We'll be there Nov. 28 - Dec. 5. It sounds like WDW is going to be unusually busy that week (based on the number of DIS'ers who say they are going then). Let's just hope it's just all DIS'ers and not a trend with the general public! I did check availability for our week a few weeks ago at the GF and the CM said they had nothing for our PIN. Maybe it's all people with PINs and it won't be as crowded as it seems. :confused3 I guess we just got spoiled last October when almost everything was walk on or very limited wait.

There is going to be a lot of DIS'ers at WDW that week, hopefully it is not going to be to crowded.

Well be at the Poly Dec 1 - 4, we are staying at Pop on Nov 27 then moving over to BC CL on Nov 28 - Dec 1, then on to the Poly TPV CL for the rest of the week.(we saved the best for last:thumbsup2)

I've always hopped on those "Official Month 20??" threads, and I'd think there were a ton of people. When I actually got to WDW, it was a breeze. We've never waited in line more than 20 minutes (and that was only because Astro Orbiter lied to us about the wait time). I think the DISers just know when to go while the rest of the travelers are stuck at peak times. ;)

I had to change plans to fit with awesome airfare (140 RT pp :cool1:) and also couldn't stomach rack rate at the Poly over T-giving :scared1: So we will now be at POR 11/25-11/28 and the Poly 11/28-12/03.

Hope to see you all there! :goodvibes

I have only gone once a year for the past few years, but this year I am going 3 times. I have become such an addict. I work to afford my disney fix. I am already thinking I should be planning a trip for March 2011.

Thanks! I checked Airtran. So far nothing nearly as good as yours & we're flying out of Detroit (or Buffalo if necessary) on the 28th too. I guess I'll just have to keep playing around to see if I can come up with something decent. Last year we booked 5 months out from our trip and the prices were much better than's been showing up so far this year. I hate to wait too long though and see things go up even more!

Totally counts!! :thumbsup2

When I was looking in February, I found $150 RTs out of OKC, but I had to wait because we hadn't finalized everyone. Ended up with $190ish pp, but it's just gotten higher since we booked, so I'm glad I ended up with that!!

Air Canada's have actually been coming down, but with all the taxes here and the much higher airfares to begin with I still don't see $546 RT pp as much of a deal!:scared1: (although it was $1000 when I first started checking flights a few months ago!) This is why we will be flying out of a US airport! Still hoping Southwest might have something good to offer, if they'll ever start posting flights after Nov 5!! :headache:

Oh, I'm actually flying on the 25th and doing POR before the Poly. I was having such a hard time finding anything good for 11/28-12/5 myself, so I switched up the dates to make it work.

Just an FYI, I did see there are still flights for $211 RT flying on the 27th and the 5th. I don't know if you'd consider it, but it's possible to fly down on the evening flight on the 27th, stay at the airport and then use ME to get to WDW bright and early on the 28th. Just an idea.

Good luck either way.

I have a split stay booked for 11/30-11/3 at POFQ then "moving on up" to the best, the Poly for 3 nights.
MVMCP already booked for 11/30/10, never been to that so I am very excited, lots of other plans in my head but I have to wait until June 3rd to make them come true as far as ADR's.
Its a surprise trip for my mother, should be awesome! Now if my 194 days, 14 hours and 3 minutes would fly by until I get on the plane!

I just checking the new Touring Plans crowd calendar. We were thinking of going in Nov which shows super low crowds. We switched to Dec to be able to stay at the Poly and add an extra day.

TP is showing a real mix of days with crowds. The day we are touring MK is a 5. In Nov it is a 1. The sacrafices we make to stay at the Poly.:rotfl:

I've read that the PW peeps don't usually affect the parks that much, except sometimes at night when they're not competing. I hope that's true! Of course if you're staying at a value resort it would be a different story! :scared1:

Yeah, WDW itself has more going on than usual, but the crowds aren't that bad. We've been in mid-March, late May, early June, late September, early October and early December and December was, by far, the best crowds (but none of the times were bad by any means). :thumbsup2

Believe it or not, I've never had anything to drink at the Poly. I don't drink around the kids, so I've never had the chance. However, we have more grown-ups than kids (6 to 3!), so when, say, the grandparents are watching the kids at the pool, mommies will be relaxing with a cocktail. :cloud9:

Hi, I am Tracy aka mrsksomeday. We are doing a split stay - WL Nov. 28 - Dec. 7th then moving to the Poly Dec. 7 - Dec. 10th. We are so excited we have never stayed at either resort :woohoo:.

We haven't stayed at WL, either (not for lack of trying, though). It's a GORGEOUS resort. We'll stay there someday, too. At least we'll try!! ;)

DD5 was so cute. She was here when Mr. Fedex arrived. He looked at the envelope and asked "are you going to Disney?" She got so excited because she knew the mail had to be from "the mouse house". When I opened it she almost jumped out of her skin when I told her that Mickey had sent us tickets for his Christmas party! :wizard:

Hey, I'm Tracey too! ("Maia" is really DD7). I can't comment on WL (never stayed there), but if you're anything like us you'll LOVE the Poly! :cloud9:

So cute!!

My mom (who'll be on our trip) is Tracy, too. Tracey/ys and DISers are taking over the Poly!

I follow orders so here I am!

Me. DD8, DD6 and my mom will be at the Poly Dec 4-11

So far the plan is MVMCP Dec 5

Our plan is to be there on the 5th, too. :santa:

We're leaving on the 5th. It's crazy, since it's still 6 months until we go on our trip, but people talking about being there after we leave depresses me! :sad2: I think we all need some serious help! :lmao:

I was getting a little depressed last night trying to plan out which days to go to each park. The unofficial website lists MK only once as the best park to visit during our entire visit, though the crowds listed for most days are 3 and 4. So I am almost to the point of just go where we want on each day and if don't like the crowds then go to another park. That is what is nice about park hoppers. The good side is that we are staying at the Poly.

I get the same way!! Not to mention, when we get there, I see the sad people at MCO with their ears and sunburns. I try to forget it will be us in a week. Then I get to the resort and see the sad people pulling their luggage to the front. I try to forget that will be us in a week. Guess the only semi-cure is to keep going at least once a year. ;)

Ugh!! I really like to take newbies to MK on the first day with a pre-opening ADR, but our first day is a orning EMH, so we're headed to AK instead. I guess it will just build the anticipation for MK. I just think it's soooo amazing to see MK for the first time with an empty Main Street as you're headed to the castle for breakfast. :cloud9:

I look at the best/worst park days but ultimately we go where we want to and utilize fast passes and park hoppers. I think you are absolutely right it will help us staying at the Poly.

We sure could, who knows you may be below us.:lmao: That would be really cool.:woohoo:

And I never thought about doing the MVMCP by myself, I may have to if I can't get her on board.

Yes, I did see the title of the thread - we were originally 12/2 - 12/7 - but then noticed some other later in December listed on the first page, so thought perhaps you were including the second week as well. Both weeks are very popular now. :goodvibes

ADRs

Saturday 10:00 a.m. CM
Sunday 6:00 p.m. CRT
Tuesday 6:15 p.m. Teppan Edo
Thursday 6:00 p.m. Coral Reef
Saturday 6:30 p.m. Le Cellier

We had free dining last year and felt so sick from over eating. So we want to pace ourselves this year.

Looking forward to somekind of meet...We have never done MVMCP because it just does not sound like it is worth the extra money. Last year we had our reservations at CRT and left during the MVMCP. As we walked down Main Street it seemed crowded and we get enough snow in Chicago....I keep talking myself out of the idea, but this is probably our last year for a long time during the holiday season (can't pull the High School student out any more).

I am looking forward to Banana Cabana cocktail and the glowing tinis!:cheer2:

Woo Hoo! Made my ADR's with the Poly IPO on Monday and then found a great flight (nonstop for $184 from Charlotte to Orlando). This has been an awesome week.

Not going to list all the ADR's here. We are doing a TS lunch and a TS dinner each day. I know it is too much food, but it will force my mother to take breaks even when she tells me she isn't tired. (she is a former caterer and she can't resist trying new food ;) and she won't see it as being manipulated into resting). Now that she is older, I feel like I am the parent sometimes :rotfl:

Looks like you all had great success getting your ADR's too! Now the real countdowns can begin.

Getting anxious waiting for our trip to Poly!

I am second guessing my choices for ADR's too, (OCD a bit here). My husband says what ever I have planned, it will be great, so I just hold onto that.

Of course it will be great, we are going to DisneyWorld!!

I obsess about the ADR's until I actually make them. Once I pull the trigger I just leave them alone. It's better that way for my, and my family's sanity! :lmao:

Our first night is at Pop and our final night (that DD doesn't know about yet is at the Dolphin)

The hat part is pink and trimmed in fur and the ears are black and have rinestones on it. She's planning to get a tiara to wear once we get to MK that day. Fall is in the air ... There has been that definite shift in the feel of the weather here. It's still warm during the day, but it's getting quite cool at night and there is a slight difference in the light ... Yay!! Fall is my favourite time of year and we now have that "school is just around the corner" feeling. Which means our trip is short to follow!! I'm actually starting to get those little pangs of anxiety ... "there's so much to do before the trip", "I'm not organized ...".
But what is really ridiculous is I've been going over my DH's work schedule for next year trying to figure out when would be a good time to book a bounce back! :lmao: Hopeless addict ...

I started looking at pricing for 2011 and dates for bounce back too! I have taken my younger sister to Disney and this year am taking my parents. My older sister is a school teacher and told me she wishes I would take her. I have been looking at her school calendar for 2011 and hoping in December I get a bounceback that will work.

We don't let skipping school deter us! Mind you it seems pulling your kids of of school for vacation is much less of an issue here in Ontario than I've heard of in many places in the US. There is going to be a lot of DIS'ers at WDW that week, hopefully it is not going to be to crowded.

Well be at the Poly Dec 1 - 4, we are staying at Pop on Nov 27 then moving over to BC CL on Nov 28 - Dec 1, then on to the Poly TPV CL for the rest of the week.(we saved the best for last:thumbsup2)

up date:
We are not staying at Pop now, thanks to the 40% off room only discount we were able to upgrade to the BC standard room for the night:yay: now all we have to do is change rooms not resorts. I am hoping to get some pixie dust pixiedust:at check in and hopefully they will have a Deluxe CL room for that night available and I can just pay the difference.

I am so very excited. I got my email from the Poly IPO this morning and they were able to book the Le Cellier Candlelight package for me on Monday, November 29.

I have been enjoying the Disney Vacation Connection Widget I downloaded. It counts down days and hours until the trip. Right now I am 92 days and 15 hours away. :cheer2:

Like the rest of you there is much going on between now and the trip so I am hoping time will fly. I have a trip to Ohio to see my Grandma, trip to Atlanta to see college friends, tickets to a few Carolina Panthers games, my mom, dad and both sisters have birthdays. Before you know it it will be Thanksgiving and I will be packed for Disney.

I do have a question for all of you that have stayed there. Do you know if the H2O products the give you are the ones that are blue or are they the green ones they use at the GF? I really love the sea salt ones from the GF.

YEAH today is Friday. I hope you all have a great weekend.

Just installed the widget thanks to you, I didn't know about it before! :thumbsup2 It is displaying a lovely 68 days. That sounds so much better than 2 months!

I am glad you were able to get the widget. Now you can happy dance with me every 10 days :dance3:

maiapapaya, paras4ri, and PolyndianPrincessJes I am so glad I am not the only one!!!! My family thinks I am nuts for preparing this early on, but I am NOT going to pack and then unpack warm weather clothes and if we forget something - guess who everyone looks at. My DH packs the night before we leave :scared1:....drives me nuts.

I have a good trunk filled with already for the trip! Now I am just waiting for the cold weather to stay so I can pull the suitcases out and pack away the warm weather clothes! (90 degrees in Chicago today :rotfl2:) Planning a WDW for November/December is the only reason I look forward to the cooler weather!

I can't believe I did it! I just paid off our vacation 66 days early! I never thought we would be able to stay in such style.

I am so excited to be sharing such a dream vacation with my kids. Especially my DD. She is fighting growing up, but I know it will happen eventually. She loves to play in the sand and be a little girl, and she still believes!! (we have told her the truth about everything, but she still finds reasons to believe)

Maybe we can put in on our resume too!!!! Can I tell you how many friends I've made at work once they see the Disney stuff in my office - I get a "you too?" and the conversations start flowing. The people I work with know I can be a very serious and yes sometimes sturn and cranky person at work but mention the D word and I am all smiles and planning.

I actually have friends that went to Disney for the first time this year (2 different families). I became their best friend when I started sharing plans and tips to make their trips good. They didn't even know they needed ADR's. They told me I needed to make planning for Disney a career. Too bad that won't pay my bills and especially pay for my trips to the world. I love to plan and share Disney.

Just dropping by for my monthly ritual ... our ticker now starts with a big, beautiful 1!!:banana: (as per usual the other 29 days are incidental ... :rolleyes1) ... or 61 days (by the widget) 'til Poly, 60 to our evening pre-trip arrival at Pop.

I'm actually starting to get that pre-trip anxiety ... must update lists (can't forget anything), have to get t-shirts made etc. I do have the girls' autograph books done, so I am making some progress. I think for me the pre-trip stuff is half the fun!

Howdy all! I have been MIA for about a week. I sort of went through a mini depression because I want to go to WDW now! Well I am now over it, since a friend went recently and is sharing her experience with me.

It hit me this morning that my final payment will occur in October. Once that is done I think it will really feel more 'real' that we will be going.

I have been thinking about changing one of my ADR's. I have one for 4:30 at 50's Prime Time for 4:30. I hope this gives us enough time to eat then go to Fantasmic. We prefer sitting off to the side so I am not worried about where we sit, just more worried about getting there in time before it starts.

Glad you are back! No need to be sad now. Before you know it our vacations will be here.

I hate it when I start second guessing my ADR's. I am in the same boat. I did not buy tickets to MVMCP this year because last year it was so crowded and I didn't enjoy it that much. I am taking my mom and dad this year and my mother is disabled and the crowds really worried me, plus it makes a very late night. Now I am wondering if I should move an ADR and get the tickets so she could see the Christmas parade.:santa:

We had 4:30 ADRs at Mama Melrose (it was actually the Fantasmic package), and we had plenty of time to eat, ride ToT a couple of times and make it to Fantasmic. Of course, this was before they reduced the nights. I'd still think you have plenty of time if the seating isn't too important to you.

I will leave it alone then. Seating isn't important to us at all. We found sitting to the side where most people don't sit, was more enjoyable then being crammed in with others who don't always behave while waiting for the show.

I got each of the girls a black stretchy halter top with zebra fabric ties and zebra minnie silloutte wearing a red bow. They will wear them for our breakfast at Tusker House. I also got DD8 a set that is a pink polka dot skirt (with a faux crinoline) and a white halter top with a Cinderella applique and pink polka dot ties. Her Cinderella dress no longer fits and she decided to sport a "big girl" princess look for our Akershus dinner. DD5 will still be wearing her deluxe Sleeping Beauty gown of course (a very generous birthday gift from a family friend), since DD5 is all about the bling (I pity the man that marries her ... she's gonna be very high maintenance! :lmao:)

Feels great, doesn't it?!

As for a meet, we are pretty booked up (thanks to my obsessive planning ;)). We could probably swing something after dinner on the Thursday that week (the 2nd I think). We'll be eating at 'Ohana that night with nothing planned after. Our breakfasts are either ADR's or in room & dashing to the parks for EMH, so a morning meet wouldn't really work for us (except for our last day, but I don't know if anyone wants to deal with us pouting!). Failing that we are hoping to get in some pool time in the afternoons weather permitting.

I don't have a current picture of my gang. But I have been creating some nice sized lime green mickey heads with taylor3297 written on it. If you yell Taylor at me I will look around to see if someone is talking to me. I have used Taylor as my screen name for years.

Otherwise, you can just yell out Ashley and I will say hello. The only thing is, I tend to remember people's screen names better than their real names. So you will need to tell me your screen name and not just your real name. Is this making sense? I am so tired right now.

I was excited to get the DME tags. I use DME to get to the resort, but I go get my own luggage. I had one bad experience with DME getting my luggage and now I find it less stressful to just go get my own and know that when my room is ready, all I have to do is ring bell services and it is delivered.

I feel like a kid at Christmas. :santa: I can hardly wait for the mail man to come each day to see if my WDW package is in the mail.

Does anyone remember how long before your arrival date the WDW package usually arrives (not ME, but the vouchers, castle luggage tags etc)?

I thought it was around 45 days before since that is when it is completely paid for, but I haven't gotten mine yet. I run to the mailbox every day as soon as the mail man comes but :confused3 no Disney package yet.

I thought the rest was closer to 30 days. Less time to lose it. ;)

30 days does ring a bell ... I guess I should be expecting something late this week or early next (since we're at 32 days ... not that I'm counting :rolleyes1)

Mail is either the most exciting or disappointing time while waiting for Mickey Mail.
