Well we left the world yesterday and are enjoying beautiful Clearwater Beach now. Deluxe dining was an experience and we had fantastic food. It was way more food than I could ever eat and we were struggling with the snack credits in the end :lmao:, but it was a terrific experience. I have a ton of sweets to eat as we brought 13 snacks with us to Clearwater :lmao: I took many photos of the food and cannot wait to start my dining review. I will be swinging back by the CSR tomorrow as I forgot to pick up my resort delivery from DHS, OOPS! The CM on the phone told me it was no problem, so I am secretly excited about stopping back by there tomorrow and will probably grab a few more snacks for the road!

We arrived at the beautiful CSR on Tueday May 18th and decided to go to downtown Disney for lunch. We decided on Ragland Road as we love pub grub and loved Cookes of Dublin from our trip last year. We walked right in and were seated. This place is really amazing inside and this turned out to be one of our favorite meals of the entire trip. Here is a picture of the inside bar area.

http://i479.photobucket.com/albums/rr155/lstipetich/DSC05511.jpg

Our friendly waiter brought us some fresh soda bread with a Guiness Oil mixture

http://i479.photobucket.com/albums/rr155/lstipetich/DSC05514.jpg

Of course with deluxe we both had appetizers, and oh my where these yummy and super huge! I chose the scallops which were soooo good :thumbsup2 They were so juicy and not greasy at all. There goes my normal healthy diet out the window :lmao:

http://i479.photobucket.com/albums/rr155/lstipetich/DSC05515.jpg

My DH chose the sausages for his appetizer. There were so many of them and there was not way he could eat all of those. I had one and it was very authentic.

http://i479.photobucket.com/albums/rr155/lstipetich/DSC05517.jpg

On to the entrees, I ordered the shepherds pie. I loved the presentation and it was good, but a little on the dry side. I wasn't able to eat much from having the appetizer beforehand.

http://i479.photobucket.com/albums/rr155/lstipetich/DSC05519.jpg

My DH had the fish and chips which was the perfect portion SMALL! After the sausages who needs a huge portion. It was great and again very authentic. We have been to England many times and found the food here to be just as good as the pub food in the UK.

The Pavlova Dessert was excellent. My DH ordered it and I had the boring but healthy fruit plate. I took mine back to the room and had a little bit of the Pavlova.

Final thoughts on Raglin Road. We loved the atmosphere and the food overall was very good. I would give this restaurant a 9 out 10 rating!

Up next Narcoossees :)

I LOVE your title. We always get Deluxe Dining and that is exactly how I feel. For some reason we struggle with the snacks and always end up bringing Mickey rice krispie treats home for my friends children. We are heading back the end of September, so I made reservations for CRT and the Luau (hoping to use up our credits). Two years ago we left with 4 meal credits left on our card. Ugh! Not this year!

Can't wait to read your report. We are trying some new places to eat this year. Hopefully it's some of the places you are going to review! Keeping my fingers crossed.popcorn::

Fantastic photos of Raglan Road, don't get shepherds pie served like that in our house though!!!

always rule RR and Rose and Crown out when we go to WDW as they are too normal for us but it does look scrumptious.

So for dinner that first night we had a 7:35 ressie for Narccossees. This was our first ever signature dining experience and I was so excited. We had to ask for directions when we arrived at the GF as I had no idea where it was located. We were seated within a minute of arrival. The interior of the restaurant was beautiful and everyone was super friendly. It had a very upscale vibe to it. The wanted to seat us next to the bar but when I saw window seats available I asked if we could have one and we were seated right by the window. I had a perfect view of the castle.

http://i479.photobucket.com/albums/rr155/lstipetich/DSC05537.jpg

I ordered a passion fruit mojito that was perfection! We each ordered ice tea as well. Since I was celebrating my birthday this trip they had a special bday menu for me! The bread was very good and loved the Hawaiian sea salt on top of the butter.

http://i479.photobucket.com/albums/rr155/lstipetich/DSC05543.jpg

http://i479.photobucket.com/albums/rr155/lstipetich/DSC05545.jpg

Now onto the appetizers, we were still in shock that we each get one! How in the world were we going to consume all this food :rotfl2: I chose the cheese platter. I thought it was very nice, my DH didn't care for it. I did though! He had the calamari which we both thought was very good.

http://i479.photobucket.com/albums/rr155/lstipetich/DSC05547.jpg

http://i479.photobucket.com/albums/rr155/lstipetich/DSC05546.jpg

http://i479.photobucket.com/albums/rr155/lstipetich/DSC05548.jpg

For our dinner entrees we both ordered the whole maine lobster. I loved mine, but have to admit it was pretty tough and very chewy. My DH hated his and could not eat it as his had a very fishy odor to it. The potatoes were fantastic as well as the broccoli.

http://i479.photobucket.com/albums/rr155/lstipetich/DSC05550.jpg

We did notice the service was very slow as this restaurant. We weren't in a hurry, but gosh we don't need to drag it out all night long either. It was now dark outside and the ambiance was very nice!

http://i479.photobucket.com/albums/rr155/lstipetich/DSC05552.jpg

Now onto the dessert, I had the almond cheesecake (OMG so good!) and my DH had a dish of chocolate gelato. Wishes was also on during the desserts which was very nice.

http://i479.photobucket.com/albums/rr155/lstipetich/DSC05556.jpg

http://i479.photobucket.com/albums/rr155/lstipetich/DSC05557.jpg

http://i479.photobucket.com/albums/rr155/lstipetich/DSC05551.jpg

Overall Narccoosses was a very nice experience, however due to the lobster not being so great and the slow service I would give it a 6 out of 10. However the almond cheesecake was one of the best desserts I have ever had. Narccoosees is one of the best deals on the deluxe plan and I will post our itemized bill shortly.

Great reviews! I couldn't believe you didn't have the bread pudding at Raglan Road, but I think you might have needed a shot of insulin afterward. ;)

I only ate at Narcoosee's once, nearly 10 years ago, and I wasn't impressed by my meal. I really needed to give it another chance, hopefully with better service than you received. I was happy to see Humboldt Fog on your cheese plate. :cloud9:

Here is a what we spent at Narccoosses

Cheese Plate $15.00
Calamari $13.00

The next morning we made it over to AK just in time for our Tusker House breakfast at 8:35. We waited a few minutes for our picture with Donald and then made our way into the restaurant. I loved the theme and the breakfast selections were wonderful. Everything was fresh and hot! We were seated off in a smaller room which was away from all the chaos of the main room. The guava juice they serve is so good! We had eggs, sausage, fruit, frittata, waffles, and my DH had some of the Krispy Kreme donuts. We really enjoyed the breakfast and would return for sure. I didn't take pictures really as it was a buffet, but here are a few that I did take.

We didn't have lunch because of the Tusker House breakfast, so I made our Yachtsman ressie for 6:35. The walk from World Showcase was nice and I saw the awesome pool there, and wow it looks amazing. The Yacht Club looked like a very classy place to stay! We arrived near our adr time, and waited about 5 minutes. The decor and atmosphere was very upscale and formal.

enjoying your review...and I think your review of Narcoosee's just decided me to try Citricos next trip instead!

That bread at Yachtsman's looks scrumptious...can't wait to see the entrees!

How do you get pictures of the menus to come out? Every time I try, get nothing but glare from the flash...if I turn off the flash, picture is too dim to see? You must have a way better camera, lol.

Moving right along with the Yachtsman Steakhouse review, for our app selection my DH chose the Ceaser Salad. Now it is all about presentation at these signature restaurants and the lettuce came out in huge stalks. So he had to cut it up along with the croutons, which became very messy! He said the salad was very good though. I chose the seafood salad, it was good, not out of this world though. We could not not keep our hands out of the bread basket and they even brought us more, I am telling you it was that good :)

Onto the entrees my DH chose the New York Strip, and I had the filet. The strip steak was flown in from Australia, which my DH is half Aussie and thought that was kind of cool. OMG, the filet was soooo good there. It was very tender and cooked just the way I wanted it. Their potatoes were good as well, just too many of them to eat.

So after our main entrees, we we were so stuffed, I blame the bread :lmao:, so can you believe we skipped dessert. I didn't want to even see a dessert I was so full. I tell you this deluxe dining will take a toll on your body:rotfl:

Pictures coming right up from the YM!

For breakfast this next morning we went to the best bakery on the planet-Mainstreet Bakery in the MK. We love this place and look forward to the food here at both DL and WDW. Now DL Paris is a real let down as their Mainstreet Bakery didn't really have anything in it compared to the US parks, just a warning for those that want to go to DL Paris. I had the bluberry muffin, what I would not do for one right now :lmao: My husband had his favorite Cinnammon Roll. Since we had our volunteer pins on, I was given a huge cupcake with Kermit the Frog on it. When I saw it I told my husband that looks sooo good, then when they handed it to me I was super excited. This was my fourth time to visit Biergarten. As always the food was fresh and very good:thumbsup2 The schintzel was a little dry, but I fixed that problem by adding plenty of gravey to it. Their sausage was sooo good this time. I even tried this white sausage you have to peel the skin off to eat it. Their pretzel bread is super yum as well. No dessert this time as I wanted to save that for the Cali Grill for dinner. The lunch is $19.99 per person and includes a drink. I would rate Biergarten 9 out of 10.

Now moving on to the California Grill. I have to say this was my favorite meal of the trip. I loved the private escort that takes you up the elevator to some of the most beautiful views I have ever seen. We were seated in the lounge area before being taken to our table. I just could not get over the views at the place! This was a very busy restaurant, dishes clanging, people having a good time, and a very busy kitchen. To my delight we were seated in the quiet wine room with lovely views.

For our entrees my DH had the filet, and oh my was that a great steak. It just melted in your mouth. It was better than my filet at YM, which was a darn good steak! I had the halibut which was fantastic as well. I could not eat much as the sushi roll was all I really needed. So I didn't get to enjoy the halibut like I should have.

For our Stars Wars lunch on Friday we had an ADR at 11:45 right after the parade, which was too cool. This was our second time to dine here and really enjoyed our dinner there last year. I love the theme and the waitstaff aka family is so much fun. Our waitress was not that into it as our last one but it was still a great experience.

vettegirl
07-14-2010, 09:41 PM
Ohana-This is a hard review for me to do as I love Ohana, but the service was awful this time! We had a ressie for 7:30 and were seated promptly. Our sever came by and took our drink orders, and then of course they start bringing the salad right away. We were never given butter for our bread. The salad didn't have much dressing on it this time. Next were the potstickers (which were cold), and the wings (blah). This is were I start getting mad! It is taking these people forever to start brining out the meat! She dropped off the sauces and didn't explain them at all. I could not remember what sauce goes with what meat, whatever! When we were finally able to get meat, they came around with the beef and shrimp. I tried the beef and it was so dry and gross I didn't want anymore. In October it was juicy and flavorful. Maybe the steaks at Cali Grill, and Yachtsman have spoiled me, but come on. So I stuck to the shrimp, their shrimp as so amazing, I must have had 10 :lmao: My DH just had the beef, as we are not fans of the poultry there. The veggies and noodles were good as usual. Now during dinner it was a challenge to get refills on our tea. Also our ice had melted and the waitress must of overheard me, as she brought us glasses of ice, but no tea! Aaaaahhh!! I told her when she finally came by, that we were in a hurry for our dessert as the MK was closing at 9 and I wanted to ride Splash Mountain at least once on our trip and that evening was the only chance I would get. She brings out the dessert and just dumps the carmel sauce everywhere, and she did it in a very rude way!! I was wondering what the heck her problem was, maybe she knew I was mad at the her for the lack of service we were given. I don't even think she said thank you. Well we had our 2 bites of the dessert, which is fab by the way and headed out to MK and were the last ones on Splash for night.

The past two times I have eaten at Ohana it has been magical, this time around was not so magical. I saw my server from the past two times and wish he would have served us this third time. Will I go back to Ohana, maybe for the shrimp and dessert, but this last trip really turned me off. Sorry I did not take pictues this time around.

Oh no! We ADR for Whispering Canyon also. What were your problems with H & V and Whispering Canyon?

H&V was just bad food (when there was food); it was lukewarm, the restaurant was filthy (tables, floors, etc.) and the service was non-existent (took 20 minutes for a drink).

As for WCC, a lot of people LOVE it so don't go by just us. We didn't care about the "hoopla" -- alathough there was NONE while we were there; but the food was not good to us at all (and we LOVE barbecue) and the service was terrible (2 hours wasted). My DH was sick after eating the pork and chicken in the skillet (I didn't eat any of it because the rest of the food was gross in my opinion). The bottomless shakes were good though.

What a great trip report even though I'm late joining in.

We were just at Ohana's on July 5th and our server was a little slow too and she seemed to really not like one person in our party. The food was terrific though so we'll keep it on our must do list and hope management makes some changes to the staff. Another thing I thought was odd was they were not offering turkey on the skewers. Our server said there is a turkey shortage and the only turkey at Disney was the giant legs in the parks. Who knew? LOL

Le Cellier Lunch

I have to say I was very excited to finally try this restaurant. My DH is like yeah, whatever let's eat, but for me this was going to be a treat. We checked in and were seated within 5 minutes. I love how the place feels like you are in a cave, it was very dark and cool. Which was a welcome relief from the heat outside.

We had 2 servers, one was in training. They were both really sweet and knew the menu quiet well. My DH ordered a strawberry smoothie and I had an ice tea. For our apps he had the duck, which he said was tasty and something different from the ordinary. I had a bowl of the cheddar cheese soup. I had it last year at the F&W and even found the recipe and made some at home. This soup was fantastic as I remembered it. The pretzel bread and sourdough bread was excellent as well. Our servers were so attentive, and made sure we were well taken care of.

That is a tough one, but I would give a nod to the Cali Grill for the signature experience. The views are just unbelievable and their service was great as well. The filet at both Le Cellier and CG were fantastic. The CG has sushi, flatbreads, and more adult drink selections.

For our last meal we stopped back by Downtown Disney from Clearwater and had lunch again at Ragland Road. Love it :lovestruc My DH and I shared the sausages from the app menu and a side of fries. Now that the dining plan was overwith that was all we needed. I am sad to say that was the end of our Disney Dining Deluxe experience. I enjoyed trying new restaurants and different foods. However I will never get the deluxe again as it was way more food than any person should eat. On my upcoming solo trip I will be on the regular plan. Too bad you can't sub apps for desserts. Thank you all so much for reading my dining review and cannot wait to start another next month :thumbsup2
