Hello! First of all, Let me say that we are going nuts! We can't wait to get back. I have been reading TR's and PTR's and going crazy. I can't wait to get back to the place where magic happens and my family has experienced the best vacations ever!!!!
Here is one of my Favorite!!! Pics from our May June Trip in 2009!!!
http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg232/AlohaAnnie_2008/Disney%202009%20Pictures/DSC_0237_431.jpg
It is the opening ceremony at Magic Kingdom! It has become a must do for our family for each trip.
Now for the introductions!
Here is a pic from our 2009 Trip to WDW.
http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg232/AlohaAnnie_2008/Disney%202009%20Pictures/Image600.jpg
We were all hot and sweaty and we do not look our best but we were having fun!!!!
Let me first introduce the youngest member of our family, Allison!!! She is 8 will be 9 in July. She informed me last week that she will officially be a 4th grader on the last day of school! She is currently in 3rd grade. I found this very cute and funny. She is such a character and our spoiled princess. princess:
Next is Aaron. He is 13, and very much a 13 year old! He is in middle school. He is currently in the Middle School Jazz Band and has been invited to participate in our local Youth trumbone Choir for the summer. He plans to join the High School Marching Band. He is such a sweet kid and has so much heart. We adore him. He is also our pirate:, yar! Matey!
Next is my Loving Husband, Shawn. Shawn is also here on the DIS! He is the true lover of Disney!!! He had been wanting to take a vacation to Disney World for years and convinced me in 2006 (our first trip) that we could afford to go. Ever since that first trip in 2006 we have been addicted!!! Shawn recently celebrated his 40th birthday. We had a party here at home and it was half 40th birthday and half a Mickey party!!! I will post a pic of the party later!
Last there is ME!!! My name is Tina, I am a very busy Mom and Daycare Provider! I have to split my spare time between a hundred and one things. I really wish I could DIS and Look at Disney pics all day and night long but alas that is not life!! :sad2: I actually have to be a Wife, Mom, House Keeper, and do my job. So I hop over to the DIS when I can.
Here is one of my Favorite Family Photopass pics from our trip in 2008:
http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg232/AlohaAnnie_2008/Disney%20PhotoPass%202008/image176.jpg
I love that photo!!! We have it framed on our Disney Pic wall!!!
UP Next.... Our Plans for our upcoming Trip and our DVC Story !!!

So Allison recently had her spring musical at school. She was so cute!!! I got a new camera recently. It also takes video. So I took a video of her singing and I thought I would share it. This is my first time attempt at video with this camera, so it is not so good.
Enjoy! Allison is on the bottom row in the pink shirt and skirt with long straight blond hair.

We really never thought we could afford DVC or for that matter qualify for it. We always assumed we would be paying for our vacations staying at value or moderate resorts and maybe just maybe DVC would be in the future.
We had originally booked our vacation for 2 nights at Disney's Vero Beach and 12 days 11 nights at Pop Century. We had it all paid for by the end of December 2009.
February 2010, we received an offer to buy into DVC for Bay Lake Tower. So my mind started to spin and I called Shawn and said, "Do you think that Disney would allow us to cancel our current trip take only the money we paid on rooms and apply it to the down payment for DVC and then we could use our points to go on our trip at the same time." He said, "I do not know but I will call".
So we called and the points for Kidani were cheaper and we also received 2009 points along with 2010 points for double the points. We were able to re-book our vacation at AKV's Kidani Village and still go to Disney's Vero Beach for the same 2 nights. On top of that the money we paid for Dining and Tickets we used to buy Premium Annual Passes (which we plan to use for upcoming trips in October 2010 and May 2011) before they expire (we plan to renew) and we were still able to buy the Dining Plan and we have $200 left over! What about them apples!!!
We know we are going to use DVC every year, because our plan was to return to Disney every year for a vacation. Because of the extra years points we are able to return to Disney at Halloween 2010 and in May for the Flower and Garden Festival 2011.
We plan to cruise in Dec 2011 on the new Disney Dream (paying for cruise not using DVC) and spend Christmas at Disney 2011.
Then, we will return to our normal May/June Trips to Disney each year starting in 2012.
The good thing about DVC, I know I am always going to DISNEY!!! Helps the obsessed be more obsessed!!!
A lot of planning has been going on in this place.
So that is our DVC story!

I wanted to show everyone Allison's Easter Dress. It is so beautiful and she lets me dress her up on occasion. After church, she told me the dress was itchy and she would never wear it again and she picked it out. The same thing happens with all the Disney Princess dresses she picks out and wears.
So at least I got a picture:

Hey! I noticed you've started a PTR--so I came over to read....I'm glad I don't have much catching up to do. :goodvibes
I love that 1st picture you posted of the Opening show at MK. I sooooo hope I get to see that for the 1st time this year!
What an awesome DVC story! We bought ours last year while on vacation, so we're using it for the 1st time this May. You guys have lots of vacations up your sleeves! I can't wait to hear all about them!
Your Allison's dress is beautiful! My DD loves to dress up still in her old Easter/Christmas/Halloween dresses....she wears them until it's impossible to wear them anymore!

It is so nice your DD still wears her dresses. I told Allison we were not buying anymore princess dresses because she will not wear them. She said, OK! So that did not work! She will wear skirts with shirts, at least I still have that. :lovestruc

We decided to have a Family Disney Night! I got to first pick since today is my Birthday! So I chose Toy Story!
Here are the Table Decorations:
http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg232/AlohaAnnie_2008/Disney%20Theme%20Nights%202010/ToyStoryNightTableDecorated5-1-10.jpg
We saved table cloth and decorations, threw away the used plates and cups - thinking ahead for the next Toy Story night.
While we were waiting for the pizza to cook the kids colored Toy Story pictures.

and Alien Green Salads! (not pictured)
We then watched the Movie Toy Story and ate Cheese Crunchies (aka Cheetoes Cheese Puffs)!
Then we played Toy Story Mania on Wii
http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg232/AlohaAnnie_2008/Disney%20Theme%20Nights%202010/th_PlayingToyStoryMania3.jpg (http://s249.photobucket.com/albums/gg232/AlohaAnnie_2008/Disney%20Theme%20Nights%202010/?action=view¤t=PlayingToyStoryMania3.flv)
We had such a wonderful time. It was so much fun planning what theme we were going to do, what to call the food and then going to buy decorations.
Allison helped me to decorate the table Saturday Morning. Aaron had a Soccer game so Allison helped me make the cookies. It was great family time.
We are planning to have 3 more Disney theme nights before we leave on vacation. Then, we plan to have a Disney theme night once per month.

I actually have to work :rolleyes1 lunch and naps before I could post about the Disney Theme Night. :rotfl: I have so much more I could post today but I have to save some for another day plus the little ones will be waking up soon and then I have to pick up Aaron from school. That DIsney night looks so fun! We're going to have to do it sometime--just don't know when. We have baseball right now, and it seems like sometimes we leave the house at 6am and don't get home until 10pm!

I would love to do a Disney themed night but I'm not that creative and my DW works till 8 or 9 pm so she isn't home for dinner. :confused3
Your DVC story has got me wondering about DVC. (thanks alot!) I wonder if it is doable. :scratchin

Maybe after baseball season is over you can have a Disney night. It was really fun and it was nice because we did it as a family. The planning, decorating, and the food.

Thanks! Allison is my princess, she is getting older and I miss the little girl days. She is changing on me. It is so sad for me. Family night was fun!!

That Pizza was good ;) Maybe you can do something special with Juliana and make your own version of a Disney night. It doesn't have to be all creative. :goodvibes And after joining DVC and being scared of it for years before we joined I bet is it doable. Just look into it and when the time is right it will work out.
Crazy Us Story:
Shawn and I have been laughing for days!!! Because we both realized that we spelled Sheriff wrong. It is so funny for us. First, he started it by spelling it wrong on the menu for Toy Story night. Then, I was making the cookies and grabbed his menu because I wasn't sure how to spell and did not feel like looking it up on onelook.com. When I seen it on his menu, I thought that doesn't look right but surely he did spell check on WORD!!! Nope!!! So we have been laughing about for a while. It is just too much, first he said, Sheriff was a word I had a hard time with spelling! :rotfl: Guess you had to be there! :confused3 So we are laughing about that. Then we are laughing more because election day just passed and there were about several hundred signs that said sheriff around our town for the last few months. Guess you have to laugh at yourself on occasion. :rolleyes1
Update next.......

We are driving!!! :car:
We are leaving Indiana on Thursday evening 5/27, with an overnight stay in Tennesse.
We plan to arrive at Disney on Friday afternoon 5/28. We booked a one night stay at Coronado Springs Resort on an Annual Passholders rate. We got a good discount and we have never stayed at this moderate resort before, plus the rate was the same as staying at a downtown disney hotel for one night. Why not stay on property! :yay:
On Saturday 5/29 and Sunday 5/30 we will be at Disney's Vero Beach. Our kids have not been to the ocean despite our 3 previous trips to Disney World. So the plan is to spend sometime at the beach for a few days. Plus I have so many good beach memories as kid when we lived in Oceanside, CA. I want them to have some beach memories too! :beach:
On Sunday 5/31 - Thursday 6/10 - We are checking into AKV Kidani village for 11 day 11 night stay! :woohoo: We chose a studio with a savanna view and not a one bedroom because we wanted to stay for a longer vacation and we wanted to go back to Disney a few times over the next 2 years.
On Friday 6/11 it is check out day and time to drive home. Always a sad day for me but this time I hope I feel better because we have DVC and we will be back for sure.

So with all our wonderful memories of Disney fresh in my mind because we are leaving at the end of this month and I have reviewed pictures from past Disney vacations. I thought it would be nice to post some pics of the resorts we have previously stayed at! Plus, the kiddos are sleeping and I don't feel like cleaning or reading at the moment.
Our first stay was at Port Orleans Riverside in 2006, Here are some pics:
http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg232/AlohaAnnie_2008/Walt%20Disney%20World%20Vacation%202006/IMG_0797.jpg

http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg232/AlohaAnnie_2008/Walt%20Disney%20World%20Vacation%202006/IMG_0804.jpg
We really enjoyed this resort and the main pool here. It reminded me of being at Summer Camp. We also liked the counter service food court here.
Our Second Stay was at Pop Century, My Mother and Niece tagged along in 2008.
http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg232/AlohaAnnie_2008/Disney%202008/IMG_2414.jpg
http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg232/AlohaAnnie_2008/Disney%202008/IMG_2403.jpg
We enjoyed Pop! It was nice and the pool was fun. We did slightly miss the luxury of a Moderate resort compared to a Value Resort. Like the fridge and the curtain the separates the bathroom from the rest of the room. We really enjoyed Everything Pop's Dining. It was busy but very nice and my picky eaters enjoyed their cheese fries and nachos! :)
In 2009 we stayed at 2 Disney Resorts:
#1 was a one night stay at Beach Club:
http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg232/AlohaAnnie_2008/Disney%202009%20Pictures/DSC_0030_226.jpg
http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg232/AlohaAnnie_2008/Disney%202009%20Pictures/DSC_0145_341.jpg
http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg232/AlohaAnnie_2008/Disney%202009%20Pictures/DSC_0150_346.jpg
http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg232/AlohaAnnie_2008/Disney%202009%20Pictures/DSC_0126_322.jpg
We did not go to a park, we just hung out at Storm Along Bay and watched Illuminations from the bridge that night along with exploring the Boardwalk. Our room was a waterview, we ended up at a quiet pool that was right outside our room and we were really close to the International Gateway Entrance by Epcot. It was nice. We were wishing we could have stayed here the entire time. But the budget did not allow that.
We also stayed at Caribbean Beach Resort in a Pirate Standard Room in 2009:
http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg232/AlohaAnnie_2008/Disney%202009%20Pictures/DSC_0201_395.jpg
http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg232/AlohaAnnie_2008/Disney%202009%20Pictures/DSC_0204_398.jpg
http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg232/AlohaAnnie_2008/Disney%202009%20Pictures/DSC_0212_406.jpg
The pirate rooms were themed very well and we enjoyed the room but we were way out in the country. We knew this when we booked it. I really enjoyed how close we were to our van but when it came to swimming or refillable mugs we had to drive to the main house because we did not enjoy the quiet pool that was close to us. Overall, we did enjoy Caribbean Beach Resort and would stay here again. But the room would have to be closer to the main pool and refillable mugs. We also did not like the counter service food court here. It was ok, but the choices were very limited.

Great updates! I love your DVC story and your comment about it helping the obsessed be even more obsessed. Ain't that the truth! It's so great knowing we can keep going back...it makes coming home a little more tolerable.
What a fun movie night! I enjoyed the video too. That is my favorite game on the TSM video game. haha!
One of the things we love so much about DVC is getting to stay at all the different properties. Our goal is to stay at them all and we are well on our way (our home is SSR so we've stayed there, BCV, VWL, and AKL/Kidani)! Something else to look forward to with being Vacation Club members.

I plan on staying at every DVC resort also, I would like to experience each one. We also have plans to stay at a few that are not on the DVC list and use the Annual Passholder discount. Like, the Polynesian, Grand Floridian, and PORFQ. You know those one or two night stays when you arrive in town before you go to the parks :rolleyes1 Actually, that is my excuse. Glad you like the video, Allison is such a character!

Your sheriff/sherriff story is soo funny! I didn't even notice. I must admit I am not the best speller in the world. :rolleyes1

Storm Along Bay was fun and the kids really enjoyed it. The sand is fake sand it is not like beach sand but still fun to play in. You can't make a sand castle out of it :confused3 The pirate room was a lot of fun and we really enjoyed it.

So we invited our Friends over for Disney Cars Night! JP, Amy, and their 7 year old Triplets Carson, Emily, and Megan. We had so much and so did they. They love Disney Too!!!
We had to split between 2 tables since there were so many of us. So I made an Adult Cars Table:
http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg232/AlohaAnnie_2008/Disney%20Theme%20Nights%202010/046.jpg
And a Kids Cars Table:

See my Hidden Mickey and our Leaning Tower of Tires (Chocolate Donuts) which was a huge hit. The kids and adults ate them all!

DVC, it always makes you wonder! ;) So glad to hear great reviews of Vero Beach. We are really looking forward to it. I was thinking that we should have put it at the end of the vacation instead of the beginning. We will see how it turns out. Disney Theme night was really fun. I am currently planning our Lilo & Stitch, Polynesian - Ohana Night! It is coming together and I have already planned a menu.
Beach Club was fun and we really enjoyed it. I would highly recommend staying there and enjoying it!

Dining Reservations and Other Plans
Friday 5/28 – Tony’s Town Square - Dinner - we have never ate here. This will be the end of our travel day and our one night stay at Coronado Springs.
Saturday 5/29 – Whispering Canyon Café for Breakfast - The plan is to check out of Coronado Springs. Head to Wilderness Lodge for Breakfast and then hit the road for our 2 night stay at Disney's Vero Beach, this will be our first off Property DVC stay.
Monday 5/31 – Tutto Italia - This is the beginning of our stay at AKL Kidani and our first Disney World DVC stay. We plan to spend the day at Animal Kingdom and have dinner at Epcot.
Tuesday 6/1 – Crystal Palace for Lunch - We also plan to spend the day at Magic Kingdom. I like lunch more than dinner because you get a break from the heat and afterwards, we will head back for a nap if we are tired and return later that night or head to a different park. We love park hopping!
also on Tuesday 6/1 – Allison has an appointment at BBB in Cinderella's Castle, she has had make overs twice before. She told me she is going to wear a skirt and not a princess dress because they are too scratchy!!! I am getting use to this attitude :sad2: I got her to keep the Belle Dress on long enough for a Photo session last year:

Wednesday 6/2 – Cape May Clambake - We really like this dinner. Last year we were the family of the day, we had a special table cloth, buttons, light house on our table and the kids got free kids drinks with a light up tinkerbell. Shawn was not feeling well this day, this dinner was perfect because there were so many good choices.

I think I got a little carried away there!!!
Saturday 6/5 (Star Wars Weekend - We are heading to Hollywood Studios)!!! We are having lunch at Hollywood & Vine - We ate here last year and it was nice to get out of the Heat of Hollywood Studios and sit down for a meal. The funny thing is I made the ADR so we could get out of the heat not for the characters, I could not remember all the characters names and nobody else could so we asked a family at another table. They knew them all. We did enjoy this lunch.
Sunday 6/6 (Another day at Hollywood Studios and Star Wars Weekend!!!) – On this day we will be eating at Mama Melrose’s for Lunch. Once again, I scheduled a lunch so we could get out of the heat for a while and relax. We have never ate at Mama Melrose. We have a reservations at 3 Italian eateries. We wanted to try them all and compare them, since we have not been to one of them.
Monday 6/7 - We are having Breakfast at Cape May. We have never had breakfast here, this will be new for us. This is also our Mommy/Daughter - Daddy/Son day! Shawn and Aaron are heading to Disney Quest for some game fun. Allison and I are having Tea at the Grand Floridian in the Garden View Tea Room. We did the Perfectly Princess Tea Party in 2008 and it was such a wonderful experience. Since then we have a tradition to have tea together at the Garden View Tea Room. We did this in 2009 and we are going to repeat this for 2010! I am not sure what we will do for the rest of the day. Probably swimming!
Tuesday 6/8 We have dinner at Ohana’s. We love this place!!! It is so much fun and we think the food is good too.

On with an update......Lilo & Stich Polynesian Ohana Night!!!

Hi Everyone!!!
We had Lilo & Stitch Polynesian Ohana Night the past Saturday 5/15/2010.
We did not make a menu and it was not as elaborate as the Toy Story or the Cars night but it was family fun. It was raining!! Blah...could have done w/o that and I am sure Shawn agrees, he cooked on the grill in the rain. It was just sprinkling but had to get our steak on.
Here are a few pics:
http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg232/AlohaAnnie_2008/Disney%20Theme%20Nights%202010/053.jpg Table all decorated!!! We called the night our Lilo & Stitch - Polynesian - Ohana - Tiki Tiki Room night!! Way tooooo many titles.
http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg232/AlohaAnnie_2008/Disney%20Theme%20Nights%202010/054.jpg Steak Kabobs! Yummy! This is why Shawn cooked in the sprinkling rain. We also had salads w/ the Ohana Honey lime dressing, fruit kabobs, chicken strips and I made dipping sauces the soy dipping sauce was good but the peanut sauce was terrible and was a shame compared to Ohana's Peanut sauce.
For Dessert we had Pineapple Angel Food Cake:
http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg232/AlohaAnnie_2008/Disney%20Theme%20Nights%202010/041.jpg
Here is Allison doing the Hula (see the wet deck behind her!!!)

Poor Aaron, I rarely post a pic of him here but he is usually playing video games! and will not participate in my disneyish stuff. Oh well. :confused3
After dinner, we watched the movie Lilo & Stitch! It was great, we had not seen it in a while. Overall, it was a great family time.

We want 2nd floor or up, we have a savannah view. We would like to be as close to main check-in area as possible (close to laundry) we do not have a one bedroom but a studio) and close to pool. So we will see. :cool1:

We had so much fun doing the hat thing, there were times the kids did not want to participate but it was few and far between. In fact, they started to add props and doing funny faces at times. We are definately going to do it again!!!

Van is all packed! The kids are at school for their last day and it is only 9:51am, Rut..ROh!!! I am way too excited. :yay:
Shawn still has to go to the bank and get a car wash before we leave. We also have to pick Aaron up from school at 3pm (he is in middle school) and wait for Allison (she is in grade school) to arrive off the bus around 3:45ish.
Then we are off on holiday to...................
party: Disney World party:
Here a few pics of the packed van:
