View Full Version : What happens when your DVC Membership card expires?

Just noticed that the back of my DVC Membership Card says it is valid through 10/31/02. Has anyone had their card expire? Do you get a new one? How long was it good for? Wonder why you don't get a card that is good through 1/31/2042?

I know I can use my resort ID to get the member discounts when we stay at the DVC resorts, but what about the discount at the Disney Store at home. Do you think I will have a problem getting it after 10/31? (That's a bad time for my card to expire - right before the Christmas shopping begins, LOL).

OK, now I am wondering what happens when someone sells their DVC membership. Could they still use their card to get the Disney Store discount? How does MS keep track of all those membership cards?

Yikes! Re-read my post and it sounds like someone needs to get a life! I think I've had too much coffee this morning!

Just looked on the back of my card and it dow not have an expiration date? Anyone else?

Mine doesn't have any expiration date- but if I remember correctly the paper temporary cards we got did. Our 'official plastic cards' only have a signature and phone numbers on the back.

Our cards expire on 10/31/2002 too and are getting pretty worn. We mentioned this too our guide when we were there in May and she said that everyone will be getting new cards by this fall. Hope they come before they expire!

Mine is a plastic, credit-card-like card as well. Must have gone to a "no expiration date" card after we joined (11/99). Guess I will give MS a call and see what they say.

My card is also going to expire. They used to send little date stickies to put over the expiration date.

I hope the new ones come soon.:(

Our original BWV DVC plastic card expires in 10/02. They sent us four new cards in April that don't expire when they sent the cards for the OKW resale, and new BWV cards.

The old card didn't have raised letter/numbers, the new one does.

It costs $80 a point to replace those cards. But if you want to continue being a DVC member, you will pay it. Good thing for me, mine do not have an expiration date. Mine will last until Jan 31, 2042.

We just closed on our resale about a month ago and have not received our cards. How long does it take for them to be sent?

Mickey - took us about six weeks to receive the cards on the resale.
