Suggestions for running in costume

We are running a half marathon over Memorial Day weekend and costumes are encouraged at the event. The friends I'm going with are pretty set on running dressed as zombies/plants from the game plants vs zombies.

My question is: Has anyone run in makeup or costume before and do you have any suggestions for makeup that won't run a lot when we sweat or for fabric or material that would be good for the costume but not too bad to run in?

I'm open to other group costume ideas too. There will be 4 or 5 of us.

How did the makeup hold up? Looks like lots of fun!!!!!:thumbsup2

We bought cream makeup from the local party store. It held up pretty well as long as you didn't rub your face (a bit of a challenge with the sweat going on). I started with black lipstick on and ended with kind of black teeth but overall worked ok.
