View Full Version : What about the risk at Comfort Suites/ Atlantis?

Last December, we were on the 4-day Wonder. We made ressies at Comfort Suites to have access to Atlantis. It was great. We are going again in January and would like to do the same thing.

Is there anything we can due to protect against losing our payment if the ship is re-routed? (unusual, but it happens, due to weather and other situations)

Comfort Suites lists a 4-5 day cancellation policy, although our ressis last year showed a 48 hour policy.

Has anyone "walked-in" to Comfort Suites and booked a room for that day?

If it was just my $, I wouldn't mind so much, but I am leading a group of Six other families which would mean kissing $1,500.00 bye-bye.

Thanks for your input and help.

my friend booked us at Atlantis, so I am very lucky. Their policy is cancel by 3 on the day of check in on the docs we received. So, i sent her husband an email calendar reminder for the day we are booked. I told him to call and check, and that if we had not checked in by noon CST, then cancel the room. At least this is how we are working it.

I've found rates of $184 (Sam's Club) and $159 (travelhero.com) for a room at the Comfort Suites on 9/6. Know anything better elsewhere? To those of you that have done this - how do you get from the docks to the hotel? What expenses are involved? ANy other feedback on doing this?? Thanks so much!

I think that I have seen that other folks posted that it cost $4 one way by taxi from the ship to the resort. You are also responsible for the $1 toll on the bridge...

Taxi. It's something like $3/pp each way.

That sounds like it would work well. I wish Comfort Suites had that policy.

Anyone with any other ideas?

Here's another question.
What is the latest you should leave on taxi to get back to ship?
Do the taxi's run all evening?

Thanks, Kathy

Taxis run all night. And you should have no problem finding one if you're willing to walk over to the front door of the Atlantis. As for the timing, you should be able to estimate that based on how long it takes when you head over there from the ship.

the taxi was $4/person plus the bridge toll...

as for comfort suites...
if we go again i'll try to get a room at atlantis instead....
now that i've actually officially gambled in las vegas (and am a member of a players club there) maybe i can get a gamblers discount as was suggested by a post some months ago....

What's the best rate anyone has received at Atlantis?

I found $159 for September on Travel Hero.com, Just calling the hotel directly got a rate of $189. Hubby isn't convinced that that is the thing to do while on Nassau.....

$159 is a great rate if that's all in (that is, are there more than 2 in your party?....if so, how old are they....there is a charge for additional people)...

as to whether it's worth it, this is my view...
it's only worth it if you're very much into swimming pools and water slides....and if your kids are tall enough to pass the height limits for the slides...
if the above isn't true, there is no reason for you to take a room at the atlantis/comfort suites.....

it was worth it for us, and i think we would do it again if we got a good rate.....but we're big water baby type people....very much into swimming and slides....

on the other hand we left atlantis at about 2 in the afternoon having had our fill....we decided to head back to the ship to make it in time for the special screening of lilo and stitch on the big screen...

so if you think about it, we spent about $245 plus $50 for taxis just to use a few slides and pools for about 3 hours....

probably not worth it if you think about it in those terms...

Beware of additional charges to the "room price". I have been to both the comfort suites site and travelhero and don't remember which details are specific to each, but...
adult pricing after age 11 or 15
12% tax
$6.50 per person room fee
plus the taxi there and back
the bridge fee (both ways, I assume)
I'm still trying to decide, for my family, whether to book Comfort Suites.
