Hey everyone
I was just introduced to this part of diboards, and I was hoping you all could help me.
My hubby is signing up for the wdw half marathon in Jan, and the family will be going with him.
I am a self proclaimed disney freak, but this is unfamiliar territory for me. ANy information about the marathon, anything from runners...to their families..to how crowded the parks are would be greatly and extremely appreciated!
Thanks so much!

Parks will be busy before the race but will empty out by Tuesday after the race. You can always read previous reports on my website.
Good luck and safe training!

:welcome:Kellen,
There is a lot of great information in the Welcome sticky at the top of the page (I'd link it but I am techie-challenged). There will also be a lot of chatter as the race gets closer. Disney's marathon weekend is a blast.

Hi Kellen,
We have been at different times of the year and I feel that it is less crowded at that time.2 years ago I thought if it wasn't for the runners and their families it would have been a ghost town.
Most important remember the weather could be just about anything down there in Jan.This past year 32 degrees and sleeting at the start of the 1/2.
Good luck

If you are familiar with Podcasts check out this (http://www.wdwtoday.com/wiki/index.php5?title=Running) site. One of the hosts of WDW Today has done some of the events and they have multiple episodes dedicated to running at Disney. The site has a list of the relevant episodes so you can get some info on touring, preparation, and some race day information for your husband.

A great place that you can get free access to great advice and race reports is www.runningoftheears.com (ROTE). This group is extremely supportive and has great thoughts/advice/support to offer. Between that and the WISH boards, you will get through your first WDW race without a hitch!!

My website ( http://www.DisneyRunning.com ) has reports (FOR FREE) from the last 10 years where some forums only have reports for the last few months :thumbsup2
