Hi everyone! :wave2: I’ve been following the boards for sometime now and now I am finally going to start a PJ :O)
Bride: Lisa Marie - Nurse
Groom: Juan – Double Agent for the Geek Squad.
The Beginning :
Believe it or not, we met online (by pure fate if you ask me). It was during my senior year in high school and I was doing research on what colleges I wanted to attend. I was searching on aol profiles (Yes, pre myspace and facebook lol) for anyone that was online and had FGCU in their profile to get a student's perspective. That's when I came across Juan's profile. Seemed like a nice guy, so I instant messaged him. Turns out that he was thinking about going to FGCU, but caught up in work and never got a chance to, and hadn't taken it out of his profile. We began exchanging instant messages and emails, then it progressed to phone calls. We talked for nearly a year before I had agreed to meet him in person. I was driving home on my birthday Dec 29th, 2002 when Juan called me to wish me a happy birthday. We happened to be in the same area and decided to meet. The meeting spot was that Hallmark parking lot at Page Field Commons. He drove up in his '87 Trans Am, nice build, tan, shaved head (he recently got out of the Air Force and the shaved head…not my favortie hehe), with a cup of ice in hand because he had just got his tongue pierced. We walked over to Books A Million had got a frap from Joe Muggs Cafe. We hung out for about 2 hrs and went on our way. Now with all honesty I was not attracted to him at all, plus I was sorta seeing some one at the time. Our talking on the phone more frequently and he became a close friend. He was always there for me when I needed him, from when I needed to get around the firewall at school so I could download music (Shhhh…. Don’t tell anyone), or if I needed a shoulder to cry on because so and so broke my heart. He literally was my best guy friend. One night Nov 21, 2004 we were hanging out like normal when we fell asleep watching tv in my room at my apt in Gateway, when we woke up, he decided to kiss me. I was thrown off, one because I was just waking up and two, he was my best friend. It's all history from there, we've been together ever since. :cloud9:

I LOVE DISNEY! And you should know that if you know me :) We were on our annual Disney trip March 22, 2007 - March 25, 2007. We checked into The Royal Plaza Hotel in Downtown Disney. On the 23rd we headed to Animal Kingdom and spent the day, Juan said he had something planned for dinner and not to fill up too much on Disney goodies. We headed back to the hotel to shower and get freshened up for dinner, I was curious to see what Juan had planned for dinner. At this point was seemed distracted, I figured it was just because we had a long day at the theme park. We got in the car and headed to dinner. We arrived at Magic Kingdom, I was a little thrown off, but he said we were having dinner at the park, I thought how cool, Ive never had a fancy dinner at the park before. We arrived at Cinderella's Castle. We got our picture taken with Cinderella as we waited for our table to be ready. Our table was ready and we were shown to a two seater table next to the stained glass window facing the carousel. It was so pretty inside, just like a fairytale. We ordered dinner and picked out our dessert because they do all the ordering up front. Juan excused himself to go to the bathroom and I enjoyed the view. We enjoyed a nice dinner, but throughout the whole night, Juan seemed distracted, like I couldn't grab his attention. We finished our main course, which was delicious, and it was time for dessert. Well, here comes the Fairy God Mother from Cinderella with a silver covered platter in her hands. She makes her way to our table and says that she has made a wish come true tonight. She placed the silver platter on the table in front of me and lifted the cover off. On the plate was a glass slipper, surrounded by rose pedals, in the glass slipper was a diamond ring. The next thing I knew, Juan was on one knee giving some speech (which I remember nothing of because I was in shock) asking me to marry him. The whole restaurant was clapping and congratulating us. The glass slipper had both out names inscribed on one side, on the other side it said "will you be my princess?" and on the inside, it had the date he proposed. It was my own fairytale. They brought out my real desert, which was a white chocolate slipper with the words "will you marry me?" written in chocolate on the plate. As we were enjoying our dessert and I was in awe, fireworks started and we had front row seats, it was truly magical and I was with my prince charming.

That is an amazing engagement story! Very romantic. Me and my DF also were really good friends before we started dating, and like you, one day we just kissed, and have been together ever since! I am using the same locations as you so I am very excited to follow your plans, I don't see too many brides using ADH on here! Can't wait to here more! (P.S. my bday is Dec 29th too!)

The Best Man: Edwin.
Juan and Edwin have been friends forever. Both their dads were in the Army and they were stationed in Korea for 3-4 years. The stories I hear about them two are crazy!
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b198/lilkae1229/n12810469_35275199_5010004.jpg
The Matron of Honor: Joy
Joy and I have know each other since the 7th grade. We were in all the same classes together 7th and 8th grade.... yea we were teachers pets and usually got our way. We ended up going to different high schools but that didn't keep us apart and oh, the trouble we got into was priceless. I love our friendship, we could go months without talking and pick up right where we left off. We made a promise when we were in middle school to be each others MOH. She got married our senior year of high school and I was her MOH. So now its her turn for MOH.

Groomsman: Austin
Juan and Austin work together at Geek Squad. You get those two in a room together and it's like they are speaking another language lol Geek talk.
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b198/lilkae1229/5375_1134887544825_1606410138_30508.jpg
Bridesmaid: Hope
Hope and I met in nursing school. I don't think we could have made it through it without each other. Juan and Austin say her and I can talk without saying anything lol apparently we are telepathic.
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b198/lilkae1229/8321_1155281294656_1606410138_30560.jpg
Side note: Hope and Austin used to date, which when we asked them to be apart of our wedding I thought it was cute that two of our friends were dating....well now they are not and he is seeing someone else now. They both said there is no hard feeling and they don't mind walking down the isle together.....but that's not what I am worried about, I hope his new girl understands that and doesn't make a scene. I haven't met her yet, but I do plan on talking to her, I mean who know if they will still be together in 6 months, so I guess we will see.

I had a countdown on my Iphone waiting for the 12 month mark so I could call and get the date and venue I wanted. 12/11/09 came and I awaited to hear if I got what I wanted...... Well I got an email from Diane Mahoney-Brown saying that 3 other couples want ADH. What? Come on, seriously? :scared1: How dare they lol. Well okay, into the lottery I go. The anticipation was killing me, now I have to wait longer? Uggghhh okay. Well I had a final that day, so I had to put that aside and take the final.
After what felt like days (probably only a few hours lol) I found out that I didn't get the ADH :headache: I have to pick someone else?!? I didn't plan on that. Oh boy the anxiety. :scared:
Ok after having a debate in my nursing class....oh yes the teacher let me take sometime to discuss while she graded the finals. I decided on the GF. I had seen some really beautiful receptions there. Ok decision made. Okay what now? I have to wait another 4 months to book at the GF?!?! Oh I think I am getting an ulcer. Breathe in, breathe out. You'll get your date, just be patient I kept repeating to myself.
So, another countdown goes into the Iphone........
A few days before I can officially sign, I get an email from Diane saying that the couple who had the ADH, decided to post pone their date and it was now available if I was still interested. What?!? Of course! SO....YAY  I ended up with ADH after all. :dance3: I felt like a little girl when she gets her first kiss with all the butterflies in her stomach i was on cloud 9 :cloud9:
SO, WP at 12 and ADH 1-6. All set!

Saturday July 3, 2010-
Got up about 730 am and attempted to get a head start on things…..somehow that never really works out for me. We brought our cats to DF’s parents’ house last night so we wouldn’t have to do it in the morning. Here are our feline children….

We spent some time playing around with our huskey, J (Yes, just the letter J haha, he came with the name Jerry, I am not sure who would name a huskey Jerry, but they did, we couldn’t really think of anything else, so we just went with J :O) ). We headed to the boarding place to drop off J. I’ll tell you, it was so hard for me to leave him….he looked up at me with those piercing blue eyes, like “Why are you leaving me?” Oh it was hard, but I trust the place, we have used them before and they were fantastic. Here is a picture of J....
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b198/lilkae1229/j.jpg
Now on to Davenport, FL to meet up with my Uncle Chuck, Aunt Robyn and my 2 younger cousins, Brittany and Alexa. They were visiting from NY and were staying for 9 days and offered for Juan and I to stay with them. It worked great. I got to spend time with family, Juan really got to know them, we didn’t have to pay for a hotel and we were only about 20 mins from Disney!
We arrived about 3:30pm and found out that my cousin EJ had come down from Jacksonville to spend the day. It just started to rain as we got there but we still managed to have a yummy BBQ. I have no pictures because my camera was in the car and it was pouring :P We had a blast catching up….but it’s off to bed because we are spending 4th of July in MK!!!!

Sunday July 4, 2010 - Day 2
I can’t believe we were going to be in MK for the 4th of July. I couldn’t wait until the fireworks. Juan and I went to guest relations to exchange our AP passes!! We were uber excited. I felt like a little kid all over again. My family laughed when they saw how giddy I was when we were handed our passes. Since this was the girls first visit to MK, I made sure to get them 1st visit buttons. They felt special walking around and CM saying, welcome and asking how their visit is going. The crowd was unbelievable. I mean I knew it would be busy….but it was insane. Juan isn’t a big crowd kind of guy….he has informed me to enjoy the day….because he’s not coming again when it’s soooo packed. I just laughed and he smiled because we both know that was an empty threat, hahah.
I have no pictures…..I know shame on me….but I forgot my camera at the house. I don’t know how I did it, but it happened. My Aunt has pictures, but refuses to give them to me because she is doing something with them. I told her it was just to share with my support group on the disboards but she wouldn’t give in. Oh well…..I’ll keep you posted on what she has up her sleeve. We enjoyed the day. I made sure that they tried a dole whip…..Oh how they are the best!
On to the fireworks. I cannot tell you how overwhelming the crowds were. My goal was to get the girls somewhere they would be able to see where they wouldn’t have someone taller than them in front of them. I have to tell you, there were some mean pushy people there. Come on people we are at Disney have some compassion and heart…..be nice. I asked one tall family if they would mind if the girls stood in front of them and they told me they don’t want anyone in front of them. Seriously? I’m not asking for me…. I’m asking for a 9 and 12 year old….grrrr…how rude….whatever. As we shuffle along like penguins, we found a great place to the left of the castle. The fireworks were unlike anything I had ever seen. They were coming from every direction. I loved how the finale had fireworks all round the park. No matter what direction you faced, there were fireworks. Disney really does it right.
July 5, 2010 - Day 3
It rained all day, so we decided to make it a lazy day. We stayed at the house and just relaxed.
Up next….The Planning Session!!!!!

Okay, so apparently life has gotten in the way of my PJ.....So I am resurrecting my PJ with LOTS of updates!!!
Starting with finishing the PS!!!!
July 6, 2010
I am not normally a morning person, but boy I was ready to go that morning!! We got ready, grabbed a cup of coffee and were on our way. I cannot tell you how nervous I was lol, we were meeting our planner Meri for the first time and plan our wedding!! It was so surreal.
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b198/lilkae1229/DSC00806.jpg
We pulled up to the Boardwalk and I could feel my stomach doing flips and flops. We walked in and were greeted by a cast member, as we were talking to him, Meri showed up. She was so sweet and made me feel comfortable. She showed us to our room, where all the ‘magic’ would happen that day!!!
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b198/lilkae1229/DSC00804.jpg
Look!!! Our names :O)
Okay, so we started with the napkin fold……. They will alternate baby blue and chocolate brown
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b198/lilkae1229/DSC00794.jpg
Meri asked me if there were any allergies or dietary restrictions they should know about…..I dislike mushrooms….I think it’s a texture thing….I don’t like anything crunchy in my pasta, potato salads…etc I guess I am just weird like that….Meri and the chef found it amusing :O)
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b198/lilkae1229/DSC00796.jpg
The bacon-crusted beef and blue cheese meatballs were AMAZING!! We could just serve that and I would be happy. It was paired with a vegetarian dish of vegetable somosa with sun dried tomato and red pepper coulis…… which was delish…..
Next up was a quesada….nothing special, but tasty….
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b198/lilkae1229/DSC00797.jpg
The seafood pasta was yummy…..but there were crunchy things in there like, onions, celery and whatnot that I was not found of hahaha
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b198/lilkae1229/DSC00798.jpg
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b198/lilkae1229/DSC00799.jpg
This was the lobster and plantain (I don’t remember the actual name of the dish) salad. I love seafood but wasn’t impressed….the presentation was nice though
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b198/lilkae1229/DSC00800.jpg
Mango sorbet in a martini glass….it was soooooo yummy…..i almost forgot to take a picture…the sorbet comes in a ball and not all mashed up like I am eating it :O)
Mahi Mahi with a mango chutney…..Oh how I love Mahi Mahi….oh how I was not impressed with this dish….it was too spicy (not a fan of spicy food) and it was on the dry side… The chef said he could leave out what makes it spicy and there wasn’t too much that could be done for the “dryness” because they are not cooking the dish at the ADH, it has to be transferred and reheated….okay so off the menu it went.
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b198/lilkae1229/DSC00801.jpg
Looking at all this food again is making me hungry!!
Two-pepper rubbed beef strip loin with worcestershire demi and horseradish, basil mashed potatoes and parmesan crusted chicken breast with sundried tomato cream sauce…… yum…..
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b198/lilkae1229/DSC00802.jpg
It was funny, because Meri said she can always tell when a bride is on the disboards because they usually always request the parmesan crusted chicken breast :O)
Both were absolutely delish and made the cut!!
Now that we are both stuffed…..on to the cake!!!!
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b198/lilkae1229/DSC00805.jpg
We decided on top layer- almond cake with amaretto mousse, bottom layer- tropical mousse with yellow cake and the ¼ sheet cake- baileys mousse with chocolate cake…..I so needed a glass of milk after that!!
This is what our cake will look like but with 2 layers….
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b198/lilkae1229/brown-blue-round-layered-wedding-cake.jpg
The centerpieces will look like this but will have white hydrangea….. at the sweetheart table, they will have white roses…..they will have the thick baby blue ribbon and the small chocolate brown ribbon around them
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b198/lilkae1229/karla-0525.jpg
My bouquet…..white roses and hydrangeas and some hidden mickeys wrapped with white ribbon
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b198/lilkae1229/large_image.jpg
Girls bouquets……white hydreangea wrapped in brown ribbon (their dresses are pool blue, ill post pics soon)
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b198/lilkae1229/smallwhitehydrangea.jpg
The groom will have a white rose with a hidden mickey and they guys will have hydrangea boutonnieres
That about wraps up the PS….we said our goodbyes. I have to admit it was all a little overwhelming…..we just planned our entire wedding from start to finish…..now nothing like relaxin… we headed off to Epcot to meet up with the fam and ride some rides!!

The next day we had breakfast at Shoneys and said goodbye to my family because they were headed back to NY and we were headed up to Ormond Beach (near Daytona beach) to see a cardiac ablation specialist… Juan was diagnosed with atrial fibrillation with atrial tachycardia Aug 2009….he has been cardioverted twice(where they shock you with the paddles to knock the heart back into rhythm) with no success….so now our option was the have a cardiac ablation done (an invasive procedure used to remove a faulty electrical pathway from the heart). Yeah, our trip was pleasure then now on to business…. :O(
The upside to going to Ormond Beach is that we got a killer deal on a hotel…..we stayed at the Hilton right on the beach near the boardwalk for about 80/night using priceline negotiator….thank you William Shatner! Here are some pics…..

We enjoyed a nice evening on the beach and then headed back to the hotel….tomorrow Juan would be heading into heart surgery at 5am the next morn….I slept like crap….I was a nervous nelly…
Before we knew it, it was time to get to the hospital…to make a long story short, after 5 hours of surgery, everything went well. :O) Stayed one night in the hospital and were on our way home the next day. Not before stopping at DTD for lunch where we bought our wedding ears!!!
