Mini-meets... Please Read!!!!

I had all of you who were interested in hosting a mini meet email me.. This is what I have so far.. If you have an idea for a mini meet that you would like to host.. please post here.. The Discon Committee will review these meets and place them in appropriate spots around the scheduled events..

1. December 99 - Chef Mickey's December 8, 5:00pm

2. TnRobin.. family meet at Fort Wilderness sitting around campfire watching movies etc.

3. Brian Sullivan - Fishing Mini Meet. Morning

4. Carol A.. - Krispy Kreme Mini Meet.. the real thing, heading out in cars going to get hot donuts

5. Disneycub, Steve, Candlelight Processional and dinner meet (this one is cancelled... just received a PM)

6. Dave Harris - 50's Prime Time Mini Meet, December 5.. 5:00pm

7. Barry... Ride the Mountains at WDW
Buzz Lightyear Shoot off
2 hr. rnr and tot marathon
Possible world showcase tour with drinks.. :)

8. CDoobee's Kevin hosting a real golf meet not miniature golf

9. Susan Yenne - possible pin meet

10... Patrick Thornton - Hoop de Doo Revue December 3rd

11. Barb and Pat - DVC Meet

12. Barb, GF Tea...

13. Barb... teehee British Invasion Meet... maybe tied into drinks at Rose & Crown with Oldkicker..

14.. Linda (Figmentvi) MVMCP and dinner December 3

15. I know there is another MVMCP meet... after discon..

Marsha, I have a quick question...If there are mini meets that fall outside of the official DIS-Con dates (such as before the 4th or after the morning of the 8th) do you still need to okay them first? And do they get posted on Patrick's (Patinmn) Itinerary? I just want to make sure I understand this. Thanks. :)

Along with Tia's question, Taryn, Fantasia Sam, and I are hosting the newbie/veteran meets on Dec 2,3,4. Do they need to be included/approved? This is going to be great fun

Follow Tias idea and have a park per day approach

Also, I know Ray wants to do the horse and buggy rides at FW, before/after (?) the Hoop De Doo Review. Wow! I didn't realize there were so many meets already planned! We're going to run out of time! LOL

As for the mountains meet, etc. You could always incorporate those withih the thrill rides meet. This would be for those that don't want to do all four parks in one day.:)

I thought the Thrill Rides Meet last year was great! We got to spend the day with our group and really "bonded" because it was such a long time.

As for anything that falls outside of these dates, go for it. We just need to know what is going on during the actual DIS Con dates, so we can schedule things without too much going on at the same time.

Good idea Barb! If each group starts at a different park, those wanted to meet with the MK group could start at the Mountains at a designated time and the MGM group could start at ToT/RnR.

What a GREAT idea to start out with the Thrill rides meet with the Mountains tour at MK. That way those of us that wanted to stay in the MK could and those that wanted to keep on "thrilling" could.

What great brains you guys have!

Suggestion to committee:

Keep the RnR/ToT meet on a separate day (An MGM day) from the MK Mountains meet, so that folks can stay in MK for other meets and still do the RnR/ToT. I think that there are people that want to do this with eating Turkey Legs and Chickening out from the rides.

OK.........Commandos..... Let's just get through getting all the meets here on this thread.. We will then decide which ones are redundant.. and which ones fall out of the realm of DisCon... I did not say we would approve them.. I said we would review and place them accordingly......Once we get them in place, we can have them on the Itinerary if Pat so chooses.. Have a great Saturday... :) :) :) :)

That's true. Last year we had some meets that were at the same time or crossed over into others. We had to choose and some meets were unattended, leaving the host by him/herself. :(

Yesterday I was travelling from Rhode Island from my daughter's bridal shower up to North Hampton, NH, for a Gatsybesque birthday part for a friend of Tom's... that is how I have to describe it, huge tent set up on this incredible, incredible ocean mansion property.. it was so decadent, I loved it.. LOLOLOL

But while the cat was away the mice were playing I see.. Hmmmm.. so we are starting that again... I will never tell where I am staying... but those others can probably be bribed... cheap liquor, whatever.. Hugs, made me laugh this morning.

I was thinking of a new ride meet. For those who don't make it to WDW very often, we can ride Primeval Whirl at AK one day and Journey into Imagination at Epcot another.

Barry, I was thinking the same thing. The new Primeval Whirl isn't a bad ride. It's kind of fun in it's own right, but I hate that the whole section is back there in AK. (topic for the debate board) ;) And, I do love the new Figment ride. Bill and I road it three times in June!! It's a keeper. :)

And we HAVE to do the Krispy Kreme donuts run too, Meg is addicted. Unfortunately they opened one closer to Toronto and Meg came home with a dozen. Being the awful Mom that I am, I think I ate 6!!!!!!! I couldn't stop!! :) So now Meg wants to get her own that she thinks I won't steal on her!! ;) :smooth:
