Yes, my 18 year old's high school graduation!! I am already trying to plan a return trip for my 17 year old's graduation too!!!
I know I am afraid of that spoiled feeling!! We started with CBR and I just kept looking at the Poly and finally made the switch!!
I am sooooo excited I can hardly stand it!! I feel like I am not getting anything else done! And to boot, I am having his graduation party on June 5th!! I keep telling myself to just quit obsessing and concentrate on something else, like maybe work!! hahaha:rotfl::rotfl:

Welcome!!! That sounds like a fun, whirlwind trip! You'll LOVE the Poly and the convenience of the monorail to hop over to MK or to Epcot from the TTC. We're planning on doing that too, taking it easy and spending a lot of resort time just chilling out by the pool and taking in the sights and sounds. The Poly is perfect for this! You're less than a month away now!!!

How are everyone's preparations coming??? I'm working on breaking in 3 new pairs of sandals and my feet are covered with moleskin but hopefully in 2 weeks they'll be all set!!! I also need to start my packing list, but since this is our last day of school, I haven't had ANY time to do it - I'm in full-blown preparation mode as of 3:00 today! Woohooo!!!!!

I just bought a dress and a skirt/top for dinners at Yachtsman and Narcosee's. But I don't have shoes that are comfortable and will match. The dress is a black/white sundress and the skirt is white/black top. So I got a pair of black and white flip flops and will wear those. I'm wearing them as much as possible in the next week in hopes that they are ok. I'll only be wearing them for evenings, at least, and they're not exactly fancy--the Adidas ones with the gel cushion sole. i hope the fashion police don't arrest me, but it IS a themepark, after all!:rotfl:

.... as for our preparations .... the luggage is out and as I do the laundry I'm folding the clothes and putting them right into the suitcases ... I'm about half way there .... ponchos have been found ....

Thanks!!! It's so funny, several students have come back in these past few days to drop off textbooks, pick up their report card, etc. and they tell us they're already bored after only 2 days off (we've had inservice days)! Man, I'm NEVER bored at home, especially when there's some serious Disney planning to do! :lmao:

As far as footwear goes, I'm all about fashion following function at the theme parks! If my feet aren't happy, then I'm not happy!!! Fashion police be darned!!! :rotfl:

Up until 3 days ago we were going in September with Free Dining, but because of work obligations we were able to move the trip to WDW to July 4th for 7 days. That's why I'm just getting to this thread.

We're staying Poly GV (first time) 7/25-7/30!!! We're starting the trip with 1 night at SSR(really want to try it for my DVC research :thumbsup2), and then finishing with 2 nights Dolphin (Teacher Rate!:teacher::teacher:)

I told kids we're staying AKL (which we've done twice) and I told hubby we were doing CR. Everyone's first choice was Poly, so everyone will be surprised!!!! Our first time at the Polynesian!

That happened to DD and I with ME. We arrived about noon, checked in to the Poly but had only minimal things with us, went to the Spirit of Aloha that night without what we had planned to wear. Our suitcase finally showed up at midnight - we were already in bed when the knock came on the door! So very good advice Lorie!

Yup - we've never done it before; we normally fly down first thing in the AM. But I needed my disney fix now that Im working and dont really get vacation time, so we're flying down at 8:30 PM after work - we'll just lounge on the beach for a while tomorrow night after we check in and take in the scenery ;)

Just got back from dinner at ohana. Yummy has usual. Sitting here on our patio waiting for the fireworks to begin. The place is really hopping. Can u believe they have a stand set up on the Polynesian beach selling turkey legs?????? It was there last night for the crowds too. Last night's fireworks were great. Can't wait to see it again tonight.

Absolutely take advantage of the special rates. I LOVE the Dolphin and at 149a night, can't be beat! Plus as an SPG member (which is FREE) I got a great upgrade to a resort view with balcony!!! I also love the Poly, of course, hence the split stay! DD wants to be a pediatric doc or nurse, not sure yet!

Aloha! You are added on post 108! I know, I know, we LOVE the anticipation. I'm starting to have a little anxiety over the anticipation being almost over...if that makes sense?

I know what you mean about not wanting to do it any other way. We stayed off-site for free our first trip (well, Marriott points), and we stopped by the Poly for dinner and have been hooked ever since.

I still feel so unprepared! Lots and lots to do, and lots of work night in the next week-and-a-half, so I'm actually starting to run out of time and feel a little behind.

I am all set and packed...only a couple of days left. We are leaving Thursday night and will arrive on Saturday morning. Hope to spend the afternoon getting settled in and swimming--plus a quick trip to Publix for a birthday cake for my soon to be 3 yr old. :cool1:

we had to cancel our vacation so can somebody take my name off the chart for july 19-29th? we had a family issue and hope everything gets straightened our and we can go for christmas.
