I bought him a new stainless steel water dish, and he is terrified of it. He was sitting in the middle of the kitchen staring at it in the corner, then he slowing slunk away backwards. Then he came back again, hissing at it (you know what I mean, Shep) and backing away from it again. I had to get another bowl out and fill it with water so he would drink.
Do you think he suspects that it is really a DOG dish? :teeth:

Yes MY cat is smart! Or he could see himself and get confused.
He probaly thinks it isn't sanitary..

LOL :teeth: And I thought my cats were silly ;) You ought to get Simba a cat fountain like my babies have. They love it and love to play with the trickling water :)

Maybe he is seeing himself and thinks it is an enemy invading his territory. Cali wasn't afraid of it, she went right up to it, but then she isn't afraid of anything.
Simba is wuss boy. But I love him anyway.:D

I'll warn you they aren't cheap but it beats being bugged in the bathroom by Gwen when she wanted to drink from the faucet

Simba and Cali don't drink from the faucet, although Cali did try to drink from the toilet, so all lids must stay down.:teeth:
always make sure you flush when you're done too..

Neither have tried to drink from the toilet, but I admit Gwen did fall in a few times while jumping to the sink to get a drink. I don't think I've seen a toilet lid up in about a year or so now :teeth:

My kitties use the drinkwell water fountain (actually one cat and my dog LOL). My older cat just doesn't get it, she tries hard to like it but chickens out and goes to her non-moving water.
Mental note for next D,RMD epic

OMG. Catsrule!! You're not going to believe this but I bought a stainless steel dish for my kitties a month ago. I was so surprised when they rarely drank out of it. I just changed back to their favorite bowl.....an ABC bowl that used to belong to my DS when he was a toddler!! Crazy cats!!!:jester:

Maybe he is seeing himself and thinks it is an enemy invading his territory. That was what I was thinking when I read this. I bet he thinks another Wuss boy is gonna win mama's heart.;)

I think Simba needs to stop staying up so late watching all those horror movies, his mind is playing tricks with him!!

UPDATE: Well, I stood by the water dish and he hesitantly came over, stuck his paw in it, licked it, and then took a few licks of it. As soon as I walked away from it, he fled it and looked back at it and growled at it. :teeth:
Maybe he thinks it is a flying saucer from an ememy planet.:teeth:

Simba just came in from outside, it is starting to rain/thunderstorm. My baby was all wet and I had to wrap him in a towel and dry him off like a baby.

Hummmm now theres a great idea! Hey if they can clone a sheep they can certainly clone Simba....I think I'd have Cairo cloned too. You know so the new Simba won't get lonely.

Maybe the bowl smells funny? Run it through the dishwasher a couple of times.

He is so handsome. Simba says he has plenty of belly to go around.
I went to open up the sliding glass doors to let Simba in, saw a grey 'mass' drinking out of the outside water bowl. It was a big, fat racoon!:p Simba was sitting in a chair watching it. Glad he was smart enough to let it do whatever it wanted, it was 3 times his size. It ran off when it saw me. :teeth:

LOL... I've got a scardy *pet* as well... My dog is so wary of new things I buy... until he sees me "play" with the new item. LOL
