We are planning a Cruise during the month of December 2003. I'm kinda questioning a few things.

What is the weather like at the Parks, at Sea, and on the islands?

Is the boat/Islands decorated for Christmas?

Any other info on a Dec. Cruise would be great. We would do the Dec 14-21 Disney Wonder

We cruised on the 7-day Magic on December 6 last year.

The weather can vary wildly in Florida at that time (it was hot when we went). It could also be rather chilly if a cold snap comes through, but it normally doesn't last long. But I guess St. Martin and St. Thomas can be counted on to be warm (but it very well may be rainy, so be prepared). The water was a little chilly at Castaway Cay (at least for us because we live on the suncoast in Florida), but you get used to it.

The Magic was beautifully and tastefully decorated for Christmas, with a huge tree in the atrium. It was cool to stand on deck 5 and watch the tree rock with the ship. Also, they had Christmas music playing in the background there.

We liked that time of year so much that we're taking the Western next year at the same time.

Yule love it! :-)

We did a land and sea in mid-Dec last year. The weather was great. . . . nice and warm at the park during the day with low humidity and small crowds. Polynesian style holiday music played at the hotel (the Poly of course).

The weather in Nassau and Castaway Cay was also perfect, although if memory serves, last winter was warmer than most in general.

The Christmas tree really was beautiful, as described by BuzzRocks. That was our first cruise and it went by very quickly, but I remember a tree-lighting one night which was fun. In general though, everything retained a very tropical feel. We purchased some steel drum band music after we got back to keep us in the mood until Jan '03.

I think Christmas is my favorite time to go on the DCL. It's becoming a tradition in my family. Last year we were on the Wonder December 13th and this year we will be on the Magic 14th of Dec. I can hardly wait to do the 7 night!
I do remember the weather being a little chilly in Castaway Cay, but for a Nebraska girl in the middle of Dec, anything is better than that! The decorations are amazing on the ship, and it really puts you in the mood for the holidays with all the lights and the characters in their holiday gear!
:p
