Okay...... slight exaggeration, but after a pretty good first night's sleep when we'd just got back ( took a Melatonin), I only got two hours sleep the second night ( last night)!! Been awake since 2.30am....... I gave up trying to sleep at 3.30am and came down for a milky drink and some biccies to get that sleepy feeling back........ then was confronted by The Spider From Hell - we are talking Mammoth. Well forget sleepiness - this guy had legs the size of a Tarantula....... okay they may have been a lot thinner but they were looooonnng and he sat there on the bottom stair barring my way to Bedland...... where my Fearless Spider Removers were fast asleep.
I armed myself with weapons of mass destruction ( two dusters, a dustpan and brush and a bowl.......... ???), but knew I couldn't kill it.
Such stress! I should also add that on our return we also found a wasp nest in the bathroom air extractor ( which was dealt with yesterday evening) and there are hills on our back lawn........ no, not moles......ANTS would you believe??
Then there are thousands of those little black storm bugs everywhere......... I tell you it's a full on creepy crawly assault - anyone else suffering?

I once woke up with a spider on my head!!!
Worse though is that my Chap has woke up and had a leg! on his mouth so we figured it went in his mouth and he ate it. Spiders leg was more in the mouth than out. Size of the leg was also long so yum yum Nic!!!!:o

Hope you managed to get some sleep in the end Shirley, seems like you're overrun by creepy crawlies at the moment, don't think I'll be taking a trip to your part of the world in the near future!!
We've got flying ants at the moment and had to have the Wasp man in too a couple of weeks back as they decided to take up residence in our eaves.
Oh Muppet - how disgusting is that for a story - yeuck!!
Spiders for tea anyone?!!! :D

That is awful when you can't sleep isnt it - did you not take another melatonin before you went to bed? That might help tonight - just to make sure you get a decent 8 hours.
Spiders - dont even go there!!!!!!!!!!!! I cant believe the size of the spiders we have had in Suffolk! Nothing like the wimps back in Essex ohhhh noooo!!!!!!! They are just HUGE.
We have got rid of the Rapeseed Bugs - we've got rid of the Rapeseed too! We have thunderbugs by the thousands and Flies! OMG - I have swatted that many that I actually get them now!!! LOL
DH says I have to get accustomed to this Country way :)

Did you know that most people eat an average of EIGHT spiders in their lifetime:eek:
Doesn't bear thinking about, absolutely terrified of them, no matter how big or small. Even our three cats won't touch some of the big devils we get here once the farmer's harvested the field at the bottom of our garden (OMG, that's NEXT WEEK:rolleyes: ).
Darryl used to have dreams about spiders crawling over him and I got so used to it NOT happening I ignored him . . . until one morning he woke up and there on the bed and floor were the remains of the spider he'd been fighting in his "dream". (Muppet, can't quite match Nic's Spider Sandwich:eek: ).
But the spooky thing is, just before I checked your thread out Shirley, Darryl had just come back in from tucking in our friend's doggy we're minding and said, did you tread on that great big spider in the porch (at which point my bare feet moved straight up on to the legs of the computer chair, no messing:p ). I hope not, but there had been a REALLY ugly, great bulbus black bodied one in the corner of the porch yesterday. Let's hope his big brother's don't come looking for us.
Anyway, Shirley - hope you sleep better tonight. WITH NO BUGS;)

LOL LOL Hilary ..... I wondered why no-one picked up on that earlier :D ..... well ..........you see...... I don't like to kill them so at least if you throw a duster ( or even two :D ) it stops them in their tracks temporarily whilst the cavalry come without hurting them.
The bowl?? Well, I was going to 'contain' the spider by upturning the bowl if he began to run towards me :) LOL!!!!!!!
......... the dustpan and brush?........... Jetlag ;) !!!!!!
