I love this soup too. You must eat it with the pretzel bread stick though!

Also the Carrot Ginger soup at Boma is fantastic, but unfortunately it's not always on the buffet line.

I like the Cheddar Cheese soup from LeCellier

 That is my favorite soup ever. There are others that I like from other restaurants but they are more of the seasonal soups. Like one year at Cali Grill I had a Corn Chowder soup that was amazing and then another time of year it was something else, can't remember but was still very good. The Lobster Bisque is very good over at Coral Reef :goodvibes

I thought I would get a lot of the Cheese soup from Le Cellier but I am quite surprised at the variety of favourites! There doesn't really seem to be clear winner but its nice to know that most of their soup is pretty good!

Bring on more of your favourites!

It used to be the tortilla soup at Wolfgang Puck Express, but it has recently been removed from the menu. I also adore the entire soup bar at Boma. It's worth the price of the entire buffet. My favorite is probably the chicken coconut curry stew.

I loves me some good Disney soup.

The ones already posted that I've tried are all excellent: 1900 PF strawberry soup (that seems spring/summer wedding-ish to me), LeCellier cheddar and Biergarten potato-leek (both with pretzel bread).

I've had some very tasty ones off the buffets in past trips: Crystal Palace sweet white onion, smoked tomato bisque from Chef Mickey's and Cape May Cafe, and potato-ham-leek from Chef M's.

The soups at Boma are AMAZING! The butternut squash is by far our fave. We do like the LeCellier cheddar, but it is way, way too rich for our taste in a significant amount. We got a bowl to share (hubby and myself) and it was too much. We like to dip the bread into it though which is delicious. As an honorable mention, the tomato bisque at the Plaza is amazingly delicious.

I can't wait to try this soup. Oct. 1 :thumbsup2 It's one of the only things on here that people can agree on.

Not so fast, it is not beloved by everyone and in fact if you search you will find plenty of people who aren't fans. Given all the obsessive hype, I was underwhelmed; a little too salty and with a subtle but discernible, almost sour/bitter aftertaste because of the beer.

I had a great soup at Jiko two years ago-the Brentwood corn chowder, but it was taken off the menu last year. They had an awesome presentation where the corn was sitting in the bowl and the server poured the creamy soup in front of you. Now thats class ;)

Absolutely! It's my favorite item at Artist Point. I even have the recipe. :goodvibes I like this much better than the Cheddar Cheese Soup at Le Cellier, and it even bumps from the list my love of all soups from Boma.

I've had this type of service at Jiko before. I remember going in a May about 5 years ago, and the asparagus soup was on the menu for being "in season". They poured it into my bowl tableside, too. :cloud9:

I like beer cheese soup a little, but la cellier's isn't my favorite. My favorite soup would be artist point's smoky portobello. I had to get some for wife to go during one of her pregnancies - they fixed her up with like a quart container. She had it three or four times that year. We've eaten there probably a dozen times and it has always been good. Take some of that bread and dunk it in there and it is glorious. I've had good lobster bisque at both coral reef and chefs of france, but sometimes it isn't always great. Sometimes better than others. I had some memorably good soup at brown derby once also some kind of squash. Frankly, I also like the chili at trails end if you crush up the crackers in it and pile on cheese from the salad bar and dump in a bunch of tabasco, but that is sort of a different thing isn't it.

Cheese soup at LeCellier
Potato soup at Rose and Crown

My favorite of all time was the chantarelle soup with pumpkin seeds at Jiko. Their current tomato soup is very very good and my current WDW favorite but it can't compete with that chantarelle.

In October 2006 I had a Curried Cauliflower with Lobster bits at California Grill that was amazing! I could have done without the lobster, which would make it cheaper, I'm sure. It was soooo good. Don't know of when the last time they had it though.

Beer Cheese Soup at BRG.
Second was the Mushroom Soup at Brown Derby. I go the recipe and made it at home. But it was better in the restaurant. They must have doctored up their recipe so it was better. (The Mushroom Soup at AP was very good too though. Just not as good as the bowl I had at BD.)

DH loved the Cauliflower Soup at Jiko.

Although Chefs de France has a really good Lobster Bisque. :)

Every time I've been to Mara, they've had this. What's ironic is that even though they insist that both Boma and Mara use the same kitchen, and thus the same pot when they serve Butternut Squash soup, I had it at both places one night (now that's really fanatical!) and I swore it tasted better at Mara.

You know, my guess would be that they could. Once, when I was at Boma, I wanted Cafeine Free Diet Coke, which wasn't on the menu. However, the server was able to produce it from somewhere-I think it was in a can or a bottle. Every day that I've stayed at AKL, I've gone to Mara, and always been able to get the butternut squash soup there. If you really want it (and I could understand this) and the server won't get it, send someone over to Mara to get some to go with your meal at Boma. I think it's a real reasonable price-around $2.95, and it comes in a cup with a lid for easy carrying.;)
