Loved the SkyWay but PM was...well...boring. PM will come back to DLR this decade (probably in the the next 5 years) but SkyWay will never come back. :sad1:

I would love the PM to come back, TTA(tomorrowland tranist authority) at WDW is a must ride for us. It's not one of the most "exciting" rides, but it is always a walk on and it gets us off our feet for 10 minutes. It makes for a nice mid day break. :thumbsup2

I was recently watching a Disneyland vacation video from 1991 and saw so many extinct things. I would love for them to come back. But for me it is more about the nostalgia and memories linked to them. If I were to ride the old People Mover for the first time today, I wouldn't be too impressed.

Not only would I love that but would also welcome back, with open arms, the Country Bear Jamboree and CoP. :cloud9:

I really liked PM and would love to have it back..(wasn't there some discussion awhile back on how this couldn't happen because of regulations about clearance or something that the old PM was grandfathered in, but now that it was gone, no go?) I remember riding the Skyway..it gave me the willies even back then as a kid, so probably would not ride even if it came back. Now..I did get a kick out of the flying saucers and it looks the upgraded version will be in Carsland hopefully (as a tire ride)

(old goober moment) I remember when the PM had quite a line. Sure do miss it though. (old googer moment over)

Love the PM, TTA is a daily must ride at MK. I don't think the skyway will ever return and am OK with that.

..and what you just said is why I posted this thread, and a poll!, and any thread that asks what certain a member wants back always seem to be—PM! So that is why I wanted to put a thread out that asked everyone opinions, thoughts and feelings on IF Disney did bring anyone or both back to Disneyland California. I think the one ride that Disney could benefit from right now is PM. It would draw more people into the park, and maybe take away some guests from the Nemo line(ii hate that line with a passion). http://www.thesmilies.com/smilies/happy/slaphappy.gif (http://www.thesmilies.com)

im partial to SKyway, i rode it once, i was VERY little, but i remember PM much more. http://www.thesmilies.com/smilies/cartoon/mickeymouse.gif (http://www.thesmilies.com)

We used to ride the People Move when we got too hot. We could sit and rest and it went through the air conditioned buildings. We loved PM!

I liked the PeopleMover. Especially the microscope section. It was a nice 10 minute sit with things to look at.

The Rocket Rods (that I rode on a soft open) were boring. The RocketRods seemed to be in "fail" mode every other time we saw them. I even saw people walking off the ride on the concrete path the cars rode on.

I assume the Skyway were the buckets overhead. I think the biggest challenge with that was the fools that dropped stuff (or spit) onto unsuspecting guests below.

I voted for the Peoplemover.

Sure, it wasn't a "thrill" ride, but it was so nice to just SIT and be taken around through Tomorrowland...especially in the summer, when it went through all the air conditioned show buildings. I remember as a kid bringing a portable tape recorder to catch the cheezy music & spiel for posterity. (I was an odd kid)

There needs to be something moving on those tracks again. It's sad to see them just sort of there, collecting dust/fallen leaves.

You don't want to know what when on in the Skyway on Grad Nights!

Was the people mover the one that "shrunk" you? If it was that ride scared me more then anything when I was little. I really thought we were shrunk!

The shrinking ride was Adventure Thru Inner Space; the Peoplemover track went through it. I was terrified of it the first time I went on it, too. That and Mission to Mars.

I think if disney want's a skyway like ride again. It would of gone in DCA, because it's a ride that could bridge the theming of PP and GRR in the Golden State area.

Of corse now the period of PP predates gondolas and chairlifts.

I have fond memories of both of them and would love to have them brought back. :thumbsup2 I think it's kind of sad that some may think that the PM was not exciting enough; :confused3 not all rides have to be scarey or action packed for me to enjoy them. Some people may simply enjoy a moment to sit back and enjoy the view for a few moments. And some of us may enjoy it for the nostalgia. But I think it would go over well if they did bring it back. I know Disneyland is sopposed to keep changing but I am one of those who also gets a little sad when we lose something. :sad1:

I miss both. Quite often as I pass under the PM tracks, I wish it had never left.

Oh yes...that's right! Agh that big eyeball looking at you was sooo scary. I would like to see ATIS come back. It would be awesome with all the new special effects and technology Disney has now.

The huge eyeball was bad, but my freakout began even before my parents got me onto the ride itsself...seeing the Atomobiles disappear into the dark and then seemingly re-emerge at 1/500th their size in that clear tube was enough to send me wailing and flailing onto the que floor!

However, after the horror of my first ride on ATIS, I wanted to do it again when I figured out that Disney knew how to return us to our normal size :rotfl:

I'd love to see it return, though I don't think it'll happen, unfortunately.

I remember that so well also! but I just loved it..the whole shrinking part..looking back those little models in the shrunk vehicles were pretty cheesy..great time!

:rotfl: OMG! That was my reaction too. I remember getting a bit freaked when I saw the little model people going by, and then we were in our little car and my mom grabbed my arm and "Oooh were getting shrunk down" in an excited slightly spooky voice and that was it... I lost it, cried through the rest of the ride. My mom felt pretty bad after that.
It wasn't until I was bit older that I actually saw the eye, I'm sure during that first ride my eyes were clamped tightly shut!

If they brought them both back I would do cartwheels...both of them are my favorite rides from my childhood and I just about cried when I went back after a few years and they were gone.

really cartwheelS? ;) can we post that on youtube? lol j/k :cool1:

the people would be a nice "newer" addition to the park. like i said before it is a timeless classic loved by all, it would help to disperse some of the crowds for nemo!! u know cause the mover would be there and then people would go on that, and then nemo would not be soo crowded

I would LOVE for the People Mover to come back. It is a great ride. No, it is not thrilling, but it is a beautiful little tour of part of the park. It is especially breathtaking at night. I ride it every day I am at MK. Sometimes staying on it for more than one loop to rest and soak up the atmosphere. And soaking up the atmosphere is what it is all about to me!!!!

I'd love to see it come back! Dh and I have talked about it several times. It was gone before he moved to CA. I only sort of remember it as a kid. I don't know if it's more from seeing pictures though. We did ride it at MK a couple times, once getting stuck in Space Mountain- no bueno with a 3 year old.

I would definitely like to see the People Mover back at DLR. Ever since they took it out for Rocket Rods, I was sad and not happy that the DLR took out the People Mover. Every time I go to WDW and the MK, that is one of the rides I must go on during my visit. It reminds me of the good old days at DL where I always like to go on this ride. The TTA at the MK is great but it is not the same without going though Star Tours and the TRON speed tunnel. I also like when we go through through the Autopia, the Monorail, Submarine Voyage and the Motor Boat Cruise around TL and FL. I would like DL to do something with the old People Mover track. I would be very happy if they do another People Mover at DL. :thumbsup2 But no Rocket Rods again it was a failure, at least it will be over at DCA for Cars Land.
