View Full Version : Hey Jeepers Lady and other Jeep owners

I have an 85 Jeep Cherokee that we have had for a long time. I just gave it to my dd, who just got her license. I have a mini-van that dh and I both hate, although it is good to us. Now that my dd is driving and going to college, I don't really need the space. So, on a whim I just bought an 89 Jeep Wrangler with a 3" lift and some fat tires. I have always wanted a Wrangler, but alot of them were out of my poor college student with a dd in college price range. It has low mileage and dh is very handy. I live in a beach town and have so wanted to ride around in a wrangler with the top and doors off. My family can't believe I am trading in my secure mini-van for this Jeep. They all tell me that I will be putting in lots of money into the Jeep. I know that as an older car it will need things.
Well.............anyway, tell me I'm not crazy.

Just tell them "Its a JEEP thing they wouldn't understand"

ok -- you're not crazy -- we really like Jeeps -- they kind of grow on you -- our DS can't wait til he's out of college and can afford another Wrangler - once they're in your blood -- it's hard not to have one!!!:cool:

You are not crazy! I was always a "jeep" women, but a very good friend of my X's sold explorers, so we switched to them, couldn't beat the deals he gave us! But I always swore someday I would own another jeep, so when the divorce was final, guess what I bought?:p

DH loves his 95 jeep wrangler
he swears he will never own anything but a jeep

He has already promised it to 7 yr old DD when she gets her driving license

If you have a wrangler you have to wave/point at other wranglers when they drive by
Not all jeeps just wrangler to wrangler
That is one of the weirdest things

He says I need a jeep liberty - although they are cute I have a mini van and I think I need something slightly larger

I have my eye on the Honda Odessy mini van.

Oh by the way we have had the jeep 3 years & have put next to nothing in it. It runs like a champ. My husband says he'll drop another engine in it before he trades it. Go figure.
