Last summer I was told that if I had to cancel my reservation within 30 days of arrival, the points would go into a holding account and had to be used to book a new reservation with no more than 30 days notice. Then I heard something about the time frame changing to 60 days. Was that for the cancellation notice or just the re-booking. I'm 59 days away and might have to change the reservation. Looks like I might be moving in late April... to Austin, TX. I was okay with the thought of a big move, but now that it might mess up my DVC vacation, I'm getting a little worried. :D

The policy changed. You have to cancel 31 days prior to avoid holding but if you end up with holding points, you now can use them 60 days from arrival. Good luck!!!

I heard the reason they changed it was so that members would have an equal chance vs the general public because unreserved DVC rooms can become available to the public at 60 days (breakage period).
