Hello DISers!!! Welcome to my PTR. I have played around on other sections of the site and started reading another trip review and decided that this would be the perfect way to spend time until my trip in Sept 2010!

I will probably break down everything that has happened so far to keep everybody from wanting to pull out their hair! After all....we don't want sunburned heads when we go to Disney now do we!! :rotfl:

Up next.....the characters and explanation of the title!

So grab a cup of coffee, tea, soda, or anything else you want, sit back, relax, and get ready for some Southern hospitality! Welcome.....and ya'll come back soon!

First off lets figure out who everybody is.....for now! My name is Leeanne and I am a first time pre-trip reviewer, who loves Disney, and traveling. I first went to Disney 20 years ago, when I was 7 years old for one day to the Magic Kindgom and I never forgot it! Then 3 years ago, a family friend called me up and said "Hey how would you like to go to Disney?". Well, I am ashamed to say that I laughed at her and said "Sure! When?" Then she started talking details and I realized that she was serious! So of course, I went and had an fantastic time….it is at this point that I told myself I would go back and would bring somebody with me! Fast forward to last year when my DBf, Brian and I started talking about taking our first vacation together. He had never been to Disney and had always wanted to go. So we start looking into it, got the buy 5, get 3 free deal and decided “sure, lets go!”

This is the two of us last year
http://photopost.wdwinfo.com/data/500/medium/Image0087.jpg

Don’t we look so cute….yeah it was the first day about 5 minutes after rope drop! :lmao: But we were so excited to be there! However (cue music) it was not all perfect. We used a really bad travel agent, who threatened to cancel our vacation so I was so stressed out that when we got there we would not have a room, ADRs, nothing! So, when I finally got there and had a room and called to reconfirm (for the 50th time that week!) all our ADRs, I figured we were set.

Meanwhile, poor Brian ended up with planter warts on the bottom of his feet.....have you tried walking all over Disney with those? :scared1: I felt so bad for him. He wanted this so bad and wanted to make it so good for me, so he suffered through it. (Trust me, you need this back story for our current trip!) We were celebrating his birthday there and had saved Wishes for his birthday. So we are in Magic Kingdom right before Wishes, just playing around and suddenly he decides he wants pictures in front of the castle. Well my so romantic DBf decided that he was going to give me a promise ring, in front of the castle, right before Wishes . Plus he told the Photopass Photographer what he was doing, so I got a ton of pictures.

http://photopost.wdwinfo.com/data/500/medium/Image1146.jpg
http://photopost.wdwinfo.com/data/500/medium/Image1159.jpg

And what does the ring look like you ask?

http://photopost.wdwinfo.com/data/500/mickey.jpg

Why what else would it be but a Mickey ring!! Now before you ask, he didn't get it in the parks but had purchased it prior to our trip and brought it with him and apparently the only place you can now get it at is on ebay. But I love mine so I think its worth it!

So naturally we have to go again this year because:
A) I have to have a trip where I don't freak out over a travel agent canceling everything, and
B) Where he doesn't have to limp around the parks and be in pain every step.

Henceforth the title
LETS TRY THIS AGAIN!!!!

What a sweet story! :lovestruc And what a romantic DBF you have! Your ring is just gorgeous  Mine and Miguel's first vacation together was at Disney too! It's sort of become "our place", since it holds such great memories for us - its kind of hard to imagine vacationing somewhere else now.

I sure hope this trip goes a little more smoothly than your first! Yikes, what a terrible-sounding TA  Why was she threatening to cancel your reservation?

I know....he is great and such a romantic person! Disney just holds a special place for me now, I am constantly telling people they need to go! :woohoo:
My trip is already much smoother....we had a horrible time getting in touch with her and getting information. We ended up trying to switch to another travel agent and she told us that the company policy was to cancel everything they had booked....and she had rebooked what I had booked! And that would also include all the ADRs we had worked to get. So of course I was worried that she would retaliate against us because we had called her on her unprofessionalism and behavior, as well as called her supervisor. We both work in a customer service type job (him in a retail store and I with people with disabilities trying to help them gain employment) and we both know we couldn't have gotten away with the way that we were treated as well as the case management.

Up next.....a small question could change everything!

you and your BF make a adorable couple:) that is such a sweet story on how he gave you the promise ring in front of the castle! That is also sweet hoe he told the photpass guy:) its awesome that you have pictures of your wonderful memory! Oh and by the way-- i LOVE the ring:)

Stories like yours are what makes me very leery of using a TA. Sometimes I think it would be nice to have someone else take care of everything (especially waking up early to make those ADRs!) but I would be so afraid of something going wrong! :scared1:

Thank you! I think we are adorable as well. I love how he got the PP guy to take picture for me, he knows how I am about my camera! The running joke is that it is usually not too far away from me. And I agree....I love the ring as well!

Every TA is different. I just happened to get a dud for one but that doesn't meant that you would. It was my first trip that I planned entirely by myself and really wanted a TA to make sure it happened okay and that I didn't forget anything (this was pre-disboards days). If I use one again I will use a local one. Its a lot easier for me to go to the office and say "helloooo!! Remember me?". I live in West Tennessee and she was in Pittsburg, PA. Too far away for me to go knock on the door!!!

Okay so now we know we want to go, but we don’t want to just go by ourselves……so we decided that we need to take some family with us! :scared1: So we decided to ask my mom and sister to come with us!! My DSis now lives in St. Augustine, FL so she is right at 2 hours away and my DM is in Tennessee as well…..I love spending time with her and she would love to go back to Disney. DSis went 6 years ago on for a day trip, but DM has never been back since I was 7 (20 years ago!). The problem is that my DM had decided to run for an elected office and if she gets the nomination then there is no way she could go…….hmmmmm which way to hope for? Do we hope she gets the nomination & gets to run for office or do we hope she doesn’t get the nomination & gets to go? :rolleyes1 Hard choice, right?

So Brian and I have decided that we are going to stay for 10 days again this year. We really felt that we got to cover all 4 parks, and both water parks last time….however we didn’t get to do everything (see the previous post about foot). Also, we decided that we don’t want to do the water parks this time. We flipped out of a tube last year and bummed up my shoulder, so we decided this year that we wanted to stay out of Convenient Care! (However, if you have to use it CentraCare was great!!!) Problem is my DSis has just started a new job and really can’t get that much time off work….uh oh, this family thing doesn’t look like it is going to come together….as of right now we are 2 going, 1 not going, and 1 not sure if she is going. This isn’t working out right!!!! :sad2: What do we do about ADRs? And rooms? And flights? But we decided to solider on!!! Cause we at least are going back to WDW!!!!

Oh I hate when things are up in the air like that! If your mom gets nominated, could she maybe just do a couple of days? Maybe a weekend? And if you sister is only 2 hours away could she just do the weekend too? That way you could still have some family time and then the rest of the time you and Brian could have a nice, romantic vacation just the two of you

As for ADR's, I would go ahead and make them for 4 people. I'm not sure what the "proper" way to handle that would be, but I assume you could drop 1 or 2 people from the ressie easier than you could add 1 or 2, be it before hand or at the restaurant. :confused3

For the hotel room, would you all be staying in one room or would you need separate ones? If its just one room, I would think you could just add on 1 or 2 people if need be - I think you just can't have any more than 5 right? Or if you need more than one room, go ahead and book it and cancel if you need to - I'm pretty sure there's no penalty for canceling as long as you do it well enough in advance.

 Not sure you wanted all of that advice or not!

Okay so now we know we are going back to WDW! We also know that we are going to go for 10 days. So we start working out prices and just by chance I go back to the Give a Day site. We had previously checked and there was nothing within 50 miles of where we live. So, this time we look…..and the local library in town has signed up! So we look at the requirements and immediately see the problem…….our hours of available. They want people from 9 to 5, and we both work those hours. Well you don’t keep a determined Disney addict down!!! I am like a pit bull on crack! I called up the person over volunteers, explained our situation and got approval!!!! So this means our 10 day trip, just turned into 11 days!!!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: Eleven whole days in the most magical place on earth!! I am so there!

We ended up helping in the library “save” bounded magazines. Our library just got bought out by a new company and this company wanted them to get rid of all the ‘old’ items, including beautiful bound magazines. We were able to work for 4+ hours going though all the bound magazines and putting them on shelves. We are avid readers and the librarian let us flip though some of the books and I had forgotten just how beautiful magazines from the 20s and 30s were. I got some what depressed thinking about how all the magazines were going to be sold, simply because they were old. However, the librarian thanked us over and over again for helping him save some of the magazines that had ‘historical significance’. Plus we got the free Disney ticket!

So we know how many days we are going, the next question is where are we going to stay? Last year we stayed at All Star Movie and loved it! However, we are always up to trying something new. So this year we decided to try out Pop. We are going to fly this year, as opposed to driving (14 hours in the car with me was not fun, on the way home by Atlanta, GA I was trying to get Brian to sing “Row, Row, Row your boat” in rounds. Yeah, he wouldn’t). And Pop just flat looks fun! We are both big kids at heart and love All Star Movies but we decided this whole trip we would try everything new and different. Different hotel, ADRs, everything!

Up next which ADRs will we chose? Will we ever get an answer about who all is going with us? And how about a promotion? Will Disney ever put out a fall promo?

11 days?! That's so exciting! :yay: And Pop sounds like a fun hotel. I've never been to any of the values but if I do go at some point that's definitely the one I would choose! :thumbsup2

As for your mom coming for just the weekend - could she fly out late Friday and then fly back home super late Sunday (so you could have the full Sunday in the parks) or even super early Monday? Just a thought. :goodvibes

We stayed at ASMo last year and it was great. But this is a "try something new year" so no All Stars.

Guess we will have to see what would happen with mom!

This year is all about new……new hotel, new ADRs, new start! Last year, we loved the restaurants we visited (I didn’t know about review, and trip reports otherwise I probably would have done one!). So last year we ate at: Biergarten, 1900 Park Fare, Le Cellier, Sci-Fi Dine, Chef Mickey, Coral Reef, Ragland Road Irish Pub, Crystal Palace, Hollywood & Vine all for dinner. We also had ADRs for Cinderella’s Royal Table for breakfast (earlier I made the comment about how Brian was romantic and sweet….he called for days to try to get breakfast in the castle for me. Yeah I got the best!). So all these restaurants are out! The only exception was Chef Mickey. That is just a wonderful way to get to see the Fab 5! Well everybody raves about Le Cellier and we adored it! It was very hard for us (okay me!) to not try to get ADRs here again.

We know that we wanted to do the Fantasmic Dinner Package as that was one we love. We liked that we didn’t have to worry about getting to the stadium early and that we had seating. However, we still don’t know about my mom and if she is going to get the nomination. The way I figured it, it would probably be easier for me to go ahead and get ADRs for 3 and then change it to 2 later on! So our list this year was narrowed down to:

Chef Mickey – our one redo

Tusker House – a friend of ours had went in Feb and loved this one and I liked the thought of eating dinner in AK then having EMHs

Ohana – everybody raves about this place and we thought what the heck, why not!

Mama Melrose – I am Italian and love trying different Italian food. Plus this is part of the Fantasmic Dining Plan

Whispering Cannon Café –He picked this one and I thought sure….lets just go with it!

Cape May Café – He picked this one as well. We both love seafood plus SOUTHERNtinkerBELLE said that we had to try it (lol sorry couldn’t resist!)

Garden Grill – I love the thoughts of eating really fresh food that was grown on property. My way of thinking is that this has to taste better, right? Plus, where else do you get to see Mickey dressed like a farmer! We both grew up on a farm so I thought this would be very cute!

Boma – I always want to try new food but I am always worried that he or I one won’t like what we order. The way I figure it, we can try all different things and worse case scenario we can always eat chicken nuggets and mac & cheese! :lmao:

Askershus – I love the princesses and Brian loves to make me happy so he agreed to try Askershus. Plus I think this is the only place you can see Arial in her ball gown. And every good princess must finish her collection! :rotfl:

This last one he picked because we are still hoping that my mum will be able to come. Plus we figured that Disney does great shows. From what we understand Hoop Dee Doo Revue is the longest running dinner show on property and is fun! It is 2 TS credits with the dining plan but we are staying an extra day! And as he put it “but baby, it’s the longest running show at Disney! It has to be good!” Hard to argue with that logic! :rolleyes1

So restaurants are choosen and at the crack of dawn (ok before dawn) I get up to try to get these ADRs. Mind you I have no idea how to do this new online system and only know how to call in. But, calling in puts me an entire hour (thats 60 whole minutes!) behind! EEK! We can't have that. So I solider on...and totally screw it up! But I figure it out pretty quick and am able to get what I want! :woohoo: :yay: So we now have ADRs for 3. We know DSis isn't going to be able to go and if mom is able to go then we have her spot with us....if not we have to :scared: try to rebook!! (And hope that we get a really nice CM who can change it from 3 to 2 without screwing it up! :wizard:)

Thanks! I hope they are great. I am trying to get my PTR updated so I am squeezing in the last 2 months into about a week! :rotfl: So I will be putting if I got FD in in about 4 days....so the question remains..did I? Or do I need to wait until GP offer out? Will we have to change resorts? Will we ever find out who gets to go with us? And why is planning this disney trip going to put me in the nuthouse! (Of course my job puts me halfway there anyway so its not like its a stretch!)

Leeanne

Well it is 4:00 AM CST and I am up as the weather is really bad. So I am watching news, and listening to the tornado siren go off. This is the second storm that has come through this area in a week. Last week it hit my dad's farm and took down fences and massive trees as well as got one of his cows. Just makes a girl nervous! So of course, I am up (tornado sirens and dogs do not go together!) and decided what better thing to do but update my PTR of course! Better than sitting up and doing nothing….besides it gets everything caught up quicker! So without further ado, we are proud to present….your PTR!

************************************************** **************************************************

And what to my wondering eyes should appear.....but a miniature sleigh and 8 tiny....hold up that’s not right!

Okay so it wasn’t Santa but it was a present! A present of a PIN to be exact! We were booked at rack rack because we have no PIN and there is no fall promotion out at this time. We know we are going to we are okay with waiting to a promotion (please be FD, please be FD). But hey an email with 30% off is 30% less than what we have to pay! I am good with that! So I call and have this applied to our reservation. I also find out that both Brian and I have a PIN for FQSD! :cool1: The one downer is that it is for travel only until August 15…which won’t work for our dates. But what a magical start!

So, we now have ADRs for 3 (in case of mom gets to come. Yah! :thumbsup2). We have POP with a Pin so we aren’t paying rack rate. Still hoping for FD but we are going anyway! Now it is just a matter of waiting on a different discount (if available) and slowly counting the days….that are dragging….and taking forever to pass.….and poor Brian is having to listen to my Disney addicted self. Why is it that when you dread something, the days fly by, but when you want something, it creeps along like molasses running up hill in the winter?!

Meanwhile, I am at church talking with one of my best friends about our vacation and she is says that she wishes she could go to Disney. Her parents, her, and her little boy are planning on going to Gatlinburg and going to Dollywood. Then she tells me what it is going to cost them. :scared1: It was horrible! For just a one day there it was around $200 ea, if I remember right! Now I have never been but apparently you have to pay to park, pay to get in, and something else that I don’t remember. Plus this would just be a couple of days. Well, being the good Disney addict I am, I look at her and say “Do you realize it would be just as cheap for you to go to Disney, as Dollywood?” So I pulled out some numbers showed them to her. She gets her dad and he is ready to go. His response “Sure, when are we leaving?” Her mom, took a little bit more convincing. I told them that I would run some numbers for them and that way they would know exactly how much it would be. :yay:

So I run numbers and they couldn’t believe it. They always thought it would be more expensive then that! That has to be the response I get the most….”We would love to go, but it is so expensive!” I usually responded “A family with 3 adults and a child can go for less than $600/ea. That includes tickets, hotel, and food, for 7 days and 6 nights.” Then they look at me like I am an idiot and haven’t been before. :headache:

But I get them the numbers, they say “book it” and before you can say “Mickey!” I am on the phone with WDW Dining getting them the same dinner reservations we have! They are only going for 7 days, so their dinner restaurants are : WCC, Ohana, Chef Mickey, Hollywood & Vine (F!), Cape May Café, and Crystal Palace (lunch). We were able to get the same time or within 5 minutes of each other. :woohoo: My bestie and her family are going with us to Disney!!!!

If only we could get my mother, then the party would be complete!

Breakfast is great too! :thumbsup2

Ohana – everybody raves about this place and we thought what the heck, why not! Oh my gosh...the best restaurant. Go hungry because you get so much food!

Mama Melrose – I am Italian and love trying different Italian food. Plus this is part of the Fantasmic Dining Plan I'm interested to hear what you think about this one. I think when ever we get back to the world I'd like to book the F! dining package but I'm kind of torn between MM and H&V (don't want to use 2 credits on HBD). You mentioned you did H&V before, right? What did you think?

But, calling in puts me an entire hour (thats 60 whole minutes!) behind! EEK! We can't have that. So I solider on...and totally screw it up! But I figure it out pretty quick and am able to get what I want! :woohoo: :yay: So we now have ADRs for 3. We know DSis isn't going to be able to go and if mom is able to go then we have her spot with us....if not we have to :scared: try to rebook!! (And hope that we get a really nice CM who can change it from 3 to 2 without screwing it up! :wizard:)

How exciting that your friend is coming along! It's hard to believe Dollywood is more expensive than Disney. I went there once a long time ago and my only memory was getting stuck at the top of the farris wheel with my mother, who was pulling her hair out she was so freaked out! :scared1:

I just found your PTR. Subbing!

I love the pictures that you have posted so far. You too looked so cute in the castle shots!

Love your ring too! DH gave me that ring for our 8th wedding anniversary. He gave it to me right before we left for Disney. I just love it. It's awesome, isn't it? They started to sell them on QVC now as well. I know that they are very hard to find.

I love the idea of your trip being all about firsts! I try and do that as well when I plan. We will be there in September too for 11 days for our 10th wedding anniversary.

Chef Mickey – our one redo Chef Mickey's is an awesome buffet! We love it there.

Tusker House – a friend of ours had went in Feb and loved this one and I liked the thought of eating dinner in AK then having EMHs We enjoy Tusker as well. We try and get 8 a.m. ADR's to see the park empty. It is so quiet there in the morning and it is just beautiful. Food is good there as well.

Ohana – everybody raves about this place and we thought what the heck, why not! We are trying it for the first time in September. I can't wait. I have read great reviews.

Mama Melrose – I am Italian and love trying different Italian food. Plus this is part of the Fantasmic Dining Plan We're also going here with the Fantasmic Dining package. We have eaten here twice before during the Backstage Magic Tour. The food was very good that they served us. We did not get to select from the menu but everything we had was great.

Whispering Cannon Café –He picked this one and I thought sure….lets just go with it!
Yay, another one that we are trying for the first time. We are staying at WL and have a ressie here before MNSSHP. Figured it would be convenient

Cape May Café – He picked this one as well. We both love seafood plus SOUTHERNtinkerBELLE said that we had to try it (lol sorry couldn’t resist!) I hear that the seafood buffet is great. We have only been here for breakfast but a friend at work raves about the dinner buffet.

Garden Grill – I love the thoughts of eating really fresh food that was grown on property. My way of thinking is that this has to taste better, right? Plus, where else do you get to see Mickey dressed like a farmer! We both grew up on a farm so I thought this would be very cute! We went to Mickey's Ice Cream Social there once. I don't know if they still have that or not. I am curious as to how the food is.

Boma – I always want to try new food but I am always worried that he or I one won’t like what we order. The way I figure it, we can try all different things and worse case scenario we can always eat chicken nuggets and mac & cheese! :lmao: Boma is AWESOME!!! DH and I had dinner there twice in 2008 and we had breakfast there in 2009. Boy, I wish the zebra domes were on the breakfast menu too. I could eat those non-stop!

Askershus – I love the princesses and Brian loves to make me happy so he agreed to try Askershus. Plus I think this is the only place you can see Arial in her ball gown. And every good princess must finish her collection! :rotfl: We had breakfast here last September. The princess interaction was really great. My fav is Belle and she looked beautiful. DH has a thing for Ariel so he wasn't complaining. :rolleyes1

:rolleyes1 HDDMR is a lot of fun. We have not been in years but we loved it when we went.

So restaurants are choosen and at the crack of dawn (ok before dawn) I get up to try to get these ADRs. Mind you I have no idea how to do this new online system and only know how to call in. Thanks for your comments...I am so hoping that it is going to be great! And I am so excited that my best friend is coming....she is more excited than I! And as she put it, she would only be able to go to the mountains for 3 or 4 days and with Disney they are going for 7 days at Disney with a total of 9 days including travel.

I just found your PTR. Subbing!

Welcome! Pull up a comfy chair and have a glass of sweet tea! I think we are cute too! But I am totally biased! I love my ring and wear it all the time. One of the girls at work said that she was going to take my ring because she loves Mickey. I told her that she would have to take it off my dead body! :rotfl: This is our second trip and we decided that since we haven't experienced a sixteenth of what Disney has to offer, we wanted to try all new! Thanks for your comments I am hoping that we do enjoy them.

They are all dinners. We like to hit the parks in the morning and go until afternoon then take a break in the hotel and then be ready for dinner and night in the parks! Keep hanging out with me and after my trip you can see how we enjoyed out trip and how our ADRs are!

Thanks for reading!

Today is the day….the big one…the whole enchilada! Everything could be changed today. This is the most important day of all time! Okay, maybe not all time but at least in the basis of this trip. Today, is the day that we find out if my mum gets the nomination for county mayor! :scared: Yah! Brian and I decided to take the day off work and drive in and surprise mom and take her to lunch. We also are going to be able to be there for the actually nomination. I feel like everything is riding on this! :scared1:

If mom gets the nomination, then there is no way she can go with us, even for a weekend. :sad1: The current person in office is never there and mom is running on the platform that she is going to be a full time mayor. So if she gets this nomination then she will be running on the party nomination and then it will come up in August for a vote and it will be too late to add her to our room. We can’t get two rooms without knowing this because they would have to be paid for two weeks prior to the vote.

On the other hand, if she doesn’t get the nomination then it is an automatic that she is going! :woohoo: A lot of disappointment but then we know that it is Gods will for her. And I finally get to take my mum back to Disney. She last went 20 years ago and got to go for one day in the Magic Kingdom. I have gone on two different trips for 10 days and my sister went on a couple day trip several years ago. She would love to go even just for one day for each park! Even my BFF told her “I am of two minds. I really hope you don’t get to go with us, but I hope you can!” :lmao:

We surprise her to take her to lunch and when we walked in where she is working doing taxes, she looked at us and said “Why are you not at work?” Doesn’t make a comment that we are there 5 minutes before lunch time, nor what the day is, just ‘why are you not at work?” Can you tell what type of people we are? :rolleyes1:confused3 Anyway, so we tell her that we are there to take her to lunch and that we are going to hang around after work. It takes her about 5 minutes before she realizes that we are going to be there for the nomination vote! When she realizes this, she was so stunned and I really thought she was going to cry.

So we go to lunch, and make it through the day. Brian and I talk back and forth all day about her going or her not going and what we could do to make it extra special or what to bring her back if she didn’t get to go. So we get to the meeting and the way they vote is very odd. Everybody on the election committee votes for someone, they count the votes, and whoever has the least amount of votes is out. Then they vote again. There are 6 nominees! We have to sit though each of the voting, and the counting, and the announcing of who has the least votes. So the first round, and the person with the lowest votes is announced. Then the second round, and the lowest vote announced. Now there is only 4 left. The third round comes, and they count and the announce. Its mom! We all look at each other in shock! It was rather sad, however this means mom is going to Disney! :dance3: It took several days for mom to be able to talk about it and then she got excited. Her thought was that at least she didn’t run all summer and loose it in August and not be able to go at all in September. So we get her maps ordered and a DVD. I had put together a book that had restaurant menus and park information. She is actually starting to get excited about going. I asked her if she wanted to change anything or if there was something that she wanted to do. Her response……”nope, it sounds good”. So basically she is going to do what I tell her to do! She thinks the restaurants sound good, she is good with how we have our park days planned, and honestly is willing to just go with the flow and do what we want.

So even though she had a big disappointment, the thoughts of going to Disney is starting to get her more excited! :woohoo: So now we have to add more celebrations! Previous celebrations are:
Brian and I – 2nd anniversity
BFF and family – First visit for all 4
BFF – birthday
BFF mom – birthday
BFF DS – Kindergarten Graduation
My DM – First visit (1 day, 20 years ago doesn’t count to me!)
My DM – Retirement

Wow, just seeing all those listed really amazes me. We are bound to have a great time together with all those celebrations. I have a feeling if we were going to 1900 Park Fare like we were last time, we would probably get the same response from Lady Tremaine that we got last time….”did you steal every pin they had at the front desk?” :rotfl:

I can already tell this is now shaping up to be a smashing good trip!!!!

I am sorry...I missed this before. We did H&V last year and enjoyed it. It was good and we enjoyed. We had a great server and they gave us a plated dessert with strawberries that said 'celebrate today' in some sort of chocolate. We would go back and do again in a heartbeat! But we are super excited to try MM this year. MM comes with an apps, entree, and dessert so I am thinking it will be too much food but are hoping to do some of the apps for 2 so we can share. I plan on giving a review of the restaurants when we get back. So I will let you know what I thought of it!

So we are now ticking down and we are looking for flights. I would love for flights below $250 RT of course, cheaper than that would be fine! So I have Brian download the Ding! Software for Southwest. General, we are able to get cheaper flights using Southwest than any other carrier. Well they have flights for $111/trip! But of course, I keep thinking it will go down! So we come in from work one day and Brian tells me “Hey did you know that SW has a Ding! for Nashville to Jacksonville?” Well my response is that we aren’t looking for SW flights from Nashville to Jacksonville, we are looking for flights to Orlando. Said much nicer than that sounds! I think it had at least the word ‘baby’ in it! :rotfl2: Well we look and they have flights to JAX for $78/ea one way! That’s amazing! So I call up DM and say ”how would you like to go to FL to visit DSis?” We explained that we have super cheap fares and that we can go for $156 RT! She can’t believe it! So we call up DSis and get the okay! We are heading to Florida much earlier than we thought and we are only 1 ½ hrs from Disney!!! We decided that we are going to go the week of Brian’s birthday and start looking about what all we are going to do! But yah we are going to Orlando!

His favorite place to eat in Orlando is Boston Lobster Feast. Mainly because he loves seafood and when I introduced him to lobster down there, he couldn’t get enough of it! :rotfl: So his one request is that we go to eat there….well the way I see it is there is no point in going all the way to Orlando just to eat dinner. I have to get my fix!! So I talk mom into going to the outlet stores while we are there! So we are able to at least check out the sales at the Disney outlets, which will really help the budget for Sept souvenirs for everybody….if I can bring stuff back home now for everybody…..that just means I can spend more money on myself when I am in the parks! :lmao: And when I talked with mom we were discussing going to see Gaylord Palm (which is a sister resort to Opryland Hotel in Nashville – which is currently under about 9 feet of water!). This is right up the street from Downtown Disney. When I asked about going mom said ‘sure, why not!’ So I get a Disney fix with DTD, wahoo!

So we don’t have to wait until September for a break from work!! We get to go back to the beach and relax! Which I think is perfect after all the stress of our jobs! Seriously, earlier this week I begged a guy who works IT to please let me transfer to him! (He said that if he had a position, he would but he doesn’t. Yeah, its that bad!) But yah for a break!!!

Hey Leeanne! After spending a week away from the boards I'm just now getting caught up and I see there's been quite a lot of exciting news going on here! First off, I'm sorry your mom didn't get the nomination - but how great she's going to Disney with you! :goodvibes Wow - you've got a lot of celebrations going on! You're going to have so much fun, I know. Disney really does go the extra mile to make sure celebrating guests are treated extra special!

Woo hoo for getting to head down to Florida sooner than expected! :woohoo: What dates will you be there? (You might have already said that). Oh, and if you do the outlets in Orlando - definitely check out the Premium Outlets off of I-4 - they are the best! :thumbsup2

Hii! We're going in the fall, too.

We stayed at POP last December and loved it; it was really clean, and the food court was fantastic! (You have to get the cheesecake!) We did dinner there one night and got the t.v. dinner with fried chicken, and it was really, really good.

We ate at Akershus for the first time last December, too. It was great; I did a special mom/daughter meal for my momma, and we both adored it. The princesses were spot-on (best we saw all trip) and the good was really, really good.

I haven't forgotten about my PTR and I promise in the next couple of days I will be getting an update posted. In case, you hadn't heard West and Middle Tennessee has been hit extremely hard in the past two weeks with weather. April 24 brought tornado's that hit my dad's farm and I had to go out and take pictures. Beautiful trees down and a ton of fences gone, thankfully no damage to my house other than high winds, hail, and 'ruffled' landscape. Then April 30-May 2 brought floods. As in 'lets build a boat because we aren't able to leave' floods. We were without power for a time, as well as damage to roads and buildings. And the previous 'ruffled' landscape, parts of it is now floating somewhere in a river...oiy vay! I keep my PTR on my computer so what I had typed up I could post but couldn't post any more. Now its just a matter of trying to get everything back the way it was. If anybody has been to Nashville and Opry Mills mall, check out the facebook page. They will probably be closed until minimum October.
I have also lost a dear, dear man who is like a father to me. He was struggling with cancer and the family had to make the decision to give him morphine and let him go to sleep. He was only diagnosised 2 months ago, so it is very much a shock. I guess I just haven't felt like writing about my plans for the past couple of days, but I am trying to get back in the swing of things. Please be patient with me and I will get back in the swing of things.

Thanks!

Welcome back to the World of the Dis! I have also had to take a break in posting but am trying to get back caught up. Mom took it hard but I think is getting very excited about the trip. Her response to the maps was "Wow. This place is big." When I started listing celebrations, they just kept going on and on. I couldn't believe it. They always ask when you make new reservations and the like and I had to write them down to remember them all! We will be there the first part of June and I can't wait. I think we are going to get to check out Premium Outlets. Brian and I went last year and I love some of the stores and the openess of the mall!

I am super excited about staying at POP! My BFF dad adores cheesecake and red velvet cake so he was drooling when I told him about it! I am a bit nervous about Akershus, simply because I am not sure how well we are going to enjoy it. We have never had Norweigan food and I am worried that everybody won't enjoy it. But I am excited because, honestly, I love the princesses! It was on I wanted to try and Brian let me have this, simply because it made me happy. But now I am second guessing myself and not sure if maybe we should switch to something different! Thanks for reassuring me that you enjoyed it....that means alot!

Don't change it! (I'm confident that you'll love it.)

The food isn't that out there. The buffet had a lot of great deli meats and salads; my mom and I both found plenty to eat. The meals were great, too. I had the salmon and I think my mom ordered the chicken. Either way, both were really simple, but yummy dishes. And, the desserts were to-die-for!

It was actually my favorite meal/experience of the trip, and we had a good 6+ ADRs!

Its a good thing we have a trip to St. Augustine planned for June 1. Many more weeks like the past 3 and you might as well commit me! Just hoping that BNA doesn't have that much damage and our flight can leave without a hitch! I need the beach!! (and a little Downtown Disney would hurt eithor!)

Well now we are just waiting…..and counting down the days……and waiting….and watching the Disboards for a promo and what does my wonderful boyfriend say….”You know what? I think we should join a gym.” What?! Where did that come from? Last year we were both in different gyms and neither gym was really close to where we lived, so we decided that when our contract expired we would find a different one. Well, life being what it is………we haven’t. Everybody knows how that is. You fully mean to do something (like get the oil changed in the car :rolleyes1) and time just slips away and before you know it, it’s a month (or two!) later.

So, of course we start looking at the gyms here in town. One is the one that I went to last time and honestly, I don’t really want to go back. Most of the people there are just average people, who want to stay healthy and just work out. A small majority of the people are the ones who lift a zillion pounds and make the rest of us look weak. (They also scare me because, I am sorry, when you can lift my weight, and laugh about it….yeah, no!) His gym is in another city. Now, I know we have good intentions but seriously, another city is not going to happen. We just don’t have the time nor really want to spend the gas money to go. So both our former gyms are out.

Well, while the great gym search is going on the fall promo’s are rumored to come out (I know, I know they have been out for a week now….come on work with me here!). And I am up at 7 AM EST….waiting….will it come out…and……it does!!!! And it is Free Dining, which is what we wanted! Now, we are staying at POP Century (we hope) and really don’t want to change because this is all something new! We will go back and try a different All-Star resort, but really want to try something different. But I also have to have 3 rooms, so I am hoping but not promising! And I call….and wait for 5 minutes….and the CM picks up. Coy fellow he is, I ask if they have a fall promo out (having already heard it on the Dis) and he asks if I saw something on the website. I told him I hadn’t but I heard it through the grapevine! He then wants to know if I am a DVisa card holder (which I am!) and tells me that it is Free Dining!!! So we start changing over the reservations. I am so close to begging because my BFF has a 7yo who is dying to stay in the Big Wheel section of POP. Earlier I had called and had all three reservations linked together so the CM could see all of them, as it is so much easier on them. So linked they are, and change we did!!! Wahoo! :cool1: We are going to Disney with Free Dining!! :woohoo: Now, let the wait begin!!!

Oh right…..the gym. After remembering how much food we are going to be eating (I think poor Brian still has visions/nightmares of our last trip!) we start narrowing it down. We end up at our local Y. Not really a whole lot of body builders there, just a bunch of average people, trying to get a workout in. They are super nice (didn’t mention when I turned red with embarrassment and had to ask how to change the seat position) and helpful (they didn’t know either, but we figured it out ). So now, we are Disney bound, with Free Dining and a gym membership. Which means we can lose weight, then gain it back, then lose it again……oh well! If you are going to gain weight, Disney is the best place for it!!!

Trust I need a motivation buddy! Actually right now, I think about 12 hrs of sleep might be what I need! lol I know I will feel better when I work out, my problem is actually having the energy to get there....hopefully thought when I get some sleep it will lighten up!

Oh Leeanne, I'm sorry you've been having some rough times. Sounds like you need a  But at least you have free dining to perk you up! That's great news! :goodvibes And yay for joining the gym! I started going to a gym pretty regularly last October and I'm actually starting to enjoy it :thumbsup2 I remember getting ready for my January trip and I was dieting (well, still am) and all I could think about was all the yummy food I was going to eat at Disney! :lmao: Surprisingly I only gained 2 pounds on vacation, which I thought was pretty good for the massive amount of food I ate in the World! popcorn::

I am enjoying the gym...if I could get to it! My sister just broke her ankel in 3-5 places and ripped ever ligament and muscle in her ankle. Wouldn't be a problem but she is catering our cousins wedding. Well now she has to stay off it, so now my mom and I have to step up to do the food! So this week has been running around trying to get everything ready to go and make sure Brian and I both have clean clothes to wear. Right now my only option for the gym would be so late at night, that I would be too worn out to go. And more about what else has happened in my next post!

We are now firmly in the waiting stage!! We have park hours, ADRs, promos, and now we are just waiting on Sept to roll around. I am trying to figure out what I can do to make the time pass by a little faster. So I decided to do a Picture of the Day email. I have decided to pull some different pictures about places we are going to be, eat, and see. I don’t want to take away the initial seeing of the parks, however I do want them to know what WDW looks like! So I have been sending a couple of pictures a day to my BFF account. She is so excited!

Now my question is what else can I do to keep the excitement going? I only have a couple more days of pictures that I can use and I really don’t want to show all the wonderful suprises!

Also her little boy graduated Kindergarten this week. I can’t believe he is finished with Kindergarten! So what to give him for a gift….why a Disney gift card of course!

In my earlier comments, I made a comment about life getting super crazy. I hope this isn’t against the rules but I have decided to become a travel agent. I love travel (especially Disney!) and went to a travel agent in town and asked some questions. This past week I have started my training to become a Disney authorized travel agent and let me tell you, I have a whole new respect for anybody who is authorized! They have a 7 hr course! They cover each park (Disneyland & WDW), Adventures by Disney, and Disney Cruise Line. And it is very involved! Of course, I get nervous when I take tests so I get stressed out when I know that is coming, which is at the end of each section. But I am super excited about it! Where else could I work and get to talk about Disney! :dance3::woohoo:

How exciting you're becoming a TA! I would love to do that - I have so much fun planning my own vacations I think it would be so neat to do it for others - and get paid! :thumbsup2 Are you going to be doing this full-time, or will it just be on the side? Good luck on all of the tests! :goodvibes

What fun!!!

I'd love to hear how it goes!

I am official a TA for Disney and I have my first booking! I will be only be doing on the side for now (can't quit my job as I need insurance). However, I have to say that yet again I am impressed with Disney. TAs have a special number that they call and I could just imagaine that the people working the lines could not be as nice as the ones that we all call. I was super impressed at how polite and helpful they were. I had alot of questions and they answered each one and helped me out. When I didn't have the information or I messed something up, they acted like it was not a problem! More kudos for Disney!

We do a Disney movie theme night every week - Lady & the Trap with spaghetti for dinner, 101 Dalmations with biscuits that we shape like dog bones as a side, Pirates with some sort of rum drink. We'll watch the movie and eat our special meal weekly until the trip. Gives you something little to plan and look forward to doing!

Well we are now back from our wonderful trip to St. Augustine Beach! How sad am I that I spend 7 days on the beach and my favorite day was when I found out St. A has a Disney outlet! It could be because that same day is the day Brian fed my addiction and took me to Orlando to the Disney outlet and stores there in addition to Downtown Disney!:banana: That’s right….less than 90 days out and I am sitting outside of “Once Upon a Toy” eating the best frozen lemonade a person can find (which by the way is only in Disney!), and shopping at the discount outlets. And boy did I rack up. I am just happy that they ship stuff home for you! :rolleyes1 I found garden statues for $9 each. They looked like they were from the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival and they were gorgeous! We finally got them yesterday and when I looked at the original price……$40! I couldn’t believe that they were so cheap! I also got magnets for less than a dollar and a coloring book for $2. Those outlet stores are so cheap!

But then the time had come…….we went to Downtown Disney. And it was everything I remembered and more! Even Brian said “shhhhh, do you smell that?” Of course my first thought was ‘why are you wanting us to be quiet if we are smelling something?” But he continued on to say “it’s the pixie dust!” Yah!!! He is officially a convert! We went through all the shops and got a couple of items but mainly just walked around and soaked up the Disneyness. I am super excited to get back in Sept and have already told Brian that he better get ready cause he will probably have a carry on to bring back on the plane. Of course then his response is……”but baby, Disney ships!!!” I adore the new ‘add on’ they have. This is where you buy so many dollars worth of stuff and can get a bag or watch or whatever for ten or fifteen bucks. It is a perfect red rolling suitcase with a bag, that I think would be perfect for my new carry on (as my old one is looking rough….right….thats it!).

And so the countdown continues………and the excitement spins upward!!! Until next time……have a Disney day! :dance3:

I would be happy to post pictures! Always like to help another Disney addict get a fix! ;) Just bear with me for a little bit though, if I don't get them loaded today. The flood we had a month ago that I thought just took out my landscaping, didn't just take out landscaping. Apparently water got into my compressor and shorted it out. So we are in the process of trying to find a new unit. Also, I kept my dad's dog for him to go on a trip right before we left for FL and when I got home my house was infested with fleas! Apparently, the heat makes them breed. I have never had fleas before so this is a whole new ballgame for me! So between doing a weeks worth of dirty :laundy: and rewashing everything that I had thrown around, as well as the pots and lids on my pot rack, I am running around like crazy!!! But I got some super cute stuff and can't wait to show it off!!! Almost makes me want to rent a car, just so I can go check out the outlet stores while I am there in Sept! :drive:

Okay I am going to try to pull the pictures from a facebook album. For some reason I am having a lot of issues uploading pictures to this site. But hopefully here we go!!!
This picture is actually of us last October when we went. Why did I include it? Well we did a cruise and a show aboard a pirate ship called the Black Raven and as we like to think....The Black Raven is probably a sister ship to The Black Pearl!
http://hphotos-snc3.fbcdn.net/hs069.snc3/13656_203117845585_573200585_4534103_7982750_n.jpg

This is us on the beach....I love the beach! This is also taken on Brian's birthday and we got some serious waves on the body board!
http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc3/hs608.snc3/32032_438338170585_573200585_6282557_4882112_n.jpg

And what is a birthday without a cake! My sister is a pastry chef so this is a vanilla bean cake, with a peach compote filling, with marshmallow cream frosting, topped with strawberries. Yeah, I can't make it either....but it was wonderful....and a great sugar buzz!! :rotfl:
http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc3/hs638.snc3/32032_438338205585_573200585_6282559_7157900_n.jpg

Now it on to the purchases.....but if you all want to see pictures of the beach and the pier, let me know...I would be happy to post them!

First up for bid....I mean first purchase shown is...
what I think is probably a pencil jar. I actually bought this a Goodwill. We left with a ton of time to spare so we decided to stop by a couple of Goodwill's in Jacksonville. You never know what you will find! This is a non-slip bottom and the way it is shaped makes me think its a pencil jar and from the Mickey's on the front probably an older one.

Total cost $0.59

Next we have this beautiful Minnie coffee mug

http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash1/hs548.ash1/32032_438340260585_573200585_6282621_7069734_n.jpg

Total cost $0.89. Apparently Minnie is worth more than Mickey! lol

Next a couple of magnets

Mom loves to garden and I figured this was from the Flower and Garden Festival. I never saw these last year when we were there, but I have started to realize that we didn’t spend much time in the gift shops so I probably missed a lot of the items. Total cost $0.99. (After giving it to her, I would have paid $20 bucks for the same reaction. She loves it!)

Again, didn’t see this last year but I love it. The characters spin around the center and our first trip was in 2009, so I thought this was a must have! Cost $.99.

This is a 2009 character ornament. I thought it was too cute and very reasonable priced. Cost $.99.

Another Disney magnet. I forgot I bought this one and had it shipped to my house and then bought the other one! Gotta love brain hiccups! :rotfl: Cost $1.99

http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc3/hs608.snc3/32032_438340270585_573200585_6282623_4072556_n.jpg

I thought this would be cute at our Halloween party. That and I like popcorn! Cost $1.00

http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc3/hs638.snc3/32032_438340300585_573200585_6282625_6633718_n.jpg

I saw these on here from a MNSSHP thread and showed them to Brian. I love candles and really wanted a set of these. He found them in the store and brought them to me. They are too cute and I love them! Cost $6.99

http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc3/hs608.snc3/32032_438340185585_573200585_6282614_3505733_n.jpg
We bought this for my mom. One of her friends keeps buying her page kits, so Brian decided that we needed to find her a scrapbook. I figured since it is her first trip, and we will be there for 10 park days, with 11 total, she needed her own scrapbook. I really didn’t like the ones with characters all over it and thought she would like something a little nicer. We found this almost on accident. They had 2 of them and we grabbed this one! Cost $19.99

http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash1/hs548.ash1/32032_438340195585_573200585_6282615_7321132_n.jpg
My best friend who is going with us, loves Pirates! So when I found this I thought it was perfect! I have been buying little scrapbooking things, so about a month before the trip I am going to give her a Christmas stocking! Nothing like Christmas in August! Cost $0.99

http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash1/hs548.ash1/32032_438340090585_573200585_6282603_2926508_n.jpg
Her little boy loves Cars. I actually found these at Michaels but I thought since they were driving down (at least 12 hours!) he might need a new set of crayons and coloring books. Cost $1.00

http://hphotos-snc3.fbcdn.net/hs608.snc3/32032_438340250585_573200585_6282620_2040969_n.jpg
This is a WDW coloring book they had. I thought it might be a great way to get him in the mood! Cost $1.99
Both the coloring book and crayons will be around 3 days before the trip along with some other treats!

http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc3/hs608.snc3/32032_438340170585_573200585_6282612_6715563_n.jpg
This is a make your own T-shirt. It says “Thrills on Wheels” and comes with glitter paint and an iron-on transfer. Hobby Lobby $1.79

http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc3/hs638.snc3/32032_438340175585_573200585_6282613_2278373_n.jpg
Another make your own T-shirt, but this time a Pirate iron-on. I plan on giving both iron-on sets around a month before the trip. That way, if they want to make them and take them they can, and if they don’t then he still has something before the trip to play with. Hobby Lobby $1.79

http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc3/hs608.snc3/32032_438340145585_573200585_6282610_4596810_n.jpg
This didn’t come from a Disney store but rather a flea market. Brian knows I have a hat similar to this one from when I was a kid, that is Daisy Duck. He decided I needed Minnie Mouse as well! Cost $3.00

I will have to post a part 2....apparently you can only have so many links in one post! So to be continued ......................

I think these were $1.00. I got my best friend one and myself as well. These actually match the Buzz stickers I had bought previously. Brian has made me promise we get to see more characters this time, so we are hoping to get Buzz and Woody!

Eyeore was $1.74. I can never find any stickers of him so when I found this, I grabbed it! Toy Story stickers were also $1.74. I am hoping for some good pictures in the line and outside TSMM!

Worry not! Leeanne is back! And hopefully things are going to calm down a bit (but I don't count on it! :rotfl: ). I am very happy to announce that I now have an AC unit! When the floods came thru West/Middle Tennessee, I considered myself very lucky, as I had almost no damage, only a bit of landscaping fencing and some dirt wash away. What I didn't know is that apparently, it took out my compressor on my AC unit. We hadn't run the air for a while, because it was still cool enough to just use fans, windows, ect. When we went to run it, we noticed it wasn't cool enough, but just figured it need coolant. When the guy came to put some coolant in it, we found out that we needed a new compressor. So we now a brand new unit, and it is finally cool in the house and I can get in there and clear out everything, and clean! Sorry about the length between posts, but I do have some Disney news!

So while we are at Disney this Sept we are going to be able to go to the first Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party! We love Halloween so we are super excited! I am trying to find all the information I can and have subscribed to a couple of the threads on here but I want to know, have any of you gone to MNSSHP? How is the party and what types would you give? And does anybody else love Halloween as much as us? We started having some people over two years ago to pass out candy, which bloomed into a Halloween party last year and plans for this year!

65 days and counting!!!! :teacher:

We are so happy we have air! When its 90 degree in Tennessee.....well it makes even the most patient person a little 'short tempered'. :rolleyes1

We both love Halloween and are so excited to get to go to MNSSHP! We are thinking about costumes now. We both want to dress up and are trying to talk my mum into dressing up as well. As of right now I have her somewhat agreeing to be a Mouseketeer! I told her a simple tee, with the Mickey Mouse Club symbol on the front and her name on the back. Then add a pair of mouse ears (which we brought her back last year) and bingo-chango…..instant costume! Now the big thing comes in, how the heck to find a Mickey Mouse Club symbol.

Welcome back!!

I've been doing a lot of MNSSHP research, too!

Wonderful....we may need to share the info across the lines!

I am working on an update now so be on the look out for it! This will be where I delve into daily details!

Leeanne
07-13-2010, 01:49 PM
Well we are at 53 days and counting! So what else to talk about but our daily schedule! Because I am now obsessively checking and rechecking everything! So as a reminder, for the first 7 days I will have my best friend and her family and for the entire time it will be Brian, my mum, and myself.

So my friends are going to drive to Florida two days before our trip, so they can enjoy the beach and the ocean. They will then meet up with us sometime on Sunday, Sept 5, either at Downtown Disney or the hotel.

Brian has decided he is going down a day earlier (Saturday) than mum and myself. He isn’t telling why he wants to go down, only that he wants to go and walk Downtown Disney. I am hoping that he has something that he wants to get…..for me! :rotfl: Lol

So mom and I are coming down on Sunday and have decided that we really don’t want to lose a day in the park so we are going to Downtown Disney! I think this is one of the best places to start a trip with. It slowly gets you into the magic with the décor and some of those shops are wonderful! I can’t wait to show mom The World of Disney store with its fifty thousand rooms and the Christmas shop. I remember the first time I went to Downtown Disney and walked in the World of Disney. I was amazed and more than a little overwhelmed by the amount of stuff for sell! Then I walked into what I call the main room. It’s the one that has the castle with the tv screens in it. I am sure if security was watching they saw my mouth drop open and I just stood there and stared at it. I couldn’t believe the size of it! Even now it still brings a smile to my face and I have to take a picture of it. I also love the Christmas store because they have such unique items there! And Brian found last time that you can bring other items into and have them embroidery on it. My sister is a pastry chef, so he bought her a chef's hat at the kitchen store and had her name embroidered on it. She loved it! And when we went in June, we found a glass shop, with some items I had never seen before!

So what other stores could I have been missing out on? We love the shop with all the art work and large figures and drool over all the pieces. But I am thinking that we have missed some of the shops because of location or just overlooking. We just went into Goofy's Candy Company for the first time in June! How have we overlooked that one!?

Then we have bought gift certificates off www.restaurant.com for House of Blues. We have never eaten here so I am nervous about this. I told my friend and her family about it and showed them a sample menu and we both got gift certificates so now I am hoping that it is good food! Wouldn't be a good thing to start our trip off with really bad food! Please somebody tell me its going to be a good place and that they have decent food?! Everybody is placing their trust in me and I want it to be good!

Welcome aboard! Let me know if you are doing a PTR or a TR and I would love to read it. As you can tell, life keeps me busy, so updates are random but I think that just adds to the charm! It is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get! I love the ring as well and is now the only piece of jewelry I always wear! Earrings, necklace, ect they all change (sometimes daily) but that ring remains a constant. And I know it a cliché but I thought it was a perfect gift, in front of Cinderella’s castle for his princess! :rotfl: Those pictures are perfect! I love the story! :cloud9:

I love DTD and figure this is a great way to slowly get mom in the Disney spirit! Plus it is shopping....and my mother loves to shop! And I would be very grateful if you could figure out what Brian is up too! Because I am getting nothing out of him at all! :headache: He just says he wants to go to DTD and just look around the shops. Goober

So the second day (Sept 6) is our first official park day. We are going to the Magic Kingdom and I can’t wait for this one. The last time Brian and I were there we had a wonderful time, not to mention the wonderful night that Brian gave me my promise ring. I love the pre-show and that first look at the castle is simply wonderful. So we are hoping to be able to see both the stage show and the parade (what time is that parade again? :rotfl:). Then we have reservations at Whispering Cannon Café that night. I had heard a lot about this place and I am hoping that it lives up to its reputation. I am thinking this would be a fun place for dinner the first park day. Then it’s a boat ride back to Magic Kingdom for SpectroMagic (or the Main Street Electrical Parade) and Wishes.

Next day, we are planning on going to Epcot and are really hoping to be able to spend some time in the World Showcase. We went through last year and just walked around and did the KidCot, but we really didn’t spend any time going through each one and didn’t get to see the shows or the entertainment. That night we are going to Ohana for dinner. We have never eaten here so we are really excited to try this out. My plans for the rest of the night are the Electrical Water Pageant from the beaches of the Poly hotel, as well as Wishes. Lets hope it works, I can’t wait!!

I think the party is the thing I'm most excited about too!!

I love the electrical water parade; it's so much fun. Very simple, but a great WDW touch!

Before I jump back into my daily agenda I want to apologize for neglecting you all! I have just got back from a wonderful <note sarcasm> business trip to a state park. Needless to say my updates didn’t happen as the Internet was here….then there…..then here….then there….ect, ect. But I am finally back to civilization! (and enjoying every minute of internet and cell phone use!) And right before I left, this guy hit Brian’s car when he was at work, so we have been working with police reports and insurance, as well as trying to find a new car! But without further ado, here are days 4, 5, 6, and 7!

Our fourth day we are going to Animal Kingdom. I know some people don’t like Animal Kingdom, but I really do. I enjoy the animals and the beautiful foliage. The flowers and flora, oh how it speaks to me! There is just something about this park that I really enjoy. I love Festival of the Lion King and Nemo. Its just so fun! For dinner that night we are going to Chef Mickey’s. This is the one restaurant we wanted to go back to. I know a lot of people have had really bad experiences at but it is one that we had a ball at! Where else would Donald Duck <cue music> shake his tail feathers <end music> right in front of you?! Then we are going back to the Animal Kingdom for Extra Magic Hours that night. We haven’t done evening EMH at Animal Kingdom so that should be fun to see it at night!

Next, we are planning on going to Hollywood Studios! This park Brian is looking the most forward to. We didn’t get to do some of the shows (Lights, Motors, Action) last time and Brian is determined to see it this time! Dinner will be Fantasmic! Dining at Mama Melrose. We love Fantasmic! The show and water and characters….it is just wonderful!

Sept 10 we plan on going back to Magic Kingdom….why? Well why not! We may hop over to Epcot later. We really just kinda go with the flow after we have hit all the parks. We are planning on going to each park twice but if the spirit moves then it moves! Dinner that night is at Cape May Café and then back to EMH at Epcot!

The next day we are going back to Hollywood Studios….I didn’t think we could handle only one day with TSMM! We love that ride (along with everybody in the park!). Also, Brian likes RNRC and I like TOT, so I figure we can split up and go on each! Dinner that night is at Garden Grill. We ‘chased’ those heathen chipmunks around the parks last year and never got to see them! Brian threatened to bring buckshot this year, so I decided that we needed to have a dinner with them, to keep him out of jail! lol

Okay major questions. I thought about posting this on the main page but it has taken me a minute to comprehend this and be able to post it here. Currently we are at 25 days before our trip. My mom and I are in one room, and Brian is in another. We have split the cost of the rooms 3 ways. However, we have just found out that my grandmother is in A-Fib (no idea how to spell that) as well as kidney failure. Basically, her heart isn't pumping blood and parts of it is just quivering, as well as kidney's shutting down. She has been in progressively bad shape for several years, and my mother lives with her to care for her. Mom has said that she is not going if my grandmother is still here. No problems with that, I understand and seriously considered canceling our trip, but my best friend's family is depending upon us to help them out with everything. I know I can change the dates on one room and my mom and I go in the spring, however my question is can I add myself to Brian's room and change money over from one room to the next? Also the free dining promo will end on sunday. Will this affect my ability to change and add people (ie Brian's name comes on my reservation, and mom's goes on his, and we add one more day to the reservation). I know the answers are on here, but honestly I am not thinking clear enough to find them. I know it is coming down the wire but honestly I really don't care. I know we all need a vacation due to other factors but this has just set us for a whirl. I just don't know.

So Brian went to see my mother on Wednesday to see if he could convince her to come to Disney even for a short period of time. She had to see if she could get somebody to stay with my grandmother, and today……..SHE DID!!! Somehow my wonderful fabulous man :lovestruc has convinced my mother to come down for a week!! Weeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am super excited! So my wonderful mother is going to be able to come down for a week!! Squeal!!! :dance3: So I get my mother for a week ,then my wonderful DBF for a few days. I am so excited!! I took her the new Cricut cartirege and her scrapbook we purchased a few months back. She is so excited and LOVED them!!! Mum is going to fly home on Sept 11. So all the previous stuff involves my wonderful mother! Yah!!!
Okay the rest of the schedule is just myself and my wonderful Brian! Wow I love that man! :lovestruc:cloud9:
Sept 12 we plan on heading to Animal Kingdom and the Hoop Dee Doo Revue. I understand that this is the longest running show and I love shows so this should be good!
Sept 13 is a toss up on which park. We are going to dinner at Boma and I am hoping that are able to see some of the animals on the savannah! Then EMH at Magic Kingdom.
Sept 14 is again any park we want to go to, with dinner at Akershus! Yah, my princess dinner!! Then its MNSSHP! We love Halloween, and are so excited about the party. We actually have a ‘schedule’ for how we want to attack the party. First Snow White and the 7 Dwarves, the Cinderella Carriage, and lastly Haunted Mansion for the special pictures. Of course the parade, and fireworks show! pirate:
Sept 15 I am thinking that because the party ends at 12, we probably are going to not want to get up early, early. But again we can pick our park and just go. This is our last day so we will try to get as much magic in to last us until the next time we are there!
Well that’s the end of it all…..4 days, a party and a wonderful surprise in my mom getting to come! So as of today, two weeks until we are on the plane headed to the most magical place on Earth!! :cloud9:

I am super excited that my mum is getting to come!!! And I finally dug out....well not a suitcase but stuff from Wal-Mart I bought. I plan on starting tonight with packing but this week has been looking for shorts and doing laundry and getting everything ready to go (auto bill pay, online registration, ect). And changing Brian's room. He is now going up on Friday not Saturday (the goober!). All I can say is he better enjoy it, because once I get there its not a quiet relaxing vacation anymore :rotfl: But packing starts tonight!!! YAH!!!!!! Might see you around, I'll be attaching a green mickey head to my bag!!!

Okay so normally at 4 days before your trip you don't make changes.....this just means I am not normal! So as I stated earlier mom is going to only be staying a week. We had planned to move me to Brian's room, and book mom a room only reservation, with tickets and dining. Well when we priced this out, it came out to about $100 less than what we currently have. So mom told me to not worry about it! She said that it wasn't worth the hassle of trying to get a room and get new information and all that stuff, at this stage in the game. So we are going to pull her tickets off the last night she is there, put them on a separate ticket, and see about adding the no-expiration option. Which means another trip in her future! So, then we were talking about the dining credits, and she wanted to know if we could use them. Well, of course I jump to the DIS to look for answer, and it looks like I can use her credits, because we are in the same room! So we are adding in breakfast at 1900 Park Fare Supercalifragilistic Breakfast at the Grand Floridian and Kona at the Poly! I have heard such good things about Tonga Toast and when I read off the description to Brian he thought it sounded good!! So we get to see Alice and the Mad Hatter and try Tonga Toast!!! What good changes in short notice! Anybody got favorites at Park Fare or Kona?

And the second change is Brian is not going down on Saturday now. He has now decided that Friday is a much better day. I am very happy that I have converted him but two days before me!! That just isn't fair!!! I told him he had to get me something pretty! :rotfl: So three major changes in the two weeks before my vacation! But here is hoping they are all good!! :cheer2:

I haven't been to PF or Kona, but I'm planning on getting to both of them in the near future! I think those are great choices. :thumbsup2 I'd say at Kona definitely get the Tonga toast. Hey Tiffany!!! I am so glad you found my PTR. I am getting ready to write my TR so welcome aboard! I am so happy to have met you and your husband and your adorable little girl. We had no problem sharing the sidewalk and had a wonderful time in the process. Talking to other people really helps pass the time and makes your enjoy it that much more! So everybody keep a watch out for my TR. I promise you that it will be worth it!

I will post a link here to link to the new report and there is a lot of information to be shared! 11 days, more food then I really think should have been allowed, and a MNSSHP! As well, as the wonderful goofy comments made! Some of them I am still :rotfl: about!
