capacity of 5k on marathon weekend?

Yes, the limit is 4000 and it will fill by Sept/Oct!

Hello,
Thanks for the information so far. I am seriously thinking about entering this event. However, I cannot imagine doing it along with 4,000 of "my closest friends". Can anyone on the boards share any information about what it is like?

I have been running off and on for the past couple of years and really need to have "something to shoot for" and I feel this would be a good goal for me. DH and I are planning our next trip, leave 12/30/2010 and fly home on the 01/08/2011. I am planning on enter a 5K or two so this will not be my first one.

Any information you can share would be most appreciated.

It was alot of fun last year.It is crowded at first but like with any other race it thins out as people run at different paces.I would recommend it.We are doing it again in Jan 2011.Lots of fun.

I wouldn't plan to run this as a race for time. The crowds at the beginning and dodging of little people can sometimes bring you to a walk. It is REALLY fun though. Bring the camera with and stop for characters along the way.
