From Barb (Jilljill): Train, coach or private transfers.

Easiest place to catch the train or coach is Victoria Station, but there are a couple of other connection options in the city. There are many private transfers available but can be outrageous due to the distance, about 2 hours.
Last summer we used the National Express Coach and it was around $60 for the 3 of us one way. Had I booked it sooner it would have been cheaper. Will definately book it at 12 weeks out for this cruise.

I've found some links for transfers:

Fish Extender List PM Celestine to be included
OK, as it is November 1, here is the list of those taking part in the Fish Extender. Unless anyone has serious objections, I suggest it be 1 gift/stateroom. It is about taking part, not "outdoing" others, but i'm sure that caveat is unnecessary with this group. Last date for joining is: Wednesday June 30.

We just got our vouchers for the Porters/Eye/Cruise stuff and now we have to call and get all of the times taken care of. We also got the London Pass purchased.

For 3 full days in London, how much should we get an oyster card for?

Fish Extender List PM Celestine to be included
OK, as it is November 1, here is the list of those taking part in the Fish Extender. Unless anyone has serious objections, I suggest it be 1 gift/stateroom. It is about taking part, not "outdoing" others, but i'm sure that caveat is unnecessary with this group. Last date for joining is: Wednesday June 30.

On the first thread for the EB PC Repo I got my first pirate at the 83,000th post:rolleyes1

I think there were a few other big chatty threads at the same time and together we all overwhelmed the servers:laughing:

Most of my posts are from that group, I think I only had a few hundred when I started posting then and then Captain Crash showed me how to post pictures:rolleyes1

I imagine this thread will heat up as we get closer to the date:woohoo:

Someone a while back posted about the possibility of getting t-shirts for this cruise (Ballyhoo t-shirts).
At the time I was overwhelmed at the cost of everything and indicated that I was probably not going to do it.

Now I am re-thinking it. It would be nice to be able to spot everyone at the port:confused3
Are we going to have some kind of Dis meet at the port?

There is cafe press website that will put the logo on shirts for us and we can all decide whether we want to buy or not, right:confused3

Anyone have a different idea on a way to flag who the Disers are:confused3

I still have my lanyards from the EB PC Repo (black with green print) with ID cards in the front clear pocket. They were wonderful for picking out the Dis people and figuring out who they were.
Anyone interested in this:confused3

I, too, have lanyards from previous Dis cruise groups. Also some magnets, laminated cards, etc.
If something were set up with CafePress I might be interested. :laundy:

Signed Alana up for Drivers Ed today. :scared: She'll be going June 16- July 14, Monday-Thursday from 8:00AM to 10:00AM. The timing worked out perfectly since we leave the night of July 14! I told her that in no way, shape or form does this mean she'll be getting her license right away! Those of you that have had kids take it recently, how much was yours? Ours is 400.00.

Sorry we don't have to pay for her driver's ed class, it's included as a class in the public school system. Alexa has her 'blue card' but it can't be turned in to the State until her 16th b'day, 5/27, or after and then she will be able to get her graduated permit. The graduated permit is very strict restrictions for the first 6 months, some restrictions for the next 6 and then it automatically reverts to a 'normal' license.
I told her this will be good since she can be our designated driver when returning from Epcot and she had to remind us that the licensed driver that has to be with her for the first 6 months has to be sober. :rotfl2: There goes that idea for the first year. :headache:

My DH and I were saying that the t-shirts and lanyards made it possible to recognize people by sight. Also a Diser (Tom) on the main DCL board has his own thread for nametags. We can print up one of his name tags at home in a size that fits in the lanyard pocket with the real name/Dis name on it:confused3
The t-shirts would be nice for the embarktion day.
I think I did find the logo Mike made on the internet site for t-shirts (guess it is cafepress-but have to check).
Were you the one that asked about it before? Didn't mean to discourage the idea before, just wasn't sure then if we wanted it or not.

Wait until she is doing this for her kids someday.

My DS had his in class drivers ed during school hours as part of health class, but the in car driving time is a separate class that we have to pay for.

Count us out for shirts or lanyards, just not into those things, and I don't like to wear anything with my name on it (that goes back to too many years in retail).

I know from experience that Robert is easy to spot in a crowd. :rotfl2: :lmao: :grouphug: :rotfl: Before anyone mentions the obvious, he was wearing a hat at the time but had a lost look as he was talking on the phone. :dance3: :rotfl2:

Not sure about t shirts, might be a go for us - in regards to laynards - I am not a big fan of the thick laynards, I have this little chain laynard I got that has a plastic pocket which I like better then even the cord laynards

Kara at the moment is not showing any interest in practicing her driving - her class was in the 400 - 450 dollar range and still has 2 sessions that she can book with one of their instructors

The sun is shining here for a change but rain forecasted all weekend

Funny, I just used the lanyard we had for the Med on my school keys today. I keep it in my bag and use it occassionally.

First of all, sorry this is delayed. Month end at work is always a killer for me, so I have been off for a few days!

Well, just got caught up on this thread, but I am sure I will be behind again as now we start the Little League season. Today and opening day and we have the biggest little league in Wisconsin with over 1100 players! So there is a big ceremony at 8:30 and then the games begin.

When the kids were smaller at one point the 4 biggest kids were on 4 different teams and we had an infant! :scared1::scared1:

This year will be easier as we have one in the "big leagues" which is the high school kids and one little T-Ball player. (Haven't done T-ball for about 7 years though).

I was trying to think how I could put the stopper in the hole in the cup lid so that I could fill it with water, but my DH was sure she would be fine when we got home so I let it go.
I would have asked the Starbucks people for a cup or something, but they are not the friendliest at this particular one. We just go there because they are close.

Hi All,

Have sad news. My mom passed away in her sleep this morning. It has been a hectic day making the arrangements. She was 92 and had Alzheimer's. She lived with us and we had a live-in aide, but it is still hard. The wake is Mon and the funeral is Tues. My brother is coming in for the week from AZ. Please keep my mom in your prayers that she is in a better place.

My DH just got a new position in the Arlington, VA area. :cool1: Anyone have suggestions on where to live up there...looking to rent to start. We'll worry about buying later after we get our feet wet.

We've lived in a quiet residential neighborhood so long that I just can't imagine moving into the city. Help!

Speaking of Starbucks, do you think we will see any in the ports we are going to? We have a friend that loves the Starbucks mugs with the city names on them and since her surprise 50 birthday party is soon after we get home, maybe we can grab her some.:surfweb:

We went to a Starbuck's in London but I don't remember seeing them in the other ports. That doesn't mean they aren't there, we weren't looking for them.

OK, now have Stockholm out of the way. Maybe by the time we get to each city I'll have things planned out. :sad2:
The amount of planning is overwhelming at times:hug:
I pretty much know what I want to do in each city just have to make sure my family is on board with the plans and then figure out the transport:confused3

We're in Fairfax, west of Arlington, and work in Alexandria. Not very familiar with Arlington, but I can ask around and see if anyone I know has some suggestions.
When we moved to VA from NY because of my DH's job offer, we had to find an apartment in one weekend:eek:
We tried finding something closer to Crystal City where his job was at the time, but couldn't find anything we liked there so chose a place farther out west in Fairfax. The commute is a pain, but the neighborhoods here are nice.

DH just entered the room and he says that alot depends on how much you want to spend. He says inside the beltway will cost significantly more than outside. Maybe Pentagon City Mall area would be a good place to start:confused3 When he worked in Crystal City he knew of several people that lived in that area.

If I find anything more I'll send you a pm.
Good luck:hug:

Why yes I was... If this was June 1 I would be complaining so much, but 90 degrees on May 1 and May 2 is just too hot, especially since the humidity arrived with it.

A cruise sounds like a really good idea right now. When to go....June or July or both?!? :confused3

I think we definitely want to live outside of the beltway. Can't imagine finding a place to live in a weekend, I'm overwhelmed with a month.

We'll have to check out the Springfield area. Drove through old town Alexandria this weekend...what a beautiful city.

We live in Arlington, in the historic Fairlington neighborhood. It has a great bus system running through it and is within walking distance to the Shirlington shops and restaurants. I'm pretty sure there are quite a few places to rent right now. Just look up zip code '22206' on the real estate sites.

Of course, it depends on how much you want to spend, how much space you want, and how short of a commute you're looking for. If you don't mind a commute, you can get a much larger place for less further out. For us, location is Everything!

Fortunately the rain didn't last and neither did the wind, but the humidity is still here. :scared:
We had a viewing to go to tonight and I couldn't figure out if it was hotter outside or inside the funeral home. :headache:

Hope your power wasn't out for too long.

We had baby ducks here last year too, so maybe I am a duck grandma but I'd rather think not.

Trying to persuade my DH to not carry his wallet in his back pocket on this trip. Way too much of a pain if something gets stolen. I'm not saying we won't have small amounts of money in our pockets, or that you have to buy any of the gadgets they are selling out there, but it seems just being aware of your surroundings can help :confused3

DCL changed its onlie system you can know check suite availability!

Take those meds and feel better.

They made that change a couple of weeks ago. It's taken them long enough to do that. I never could see why they made such a big deal out of the suites and being able to book them online. I know they are limited in number, but just having the option of seeing what is out there is a good idea.

It should be noted that they still only let you search for 5 people not the 7 the big suites on the Magic & Wonder have.

So you would have to reserve the suite then call to add additional people!

Hello,
It has been a long time since I have posted anything. We are so excited for the cruise. We are traveling with Hawaiian Mickey and wife. I have a 7 year old daughter who is kind of shy until you get to know her and I was wondering if there are any other 6-8 year old girls who would like to meet a friend. I am hoping to get her into kids club at some point and this would be easier with a friend.

Hi, I'm not a super regular poster either, but I do have 2 daughters that will be with us on the cruise.

The older one is 10 (Kaitlin) and the younger one turned 8 in January (Allison).

Kaitlin has a couple of e-mail pals because of this board - but I'm sure Allison would love to write to someone on the kids page (there is a 7/18/10 kids board as well on here) - - she doesn't have her own e-mail yet.

Allison will be going to the clubs for sure, so if she can help make another girl comfortable I suspect she would like to help.

Feel free to PM if you need to.

Finally! Our excursions reservation window opened today. I'm so disappointed. :sad1:

Castles of N. Zealand - closed
Hadeland Glass Works and Viking Ships - closed
Oslo Walking Tour - closed
Ice Bar & old Town - closed
Berlin Discovery - closed
Berlin Past & Present - closed
Medevial Spirits of Estonia - closed
Palo Buffet and Tea - all closed

Keep checking because people might cancel. For example, we have five people on the Oslo Walking Tour and we might try that on our own after we get more chance to research and make an informed decision. We also thought we might do the DCL walking tour in the morning and our own in the afternoon, we just haven't decided yet.

Hello,
It has been a long time since I have posted anything.

Our daughter is 6 and will be turning 7 on July 30th. She can be very social and is generally not shy at all. This is her first cruise ever. Has your daughter been on a Disney cruise before?

Hey there :wave2:
We are also celebrating our anniversary on the cruise:banana:
Also Sandy too I think:confused: (Did I remember right Sandy:confused3)

Anyway, what I have heard from others is that it helps alot if you get them in there the first night when many others are in the same boat and don't know anyone. After that it can be harder (not impossible though) to find a buddy.

My DD13 (Kelly) is also a social butterfly-she loves to talk and loves to make friends with the crew as well. She is thrilled when they remember her name:laughing:
My DS16 (Andrew) is mostly quiet and very much the gamer. He'll stay in the stack just for the video games:rolleyes:

I emailed concierge about currency and this is their response:

Currency Exchange - Disney Magic

Currency exchange is available at Guest Services. The rate of exchange can fluctuate; therefore, guests should check with Guest Services.

There is no limit to the amount of money that can be exchanged onboard.

The following types of currency can be exchanged to US Dollars for no fee, with the exception of the Transatlantic, Mediterranean and Northern Europe sailings:

During the Transatlantic and Mediterranean sailings, the currencies listed below can be exchanged to Euros.

During the Northern European sailings, the currencies listed below can be exchanged to Euros, Russian Rouble, Swedish Krona, Danish Krone and UK Pounds.

Australia Dollar
Brazil Real
Canada Dollar
Cayman Dollar
Denmark Kroner
England Pound
European Union Euro
Hong Kong Dollar
Japan Yen
Mexico Peso
Norway Kroner
Scotland Pound
Sweden Kroner
Switzerland Franc
United States Dollar

If a guest exchanged US Dollars to Euros, Russian Rouble, Swedish Krona, Danish Krona or UK Pounds on the ship, the guest can exchange these funds back to US Dollars as long as they provide the onboard receipt.

I asked about making payments on our stateroom account using other currencies, and they said it could only be USD. I thought others said they made Euro payments, but to be safe I will not plan on using extra foreign currencies for that.

Based on this, I think I will only bring UK Pounds and Euros, since I can use them when I travel for work in the future. The other currencies, which I may never use again, I will buy on board so I can exchange back what I don't use. I figure I won't need much so the exchange fee won't be huge and I have to pay an exchange fee at the bank anyway. Plus I won't be stuck with unique foreign currencies if (yikes!) we can't make a stop at one of the ports.

Alana will see my Andrew sitting on the chair watching the video games on tv in the Stack. Ask her to check and make sure he is breathing for me:rolleyes: Gonna leave him alone as far as the sea days as we are dragging him around quite a bit in port.

Robert, I saw your post on the planning thread - no problems if y'all decide to go to Rostock for the day. I know it's only a short train ride away and the train station is right there at the port terminal.

I have a social butterfly as well, she'll be 16. She doesn't like the stack, she'd rather stalk to Cruise Staff although so far she doesn't know of anyone that will be on this sailing. But she'll be busy keeping our friends 3 boys from getting lost on the ship, it's their first cruise and they are thrilled to be going away.

Sorry I've been a bit MIA - had another exam yesterday so was studying hard, but all the studying in the world does not help when they miss out a bit of the question then tell you with only 10 mins to go in a 2.5 hour paper:scared1: They also included a couple of questions on obsolete legislation that strangely we hadn't covered. I get the result next Friday, so fingers crossed it isn't a resit.

So now the exam is out the way, I've just got to pack Lauren off on her school camp to Wales (a sort of outward bound thing with surfing, assault courses etc.) and I can then get back to serious planning & getting those all important coach details out to everyone, so if you haven'e sent me your e-mail address (mentioning no names, Robert), please do so as sending word docs as a PM tends to be rather like a chocolate teapot:rotfl:

No the exam is also out the way I'm on a diet - 11 weeks to go, so I've got to get going! It's day 1 and DD has just smashed the last of her Easter eggs and it's very tempting!

Stay away from the ladies in my group then - they have to work some. They are the accounting department for the family company and for some reason people still want paid. I told them at least they get to do it from next to the pool on a ship rather than in the office and that I would be happy to bring them drinks in between doing fun stuff :)

That's really nice of you to offer to bring them drinks, but they have waiters for that so you don't need to interrupt your fun. :drinking1 But you could offer to bring them food to go with their drinks.

Hi folks I have a few questions,

1) I am looking at buying the Oslo, Copenhagen, Tallin and Stockholm cards. Does anyone know which ones will be mailed to me and which must be picked up in person?

2) Any information on the Premier Inn chain of hotels, specifically the one in Dover at the cruise port?

3) For those who have cruised from Dover before, what differences can I expect between the terminal in Port Canaveral?

The only thing I can help you with is the Stockholm Card. Ours were mailed to us. They came to us very quickly. I just looked and we were charged on 5/3 and we received them yesterday.

Celestine
Hope the exam goes well:hug:

Been trying to diet as well-DH bought me some chocolate covered strawberries as a Mother's day gift-which were wonderful-but then added 3 mini-cheesecakes (supposedly individual size) as well...and of course I had to eat them:headache: Took me several days though:littleangel:
Diet officially re-starts on Monday:rolleyes1

At a very stressful spot with work as well. I'm finsihed with a the first part of a special review program (lasted 6 months) on Monday and then get the results from that sometime in the next month:guilty:

I told them at least they get to do it from next to the pool on a ship rather than in the office and that I would be happy to bring them drinks in between doing fun stuff :)
How long will that take them:confused3
A few hours won't be too bad-but too many drinks of the day and who knows what will happen to the paychecks;)

Barb found a very reasonably priced hotel near the airport-(Jury's Inn) that looked good:confused3
She also has cruised out of the port in Dover before (also Scrapycruiser too, right?)
The DCL port in Port Canaveral is much nicer than the Los Angeles port-but never been to the Dover port so don't know for sure. I'm guessing typical cruise port without the extras that DCL has in Port Canaveral:confused3

The June 12th Baltic cruise is much closer to their date so sometimes I lurk over there to see what they are planning:rolleyes1
Pretty sure there are folks on that cruise that are staying in Dover and might have some info for you in that department.

So sorry to hear about your mom. Prayers go out to you and the family.

Yep you got it right Laurie. I'm the one that can't keep track of how many years. :rotfl: DH can tell you right off the bat that it's 33 years not 32 as I posted on the 1st post.:love::cloud9:

Can't believe how chatty you've all been since we left on April 30th for Jamaica. Only gone 5 days and you're well into this new thread :surfweb:

I've got to get back into planning mode for the cruise, but playing catch up at work and home :laundy: I'm trying to decide between 3 different tour operators for St. Petersburg with all basically the same custom itinerary. Anastasia tours holds appeal because of not having to pay up front :rolleyes1 My mom is in unstable health as well so that is kind of driving our decision as to which operator we might go with in St.P.

Hi folks I have a few questions,

3) For those who have cruised from Dover before, what differences can I expect between the terminal in Port Canaveral?
The Dover terminal is very, very small and very generic. The porters were right outside the terminal and we checked our bags before heading inside. There were some chairs set up in the terminal, but they were not in use at the time we arrived which was shortly after noon and boarding had already started. We were able to walk right up and check in, we were then directed to the embarkation photo and then boarded the ship.
This was for a Carnival sailing in 2008.

SO...I've finally gotten to the point where I am looking at how to get from the Heathrow to our hotel. I think our best bet with the kids and the luggage is going to be a taxi. Just wondering what is customary as far as tipping the taxi driver?

As far as London planning, the only other thing I've looked into was seeing Wicked, and all I had to do was take a look and I bought tickets! We got a great deal in comparison to trying to see it on Broadway. I'm pretty sure we'll want to ride the London Eye, but haven't figured out what the rest of us will all want to do together. With only 65 days to go, I better get started!

Haven't made final decision on FE - have some ideas but need to get off the fence and decide

Been looking at what we want to do in London but not in any particular order or on what day - figure with us coming in a few days early we have some flexibilty on our days - plus we can get over the 'jet lag'

Trying to figure out if I want to pick up some adult beverage (s) and carry on or just pay on the ship

Hey Bridget :wave2:

Tipping the taxi driver is usually 10% from what I heard.

Also a bunch of us are on the London Eye at 3:45 pm on the Friday before the cruise (July 16th). There is a package where you book the London Eye, a river cruise and dinner at Porters Restaurant - which several of us are doing and everyone is welcome:goodvibes
It's the LE at 3:45, then the cruise and then walk to Porters (dinner around 6-6:30 or so). Just google and you should find the package deals if you want to join us.

We only have barely 2 days to see London-I imagine we will crash when we get on the ship on Sunday:rolleyes:

I like to try different drinks and don't drink alot anyway-so I just buy on the ship rather than bring on:confused3

I seem to recall somebody (Andrew perhaps) mentioning what dining rotation he was on. I spoke with DCL this evening and they said it was all a matter of preference. Even though we've been on other DCL cruises, I'm not sure we have a favorite rotation. What's everybody else doing :chat: or do you have a favorite rotation preference?

I certainly will be anxious to hear what the other Baltic cruisers say about the weather. It could change the whole idea of what I'm thinking I'll be taking if it turns out to be a lot cooler :scared1: than I'm hoping for.

We have always done first dining, but signed up for second this time around. My rationale was that the days are full and if I wasn't up for a sit down dinner then we could go to the show when we board and then get room service later on.

Ummm, never really mattered to me what rotation we had:confused3 I guess it is a little better to be in the more formal restaurant (Lumierre's) on formal night-especially if you are dressing up, but since that falls on our night in Palo, it doesn't make a difference to us:confused3
Some people prefer Parrot Cay for pirate night, but not even sure if we are having a pirate night on this cruise either:confused3

Plus the weather can be very unpredictable-so packing is tricky making sure you are covered for both hot days and cool days:confused3

I posted this blog on the main boards for someone else, but I just noticed today it gives a great idea of how to dress for the Baltic as well. In the pics-the girl is often wearing a jacket, but sometimes you can see where she has taken off the jacket and sweater and is just wearing a t-shirt. It looks like they had some nice weather for the most part in July 2008, but also some rain as well. Just like this past spring in VA, we had some days that were down right hot and some days where I was putting on the heat in the house and wearing a jacket outside:upsidedow

We have always done first dining, but signed up for second this time around. My rationale was that the days are full and if I wasn't up for a sit down dinner then we could go to the show when we board and then get room service later on.
My mistake, I thought you were talking about dining not rotation of restaurants. Sorry.

Actually an interesting debate...I'm sure there will be times we wished we had late dining, but for the most part we like dinner early. Part of the reason we decided not to cruise with my DMiL as she insisted on a late dining time (among other things as well:rolleyes1)

Planning on a dinner in St Petersburg for the first night:woohoo:
And Germany will be whatever we can grab as we get back from Berlin.

I got it!!! I got it!!! :cool1: Our #1 excursion: Berlin Discovery. Feel like I have won the lottery.
Congrats on getting the excursion you wanted.

Just catching up with you all from the past few days. You have been rather quiet. :rolleyes1:confused: Everybody must be busy with their plans. :surfweb:. We're (read I'm) still trying to decide which company to go with in St. P for excursion:confused3:confused3 DH is not a lot of help. :lmao:

I seem to recall somebody (Andrew perhaps) mentioning what dining rotation he was on. I spoke with DCL this evening and they said it was all a matter of preference. Even though we've been on other DCL cruises, I'm not sure we have a favorite rotation. What's everybody else doing :chat: or do you have a favorite rotation preference?

I certainly will be anxious to hear what the other Baltic cruisers say about the weather. It could change the whole idea of what I'm thinking I'll be taking if it turns out to be a lot cooler :scared1: than I'm hoping for.

Sandy :cheer2::boat::sail:
It's never mattered to me which rotation we get. I've never figured out why people stress over being in a particular restaurant on a particular night.

Layering the is the way to go in the Baltics. 2 years ago we had nice weather, it was in the mid 60's and sunny most of the time so a jacket was needed in the morning into early afternoon.
Don't forget to pack an umbrella and/or a weather proof jacket, especially for StP. July can be very wet for StP.

That's wonderful:thumbsup2
We'll be in Berlin too but not with DCL-maybe we'll see you there:goodvibes

Just like this past spring in VA, we had some days that were down right hot and some days where I was putting on the heat in the house and wearing a jacket outside:upsidedow

http://cpbaltic08.blog.co.uk/

We also cruised in July 2008 and layered with a jacket and t-shirt. StP was wet on day and dry and sunny the other. The day we were docked in Warnemunde, it rained in the morning in port and then the sun came out around 11am, but we heard it rained all day in Berlin.
For the most part we wore jackets in the morning and shed them from getting warm walking around and the sun being out.

DH also likes the zip-off pants so he doesn't have to pack shorts in addition to pants.

Debating on the umbrella:confused3 Just seems easier to bring a rain poncho:confused3

I've been trying to push the zip-off pants to DH, but all he remembers is that we used to get those for my DS when he was little:rolleyes:
They have some nice ones at REI-so if they go on sale I'm getting them for him anyway:rolleyes1 I'm still trying to lose weight so will hopefully buy a smaller size for me come July.

Looks great:thumbsup2
That is not a bad price actually if you take into consideration that it includes transport:confused3

Having a hard time cramming in everything we want to see with many of the buildings opening at 9 am and closing at 5 or 6. Can't get into the Punch Tavern for dinner like I wanted as they have a wedding reception there for Saturday night (sounds like a fun wedding). We are just going to grab lunch somewhere between Westminster Abbey and St Paul's Cathedral. Still looking for a good place for dinner on Saturday night:confused3

Right now for Fri-we have Trafalgar Square-then to LE/cruise/Porters.
For Sat.- start at Westminster Abbey, then Churchill's war rooms, then St Paul's Cathedral, then Globe theater, then Tower of London till they close. DH wants to try squeezing in the Tower Bridge exhibit as well, but I don't see us having time:confused3

We may swing by Buckinham Palace as well, but a changing of the guard will have to wait for next time.

Gotta get our oyster cards soon.

Otherwise most of London is planned for us.

We're staying at the Park Plaza Riverbank. Gatwick Express to Victoria Station. Taxi to the hotel. The other 2 are probably going to take the Heathrow Express to Paddington, and ?somehow? :confused3 get to the hotel.

Two of our party are doing a Grayline-Golden Tours tour of London (first-timers). I'm doing the British Museum and maybe try to catch Harrod's and/or Baker Street on my own.

The more adventurous one (me) is doing a twilight tour of Stonehenge (also with Golden Tours).

Now that I think about it, I don't think we're planning on eating at all! :scratchin
Although, I would like to try a. . . :drinking1 . . . pub!

We are arriving Wednesday evening I would have booked the Premium tour for Thursday morning but the bus would pick us up at 7:30 AM at the hotel converted to US time about 2:30 in the morning:headache:

Then I will book some sort of tour group or private for Friday

Saturday we are going to Portabello road in the Am I have sent away for my free guide, & we can shop Harrods in the evening!:dance3:popcorn:: The DW will be happy I think :confused3

Thanks, I had no idea Harrods was open late each evening. I'm used to them only being open late on Thursday evenings. I'm sure DH will just love that. :headache: :rotfl2:

Robert...you can sign up DW to receive their catalogs in the mail. You are very welcome for the tip. :headache: :rolleyes1

We arrive Friday morning and have no plans but Harrods and DH wants to go to Portobello Road Sat. to the markets. I guess we'll figure something out when we get there.

I picked up my currency yesterday. I'm going to go back and order some more for Copenhagen to pay for our Tivoli tickets, about $126 for 7 people 12 & up and 1 child. My friend wants to go there so we'll hit that when they open at 11:00 and stay for a couple of hours or so.
I was really happy with the rates for the currency. Denmark was about 25% less than what we had 2 years ago.
