Bought the ship LOL sounds funny. Its a (I think plastic) type replica of the ship. Also had it signed by the captain. It was $25.
I remember the kids sweat shirts weren't too expensive (don't remember the exact price)

I bought a collectable Christmas ornament of the ship (can't remember the artist's name off hand) for $32.
Some very cute, very well made DCL luggage tags, $4 each.

We bought quite a bit of DCL only stuff.....DS (6) bought slippers that look like the ship. We bought the Capt. Mickey plush and had the Captain sign it too (with a sharpie on the white hat). For our niece who loves Minnie we brought her back a Castaway Minnie beanie, Each of us got a T-shirt from Castaway and one from the ship including one for DS that said "My first Disney Cruise" We bought an ESPN T-shirt that has the DCL on it too for a friend at work, we bought a ton of postcards, a scrapbook for the DW, pens, the toothpick holder (shot glass!) , water bottle which has a moving ship on it, the lanyards for your KTTW card.
Our favorite "ship only purchase" was the map of where the ship went. We had purchased one from another cruise and have fond memories every time we see it. The Disney one we had the Captain sign as well. It was $16.00 and many people who have come over ask us about it.
I'm sure there is more because we must have spent a little time each day in the stores. Say hi to Serena from Canada for us!

This doesn't directly address your question so maybe you've already considered the cost - but the pictures from Shutters get pretty costly after a while! We purchased maybe 1 out of every 4 they took, and it was still a significant chunk 'o dough!
Also, if any in your party are pin traders, pin costs add up fast.
Other than that, we bought the same stuff as the previous posters: Ship replicas, maps, tshirts, post cards... Our tab at the end of the cruise was a mere $989.00 :p

We bought the following items over 3 years on 3 cruises:
- DCL cover for my cell phone. ($12.00)
- We got DD the cruise ship slippers ($14.00 ??)
- Pins (most run from $ 6-10)
- Key chains and DCL Pens for teachers / Daycare providers
- T-shirts from both ships and Castaway Cay $12-18
- Christopher Radko Cruise ship ornament $32.00
- Waterproof DCL KTTW card holders (One of my favorite mementos
and we use them all the time. I got the double and single
size but like the double better)
- For DH: several of the polo shirts and long sleeve chambray shirts
in Treasure Ketch with the understated logo's. ($40-48)
I agree with BeanoC - Shutter's can really sneak up on you with those pictures.

DH bought a DCL golf shirt and I bought a silver necklace with the ship 'floating' on it. This was my favorite thing we purchased. We alsi bought a 2 picture frames for the Shutter pictures- 1 8x10 and on 6x8. DD bought a DCL tshirt that we had signed by the characters- that was her favorite souvenier.

I bought picture frames. The frames were very unique to Disney and the cruise...I believe the frames ran $16.00.

I bought the greatest zipper bag (it holds alot!!) for 16.00, it was great to use for the "extra" stuff your taking back, and what makes it really special it folds up (really quite small)and snaps closed, so you can pack it for the next trip. It is black with the Ship logo on the snap closure.

ChiTownZee -
The cell phone cover/holder I bought is pretty solid and the cell phone pops inside it. You cannot talk on the phone while it is the holder but is easy to open due to a simple velcro closure. The holder is contructed with open space on the sides at the bottom to plug your recharger in. It is constructed of a hard plastic (I'm guessing) covered by bright red material with the DCL Logo on it. A great purchase and I always can easily find my cell phone. I found it in Treasure Ketch next to the luggage and toiletries section on your right as you walk in the door. There is also a little strap at the top so you can carry it or loop it through a belt (although that would look a little weird due to the strap's length). It is also a great conversation starter when folks see it.
I have the $25 ship replica, and also got it signed by the captain. It is my very favorite thing I brought back! It's made from some sort of poly-resin type material, and I *love* how detailed it is. It sits on a side table right next to my computer at home, and every time I look at it, it takes me right back there. I stare at the teensy little porthole where "our" stateroom is, knowing I'll be back in there in February, and it always makes me smile. :)

Funny you should ask. I thought I had gotten the deal of the century during our cruise 2001. I purchased a large $20.00 poster of The Magic,(the one with the *pixie dust *extending over the water to The Castle), had Capt. John sign it and safely made it home. That $20.00 poster cost me close to 300 $$$$$ to matt and frame! What a deal I got. But, I absolutely love it.:)

Somewhat related to the topic...
I just took a look at the Gifts Ahoy selection, and I have to say I'm disappointed, having seen the previous offerings. I hope I can still get the "old stuff" on the ship. :(

I purchased the waterproof lanyard for our KTTW cards, a tank top for my step-daughter (clearanced at $10) and a Castaway Cay t-shirt for my little son ($18 or so), a really neat print of the american flag with Mickey saluting in front of it. The colors are cool and it was a bargain at $15.00 (it has a mat and I believe matted it's probably 10x13 or so in size!). I also purchased a learn to draw Mickey book (for my step-son). Also some VERY yummy truffle chocolates for ME ME ME! A cool key chain with a revolving Mickey head that is filled in with a cool looking american flag- but that broke already :(. I think it was around $5 and I would love another. I honestly think the most money was spent on the dang buckets and water toys at Castaway Cay. A complete waste of money. Next time I will sacrafice the space in my bags and pack a few water toys.
I thought the clothing was expensive- not so much your basic tshirt, but there were some sweatshirts I was eyeing that were up near $70! They had some neat jewelry in Treasure Ketch- some expensive and some that was very affordable (sterling).
I agree with the pictures. We personally did not have many photo opportunities, but I was looking at all the pictures in Shutters and I can easily see how people spend a lot here. They take FABULOUS photos- excellent quality, and it is just not right to leave them there ;).

Ship models (we've got both the Magic & Wonder now!)
Sailor Chip, Dale & Goofy plush
"Fab 5" beanies in a plush model of the ship
Memories photo album
DCL snowglobe
DieCast models of the ship & DCL bus (like Matchbox)
LOTS of t-shirts
Various DCL hats
My favorite is a "Cast only" watch that I got on eBay after we got back from our 1st cruise - I collect Disney watches and what they have now onboard isn't impressive.

We have bought tons of DCL stuff over our 6 cruises but my favorites are the ship replica, the photo albums and the Christmas ornaments.
Here is a link to some of the items we have purchased on board.

Just scroll through the arrows to see the pics. There are also some DCL beach towels that we have purchased as well.
If you look closely at the photo albums you can see the ornaments....I just took them off the tree to show for the picture. These are of the Wonder.

I just had to show DW the picture of the shoes - she didn't think (and neither did I!) that anyone could match her! On our last trip, we had a seperate "Shoetcase"!

That was from my two teen DD's and their two teen friends. They shared a cabin this past August on the Magic and we were amazed at how many shoes the girls had....the room steward actually thought they were holding shoes for other members of our party....he could not believe 4 girls could have so many......what you can't see in the pic is all the shoes lined up across the top of the sofa and they also had some in the closet!!!

The shoes are HYSTERICAL! I tried to be very conservative with shoes- I wore a pair of 'pure comfort' Keds, packed one pair of strappy sandals (worn with casual clothing- but could be worn with dressier things) and packed a pair of velvet mary janes to wear with my semi-formal apparel. I never felt the need for more. I did wish I had brought along another pair of shoes for my daughter though.
I also wanted to purchase that super-sized double beach towel, but couldn't swallow the price. I think I will definitively purchase it next time. I just couldn't bring myself to spending that on a towel, but the thing is the size of a blanket! I know we'd use it plenty and it seemed of good quality.

I haven't been on the ship yet but I had someone get me some items while they were on the ship last January. That nice person purchased for me:
DCL beach towel
Cptn Mickey
little snowglobe with the ship in it.
magnet
I cannot wait to get more items when I get on board in January.

The albums in the photo measure 8x10 and I believe that they also had smaller ones of the same design. They also carried larger scrapbook type albums but they had a different design. They had both designs shown in the pic on the ship in August.
I also would like to know if they have an '03 design as we are also sailing 1/4/03!!!!

I try to limit our purchases to one item per family member but that never seems to work out! But I do try to get something unique to each cruise and DH ALWAYS buys a new watch - he must be starting his own collection!

We also got the Photo Album. I love it. They have them with the year on them. I plan to buy one for each of our trips.
I also bought the Christmas Tree Ornament, a magnet with a picture of the ship, and my husband has a small ship that sits on his desk.

did I read that right? you bought a '03 shirt on the December sailing? that would be good news for me ~ I was worried that they wouldn't have '03 merchandise on our 1/4/03 sailing.
I am surprised that no one has mentioned DCL antenna balls ~ from the price on ebay (14.50) they must be pretty popular!!
edit ~ OMG!! there is someone selling DCL bedspread's for $10 ~ how in the world does someone get a bedspread in their suitcase....lol

Isn't Serena the greatest!! She and my DD became very special friends on our trip. I would put Serena up there with the princesses! I hope she's on the Magic when we go back. I want to give her picture of her and DD from last cruise. Serena made my DD an honorary merchandiser and they exchanged cards and gifts - I'll have to bring something special for her on htis trip - she is the sweetest!!!

It October we purchased the map with the itinerary marked out on it. They had all the ports of call marked. We purchased the frame also. Both were about $38 total. The map was matted and looks really nice in our front hallway.
We also bought Christmas ornaments from the Magic and Wonder that have 2002 on them. They had the same style for both ships. We also were at VWL this year and have an ornament from there in the same style. I didn't realize all our 2002 Disney ornaments were the same style until I was putting them out a few weeks ago.
We bought matching Castaway Cay T-shirts for the family. Lime green of course;) .
