I have seen Dave's site with a nice list of hotels to stay at near the airport... but I would like some input from those who have stayed there.

We are not going to stay at the port... will be flying in late with children.

Which one would you pick and why?

We stayed at the Hyatt in MCO. It was very easy. Just grab your luggage, walk across the airport, and you are there. Also, buses leave there, and you can check in for the bus to the pier in the lobby of the Hyatt.

I'm with Sue, we always stay at the Hyatt if staying at an airport hotel, can't beat the convenience of just grabbing your bags and checking in. :)

Anywhere a little cheaper than the Hyatt... we will arrive late... go to bed, get up and catch our transfer bus by 11:00... The only ammenity that is appealing to our group is continental breakfast...

We stayed at the Amerisuites NW and it was very nice! Lots of extra room since you have a living area and seperate sleeping area! Nice continental breakfast buffet in the morning also!

We use either Hotwire or Priceline to get reasonably priced lodgings ($27 to $33) near MCO. That has always included a free airport shuttle and usually includes free breakfast too. We get the Amerisuites through Hotwire and have gotten several different LaQuintas and the Renaissance via Priceline.

Thanks to those who have responded...

Barb - are the Priceline and Hotwire rooms available for parties of 5 and 6?

We stayed at the Embassy Suites using frequent stay points. Because we got in early Friday, we were able to enjoy the free "happy hour" from 5-7 and then again the free cook-to-order breakfast the following morning.

Two rooms meant a little more privacy for the adults and the pool was outside (which is unusual for Embassy Suites up North).

A shuttle picked us up from the airport and we had a towncar take us to the port the following morning.

Very stress-free and the car was cheaper than transfers for a family of four (not to mention we were at the airport by 8:45 AM the morning we returned back home).

We got the Fairfield Inn near the airport for $59. We usually stay at the Hyatt - we fly in late Fri. night - and use DCL transfers but will save $$$ this time staying at Fairfield and renting Avis car - two one way rentals. Fairfield has continental breakfast and free parking and free airport shuttle if you want.

Hi!

I have stayed here and it is super. The free continental breakfast in the morning is pretty good.

Enjoy!

WOW!!! We got our rooms for $65.00 per night!!!:Pinkbounc

That would be three rooms at that rate... It's not always easy to find rooms that will accommodate parties of 5 and 6!!!

Free breakfast buffet in the AM... and then off to the MAGIC! :sunny:

goin2dzny; Don't know what time your are arriving but if you will be arriving around or before dinner, I would say the airport Hyatt is great. We arrived there, checked in, had dinner and then wandered around the airport. Checked out the Disney store, Sea World store, Universal Studio... well you get the picture. Played around the fountain by the hotel... the kids were too excited to sleep despite being up since 3AM pacific time.. come to think so were the parents... :D

I would've loved to stay at the Hyatt for the convenience of it all since we are getting in about 9:30 pm, but it was all booked up (we booked everything last minute). So I listened to many on the board and booked Amerisuites NE through Valutrips.com at $49 a night each suite--2 suites for the 6 of us.

Macedonia (Ohio) checking in (although I work in Highland Heights). We have always just flown down to Orlando on the day of our departure. I am starting to get a bit nervous with all the money problems that the airlines are facing. Thanks for the tips on where to stay. I'll have to look into the possibility of getting a room before our November 3-day cruise.

Hey cass'mom - We should have lunch at Skyline Chili sometime. I'm there every Tuesday with a group from work.
