Hey, Christy, thanks for sending that thunder, lightning, and rain down here from Vermont! It did cool things off overnight - finally.
Bad night last night - totally unrelated to anything else going on in my nutty world right now. Sigh. I'll get through it, but honestly? Didn't sleep much at all.
Busy afternoon and evening ahead with a Girl Scout meeting here and then we have to race right out to a band concert - will try to pace myself/nap a bit in the morning. HA!...Sometimes I even make myself laugh....:lmao:

Mornin' all.. LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!!!
I'm currently sitting here w/ my towel wrapped around my head trying to catch up on things before I leave for Awards @ the MS. NO awards are being announced at the HS because they are still taking finals and have graduation rehearsal this afternoon.... Guess our underclassmen are not being rewarded at all for any of their accomplishments... than the school system wonders why the kids today don't sing the praise of the schools... HMMMM, maybe because you are zapping any self-esteem, self-worth they have.... but hey, I'm just a dumb parent... WHATEVER!
Today:
older kids off to school
go to MS @ 8:45 for awards at 9am
pick up N from last day of kdg.. NO more kdg. pick up line w/ the crazy parents!!!! :yay:

PBF--I didn't get to check in last night, but when I read your story from the assembly yesterday, my heart just broke for you and your DS. Sending lots of prayers and pixie dust that they get a clue and you are able to find a good place for him!
Here's my list for today:

All of your support and encouragement with this crap means so much to me. Thanks, to so many of you here for helping me get through this...I really appreciate it.

Back from the doctor.
Number didn't move at all.
Have medicine to start taking tonight.
It is hereditary. Both Grandmothers had it, sister has it, now me. Hope I didn't pass this on to my boys. At least I don't have the high blood pressure to go with it. 90/60 is pretty good.
Oh yeah, no cheese, sweets or sausage. The no cheese is going to be hard.
PrincessNancy96
05-27-2010, 11:00 AM
Ugh! Sorry AWM!!!
Let's get these meds in tonight and let them start doing their job..
No cheese... oh man..thats the best protein!!! (at least here it is!)
PrincessNancy96
05-27-2010, 11:04 AM
Got our list emailed for next year's school supplies.. I have everything already but 2 items... now, girls.. I love my bargain shopping and penny sales at Staples... I think I'm just going to have to buy like I don't have anything cause it just wouldn't be back to school if I didn't! :)
morgansmom2000
05-27-2010, 11:22 AM
Ann did they take your blood pressure before or after they told you the results? :lmao:
Either way, do what you need to to stay healthy!
I'm back from my quick jaunt to Big Lots. No new ones for my girls' lists. :(
PinballFamily
05-27-2010, 11:36 AM
Sorry, Ann. That so stinks. Good luck with the meds and the modified diet. (Of those, I'd have the toughest time with no cheese, too!)
Nan - you are so lucky to have "with it" schools. Here, we're lucky if we get the supply lists a day or two before school starts in September. Yep...AFTER all the supply sales which start in July...:headache: - oy! I usually buy stuff at the sales anyway, and hope for the best. Of course, there's always one or two insanely specific things..."a 1 1/2 inch red binder..." that I end up having to pay full price for that really steams me, but at least I save on the rest.
D did call to say they made it safely and the Dynamic Duo are checked in and making their way to Downtown Disney for the afternoon.

PBF
Pixie dust for Blythe
Pixie dust for Linda's MIL
AWM, and good luck with icky diet.
Nan, all I can say is WOW! I can't believe your school has already given you lists for next year. I always have a stock pile of school supplies hanging around, but my DS would be so upset if I told him I had everything already for next year when this year hasn't even ended!!!:rotfl:
Thanks everyone for the anniversary wishes. My fingers are crossed that DH gets home at a decent time to go to dinner as he's been in Orlando for meetings and is driving back today. And, can you believe he was that close to Mickey and wouldn't go give him a hug for me????:confused3
PrincessNancy96
05-27-2010, 11:54 AM
We use get the supply list early....but it's the book rental costs that we never know about til the week before it's due... I despise book rental....I've got it already budgeted (guesstimation of cost).. DH and I will keep one arm and one leg a piece! LOL
DIT ~ what was he thinking? He could have run over on his lunch hour... or just skipped out on that afternoon mtg all together.. priorities!!! (well, maybe he is thinking..college education! LOL)
AlexWyattMommy
05-27-2010, 12:14 PM
Thanks guys. I knew I would need meds eventually. I was just hoping to put it off a little more.
I did not know I would have to give up my major food group. I eat cheese at every meal. My salads are going to be a little plain now. :sad1:

05-27-2010, 12:38 PM
 Ann that is going to be a tough one. maybe one you get it down a bit you can add some back in. that's what Dad got to do.
:wizard: for your MIL linda, it's never easy on them and harder on us.
Pam hang in there with the schools, how long before you should hear on if he gets in? oh yeah you welcom for the storm we had TORNADO warnings ummm hello i live in Vermont!!!
Nan yay for end of school. I'm soooo ready

So sorry for the news Ann! That stinks! But way to go with that great BP!
Linda- It's so sad about MIL. I hope she starts to feel easier...
Nan- We always got the lists early too. But that book stuff always was a trial!!
DIT- have a great anniv!
BAMB- Ummmm... yeah, I wish you luck on your "mission"
My DS21 (who will be 22 on Monday) and DH are out car shopping for him. He is getting something, and DS18 will move into his van... I hope they can find something!

Yes, in the state of Indiana we still "RENT" our books...
One book DS13's 7th grade year...had about 200 pages missing.. it was printed that way!!!
I think some of the books have been paid for 10 times over.....
Sometimes we pay for workbooks but there is NOT enough to go around..and the kids can NOT write in them; instead on a separate sheet of paper...and they must stay in the classroom... Wouldn't upset me so much if we didn't pay full price for them and then NEVER see them. Heck, last year one of DD's classes didn't have enough hardback books... :( It was a major class too.. biology!

Nan, did you need to borrow my PassPorter before the trip?
AWM, sorry to hear about you needing the meds. Good for you for eating right and exercising in efforts to try to ward off the meds.
Happy Anniversary, Stephanie. How dare DH go to Orlando and not bring you so you could see another one of your favorite guys on your special day. ;) lol
PBF, If we don't laugh, we'd cry, right? Hang in there, my friend. Didn't see what happened at the concert, but I have a feeling it wasn't nice. :headache:
Nancy, our kids still have another three weeks of school!
SIOH, so happy Blythe is doing better!! That really made my day.
Linda, :hug::hug:
Danica, have fun!!!! but not too much!! ;) :rotfl2:
My to do list for today:
Clean out stinky pete boxes
feed the cats before they get too vocal!
Get DD up and ready for school
Throw of piece of Mt Washmore into the wash
Fold all the laundry :scared1:
caffeinate
work
check with MomE
go to the grocery store for cat food
Dinner
take DD to see Grumpa for the probably for the last time. He is now on oxygen and sleeps most of the time. Visit didn't happen because a noisy, judgmental woman "friend" was there. I can't stand being around this woman and won't subject my DD to her presence. Wouldn't you think after two multi visits lasting several hours each day, she would have the decency to let family visit? :headache:
Check with MomE.
PrincessNancy96
