I saw a few threads started by folks on the very friendly POLY FAQ thread that were just like this, but none yet for September. So...Here it is!
If you'd like, share your dates, room requests, plans...whatever you like.:goodvibes
Lets all count down together!!:wizard:
My family is arriving at the Hilton DTD on 9/18 and attending MNSSHP that night. We check into Poly on the 19th-26th. We are GV, only request was a balcony. Hoping for :wizard: on my building assignment.

:confused3I have our entire trip planned out with ADRs and everything, and I have for quite some time.
Today, DH says we may need to push it back b/c his boss is going on maternity leave for 3 months starting July and they want him to take over her job to see if he may be interested in a promotion. This happens to also be the busiest time of the year for his company. UGGHH!
So he suggested October, but I think if we have to push it back we should wait until early December. I am all about low crowds and value season!
The only good thing is that I have the 40% PIN thur Dec 16.
Keep your fingers crossed that we are still Sept Poly Disers!

We're first-timers too.
Sept 18 - 26.
GV room.
Thinking about requesting balcony. That way, when kiddos go to sleep, we'll sit in the hot and humid FL weather and sweat and relax. :lmao:
I just hope our trip does not need to get cancelled. My DH has 3 partners and 2 of them are leaving in July- August and the third one is already completely flaking out. I'm very excited about this trip. I have all my ADRs, I have my schedule, my plans and I know I will just be really disapointed if we have to cancel.

We can feel each other's pain! :scared:
On the positive side, if we do make it, I'll probably appreciate it more because of the ongoing threat of cancellation/postponement.
I hope we can hang out at the volcano pool, drink some Lapu Lapus and watch the fireworks from the :beach: THIS SEPTEMBER!

Yeah!!! I've NEVER gone to Disney in September before. I went in July for the longest time due to all the kiddos (meaning ME or my brothers/sisters/nieces/etc.) being in school. Then when I had my kids, we went once in July and my children and husband were so miserable that we went in April/May after that. We love that time frame but this year, we had friends that wanted to go and we all settled on September. I know it is hotter & more humid than April/May but I'm hoping that the parks aren't as full as July so it might be more tolerable. Or we'll just be sipping pina colavas by the pool all day :)

I like that!!!
Joining in - just switched us to the Poly for the second half of our Aug/Sept stay :cool1: We'll be there 8/31-9/4. We were originally booked at Bay Lake Tower, but I started looking at pics of the Poly and just couldn't help myself - it looks so beautiful!!!
We booked GV CL (since we were planning to have a kitchen at BLT, I figured we'll need the extra food, and now I won't have to cook it :rolleyes1)
I'm so excited- we've never stayed at a monorail resort before, and never stayed club level - I'm afraid we're going to get spoiled :goodvibes
Oops, need to go change my ticker.....

I'm hoping for that!! Although we'll be there the week before Labor Day, so I'm guessing it'll be a bit more crowded. Hopefully most kids will already be back in school though. We're starting after Labor Day this year, but only because our middle schools are under construction.

We also wanted to try out BLT because I've been wanting to check out the 1 BDR villas and I like the idea of being at a monorail resort. But I couldn't find any availability with the room discount being offered during the time we wanted. I am secretly happy because I LOVE the grounds at the Poly and have never liked the theme (is there one?) at the Contemporary. But I'm still willing to try BLT, don't get me wrong! :goodvibes

That's pretty much what happened to us. We could get a 1-br lake view at BLT, but my main reason for wanting to stay there was the MK view, and I couldn't get an MK view room!! I'm not a big fan of the CR theming - and they certainly don't have the lush, tropical grounds, so I'm thrilled about the switch. Someday I do want to book BLT theme park view, though, and watch Wishes from my balcony :wizard:

Well, I just cancelled mine for 8/31-9/4, so if those dates work for you, you should be able to get it now!! It was lake view, not theme park view, so it just depends on what you want....

Too funny! But I'll be there 9/18 - 9/25. It's ok though because I really do love the Poly. At this point I hope nothing does open up for 1 BDR at BLT for 40% off because then it will raise the question if we should switch...and I don't want to :rolleyes1

I read on another thread that the only king beds at the Poly are in the club level suits so I'd double check on that if I were you so you won't be disappointed if you don't get a king when you get there!

That's correct. Poly is 2 queens, no kings unless you book a suite.
And just an interesting note, but I travel a bit (mostly for business but sometimes for pleasure!) and the hotels that are being built are making the rooms with king beds SMALLER. And they put only showers in with the King beds because business MEN are the ones to stay in a king and families stay in a 2 queen/double room. So they don't take into account that a woman needs a place to put her foot (when she shaves). So I've switched over to 2 queens even when I travel by myself now!!! Bigger rooms and a spot to put my darn leg! Ok, rant over :goodvibes

We'll be at POLY for the first time 9/18-9/25 (GV room). We've stayed at all the Values Resorts & the Beach Club in the past. Now that we have a little princess going for her first trip, I'm looking forward to the transportation options; I'm excited that we'll only have to ride a bus for 1/2 the parks. I'm trying to decide now if I should try to request a specific longhouse or leave it up to the Tiki gods.
Here's where we plan to eat: Whispering Canyon Cafe, Akershus, Cape May Cafe, Chef Mickey's, Coral Reef, Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater, and Tony's Town Square. We've eaten at most of them already, but 2 of them are new for us: Tony's for lunch & Chef Mickey's for dinner (already had breakfast there). I tried to limit the character meals since we don't know how DD will react.
This will be our first trip with DD; she'll be 13 months when we go. We're planning to have her first haircut at the MK barber-shop while we're there so I'm really looking forward to that, too. I'm excited and nervous about travelling with the baby, not sure how easy/hard it will be or how she'll behave. We're flying Southwest, so the good thing is we can check 4 bags for free, and with the way I pack I'm sure we'll need them! Now we just gotta wait 2 more months!
P.S. I'm looking for anyone who has room for 1 more on a fishing excursion during this time. DH really wants to go & I'd love for him to be able to go, too. It'd be my late Father's Day & Anniversary gift to him! :goodvibes Thanks!

We'll be at the Poly at the same time!!
Make sure to visit the Poly thread as well for information on the resort and longhouses. And check tikiman's website for great info on the longhouses and the rooms in each longhouse.
I would suggest making a room request (if you want) 4 to 10 days prior to your arrival. Not all rooms at the Poly have a balcony/patio so if that is important to you - request that! And of course, there are many beloved longhouses but it all depends on your preferences. If you really don't have a preference, then don't request it!
I can't help you on the fishing excursion question but I have read good reviews of it on allears and was tempted to plan one for our group as well - it sounds fun for those of us that fish!

Yay! Fun thread!
We'll be there September 18 - 24. This will be our third CL Poly September trip in 3 years and as a previous poster already mentioned, the crowds are amazingly light (not nonexistent, of course!) - so much easier to enjoy all the fun!
Here's where we're scheduled to eat:
Narcoossee's
California Grill
Artist Point
Flying Fish
Yachtsman's
Kona (we're trying for Ohana, maybe the CL CM's can help us out...either way we love Kona at any time of day!)
Coral Reef (lunch)
Ohana (breakfast)
And clearly I'll be getting my Tonga Toast immediately upon check-in!
CAN'T WAIT!!! Seems like lots of y'all will be there at the same time! :cool1:

So we should all be paying our trip off (45 day mark and all) soon...if not already. How exciting is that??? OK, maybe not the 'bye bye money' part, but the 45 day mark???
Summer has been flying by with so much travel and things to do for the kids that time is cruising. Hopefully when we are at the Poly, it will be slow going
And for those that will be there during the same time, I'd love to say hello! We'll be at the pool everyday (I know I've told y'all this before on the Poly thread but it seems more appropriate here). Me and DH hunt for a table because we like to sit, talk, eat, drink, etc. while the kids swim. If you see us, please feel free to sit with us! We'll be there 9/18 - 9/25. I can't wait!!!

Thanks for bumping this thread up, Joyciemc! I can't believe I haven't seen it before!
I recognize a lot of you from the Poly thread!
We are going to be Poly CL from 9/18-9/21. Wow, it seems so sad to have that short of a trip, but after a glorious 10-day trip in May, what can I expect?
:cutie:
We love Septembers! We skipped September last year because I was on maternity leave most of the summer, so I wasn't able to take off any more time.
We are actually going to arrive in Orlando on 9/17, but since we are driving and we aren't leaving until late afternoon, we are just Pricelining a room for Friday night.

I'm pretty sure that when we went for our honeymoon, it was DH's first September trip (I hadn't been there in years and years, as per my siggy) and he was blown away by how short the lines were! I remember him saying "We just walked onto Space Mountain. We walked. On!" :rotfl: And it was the same throughout the week - I think the only thing we had to wait for was TSM (of course!).

Ooohhh - just stumbled upon this thread :surfweb:
We will be there in September too: 9/19-24 GV CL - just me and DH  We are so happy to be going back to the Poly. We've stayed in Tahiti twice, so CL in the Hawaii building will be new to us (work conference + 40% PIN = :yay:).
Since we tend to do our family favorites when at WDW, we decided to try some restaurants we've never been to before this time. Not too bad a mix considering we just booked the trip last week:
Kona for dinner (have had breakfast there)
The Wave
Rose and Crown Pub
Portabella
Nine Dragons
It looks like lots of DISers will be there at the same time we are - woo hoo!! Can't wait!

So the OP is no longer going to the Poly in September but I thought we should still have a post with everyone's dates. I can put together that post and PM the OP to put the page # in the title if everyone is ok with that. If you'd like me to include you in this master list, please include as much information as you care to share.
For instance for me, Tinkerbellie 16, I will be staying in a GV (requesting patio Tokelau) 9/18 - 9/25 with my DH, DS8, DD6, and another couple.
And everyone please grab a photo of yourself and anyone that is coming with you and post it on this thread so we can all recognize each other! (If you want to!)
I only have photos of my family (not the other couple coming with us), but here is one from April 2009 then April 2008:

Hi, OP here...:wave2:
I made the updates to the new post. Let me know if you need anything else.
I am jealous of you all going next month! We pushed ours to Oct b/c of DH's work schedule, and then yesterday I interviewed for a transfer to a new hospital opening by my same company and got the job...so...now having to move trip AGAIN!! New plan is December 10-16 at WL. I am bummed to not be there over halloween, but I was excited that my PIN was avail in Dec at WL. I thought it would be full for sure!
You guys have fun at Poly next month! I am saving that resort for a warm weather trip. :goodvibes:goodvibes

Hello, hello!
We will be at Poly 9/18 to 9/21 (so far, may add a couple more days) club level GV. Here are a couple pics of us, but I don't have any of DH's mom or grandma who will be with us. These pics are from May so they are pretty up to date.
This is Michael and DD1:

This is so cute - I love the idea of posting pictures! We'll be at the World from 8/28-9/4, but the first three days are at POR. Check in at Poly on 08/31 for the duration of our trip :cool1:
Here's a picture of the kids from last August's trip (DH and I are camera shy ;)) Please be sure to say hello - this will be our 10th trip and I've never yet met another Diser. Would love to! BTW, the boy in the black shirt isn't mine - I just didn't frame the picture well!

28 more days from right now, I'll be driving home from work to take the dogs to the doggie hotel! yay!!!
I'm still trying to make final dining decisions. I'm so up in the air this trip, I don't know what it is. I keep checking the website to see what is available for dining and I don't even know what I'm really looking for.
We've book Kona Cafe, Biergarten, Tusker House, Les Chefs de France, and Chef Mickeys already, but I just can't say "Okay, that's it. That's what I want."
I'm not sure if it's the pressure of planning the trip with extended family or what. It's driving me crazy.

That sounds awesome! We will be there hopefully by 10am...room ready or not. Since we're not officially doing an anniversary trip this year, this is serving as ours. DW does NOT know we are staying here (and doesnt check browser history hopefully) so that is her anniversary surprise. She still thinks we are staying at POR. It will be interesting to see when she finally figures out we are not going to POR.

I'm sure this has been asked on here somewhere before but I can't find it anywhere besides spending hours searching.....
When you buy the Disney mug at Poly, does that include Kona coffee refills, regular Nescafe instant (that is disgusting and available at the other resorts), OR some other type of coffee that is in between Kona and the instant junk? :confused3 I am really looking forward to some GOOD coffee in the mornings.
I just finished the last of my Jamaican Blue Hills coffee (in my opinion the best coffee in the world) and I'm ready for some Kona!

So, is anyone planning on going to MNSSHP on 9/18? We are planning on going. I'm now in desperate costume search for both kids and me.
I didn't dress up last time (not even a Halloween shirt) since it was our first party and I didn't know what to expect. This time, I'm thinking about wearing a costume, but something pretty simple.
The girls, on the other hand, are difficult. Whatever we get them for the party, they are going to wear for Halloween as well, so I have to get the older one to decide what she wants to be. Ugh!

We've never been to MNSSHP but plan on going to the 9/21 party. My husband and I aren't going to dress up (although I'll probably purchase some Disney ears or something!) but the kids will be dressed up. After hearing how warm it is, we've decided on 'light' costumes but I have to order them tonight so thanks for the reminder! I'll let you know what we decide but they will have to use the costumes for Halloween as well as that party!!

DD8 wore her Sleeping Beauty costume last time and it wasn't too bad. I'm more concerned with DD1. All of the cute costumes are warmer.
I'd like her to be Minnie Mouse, but I'm searching for a "real" Minnie Mouse dress. I'm assuming, if I want her to be Minnie, I'm going to have to do a custom. Disney Store has the pink Mickey Mouse Clubhouse dress in her size, but I want the red one.
I know WDW has a Minnie Mouse costume, but it's got the black top to it. (Yes, I am being that picky) :rolleyes1:rolleyes1:lmao:
I'm leaning toward a black cat or a gypsy/fortune teller for me. I'm thinking just a black t-shirt and black capris with ears and a tail for the cat. Or a billowy-type shirt and a peasant skirt with bangle bracelets for the fortune teller.

Well, my wizarding skills need some work! I had my son's birthday party last night and then both my kids had a sleepover. They would NOT go to sleep... It was a long night.
And of course my DH is still in Montana for harvest. The good news is that it is a GREAT harvest but the bad news is that the cities were not prepared for the crop so there aren't enough trains. My DH and family had to drive 90 miles to drop off the wheat because all the elevators are full. And they had to sleep in the truck overnight to be first in line to make sure they were able to drop off the wheat. So the bad news is that farmers may start dumping their wheat on the ground and the price of wheat may go up. Which in turn means we pay more for flour and bread.

We went to Home Depot this weekend and I snuck some Mickey heads. I felt like a thief, but we really were looking at paint colors for our living room, breakfast room, and kitchen. Maybe I just like neon green and want it all over my house!

DH gave me an iTunes gift card as one of my birthday gifts, so I'm going to load up on some new songs for the road.
I'm still on a mission to find a red/white Minnie costume for my youngest. I'm not giving up just yet. My oldest has decided she's going to be Snow White for MNSSHP. She's been a Disney princess every year since she was 2 and she's running out of princesses that she wants to be.

Are you talking about the Afternoon tea at the Grand Floridian? We did that (with three generations - grandparents, me, kids) and had a very nice time. We did wear some of our 'nicer' clothes (which is just relative in terms of Disney!) and the girls wore their princess dresses but you don't need to dress up. Have fun!

All I could find was the pink Mickey Mouse Clubhouse dress for 18-24 months, so I decided to try on DD8's old 2/3 Belle costume and it didn't look too big, so we went ahead and bought the 2/3 Minnie Mouse costume.
It's too cute!!! I can't wait!

We have our costumes ordered.
Our kids are:
Tamina from Prince of Persia (she liked it because it was pants and not a dress)
Pocahontas
Princess Tiana
Snow White
And Mickey Mouse

I'm still hoping that an 'Ohana breakfast opening happens for us. Fingers crossed for some pixie dust for that day!

I was playing on the Disney site last night and I saw a 7:10pm spot at Ohana open for our free night and I tried to grab it, but I think I was about a second too slow. It said that it wasn't available anymore and the times had been updated and it was still showing, so I tried again, but nope, same message, but the time stilled showed when I refreshed.
I tried one more time to get it and got the same message and then, when I refreshed, it was gone. Boo!!!
I guess I'll keep looking. If we don't get anything, we'll just go with our original plan of either getting counter service or snacking in the club lounge.

Good luck! Be sure to keep an eye on the September (or October) ADR cancellation threads! I found some good ADRs that way!

While I love the ability to make ADRs online, I have also found some odd glitches like that. It is irritating, especially when it is something you really, really want! Well, good luck and here's hoping for some pixie dust for you!

Oh my pixie dust!!!!
I just got my 7 guest reservation for 'Ohana for a breakfast on the day we fly out!!!!
I signed up for it and will have to double check that it works with our flight schedule, but I jumped at. I've checked multiple times a day and finally it opened up!

I'm so jealous!!! We aren't going to be heartbroken if we don't eat at Ohana, but we thought that Grandma would think it was fun, so we thought we'd try for it.
Good job getting a ressie!!!
So, last night, I was trying to pack some more and I started stressing out. I went into the living room and just flopped on the couch. When DH asked what was wrong, I just looked at him.
I feel like, when we booked our reservations, it seemed like so far away and now, I'm freaking out because I feel so unorganized! We just went in May, so all of our clothes should still be okay AND I just went and bought each of the girls 3 new outfits, so what's my problem?!?!?
I usually don't freak out like this until the night before we leave. We still have 2 full days before the day we leave.
I even took the time to go get my hair cut and colored last night, so I should feel like I'm more ready than normal. Geez!

I'm with you. Sometimes we have no idea what's wrong.
I was so frustrated last night because my EIGHT year old had two hours of homework (ok, part of that is his fault because he doesn't focus but we had to sit there with him and it is painful!). Then my husband and I are trying to figure out who's driving the kids where on which days for school, daycare, soccer, dentist appointments, assessment tests, birthday party, and a sleepover and (breath) try to get our work done (oh, that pesky little thing that pays the bills) all BEFORE our trip...in FOUR days! So I flopped too and watched the Bachelor Pad because it is mind-numbing :lmao:
I just know that once we leave the house, there is just nothing more I can do and I LOVE that feeling. I tell myself that we just need our IDs, a credit card, and a smart phone and the rest is solvable. If we forgot something, we replace it there. If I forgot to turn a light off in the house, we just call our neighbor who is watching our house. If I forgot to call someone, I have a cell phone! I just love finally letting go of all the planning and enjoying the vacation. Not much longer!!!

That is one of my biggest problems! I act like we aren't going to be able to purchase anything when we go. It's not like we are traveling to the outback with no stores available. Plus we drive, so we can drive wherever we need to go.
Oh, and our 8-year-old didn't get any homework last night, so that means she will probably have double tonight and she's got dance class tonight. I have to finish up laundry tonight, garbage day is tomorrow, so we'll have that gone, and then, Thursday is:
DH is in charge of taking the dogs to the pet hotel on Thursday and picking up DD8 from school. I am in charge of picking up DD1 at daycare and packing the car (I'm the better trunk packer).
WE CAN DO THIS!!!!!!!

I am soooooo ready. Work is freaking out that I am going on vacation. I'm a project lead for this huge project that won't be over until 2012 and everytime I take some time off, they freak out. They've actually created ISSUEs on the project related to me taking time off - it's ridiculous. I can't wait to NOT be involved in this for a whole week.
But isn't that so true of all of us? We like our vacations to get away from daily stresses. No cooking, no cleaning, no driving to sports, no homework, no work, no having to wake up at 6 am, etc. :woohoo:

I woke up this morning and thought 'only 24 hours until we leave the house for our trip'. As I ran this morning, I thought 'only 24 hours until our flight departs'. And I could not stop thinking about what I would be doing tomorrow so the run went too fast! I wanted to keep daydreaming :rotfl:
I don't think I'll be able to sleep much tonight but I'm pretty good about zonking on the flight but... who cares! I'll be eating at Ohanas tomorrow night!!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

You sound like me - I read a thread where the person was like "I just ate Tonga Toast and it was amazing", and I immediately looked at the clock, and thought "I'll be eating there in 24 hours!" :rotfl:
I've been counting the hours til we get picked up for a while now. Currently we're at: 17 hours!!! :scared1: CRAZY!

It's quiet here, but I think that is because you all are at your trips!!!
We're on the single digit dance too. :cool1:
I have the suitcases out and ready to be packed. Clothes are laid out. Every day I think of something else I should I bring along.
Hope you all are having fun!
And praying that the weather behaves while we are there!
