~The Daily Grind~ 5/13/10

It's the Day Before Friday!!

I asked to be switched to the good hosp today. It's a Heritage Lunch and I wanted to show my support for the sup there by making something... I'm going with my East Coast American heritage, and bring Peanut Butter Tandykake... tastes like the ones you get from Tastykake... I thought that was better than the Irish boiled potatoes and cabbage :rotfl:

Counting down till graduation...

Good morning! It's Thursday!! And the last "official" day of state testing. We have make-ups tomorrow, but that's it! 16 working days (counting today) til summer vacation!

Blythe had a good day yesterday. She does have a little hole in her heart (it has a name, but I can't remember right now). The doctor said it was common in babies born early. They will give her medicine to help it close, but it'll mean surgery if it doesn't close on its own. So, we are praying for the medicine to work for our little fighter! She's a week old today!

Here's my list for today:

1. Up
2. Caffeinate
3. Pack lunches
4. Wipe down both bathrooms
5. DS's stuff together
6. DS up
7. DS to mom's
8. Work--get thru list there
9. Tan
10. Pick up DS
11. Do lists for work
12. Walk with DS
13. Laundry
14. Send DH "please do" list
15. Make grocery list
16. Scrap 2 pages
17. Finish DVR'd show
18. Go to sleep sort of early!!

I hope everyone has an awesome Thursday!!

Good Morning!

Hope you have a good day, Deb! Your new strategy seems to be working - you don't seem quite as stressed?

Chilly 32 degrees here, but at least it's not snowing.

Plans for the day
Pool
Bank
breakfast
take old friend to the mountains to see her grandpa's old homestead
lunch - too cold for a picnic so must find some healthy choice and eat it
put the photos up to walgreens to print
dinner
scrap? or collapse!

Happy Day, all!

SIOH, you snuck in here while I was writing, :) <3 dust for Baby Blythe

I've got my annual **** squeeze this morning. Oh fun, oh joy! Although, Morgan was complaining that her throat hurt last night, she said it feels like she has strep again. I told her we'd see how she was this morning. She's still sleeping, but that may change my whole day.

So, it's all up in the air for now.

All I know is I need a cup of coffee big time, went to bed with a headache, woke up with it too.

Pixie Dust to Blythe!

Anything with peanut butter is my favorite, those sound delectable, Deb!

Good day to everyone!

Brooke, lots of pixie dust for Blythe.

Jennifer, I hope Morgan feels better this morning. Good luck at the squeeze!

I'm working another long shift today and then running a couple of errands before I meet up with DH and we go to DS's chorus concert.

Have a great day everyone!

:hug:For Morgan and Blythe. SIOH, a good friend of my sister's son had heart surgery when he was a little thing too. He is now going on 10 and is an amazing kid. His parents throw this HUGE birthday party for him and ask that all gifts be donations to the hospital that did his heart surgery. :cloud9:

Get kiddos to school.
Go to Hoxworth to donate blood.
Go to Archiver's with my Mother's Day gift card.
Go to Michael's with the gift card a good friend sent me.
Grab salad fixin's for lunch.
Home to do clean up stuff. Lots on that list.

Pixie the bulk of us are on eastern time but we have a few from the western part of the states, AR TRM, Hopemax all come to mind. I know there are more but with the headache still pounding away they are eluding me.

Doesn't matter though cause you're up after I'm going to bed. I'm normally not a night owl except when the insomia kicks in.

Stay safe some of those are supposed to be nasty!!
On the bright side you're getting lots done. I'd rather sit here and play than work today. It's so strange to have the house to myself. It is so QUIET I'm just sitting here enjoying it.

My youngest DS is graduating from Pre-K today. :sad1: I just dropped him off for his last day at Preschool, and I'm getting ready for his class party. Then tonight they have the ceremony, cap & gown and all. He is so excited to be going to Kindergarten at the "big kid school" with his brothers. I've been having these random weepy mommy moments all day...doesn't seem like so long ago when I brought him home from the hospital and now he's getting so big. Is this how it is with everybody with your baby? I'm going to need a whole box of tissues for his first day of Kindergarten.

WDWMom
05-13-2010, 09:25 AM
DB - I was ready for my youngest to head off to school and so was he. I can understand how you would be sad. I think I cried a little with each one one the first day, but was glad to see them off. Same when DD went to college. SHe was ready and I knew it was a good place for her.

As for the storms, they are saying some of them this afternoon could be nasty. Great from 2-6, just when kids are coming home from school. I will probably pick the boys up at the bus stop if it is raining. Still praying the track meet in cancelled.

Sooooooooooo I was alone this morning.

There was supposed to be someone in here at 8, but when I rolled in at 8:15, there was a woman sitting in the ticket office (she works here, haha), wondering where the other girl was. I had no idea.

I usually get here at 8, even though I'm supposed to be here at 8:30, but my train kept stopping in the tunnel, so I was on time, but later than usual. I figured the other girl would show up eventually... nope. And I had no idea where she was - I never even got a chance to call her cell phone or anything, because there were so many people. I had a HUGE line, and sold almost 200 tickets by myself..... ugh.

Finally, my boss comes in at the end of it all (I guess she got here late as well), and says "Oh, we had to move her because someone got sick." Arg! I wish she had called to let me know that... not like it would have helped with the line, but at least I would have known....

sigh.

Working until 4:30, then headed home to collapse.

Disney Store Online is having free shipping on all their parks merchandise, so I treated myself to a sweatshirt that I've wanted for a while... I think I deserve it after that line.

Pixieflip
05-13-2010, 09:52 AM
Oh, no! Free shipping? I did not need to know that.
Stay safe in all the storms everyone.
Graduation... :goodvibes

I just lost an hour on a bunny trail of useful semi work related websites...okay, mostly not related but I had fun. See a shiny object.....

Back to the real tasks of the day.

Well, my ta-tas are sore, but it's done for another year. They give goodies out (a bottled water, a mint, and a cereal bar), so I had a squeeze and then breakfast.

Got some errands done and stopped and picked up the tie dyed shirts. OMG, they came out so great! I didn't realize the difference between 50/50 shirts and 100% cotton though. The 50/50 look good, the 100% look GOOD. The girls will love them though.

DB, I've only got one, but it's sooooo hard to watch them grow up. I told Morgan again this morning to stop! She never listens to me! :confused3

I still get weepy when my kiddos are gone all day. I miss my little men. Kindergarten is 1/2 day here, so it wasn't horrible. First grade was. I still start watching the clock at lunchtime for when they can come home.

My arm is a little sore. I feel more whoozy than normal. Wonder if the weight loss has anything to do with it? Anyway, I didn't get much shopping done. Went to Archivers for more white gel pens and Chic fil a for my salad. I'm thinking a nap is needed right now.

Welcome Anne!!!

Thanks Ann! :)

I wish our Kindergarten was 1/2 day, but he'll be there ALL day-gonna miss my afternoons with just him. On the other hand, it'll be nice to get some things done around the house (maybe even catch up on my laundry lol).

Did somebody say free shipping??? Time to go shopping! :woohoo:

Here it has been overcast all day. No clue on the temp since I haven't been out. Just check weather.com and it is 58 degrees. Lots of green over Lake MI, and the hour by hour calls for storms through 5ish. Temp should be up to 70 by 6:00. That should make for some nice tornado weather. Not that we get tonadoes this close to the lake, but inland could.
