Now that the pre-order of the photopass CD is back, I'm trying to decide whether or not to use it on my upcoming trip. It will just be me and DH going. Last time I bought the CD because we had a total of 7 people with us. But now I'm just not sure if it's worth the money for only two people. Plus we are leaving the kids with Grandma and I'm not sure they will appreciate a reminder that we went without them.

For two people not in my opinion. Just got back so it is fresh on my mind.

Only worth it if you make it worth it. I like to take the opportunity to get my picture taken a lot, so I use the PhotoPass a bunch. If you want the two of you in the shots, you'll obviously want to use PhotoPass Photographers. :goodvibes That being said - huge group does totally make it worth it. Going with just me, Dsis, DNc, and DNp - not so much worth it afterall. Is the pre-order special that huge of a difference in price? I'd say if it's not, wait until you get home to decide. :wizard:

I was just in this situation last month. Just DH and myself. I paid for the preorder, we took advantage of every photo op we saw. We came out with 53 pictures:wizard: I am so glad we did it. I knew however that if we didn't get enough pictures that we could get a refund. I hope that helps.

Join a photopass share. They are not allowed on this site any more but there are groups on offer on other sites. Do not know if I can put the web sites on the DIS?

My husband and I we kind of pushed into it by the photographer (which was FINE) we had him/her take two and then we handed her/him our camera and they took one for us :) Worked GREAT! By the time we left we had a whole bunch of pictures on our camera and our card! It didn't cost us any money and they were very fun to look at when we got home!

I say, WHY NOT!?

However, we were there in early October, which was pretty slow. I probably wouldn't wait in line for it, though.

I've done Photopass a few times and not done Photopass.

I will definitely be ordering Photopass from now on. I'm a solo traveler sometimes and it is a godsend! Plus, the magic shots are just great and the borders pretty cool. :goodvibes

It is definitely better to share costs and try to find some if you can, but even alone, it is worth it. One shot tht you want printed out can cost $20 or more!

My husband and I use Photopass all the time...we generally get between 20-30 pictures, the last time, after adding all the borders and cropping and what not, ended up with over 300 pictures.....scrapbookers dream

Like others have said it is only worth it if you make it worth it. When DH and I went in May 2008 we did photopass and stopped at everyone we saw. By the time it was all said and done (adding boarders, ect) we had over 1000 pictures on the CD! We did do a shoot at the GF when they did it for the $25 but even if we did not so that we would have still had 800-900 pictures!! We have bought the photopass twice since that trip!

DH and I always get the photopass and we love it. We make it a point of finding all the photographers we can so we get a ton of pics to choose from. And it is nice to have pics of the two of us together on vacation.

I always use Photopass because I love pictures first of all and I love having all the options. My BF tends to hate me sometimes because we basically stop at most all the photopass people :) But it is def worth it

I preordered the photopass and DH wasn't interested in getting many pictures taken. When I got back I decided to get the refund and just get a couple of the pictures taken by paying for the ones I wanted. They do run specials on the website if you only want a couple of the pictures.

Last year I just got a photo download sent over the net of a couple of the pictures. It's less expensive and they give you a release that you can print them out as well. And if you decide to get them all, you still have the preordered photopass.

I don't think photopass is worth it period. My mom just spent a week at Disney by herself and she utilized photopass so I could see what she was up to while she was down there. I was hoping to order a few pics but omg, the majority of them were horrible. Some of the pics look like the photographer isn't even looking into the lens or are really crooked. Or like they've completely caught her offguard. I think random strangers would have taken better shots with a digital camera if she'd asked them. Personally I'd invest in a good camera and take them myself where possible.

We are going for the first time in September and this is a must for us!

We have so many shots of just one of us from other holidays because we don't want to keep asking people to take photos of the 2 of us together and even when you do you never know how it will come out :confused3

We are really looking forward to getting lots of pictures of the 2 of us together and as we are there for 3 weeks staying on site I think there will be lots of opportunities for pictures - expecially the magic ones! :)

I went with a group of 4 adults last year and we did pre-purchased Photopass. In a week, we came home with about 100 pictures of us and it was totally worth it. Not every picture was great, but the majority were good. Especially the magical pictures.

My mom and I are going later this month (just the two of us) and we've pre-ordered the CD for our trip. It's a special trip and we're going to take full advantage of the Photopass photographers when we see them. It will also be nice not to have to worry about digging out a camera all the time.

how do you get mutiple photopass cards. We are going with 12 people, and I'd like to allow each adult (7 of them) to have a photopass card linked to the same account, so we can order one CD and get pictures of everyone. Can you just photocopy the one that came in the mail and use that?

I'm just curious. How much is the PhotoPass CD? I tried to look it up on the Disney site but there is not a price listed.

We've bought the Photopass on our last two trips - and the last time we went, it was just DH and myself. But there were so many great shots that we decided to get it.

Right now, I believe the pre-order price comes to about $100.

Two years ago, we combined our Photopass cards together on the website. I can't remember exactly how we did it, but it was possible.

This reminds me, I better pre-order that photopass!!!

Yeah. I was thinking of pre-ordering the PhotoPass, but I am sure that Disney will offer the same price later if the alternative is not to get the sale at all. I have read both positive and negative things about Photopass. Some of the positive things no doubt came from Disney's marketing machine, but some of the negative things could very well have been typed by Disney's competitors because to them taking a shot at Disney is just business.

I have preordered photo pass the past 5 years that we've gone. This is the first year that I don't know of any of my friends or family going down near my dates to share the cost, but I do think that I will order it again.

I'm already planning on making the Photopass cd worth it this year. I've told my DH that I'm getting my picture taken as much as possible. Of course he will too, but when it comes to characters that's much more my thing.

Maybe I should look into pre-ordering it, so if a patch of lazy creeps up I can remind myself that I already paid for the cd, so I need to get my butt in line.

I've done the photopass twice so far for just the two of us, and both times I felt it was completely worth it. I LOVE having photo memories from our trips and I love having pictures together. I also love playing with the effects after the fact.

Yes, not all the photographers are great, but many of them do a good job, and they definitely have some spots set up for extraordinary pictures you couldn't get any other way without lugging around a big SLR camera...which many of us don't want to do. I think a certain amount of what I'm paying is for convenience...I don't have to bother with the big camera, I don't mess with the tripod. We bring a small point and shoot camera (and I usually ask the photopass photographer to also take a shot with our camera), and end up with some really lovely, special shots together.

I know I drive my boyfriend crazywith the picture thing...there was one night at the Osborne Lights where there must have been at least 10 photopass spots, and I made him go to every single one...I think he was ready to kill me by the end. But he was quite indulgent with my madness, and some of those pictures are my favorites from the whole trip. The first trip we ended up with about 30 -40 pictures, close to 100 once I played with special borders and effects after we got home. I loved being able to add in the pictures we took and making a photo album. The second trip, I wanted to make sure we really took advantage of photo pass, so I paid closer attention to where he photographers were, and made sure we hit most spots (some a couple of different times of the day!! Yes, I'm a littlecrazy). That trip I came home with around 60 or 70 pictures and ended up with 285 after I played with the special stuff.

So anyway, yes, I think it's worth it just for two people...as long as pictures together are very important to you, and you are willing to pose for enough of them that if one or two are terrible there will still be lots of good ones left.

It is a lot of money though, and you definitely can ask people (other guests or cast members) to take your picture in many of the same (or very close) spots...Personally, I'm not always comfortable with that, although I love to do it for other people. But if you're not shy, that is definitely a way to save the money.

We're going again in December and I'm absolutely planning to do it again. LOVE it.

Sadly, I decided not to pre-order photopass. My trip turned into a partially solo trip and my budget is tight already. I can't justify the money to get it. I will probably still get the pictures taken and maybe order a couple single prints if there is any money left over. Do the photopass photographers take pictures with your own camera if you ask?

My DW and I do this as well. While I have a very good DSLR camera that I take everytime we go; sometimes it hard to find someone to take your photo. When we do the PhotoPass we not only get a photo together with their camera but they take one with mine as well. :thumbsup2

When we get the PhotoPass I try to stop almost everyone their photographers for a photo. In the end we also end up with 100's of files by adding extras.

Yes you can make it worth it!

Yes they do as well any CM you see. :thumbsup2 A cute photo is to find a couple of CM's and have your photo taken with the CM's.
