 Christy....
I've been lazy this morning, but that's going to have to change. I need to clean up the kitchen--DH made a roast for dinner last night and put the leftovers away, but he didn't get the rest cleaned before he went to bed (worked midnight shift last night and working 24 hour shift today).
My dcousin is going into the Coast Guard and leaves next week. She's having a going away dinner this evening. Before that, I'd like to work on the Halloween pages I have laid out on the table--they've been laid out for a few days, and they were out for a couple weeks back in February, but I can't decide what to do with them.
If I get that done, I need to sort the 300 pics I got back from Winkflash last week-they are labled, they just need sorted. That's the worst part!
I hope everyone has a good day......

 Christy. Wish I had words to help you through the day.
Power went out last night. Will be spending the day cleaning up from that. :confused3 Why do kids think their toys are more fun with a flashlight? I think they took out each and every one of them.
Hope everyone has a good Saturday.

 to you Christy...
Flashlights are fun! I bet it was like hunting for buried treasure.
Kids are out cycling with Randy. I am cleaning up the house, listening to Simon and Garfunkel. I've been going through a horrible fibro flare - but the last two days have been better and now I'm itching to do stuff. I just have to remember to PACE myself - or else I'll just end up back in the same place.
We'll be going out to Target to pick up a chaise longe for me :cloud9: and then to Home Depot for propane. Randy was BBQing steak tips this week and ran out of gas half way though:eek:. No problem I say - we have the back up tank...ummm "we emptied that one last year". What's the point of the back up if its' EMPTY!!! Tips were pretty rare that night:laughing:
My BFFSS (soul sister) lost her cat last week. He just started breathing funny and she took him into Angell Memorial (one of the top Vet hospitals in the country) and there was nothing they could do for him. Some kind of tumour...Anyway we are going to buy a nice perennial that she can plant in her garden in his memory.
It's a beautiful day here. We will be grilling and having Margaritas tonight:3dglasses And now that PBF isn't working anymore (seesh - I had needs ya know) I'll be calling her next week saying "whatcha doing?";)
Have a great day everyone...

Good! I've missed you and everyone else! I feel like I'm going to get my life back. I honestly don't know how you guys with part and full-time jobs outside the home do it. I had been an at-home mom for 13 years before the census gig - the house/family kinda fell apart in those nine weeks!
Just got back from DS's Challenger baseball this morning - what a fun program. (I did spend most of the time sitting with my clipboard of summer swap signups and finally designed what I'll be doing for each group and altered letter!)
I'll be spending the day puttering around my messy house trying to figure out what to begin to reclaim first! (Starting in DS's room - looks like a bomb hit it!) I told him *then* we'll begin work on his b-day party invites...
Just started making the dough for rolls for meatball sammies for dinner... The two DDs are out for the day (work and friends), DH is just out the door now to the gym and then to meet up with his other magician buddies for the afternoon. So, it will be nice and quiet for most of the day - whew!
Z2H and I will spend some time tonight preparing for one of our favorite days of the year tomorrow - the annual Absolutely Everything (our LSS here in MA now) yard sale. We'll post tomorrow and tell you how we made out! It is a terrific event!!! Went for the first time last year and simply could not believe it! Maybe we'll see some of the local DIS folks there...?

Hey there all!
Working today from 8-4, then going on Codzilla from 4-5, so I can go to Lou's house afterwards so I can walk to babysitting from 6:30 to midnight... then crashing once I get home, because we have to be up early for the yard sale tomorrow!

:hug:Christy-praying for ya girl.
I slept until 11 today-it was awesome!!! First Saturday in about 3 months where we didn't have to be at a baseball game in the morning. Little kids are done with baseball, DS13 is still going but at least it's just down to one now. Today I'm going to the mall and Archiver's, then back home to work on swaps for a little while before DS13's game at 6:30. Neighborhood pool opened yesterday but it's a little chilly outside and the water's freezing! Kids are begging to go so we'll probably end up there tonight after the game.
Have a great day everybody!!! :)

Just saw this thread...most of my day is already done. We got up early and drove up to Rocky Mountain National Park. We stopped in Estes Park to order a pie. Did a 4 mile hike, then drove to a little lake and walked around it for another mile. Last year, we went up here this same weekend and did some hikes higher up. This year, we have had so many storms that there are still several feet of snow in some areas. Stopped back in Estes Park to pick up the pie, and I visited the small scrapbook store. Took the scenic route back home, and now we are doing a couple things at the house before we go out to dinner.
I am exhausted, and feel really out of shape. But DH keeps reminding me that we were gaining 1000 ft of elevation in a little over a mile and we're starting at 8000 ft. I should be tired. Hopefully, my knees and legs won't kill me tomorrow.

I haven't had time on the computer till now..but I will tell you my evening will be spent crying..and discussing my DH's continued procrastination and the fact that the door frames are not up in my hallway and the party is tomorrow at 2pm.. so everyone will arrive by 1pm...they always do.... and I'm upset that DH let eldest go to a party tonight when he had responsibilities here.... and we agreed upon them.... and I'm just overly sad that yet again.... oh well... it is what it is... thanks for listening..now time to go cry and get it over with.... :(

Hugs, Christy! Sleep well, my friend!
Man PBF< I wish I was there for the sale tomorrow rather than here.
We rolled in about five, went over to sil's there were about a zillion people there - in laws, outlaws, inlaws inlaws, oye. after about an hour, dh says is it time to go yet? (I'm ready dear) . . . back to New York? Oh. well, I'm ready for that but we're committed to be here for a week, old buddy, and these are YOUR family, not mine.
Thank HEAVEN for hotels, even though it's costing me an arm and a leg.
Hope, your day sounds wonderful! but SNOW. Brrrr.
Sleep well everyone. see you tomorrow.

Nancy sending lots of hugs your way. Men they just don't get it. I've so been that road. Hang in there and vent away that's what we're here for
Linda glad you arrived safely. sometimes it so nice to not be close to the family and hotels are a god send.
Sleep was not all that great but it will come. I'm mentally and physically exhausted so I expected it. we had a hell of a party just like she wanted but I know that 2 of the 3 are taking this past hard. And while the party was great I'm thinking it's going to leave them with more of an empty feeling.
back to bed for a bit then off to a fishing derby.

I'm so sorry Christy. Hugs to you and all of them. I know that feeling and it stinks real bad.
sorry Nan. Vent away. Hugs go you as well.
have a nice party.
I've read it all and missed all of you yesterday. Bubba had his end of the year campout for cubscout. He rec'd a boat load of patches, pins and beltloops!
They all had a blast! I'm exhausted. I just left dh. We were the only too awake. I slept at home and dh called at 4:15 and said come up and sit by the fire and have a coffee with him. So I threw on some clothes took a drive up and it is soooo peaceful there right now. But I'm sure it's going to get nutty when 90 -yup 90- boys get up for breakfast time!!!
I cooked them lunch yesterday and it gets crazy! I'll go back and cook breakfast in a little while. I told dh to call me when they start set up and I'll go back. Dh was taking the canoue out when I left. He is on cloud nine. Fishing on the lake at sunrise. What's better than that??!! ( for him
anyways! Not me!!)

Good Morning, Girls!
:hug:Christy. You have to grieve, but Life goes on and the pain will lessen with time.
PO3, When we used to camp, that was my favorite time of day to go skinny dipping but I sure wouldn't do it at boyscout camp, lol. Now, the old lady is with you - she wants a bed and convenient porcelain facilities!:rotfl:
Happy day, All!

Romantic? No, but it was good.
I got a ton of stuff for Morgan's birthday party. Christmas Tree Shop has flip flop party ware in red white and blue! Sooooo adorable. Found flip flop suncatchers, flip flop frames, flip flop key chains, and flip flops! Need to check another store to see if they have more smaller sized flip flops, but we're mostly done ;)
Got some Bazzill at the new Mike's (5/$1!!) and my paper for the ABC swap.
Yeah, outdoor shower? No thanks.

Holly, those cubscout camps are so much fun. That was my first ever camping experience. I'd sleep in the tent with DH & DS, but then I'd sneak home for a nice warm shower with the excuse I had to check on the cats! DH loved those campouts, he loved hanging out with the other Dads and the boys and just doing "guy" stuff. Enjoy it!!!:goodvibes
Jennifer, sounds like you are making good progress on Morgan's party!!!:thumbsup2

thank you all ladies it's been such a nice day even though I was up witht he roosters to go to a fishing derby. boys both caught their limits. I'm thinking icecream looks good for dinner. but I have to share this story......
Linda's sister Carol asked her how we would know she was still around and she told her that she's be a butterfly or a bird well the next day a yellow and black butterfly was sitting at her daughters house and stayed for like 5 hours let all the kids hold it and would land on your hand. after it left one appeared at her favorite cousins house for a while. so no one had seen it for a day or 2 and this am at the fishing derby here comes one and it flew all around us and next thing we knew there was a second one. Linda was Tom's mothers best friend so we figured that was our visit. I tried so hard to get pictures of the 2 of them to no avail........
after that we decided it was a great day to plant the garden some friends came to learn how and then the kids played for a bit.
now I'm cooked like a lobster and ready for dinner.
Holly I loved campout Tom and I cooked for the whole pack and families LOVED it!
Jennifer what a nice way to spend time that is something Tom and i don't due. We are always last on the list.
linda I so see you doing that.;)
My dcousin is going into the Coast Guard and leaves next week. She's having a going away dinner this evening. Steph
Steph, is she going to be at the Coast Guard Academy in New London, CT? If so tell her if she needs anything, to let you know and I'll get it down to her. I live about an hour from there. BAMB is about 40 minutes from there.
PN96, don't you hate it when your spouse renigs on an agreement which involves the kids. Drives me crazy when DH does that to me with DD.
Christy, :hippie:
Saturday was my fun day. I went to the LSS for one of their tag sales. DH and I got wood. Well, he got it. I am still in a no touch wood mode after my exposure of poison oak last year. Then we met MomE for lunch.

Christy want an awesome story! I love it. Thank you for sharing it. I needed that today. Hugs to you.
Mr Crockett just loves the camping stuff too. I did a lot of the cooking and serving. I was happy to do it. It allowed me to he there with my boys and take the pics I needed!!!! The hiked out to a rock in the middle of the place and it is called echo rock and myself and a few mothers were calling it fraggle rock! So bubba thinks that's the name of it! He's funny!
Stephanie i think you are right about the dads hanging by the fire talking. Dh loved that part!
I hope everyone had a great day! I am exhausted.

I think so. Do you have some ideas?
Woah! How did you get 5/1 Bazzill? Not that I need more paper...
Mike's had 12x12 on sale, $5/1 (regularly $.59), but the 8.5x11 Bazzill was ringing up 5/$1 too (but not in Millbury, in Natick it did and I think Holly said North Attleboro too.)

Different width ribbons, fun fur fiber, plastic pony beads. Everything can be tied on, no hot glue needed. :thumbsup2 Just make sure the knots are on top, or they kinda hurt.
