Based on the class descriptions, the EPCOT class would be the only one he might be able to do, but I can always ask. The worst they can say is no. If there is enough interest in that class, I'm happy to coordinate it too.:goodvibes

We would SO be interested in doing this, except like kimisabella, we also are leaving for home on December 18th. Shoot, if it was just a few days earlier, we would LOVE to do it.

I hope it works out for you. I think kids would love an in-park learning experience like that. I know I would love it too. Sounds fun! :thumbsup2

I have organized these YES programs for my Boy Scout Troop on 2 trips (in 2000 & 2007). The programs are amazing and lots of fun for the kids. I took kids ages 6th-12th grade.

True, the park ticket discount is available for the adults, but all of the=ose adults canoot atttend the class. Just be aware you are limited to 2 or 3 adults for every 10 kids in the class.

The American Story was great for the fact we got to see the presidents up & close before the park opened. It really made an impact on the kids learning about them in school.

In any event- it is well worth it! Have fun! :thumbsup2

Awesome - glad to see an interest for making this happen!

Not only would it be a great opportunity for the kids (I know mine love animals and AK), a large discount on tickets, and possibly some alone park time for the parents.... it's a win/win/win situation!!

Bump.... We need 3 more to have a class.

It took me three times to read your post.

The first time I thought you said: "We need 3 more to have class." And I thought, no you are some classy folks.

The second time I read: "We need 3 more to have a glass." And I knew there was no formal quorum for DISers imbibing in beverages.

I'd offer mine, but they all have four legs and might get eaten by something.

Each child registered may also purchase 1 adult ticket. How nice!!I have only one child, so that means that I can only purchase one adult pass? I thought for open enrollment that you can purchase as many as you wish.

We're going to be in Tampa on the 18th and our APs expire on the 19th. Did you arrange for the morning or afternoon class? We might consider driving over for the day for the class.

I assume that these tickets must be used by a certain date and expire 14 days after first use, right? I know that they cannot be upgraded.

This is not an open enrollment class, so I adult ticket per student. If open enrollment becomes available that would be awesome.

I am going for the morning class (8am).

You have 7 days before your arrival date and 7 days after to use your park tickets.

Hope that answered your questions.

We definitely want to do this. I'm actually going to surprise the girls with this class since it will be our last day and they'll just think we are leaving to go home. :woohoo: We have five little girls ages 12 down to 5 (going into 7th, 5th, 3rd, 2nd and Kindergarten). Hopefully our five year old will be able to join in on the fun too. Thanks for organizing this DVCsince02.

BTW Jen, my girls did that line from Children's Place for Easter this year too! It was suh a cute line!

Sooooo excited and can hardly wait!!:cheer2:

Spoke with Heidi with the Y.E.S. program. The 5 year olds will not be able to attend the class. :( I explained that I was told differently and was told I was misinformed.

Hi Jen/DVCsince02,
Yes, We'd like to participate. Would it be possible for me to chaperone as well, and if not, can adults just go and watch the group do their class? I think my 7 year old will be shy/scared since this will be her first time to WDW.
Please put us down for this class. She will be in 2nd grade this fall.
Oh and i read on another thread that when you sign the group up for the class, you can put down the earliest arrival and latest departure date of all the members of the group that are participating so that everyone will not need to worry about the use days (7days before arrival/7 days after departure)
Thanks!

3 Day Premium YES Open Enrollment Ticket = $158.34

4 Day 1 Park YES Open Enrollment Ticket = $135.16
4 Day Park Hopper YES Open Enrollment Ticket = $151.13
4 Day Premium YES Open Enrollment Ticket = $167.11

5 Day 1 Park YES Open Enrollment Ticket = $141.73
5 Day Park Hopper YES Open Enrollment Ticket = $157.70
5 Day Premium YES Open Enrollment Ticket = $173.68

6 Day 1 Park YES Open Enrollment Ticket = $150.55
6 Day Park Hopper YES Open Enrollment Ticket = $166.52
6 Day Premium YES Open Enrollment Ticket = $182.51

7 Day 1 Park YES Open Enrollment Ticket = $157.15
7 Day Park Hopper YES Open Enrollment Ticket = $173.12
7 Day Premium YES Open Enrollment Ticket = $189.11

My eight day no-hop ticket was $245.95.
If I could "return" it, and get Y.E.S. ticket...
8 Day Park Hopper = $179.75
I could go to Universal for a day with the money I saved!

IF I could get a Y.E.S. ticket, could I get it to use starting December 5?

I think it all depends on how the class is booked. I think one can set the arrival date for the class booking as "the earliest arrival date for all the members in your group". And at the same time, one can set the departure date for this class booking as the "latest departure date for all the members in your group".
If I'm not mistaken, I don't think Jen has completed/confirmed the booking yet? I think we're still waiting for more members?

Think Disney would not like that? They would notice the non-family resemblance?

Jen I just joined the board, so I can't PM you, but I'm planning a trip with my kids during that time and wanted to find out if it's too late to jump on board? My son is in the 2nd grade and we'll be there the 16th to the 19th ... thanks!

Hey all!

We had one drop out and one possible late entry. If I don't hear from her over the weekend I will be ordering the tickets on Monday. Everything is all set!

Meeting location for the class is - Outside the AK theme park main entrance at the flagpole.

If I don't see you before that, see you there!

I just found the disboards earlier this week and ran across this trip - my wife and kids (11 & 8) are planning to visit Disney during this timeframe. Is there any way you could add two more kids (and mom and dad)? I'll PM the OP as well...

Is it too late to sign up? I have a 2nd grader and also a Kindergartener. I know the young one would love to go with her sister and I'd be happy to attend with her but not sure what the protocol is on this? We'd need tickets for the 4 of us. (2 adults/2 children) Thanks!

I am so sorry, but I can't accept any more students. There is a thead on the budget forum for those looking for a group. Good luck.

Should we be at the flagpole by 8:30, or earlier?

Also, if I have nothing better to do, can I tag along w/ my kid even if I'm not a chaperone?

If you can be at the flag pole by 8:15am, that would be perfect. :goodvibes

Sorry, only chaperones are allowed to go with.

Hey everyone! I have the certificates for those who trooped through the rain to learn about animals and their habitats. PM me with a mailing address if I don't already know how to find you and I will send them out. Make sure to include your child's name so I know which certificates to send where.

And Thanks again Jen for organizing this. Did I mention that our guide Timmy is a DIS'er? I don't remember his board name but maybe he will come look for our thread.
