for returning! so, now we have to drive a ways to get to a bigger airport...and we'll only have a day and a half at wdw before cruising. oh well, at least we can cross another to do off of our list!!
hope everyone has a great weekend!!

While I have an account, I am not big on FB. Told DW u guys would be there - she was excited to hear it.
Nice to hear about the new(ish) addition... but u need to change the screen name to wheelerkiz4!
We are (hopefully) headed back to disneyland next month (for Presidents Week). I say hopefully because I have had the hotel booked for a while (Villas at Grand Californian - we are DVC members now)... but DW (who is not a good flyer was balking at going out west). She finally gave in... but now airfare is so expensive.
Are u doing the parks before or after the Aug cruise?
Be well.

i really do need to get my screenname changed...not sure how that works though? collin can be quite a handful at times...but i guess what one and a half year old isn't?! LOL!! i try to count my blessings...we are lucky to have him! (got preg with him shortly after my miscarriage that i had right before panama cruise, and then we almost lost him at the end of the preg, cuz he had a knot in his cord and we dind't know about it, so he wasn't breathing when he came out.) so for all the trouble i've had in getting my #4, i really should change my name here! LOL!!
Airfare is ridiculous!!! we have been looking at it off and on for the past few weeks...but not seriously. now the prices have all jumped. i wish we would have bought tix when we first started looking. ended up buying some last nite, and i've never spent that much per person per ticket....ugh!! we are going to fly down 2 days before the cruise, but we won't be going into the parks. plan to just do some shopping at dtd and lounge at the hotel. we wanted to be able to visit the parks, but i guess that will have to wait til next time!

I am talking about buying air to the DL trip next month - yes I am a procrastinator. I will wait until June to buy airfare for August...

yes, we had to buy airfare for august already. i'm normally a procrastinator myself...i work better under pressure. but i'm travelling with my parents and another friend with her 2 kids, so everyone else was getting ancy about getting the airfare. we like to go out of elmira usually but sometimes we use binghamton or even ithaca....but all those prices were ridiculous for the return trip. i've been watching the fares for awhile now, and this past week, they have all gone up...alot!! we found a pretty good one out of rochester for 79 each way...i don't think i'd find one much lower than that...and i was scared if i didn't book, it would be way higher than that.

we keep telling ourselves it won't be so bad. we've had to drive to buffalo before...so rochester will be a short trip! lol!! the fares coming back home into our local airport were around $200-300 for just the one way!!! it was ridiculous..esp when you times that by the 6 of us. it stinks that the baby has his bday in july...so we have to buy a seat for him this time. for some reason i was thinking that he'd still be a lap kid for this venture...but i guess not! lol!!

I am thinking we are going to do two days (probably 1 1/2 days) by the port....as much as I would  to go to the parks, I'm afraid I will tire myself out like last time :( I ended up going to sleep on the first night around 9pm...so I just want to relax, relax, relax before I get on that ship! Good luck with your decision!
which hotel do you like by port ?

which hotel do you like by port ?
Country Inn & Suites...beautiful pool, rooms, great staff, breakfast is wonderful, plus warm chocolate chip cookies at the front desk:) If you need to use their shuttle service, its fantastic as well!
We also eat dinner at Fish Lips down at the port, its very good, plus you get to watch if the ships are leaving port (we watched the Carnival Sensation leaving), kind of gets you excited for when you get to go on! My kids loved the "Lobster Bites"...like chicken nuggets, but Lobster instead:)

bummer...no bj's around here. i need to get looking on the car rentals though. we are planning on flying in a few days early and using magical express to go to wdw. my parents have mentioned wanting to go to port by limo, so i'm not sure if we need a van for before the cruise. we don't fly home though til the day after we disembark, so we need a vehicle when we get off the ship.
and YES!! please add me to the list. i thought i had already posted for it, but i guess i posted in the other thread. )following 2 threads is gonna confuse me fast! LOL!!) so far it will be just my family. i'm not sure what the others cruising with me plan to do. thanks!

u dont have to tell me... I live 25 mins from three different airports (JFK, LGA and White Plains), but for the past two years Presidents week airfare to WDW was so high from NY, that I flew out of Philly and Baltimore.
Heck I once flew into Tampa and once was scheduled to fly into Jacksonville (but that flight got cancelled and they put us on a flight to Orlando).
For our trip to DL next month, DW said she would only agree if we were flying non stop out of JFK . Lucky Jet Blue had a sale and we are all set at $299!

Jeeze, I feel so behind. Other than booking the cruise, I have not made any other arrangements for this trip. A this point I may as well wait for the 7 month window to open up at DVC to see what resorts will be available.
As for air... I can usually wait until early summer and get a good enough deal.
Then need to plan for parks and dining...
Should be fun!

Hi Debbie -
I don't know if you are :scared1: because you have to make so many connections or because you have to connect through Detroit. If it's the latter, there is no reason to be :scared1:. :lmao:
Not sure if you will have a layover in Detroit or how long it will be but if you do have to deplane in Detroit, make sure you explore the Detroit Metro Airport. There are lots of great shops and restaurants to visit!!

ME 2!!!!!! :cool1: These pics just make me more excited and help me ignore all the cold and snow outside! This is our 4th time on the Disney Cruise but our little one's first!
We are actually doing Disney before hand this time we've never done that before but with free dinning it's the way it worked out and we are at Riverside for 8 day's. Not sure what we will do yet when we disembark, come home are stay one more day since it's so early in the am and hanging around the airport at MCO for 4 hours give or take like last time is not on my agenda for that day LOL! Right now we have no airfare our best prices are always Airtran even with the bag fees and once in a blue moon Jet Blue but neither has their prices up yet for August beyond the 11th so we wait.
PS I've been doing FE research, anyone else? My oldest is very excited to try this. Question the zip thing to hold it on suggested is that so it doesn't fall off or so it doesn't get stolen? Just wondering as even though not our first cruise Disney style our first FE.

we use a zip tie to tie it on there...just make sure you bring some scissors to cut it off...we forgot out scissors last time, but thankfully the stateroom host had some we could use though. he had a pretty big pair though and it was hard to get to the zip tie!

And now back to the Dreaming..... I have just booked my transfers and am considering the atlantis excursion...
anyone else thinking about excursions?
QUOTE]
We did Atlantis last year on our own via comfort suites - we has a wonderful time!!! And if you never done it and like water parks - it's definetly worth doing once..... even if it a bit pricey.
Last year we booked a room at comfort suite for 200 total (including taxes and all their charges) and we got the bands with no problems but a bit of walk... the frustrating thing about atlantis water park was there were no park maps when we asked around for one.

Dan and I are going to Atlanis in September so we plan on getting off the boat finding a trinket or two for the girls and getting back on to spend the day on a deserted cruise boat :cool1:. We did consider taking a taxi or water taxi to one of the local beaches but decided it's only a 4 day cruise we are going to spend as much time onboard as possible except on Castaway day! If it were just the two of us we would love to see the sites but not with the girls not with a just turned 4 year old, no thanks no need for whining on vacation.

i tend to overbuy at shutters. i know that the backdrops will repeat for both cruises, but i have 4 kids...and i'm sure that some of the pics won't turn out for the 1st segment of cruise. does shutters offer any way to "hold" the pics from both segments of cruise, and then i pick a photo package at the end of the b2b? or am i gonna be stuck buying a package from the first seg and then another package on the 2nd seg?

I really wish you all a Happy Sailing and definitely look forward to sailing with you folks sometime in the future.

So onto my main project in about hopefully 2 weeks i will have 2 designs to choose from for the shirts i want to make , i will post pictures but i will give you a hint for the first one is a vinalmation dream one . if anyone is still intrested in the shirts just post me and for anyone new , i will be making shirts for this dream cruise , the only cost i will ask for is to cover the cost of the shirt and the decal i use for this . im not looking to make a penny off of this but it would look cool to see many people wearing the same shirt. :wizard:

heatwave! Warmed up to -1! Eh, its New England...you just never know what you are going to get here...
Wow! And to think I am complaining with temperatures in the 30s!
Welcome Polyluvr! In my family, I love using kids birthdays as 'excuses' for travel, especially since my husband would rather spend money on our house. Last year I used my daughter's 16th as the reason why I 'had' to take her and her sister to London! :lmao:

Thanks all for the welcome :)
It will be so nice the Dominic will already know that someone his age will also be on the ship w him :) :rotfl2: He can be a nervous nelly @ times; and LOVES WDW but tends to miss home :confused3 LOL
I love to take the kids somewhere around their Bdays~ although Dominic's is 12/30~ and it's really expensive to go to WDW or a cruise for NYE.
Have a great day everyone ;)

Jeff, I'm wondering where you saw Lots - O - Bear? Was it where you can see Woody, Buzz and Jessy near the back of the lot? My girls would die to see him but we just couldn't find him other than the parade last year.
