I've made it a whole month without a cigarette gang! I've also been without a nicotene patch for a week! Woooo Hoooo! I think I've done it! Thanks for all your support and encouragement, it really did help!
Now, if I can just get off this gum/mint habit?:teeth:

Congradulations!!! The worst part is over. You must be feeling the difference by now. Just think about how good you will feel when your at the "world" and not have to have a ciggy break and waste that valuable mouse time!!!

Congratulations, jennymouse! I'm so very proud of you.
I failed miserably, but that doesn't mean I won't try it again. I WILL be smoke-free by DISCON!

Congrats!!!
Keep up the good work!
My father in law quit a few years ago after 30 years of pretty heavy smoking (a quite a few attempts to quit). And one thing he really noticed (aside from the extra money) is he is able to taste food a lot better, have you noticed any changes?

Aw, man, I'm sorry disneycub. Just try it again. You'll do it. I think it's harder when you're around smokers alot. And you really have to set your mind to it. I've got faith you'll do it though.
nicknamy1996, yes, I've noticed the difference in how things smell & taste. For example, I used to eat Oatmeal every morning and now I don't like the taste of it. And I always knew my cat's canned food smell pretty gross, but now I can't hardly stand to open the can in the house.LOL And his breath after he eats, ugh.
My sinuses are still pretty messed up, but I guess they'll get better. I don't cough any more.;)
I'm VERY SERIOUS when I say that the encouragment I got here was invaluable.....especially the first few days. Thank you sooooo much.:)

Oh, Steve, I hope we didn't throw you too far off your plan during Barb-Con! Just get back with it, we know we'll see you as a non-smoker by DIS-CON!

Way to go jennymouse. Never go back.
For those who have not been able to quit, please do it for yourselves and your families. It took me 2 years to kick that awful habit, I was up to 3 packs a day. I've not had one in 10 years now.:Pinkbounc

disneycub,
Don't get discouraged! You can do it!!! My SO's boss tried 6 times before he was finally able to quit. He had been smoking nearly 30 years. If he could quit, any of us can!!!! Just keep trying!
Jennymouse,
Just try your oatmeal in a few more weeks. It took me about 2 months before things stopped tasting so funky. I thought sweet tea was the most horrible thing in the world for a while LOL! One thing you will notice is that things are richer. Wait till you get some buttercream cake icing (my mom and I cater, so I am messing in that all the time) I never imagined it tasted soooo goood. Lord, I could bury my head in a bowl of it:p
Oh, and the cat food.... EEEEWWWW!!!!! I never realized how bad that stunk, or how awful my cat's breath was. Is that normal? Are cats supposed to have funky breath?

dmslush, it's funny you should say that since I'm sitting at my desk eating peanut butter & jelly this very minute! Now all I need is a big ol' tub of that icing for desert, I'd be allllllll set!LOL :p
