Holly & Christy, do you add any of the flavor powders to your water? Lipton's teas are pretty good without being too sweet.

Does anyone want to explain this?!?!
http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w234/hopemax/IMG_5402.jpg
I planted flowers on Sunday, because we were past the "last frost" date. Most of them are in planters so I was able to drag them in last night, but the more expensive ones are in the ground, so I couldn't move them. I hope they survive! Glad I waited on the veggie starts!

Wow! What a sight for May!!!

Hope all I can say is I'm sorry. That totally stinks
Ann I'd love to use the powder packets but so far the one's I've seen all have aspratame and nutra sweet in them and I'm allergic to them both.
Buffy hope DH starts to feel better soon.
I'll get over it and be healthly for it but it's my ONLY caffine as I don't drink coffee. what's sad is kool aid doesn't have enough sugar to kick start me i tried!!!:lmao:
AlexWyattMommy
05-12-2010, 12:41 PM
That is just ugly Hope, just ugly. Hope the in ground plants are okay.
The Lipton has Sucralose or splenda in it. Oh and something called acesulfame potassium. Ewww. It's kinda gross to put something in your body you can't pronounce. Think I'll go back to making ice tea the old fashion way. Hot water, tea bag and ice.
joyah
05-12-2010, 12:44 PM
I'm afraid to try the splenda I know what they say about it but my reaction to the others used to be so nasty that I'm afraid to have that again. I can now take like 3 sips of something diet before I start feeling it. just not something i like to put my self through.
AlexWyattMommy
05-12-2010, 12:54 PM
 I get that way from MSG. I can take two bites and know it's going to be a bad night.
I'm not sure why they just don't use real sugar in some things. Seriously, does everything have to be sugar free? I don't think so. Some of us know how to moderate ourselves. :snooty:

05-12-2010, 02:01 PM
Holly that's how I am with soda I'll give it up and then i'll have one instead of a drink if I'm the driver and wham the battle starts over. It's takes me WEEKS to get over the tired feeling.
Ann sugar pure natural sugar I agree just leave it alone.

Tough day here. Took my DD13 to the doctor and she was immediately referred to the pediatric ortho group. She needs an MRI on her knee. Doesn't look good. Put her back on crutches. Sigh.
Here are the rest of the tasks of the day:
Put kids' bathroom back together (shower curtain, rugs, towels, etc)
Sort team photos
Declutter main floor
Vacuum
Dinner - no idea
Evening absolutely free! All baseball was rained out! Family movie night?

 to your DD Pixieflip... sports injury?
the rain stopped here so everything is still a go.. DD16 is at track getting ready for conference on Friday... DS13 is @ the HS for open gym basketball w/ all the other high schoolers.... the seniors are helping out...so DS13 will be put to the test...they all know him since he was 4yos so they treat him like their own brother and torment him!! DS13 has soccer @ 6pm...

Grrrrrrrrr...DS's school stuff is making me crazy again. The drama continues (did it ever end?) this afternoon and most likely will continue to ramp up as the school year comes to an end. Nothing like looming deadlines to get people to finally move - or not - on things they've been sitting on...
What's that cliché???...I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired.

Pam back to the state level asap don't even try to work it out with them this is a pail full of muck. I'll bring you a few to through at them. It's a crime what they are doing. I would also keep track of your blood pressure and show them what they are doing to you and DH's health. The stress is not good for either of you.

It was a trampoline in the neighbor's back yard. Need I say more? She was exiting the blasted thing when the other kids bounced her and she fell between the springs and then was flipped forward so she was dangling over the side by the injured leg. Horrible incident. It happened a couple of weeks ago, this was her follow up visit. Doctor wanted to send her over to the ortho immediately, but they can't get her in till Monday. Also put her back on crutches, no walking on it. Who knows how long it'll be before she can go back to gymnastics. She's pretty upset about that part. We'll see, we'll know more on Monday.
Anyhoo...I got nothing else done today. I forgot that my DD11 had her 7th grade check up today after school. I'm exhausted! What a wimp!
Excellent business day. I added a new team member!:banana: She's a great lady, I'm so honored to have her and excited to get to know her better.
Tomorrow is a new day, right? The kids bathroom looks awesome, almost forgot to report that.

I think I've developed an allergy to MSG. What does it do to you Ann?
Aspartame has been known to cause symptoms that look like MS. I try very hard not to drink too much of it. I prefer Splenda.
AlexWyattMommy
05-13-2010, 05:10 AM
First I get get a weird tickle tingly sensation at the back of my throat. It doesn't hurt. It is just odd.
Then the head fog starts. I don't know how else to explain it. It isn't quite like medicine head. But I really really don't like it.
If I stop eating, that's as far as it goes. If I eat a little more then my throat feels like the uvual is growing and hanging and choking me. That part is kinda scary. It's only happened a few times.
Then there is the headache. Whether this is really from the MSG or my anxiety to the other stuff, I don't know.
But it will take hours before I feel normal again.
There are also digestive track issues the next day, but that may be TMI. ;)
morgansmom2000
05-13-2010, 05:16 AM
Yeah, when I asked I wondered if I'd get a digestive answer ;)
When I eat Chinese food, I feel fine, everything is great and then I get itchy feet and hands! Not so much anywhere else, *just* my feet and hands. It really makes me kind of crazy.
AlexWyattMommy
05-13-2010, 05:27 AM
Most places don't get mad if you ask them to not use MSG. A few of ours use that as bragging rights. :thumbsup2
I also get that bad feeling in my throat if I eat the lobster bites from Long John Silvers. :confused3 I can eat real lobster and the fake monk fish stuff. I'm not sure what is in LJS that does it to me. It is just the lobster bites. And it was instant. With Chinese food it is the second bite that starts the cycle.
Let's see if Christy has the itchy hands from the sugar substitute things.
