View Full Version : Show Me: Pictures you need a waterproof camera for
So as I try to decide whether to buy the Canon D10 or wait for its replacement, I realised there's no note for waterproof camera photographs here.
So, Show Me! (in fact, show everyone) the photographs that you've taken with your waterproof camera that you just wouldn't have got without it. The ones you just wouldn't have taken with a camera that was afraid of getting a little wet...
Interestingly (to me anyway) the pictures that work for me tend to be video clips rather than still pictures. Not something I had considered before
Anyway, here's one: http://www.flickr.com/photos/atp/3734941441/in/set-72157621564311351/
I'll post more when I get home and can access the ones I've put on YOuTbue

photographically speaking, not the best photo ever.... but cool experience speaking - awesome. this guy was very curious and this would've never happened without an WP/UW camera.

OK, I wouldn't put in underwater, but this is one of my favorite weathersealed camera shots...

These were taken snorkeling on the reef in Belize. They were taken with a D10. They had some recent storms so the water wasn't as clear as it could be. From looking at all our photos I can see why another poster indicated in another thread that the D10 doesn't always focus well when the water is a little murky.

Haven't shared here in a long time. Here are a couple from my little Optio W10. Perfect no worries camera. Get it wet, no problem. Get it sandy, dunk it in the water to wash it off.
These aren't the best, but the're the only ones on my photobucket site right now.

You don't need a waterproof camera for splashy rides that don't end with you being thrown into water, like this:

Thanks Alan
A really old P+S. A Sony DSC P-100. (My very first digital camera and I still use it) And I bought a cheap waterproof bag to fit it from ebay. :)
They're probably sharp cause I sharpened and increased the contrast in Photoshop. Straight out of the camera they were a little flat.
