Sign ups are now starting for the second round of the Pen Pal Letter Swap.
This is a 6 month committment. You are asked to check into the thread with a JCI-(Just checking in), hi, or any other comment so that I know you are still around WEEKLY. I will be checking the threads to see if you are checking in. This will be REQUIRED! If you will be away during the swap period, please pm me the dates you will be away.http://bestsmileys.com/waving/3.gif
All names will be mixed. I will try to pair pen pals up according to ages, likes, children's ages, hobbies...or such if someone has something in common. If not, it could be a random match. Depending on who, and how many people sign up, you may or may not have the same pen pal as the first round. International pen pals are welcome to participate as long as we find someone who is in the same country as you, or pen pals that are willing to send internationally.
For each month, there will be one or more Topic of the Month. These will be questions that you will answer in your pen pal letter. Then there will be the Twist of the Month which will be optional-(in the past mostly everyone seemed to have participated in each one of the twists). But these twists could be something to bring out the artistic side of you in which you have to make something, you may be asked to buy a specific item to match a certain theme..... Not all 6 months require you to buy an item, and items should be inexpensive, and easy to mail unless you choose otherwise.http://bestsmileys.com/gift/1.gif
This is a fun way to get to know others on the DIS board, to receive a fun letter rather than a bill in the mail, and I personally enjoy the twists as well...you may as well. ;)http://bestsmileys.com/mail/5.gif
Letters can either be handwritten, or typed. It is your choice, but it must be mailed. For each month letters MUST be mailed by the second Sunday of the month. NO EXCEPTIONS! So if I do not hear from you, or give you an okay to send out your letter a couple days later, you will be taken out of the swap. I am sorry to have to do this, but with previous experiences, it is hard to keep track of all the arrivals, and mailings if they do not go accordingly.
If you see someone on this thread say that they are signing up to join, and you would like to be their pen pal, just let me know. -(But if you were their pen pal previous, I may not allow this....just so that others may get to be their new pen pal for this round-it all depends on who, and how many people sign up).http://bestsmileys.com/mail/4.gif
