Good morning! It's my last working Monday, since we're off next Monday for Memorial Day!! Just 9 working days (counting today) til Summer Vacation!!

Blythe had a scary day yesterday. She had some stuff get backed up in her ventilator, it got clogged, and she couldn't breathe and turned blue. They were able to get it resolved quickly, but it was hard for her little body to rest after that. She has her scan today on the cranial bleed again. Please send pixie dust and prayers that it is shrinking/has reabsorbed!

Here's my list for today:

1. Up
2. Caffeinate
3. Pack lunches
4. DS's stuff together
5. DS up
6. DS to mom's
7. Work--big list there. . .hoping everyone gets their grades in so I can leave on time!
8. Pick up DS a few minutes early
9. Come home and get me & DS ready
10. Get camera and MIL's present
11. Go to MIL's retirement party
12. Come home and collapse!

I hope everyone has an awesome Monday!

Prayers and dust for Baby Blythe!

Note to self - clean house and minimalize before I get too old. Sign self into assisted living BEFORE I think I need to.

We are cleaning out my mil's house. She was always this fastidious woman but somewhere in the last decade things got out of control. She's giving them a real hard time about moving, even though we made her little appartment look just like home (only cleaner). Then we started on the house. Oye. we're not talking dust kitties here, we're talking a whole cage full of tigers. And stuff - oh my. She was so secretive we figured it must be treasure. HAH. So far 30 giant trash bags, one banana box of stuff for the church rummage sale, and a very small box of stuff for DH and Sis.

Today, i'm bringing a dust mask and a healthy lunch. Disney seems very far away!!!

Happy day, all!

Good Morning!

Prayers and positive thoughts and evergy going to baby Blythe this morning. Let us know how it goes. She's got a lot of people pulling for her...

I had the *best* time yesterday. Went to my BFF's house for a BBQ. The kids are old enough now that they can entertain themselves, so they were out exploring (Les lives in a semi wooded area). I got to sit with Leslie and visit with a nice bottle of wine (ok several bottles of wine). It was good for the soul. She is like my sister. In fact, she introduces me as "this is Rhonda, the mother of my children". She loves my kids so much (she has none of her own - no nieces or nephews either), so of course my kids call her "Aunt Leslie". Anyway it was a great day...

Beautiful day day. I have a massive headache that I've had for a few days now and looks like I will have to break out the narcotics for relief - hopefully I will be able to get some of my list done.

Today...

Laundry
Make up kids' chore lists (trying out a new system)
Call my Nanny
Check up on my Sis in Canada
Call Meg
Make up grocery list
Dust first floor
Tidy first floor
Clean kitchen
Purge stuff in fridge
Make a doc appointment
Plan dinner
Pick up the Bean
Rearrange Gazebo (got a new chair and *need* to make it work)
Max home
Supervise homework time

Have a *wonderful* day everyone:goodvibes

More hugs and prayers to Blythe.

I'm home from work today with DS6...he's sick. Poor thing, I almost took him to school thinking it was just sinus drainage, but I'm so glad I didn't. We're camping on the couch today. He hasn't missed any school all year, and now he gets sick with 4 more days. Isn't that the way it goes?

Hope everyone has a good Monday!

Checking in!

Prayers and Pixie Dust for Blythe! What a trooper - I hope the scan gives them info they need!

Monday....

Dishes soaking, dishwasher running
Bed stripped - mattress pad ready for dryer, sheets going in
DD is playing playdoh
Getting vouchers completed so we can be reimbursed for $$ paid out to start construction process
Power Co supposed to be onsite today to replace woodpecker destroyed pole and run power to permanent pole at housesite.
Get to PO and hope coffee shipment for Tassimo machine is there! I have been out 3 days!:scared1:
Mail pkg back - ordered wrong item for DDs saddle
Go meet "disbursement specialist" working with us on house - give her vouchers and copies of contracts, etc so she can cut me a check!!
Tempted to go to my Michaels and see if paper is on sale - too bad I bought a bunch last week! - is there a "what is going to be on sale" crystal ball somewhere??

OK - off to switch the laundry! For those of you headed to Disney or almost done with school I am jealous. Thinking of booking a secret trip for Halloween to Disneyland - school not out here until June 17th.

Just back from DS's reading comprehension evaluation. Took hours - he's wiped out, but I just got to sit and read (and worry) during that time. No headline yet until she runs the scores, but she is very direct, a forthright "no-nonsense" expert in her field, and she seems pretty concerned about him. Sigh. We'll talk again next week and receive her official report after that.

It is probably too early to have a drink (ha!), so I'll just start doing some housework, ugh. It is a beautiful day here, but I'm just a bit too tense to do much of anything else.

Thanks for being here, you guys! It helps to vent to the "friends in the box!"

Hope all improves for Blythe - these recent developments must be so terrifying for the family. :grouphug:

Oh, I'd love to hear more about this. Summer starts on Wednesday next week and I'm thinking we need to start out with a strong plan.

Today:
last week's clean laundry put away :headache:
more laundry to wash
more laundry to put away
clean off desk
research campus visits
online banking
customer calls
actual work

I seem to be avoiding a few things. I think I was up too late watching Lost!

Dusting Baby Blythe again, just for good measure.

WAHOO Deb! What's taking her so long to leave for pete's sake?? YOU"re ready to move now!!!!

Things did NOT go well in Indiana today. Old lady went ballistic, tried to climb out the window. Tried to breakout the door. Yelled blue murder. kicked a nurse. tried to deck the charge nurse. They called for back up. My dh, the SARGE, is with her tonight. My goal is to do whatever it takes to get my sister in law to Florida and on her Disney cruise a week from Friday!

Now, where is that wine y'all were talking about??

oh linda hang in there. this could be a long road and hopefully she will settle down in a few days. Prayers that it is a short road. Nana would be the same way. she'd be kicking and screaming the whole time. Hopefully DH calms her down. I don't know about out there but here they will medicate them because that behavior can't be tolerated.

:grouphug: for you Linda!

As for me, I'd love to slide right into her old position and schedule, but they don't do it that way in my department. They called in the casual people to work her hours on the current schedules. I told him (big boss) yesterday, better sooner than later for me, but it's looking like August due to vaca's and being made short staffed on dayshift if I move before that...

But it's coming :woohoo: I feel like a weight has been lifted! :teeth:

Oh, my. Linda - how stressful! The old girl still has spunk and strength, huh? But - wow! Layer upon layer of stuff you're dealing with - hugs! (Need any Greek food???!!!)

Deb - totally awesome! Hope the time between now and the new shift flies by! Sounds like the answer to your prayer!

Christy - yep, a week to hear back with test results is pretty unheard of for us too. Usually, it is a month or so if we're lucky. But, we're all under the gun to get stuff wrapped up (or not and then head to court or the equivalent) by the end of the school year, since we have no idea where DS *should* go to school in Sept. But, especially after yesterday, it looks a LOT less likely that it will be the local public middle school. :sad1: It was a tough night here for DH and me...and the DDs who are also in the loop and trying to help as much as they can.

Thanks, Christy!

I just put two private school applications in the mail and will send out two more tomorrow. These are schools that DSs neuropsychologist had suggested as the top choices that he'd recommend. Sigh. I can't even imagine the battle the district is going to put up - this is gonna get ugly - ok, uglier! - fast.

You guys are the best. TB - get those polka dotted clown pants ready that you wore when you had to go visit our mayor, practically stand on his desk and demand that the district send your DS to the right school...we're gonna need them!

joyah
05-25-2010, 01:20 PM
Oh my I think I'd like to see TB in those pants standing on the mayors desk!! The metal picture is giving me giggling fits.

Hang in there and hopefully it wont be a HUGE battle. Let's think positive and since they know that you will call the state back in that they will just give up:lmao::rotfl2: we can hope any way.

Too late for my Monday to do list but I wanted to comment on a few things.

PD for Blythe, her parents and family.

Stayed up WAY too late watching Lost last night, and I'm still lost lol. Still trying to wrap my brain around it.

No kidding, between watching and reading the preview on televisionwithoutpity, I am still lost, and for the record, I am not pleased how it ended, I still have many questions.

Steph

Is DS feeling better?

Just back from DS's reading comprehension evaluation. Took hours - he's wiped out, but I just got to sit and read (and worry) during that time. No headline yet until she runs the scores, but she is very direct, a forthright "no-nonsense" expert in her field, and she seems pretty concerned about him. Sigh. It is probably too early to have a drink (ha!), so I'll just start doing some housework, ugh. It is a beautiful day here, but I'm just a bit too tense to do much of anything else.

It's noon somewhere, go for it!

MomE is hitting the wine too. Tonight she got a call that the center is refusing to feed him and she NEEDS to come down and straighten them out.

It's so difficult for previously very independent people to admit they need assistance. Hang in there, and yes, use a mask.
