I haven't been on my cruise yet, and when I go it will be on the eastern itinerary. I have purchased the CD Beauty and the Beat and I love it! I work at a Hallmark store and we sell CD's and cassettes by Hallmark music. We have a CD called "Tropical Nights" that I purchased and I thought that I would let you all know that it has great tropical music, but I think it is more appropriate for the Western itinerary. Like I said, I haven't been, but the music has a sort of, south of the border flavor to it. I thought that some of you might be interested in listening to it, if you do let us know your opinion of it. And if anyone else can suggest another CD to purchase, please do! I have quite a while to go with my cruise and I'm looking for anything to keep me in the cruise frame of mind. Thanks!:p

A Disney Dreams CD is always good to put you into a Disney cruise frame of mind...hubby knows all the songs, but I think that they are: "Bibbedy Bobbedy Boo" and "So This Is Love" from Cinderella, "What a Puzzle to the Rest of Us is Belle" and "Beauty and the Beast," and "There's Something There That Wasn't There Before" from "Beauty and the "Beast," "A Whole New World" and "Prince Ali," from "Aladdin," "A Whole New World" and "Under the Sea" from "Little Mermaid" and "I Just Can't Wait to Be King" and "Circle of Life" from "Lion King."

I would go with the "Cocktail" soundtrack. It has 2 musts for any tropical vacation: "Kokomo" by the Beach Boys and "Don't Worry, Be Happy" by Bobby McFerrin.

No one should cruise to the Caribean, East or West with out the best of Harry Belefonte, The Banana Boat Song is my Favorite. Pick up a pair of those inexpensive external speakers at best Buy for your personnel CD player for the room. The Battery Powered ones are a bit more but have much better sound quality.:smooth:

Thanks, everyone, for the responses! I think I will go out and get some more CD's for my collection! I'll listen to anything as long as it doesn't have "Copacabana"! We have a CD at work and it plays that song all the time! Keep the suggestions coming!

My very very favorite is a cd I picked up at Amazon for all of $8 called "Steel Drum Party." As soon as the first note comes out of the stereo, I am back up on deck 10, breeze in my hair, Malibu Colada in my hand, sun on my face. It fills me with both memories, and anticipation of the next voyage -- a mere 5 1/2 months away. :D

Here you can get more info on the cd here. (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00002CF4M/102-8575753-0108169)

And don't forget "A Little Bit of Mickey" and "Livin' La Vida Mickey". Both of which are available on CD's sold at the little coffee/book shop in MGM on New York Street.

Of course I agree that Jimmy Buffett fits the bill if you want to get in the tropical mood, but I also always bring my Enya CD (I think it's Shepard Moon) so I can listen to "Caribbean Blue" while I am sitting at Cinnamon Bay in St. John's, Orient Bay Beach in St. Maartens, Blue Lagoon Island in the Bahamas or even Castaway Cay. Ahhhhh, simply the best.:sunny:
