This swap will consume a lot of your time and will be on the expensive side for the materials and mailing. Please make sure you can handle both.

Newbies can join this swap. However I would like you to either email me or pm me your prototypes for each letter. I am asking this, because there has not been a page swap for awhile and the requirements for a page swap differ from element swaps. I would like to make sure that the prototype will meet the requirements. I know I was nervous with my first page swap so I emailed the hostess my page, eventhough she did not ask. The BASICS:

This is a Disney ABC completed page swap, with the addition of making 2 completed albums to donate to my local Make A Wish Foundation. It is a way to honor Disney's GAD and to make 2 special kids with extreme difficulties in life a little brighter.

In the 3rd post I have a compiled ABC ideas for each letter, but if you have something for that letter you have in mind and it is a general Disney theme please pm me first to make sure it will meet to the requirements(nothing to Disney specific) or you can use one of the selected ideas. When you choose your letters let me know your topic so I can add it to the sign up list in the third post.

Each participation is to choose 2 letters. For each letter you will need to make a total of 15 completed pages that meet all the requirements (listed below) for the page. Why 15? Thirteen will be for each swapper to receive and then the other 2 pages will be going into the 2 albums for the MAW foundation.

For the MAW albums only: As a way to give credit to all those who made this possible I thought we each would make only 2 tags; one for each book. Please include your first name only, disname, state you live in, and what letters you did for the book. On the other side you can write a disneyism or some well wishes or such I will leave the size up to you, but make sure it has 2 layers, something in the hole and embellished. And remember it is just 2 per group that you are in.:goodvibes




The REQUIREMENTS:

One 12x12 page layout for a total of 15 pages per letter. A total of 30 completed pages. Each page needs to include:

1. Title: The letter you have chosen should be larger and standout from than the rest of the title. It needs to a minimum of 2 inches (top layer), matted, and embellished. The first letter can be larger than 2 in order to standout. For the remainder of the title the letters can be a topper, letter, borders, block or tag, letters on squares or other shapes or stamped (with a flair-embossing, stickling, hand coloring, or shadowed, etc.).

AND

2. Option A: 2 places for 4x6 photos and a place for journaling visible or hidden
3. Option B: 1 place for 4x6 photo and 2 or 3 or more places for smaller photos and place for
journaling visible or hidden
AND
Embellished in some way on the page - elements, Jolee's, layers of paper, ribbon/fiber, chipboard pieces, etc.

3. Option C: Choose one of the sketches that are pictured in post number 2 and make your page based on the sketch. You should use 3 or more different papers, embellish as the sketch demonstrates to do so, and make sure your letter choice stands out, is 2 inches or more, matted and embellished (like the altered letters).

-You are allowed to rotate the sketch/map in any direction you want.
-Please try to stay as true to the sketch/map as possible.
-You are not required to double mat your elements or have to embellish the elements one/two way. -You can add a mat layer to the photo placements if you like. That is the only alteration to the layout that should be done.
-You may use any kind of embellishment you like on these sketches where they are indicated or in place of a “layer” of paper. Ribbon and fiber are good substitutions for paper layers.
-You may use different embellishments on each of your layouts. Please ensure they are of the same quality.

For all three option choices please, no hand lettering on any items. You may use computer fonts, rub-ons, stamps, die cut letters, etc. Embellished means using brads, eyelets, charms, ribbon, 3D stickers (matted stickers are ok, too), clip art, stamped images, glitter/embossed/bling paper, inking, tearing, embossing (dry & heat), or extra layer of any paper. All elements should be double-matted and embellished in some other way unless otherwise noted (the option to do a selected sketch follows slightly different standards listed above). If you don’t know if yours is okay, ask me.

Please use a layer of card stock as your base. You may completely cover it with thinner paper. It is very difficult to sort them when they bend and sometimes the embellishments get caught.

Please use quality paper on your layouts. I will not limit your “name” brands, but please use good judgment. If the patterned paper doesn't have a name printed on it, don't use it.


The ELEMENTS:

Title/Topper: please follow your option choice for guidelines.
Photo Mats: for a 4 x 6 photo without cropping. Again, two layers as the photo sits on top of these. Please be sure that your embellishment does not infringe upon the placement of the photo.
Journal Box: at least a 3x3 writing area, triple matted (the writing area is the 3rd layer) and embellished
Tag: double matted and embellished another way in addition to either ribbon/fiber or eyelet/brad in the hole.
Border: 12 inches long double matted and embellished
Embellished squares: largest mat should be no larger than 2" minimum 2 layers and embellished
Slide Mounts: creative here please
Matchbooks: embellished and make sure to enclose a blank page in the matchbook.
Library Pocket and Tag: embellished, no smaller than to hold a 2x3 tag embellished 2 ways that should also have ribbon/fiber or eyelet in the hole
Shaker Box: be creative please
Paper Piecing: be creative please (not a single layer die cuts)
License Plate: be creative please
Altered Paper Clips: 3 large size ones
ATC: 1PP be creative please


Packaging and Shipping Info

Place one letter choice in it's own 2-gallon baggie and label the baggie with your real name, DISname, Group A or B, and letter. So you will have 2x 2 gallon bags per group.

-Please send enough postage to cover the mailing your package back to you. If you would like delivery confirmation include enough for that as well. Do NOT use the Click-it postage from USPS. I cannot use it. It has to be used the day it was printed. Stamps, check or cash are acceptable.
-If you don't mind the delay in return shipping, you may use non-priority to save some $$. Please use packaging I can reuse and send 3-4 extra stamps from what it cost you to mail it to me. Just in case some pages are heavier than others.
-Please include a completed address label in the box you send to me. This will cut down on mailing mistakes.

Ok...on the title (in the center) I am doing Earning My Ears. Can I make Ears larger (like the E 3" and the a, r & s 2") then have the "Earning My" smaller going up along side the edge of the E? Or, would it be better just to make the title Ears? I like the idea the first way, but didn't know if it was ok because the "Earning My" wouldn't be 2". After this, I think I'm all sketched out. I will just have to make my supply list and get to the store. My AC Moore is HORRIBLE! So, I want to wait until I can get to the regular scrapbook store which is about and hour and a half away. I don't think I will get to the store before next weekend, but should be started by mid-May!!

Your first idea sounds great. You have the "E" standing out from everything else and the rest of the title included. I can't wait to see it all.

I wanted to get the sketch done and all laid out...feel like that's the hardest part. If it's done, it's a huge weight lifted!!

And...guess what??? I have another question!!! (I know...BIG surprise!! LOL) But, I swear this is the last...because I have to get back to work on some other swaps!!!! For the sketches...I have never used one. I like the idea. I just am not sure about the journaling. I am using the first one. Do I add the journal lines and a sticky note so they know to write their journaling in there when plaing pictures (more for the MAW albums) or do I add an extra layer of blank paper or totally leave it blank??

From seeing the end results of AWM's sketch swap everyone just added the lines by either carefullying drawing them on there or using a stamp. You do not need to add a layer. If you would like to add to sticking notes to just 2 of them that is fine. I may end up doing that as well. I have not done sketch's in a swap before (kicking myself for not joing Ann's), but I have tried a few on my own and like them a lot. I checked out the pix from AWM's page swap already!! LOL THey were great and I was jealous of many of them!! :rolleyes1 Something similar to some of them may end up in one or two of my books!! Anyway...you absolutely answered my question. I will get the lines on one way or another. I think I have a stamp. I know I have a stencil. And, if all else fails, I have a ruler and pencil. I will add the two sticky notes on the MAW pages.

I don't know...I was originally signed up for T for treats to do the sweet stuff, but switched it to the Y for yummy because I figured Y was a harder letter to fill. Do you have an Archiver's by you? I think I have seen it there before.

Joann's used to carry it, but lately I have only seen it in the red and multicolor.

While I was out to check my J's (of course notta) I decided to go next door to Ross. I knew they carried some scrapping stuff. Can you imagine my excitement when I found these:

Hopefully we can get that last spot filled! We now have 4 albums for the MAW albums, since we now have 99% of the 2 groups filled. I do have another one of the princess albums I bought in Dec.

I want to personally thank everyone for joining this swap. MAW is something I hold dear to my heart. Can you imagine how wonderful this is going to be to each child when they are handed these albums? As a Mom, who scraps and had a child who received a wish, I would personally be speechless. These albums now will be able to hold their childs memories of their trip to Disney. Eventhough the trip does not last a lifetime, these albums will. And if/when that child does leave this earth and goes to :littleangel: their parents will have these to cherish and always be able to remember the magic their child experienced.

The last time we did this, with the autograph albums, myself, my ds2, and my wish ds with his nurse delivered the albums to MAW on his 13th birthday. Thanks to everyone who contributed to the albums not only did you provide a great gift to a child to be able to remember their wish trip, but you also provide me with the last time my ds:littleangel: went out of the house on a fun day. I would never have that day if it was not for you gals on this board. And truely from my heart it means the world more to me now than it did on the day we did take them to MAW, because at that time I did not know it was our last time together. What better way to have the memory of his last birthday by spending a day out with him and doing something good for other kids.

I plan on delivering these albums on his birth date in January as well. It is a way I can honor him. Plus it will give me time to get them put together and make some title pages. Anyway I just wanted to share that with everyone. This is really a special swap to me for that reason and just to have so many people join to make it possiable to give 4 albums so those kids who receive them will have this to treasure as well as their parents is such a great feeling. It is only coming into play because of everyone joining this swap. Now we just need that one more person.

I have a general idea of some things so I have bought a little tonight, but I do not think I want to buy for all 60 pages at once, because I may get to much or not able to use it. I got some pp for 3 of the letters, but have not bought everything for just one letter. Its been a little bit for this letter and little for that letter. That is way I need to watch out and need to start laying it out more than in my head. Oh I just found the perfect ribbon for my B-disney Balloons, but I am going to wait. I got some paper for mats for this one. I need to look at the sketch I am going to use with it and see if it all will fit along with the pp I am going to make.

Are character paper piecings from the cricut allowed? I wanted to use that one of Goofy where he looks like he has his hand on his cheek, kind od waiting like, for Lines. Would that be general enough?

You can use your criciut for the paper piecings. I think using Goofy is not specific. I will be using a Mickey pp for my I.
