Right now it is just DH and I, so we don't get to see the looks of joy, or get to go to Kidcot stations. :(

However.... we also don't think twice about sleeping for only 4 hours, having a few drinks and we have yet to have meltdown ruin a meal.

So tell me, what is your favorite part of doing Disney adults only?

As an annual passholder, I try to go at least three times a year. One time I will take my teen-age nephews, one time I will go with friends, and I always try to go solo once a year. Though I enjoy the people I travel with, my favorite part about going by myself is doing anything and everything I want. I don't have to please anyone else. I love being on my own schedule...if I want to constantly park hop, or visit other resorts, I will do that. I love to go in all the stores, for example...I really don't care that most of them have the same thing...I still love to visit each and every one of them. I can't do that with my nephews or my friends. One thing I haven't done yet is give up my flight for a later flight when my airline overbooks. I want to do that someday...it would be great to get free tickets sometime...I would only do that if I were traveling alone.

My favorite part is being a kid myself and not having to keep an eye out/be responsible for any younger ones. I also love being able to go to Jellyrolls!

Drinking Around the World :)

And enjoying leisurely meals.

Also, not having to wait for rider switches when the kid isn't big enough (we went with my year-old niece once...never. again.)

I agree with all the above. Especially the Jellyrolls part. Susan

I agree with Drinking Around the World, including a visit to the Hat Lady in the UK.

I also like to hit one park each day at rope drop and get in some rides before the crowds get too big. I just got back from a trip with my sister, her husband, and kids (ages 16, 7, and 2) and discovered that getting to a park at rope drop is pretty much an impossibility! This is part of my excuse for planning another adults-only trip this fall.

We LOVE the Food and Wine Festival !!! What's better for adults at WDW?
Also, we used to love Pleasure Island with all the clubs, but alas, that is no more. We've also loved the Board Walk, and although we've stayed there every time for years, we've never done Jelly Rolls. Have to try it next time I guess. Luckily we're staying after the F&W festival ends this year.

This will be our 6th trip and we have never been with little ones. (Empty nesters)

We are hoping that one day we will have grandchildren to take with us but for now, we LOVE our adult trips to the world.

Let's see:

Late night swims or jacuzzi when most of the little ones are in bed.

Long naps in the afternoon.

Not getting up in the morning until we want to.

Having long romantic dinners.

But most of all, having a relaxing vacation with my DH.

This is what I love about going to Disney World, you can have whatever type of vacation you want to with the right planning.

You can play golf, go boating, biking and/or take a long beautiful walk, followed by a Polynesian dinner complete with pineapple drinks and tiki torches and the next day spend the day at the Magic Kingdom and have hot fudge sundaes for dinner and be a kid yourself!

Mostly, I love the fact that we can do what we want when we want. Complete freedom to please ourselves :thumbsup2

The fact that we can decide at the last minute to go to Epcot instead of MK and it's not an issue - no kids to moan about missing out on their favourite rides.

We love visiting as a family but DH and I also like the adults-only trips with leisurely meals, evening drinks, late nights and lay-ins and - as a couple of other people also stated - Jellyrolls.

I haven't dont it with kids much. Mainly done with my family(adults). I think having the freedom and doing the rides you want without having to deal with the smaller kiddy rides that you might want to not necesseraly be ones that you want to do at that moment.

Being able to stop and sit on a bench and enjoy the moment in the arms of the man you love.

Always make a rope drop time when I want to, do horseback trail riding at FW, never have to wait outside a restroom for the party to re-assemble, so much to do and the time is all mine:cool1:

I'm going to do Kidcot station without a kid! ;) I saw them all last time, and bought a kit to do the next time I go, hopefully in October. hehe

It's probably wrong of me ... but many o' time while in the World Showcase I've enjoyed watching a family/kiddie meltdown while relaxing on a bench with a beer or slushie :confused3

As an adult with my parents in WDW, anytime I felt there might be a meltdown or argument brewing, I'd just excuse myself and head to the Rose&Crown, Cava Del Tequila, or Tune in Lounge.

Drinking!!!! :lmao: I don't drink in front of the kids, but I was able to try several (but not too many!) of the great drinks at WS during the afternoons/evenings. We also hit Jellyrolls and had a BLAST!! I missed them a lot, though. I probably won't go sans kids until they decide they don't want to go, but since we travel with so many people (aka willing sitters), we'll definitely do some nights out.

I love that DH and I can make it to rope drop on time and stay until park closing. No melt downs. We rest when we want to, eat when we want to, ride what we want to. Love it!

Drinking at the lounge at POR each night.

Getting up at 3 am to stick my feet in the quiet pool next to Oak Manor.

Going to the spa at SSR.

Laying in bed one entire day reading and watching TV or lounging by the pool.

Going to eat whenever I want and lingering for as long as I want.

Except my DH is not a Disney fanatic like me. So I leave him at home and go with my best friend!

When I alone, I do what I want and when I want. I can have complete freedom of choice for lunch or dinner and since I have an AP, I don't feel as though I'm cheating myself by not doing everything. I can always come back. :thumbsup2

I don't have kids of my own yet but I know these things will change if/when I do, so this is what I love: traveling light, touring at my own pace, riding what I want to ride, eating/drinking at restaurants of my choice, not having to worry about children getting lost/injured/having meltdowns, and most importantly being able to act like a kid again and not having to play the responsible adult. It may sound selfish but I firmly believe Disney is for adults, too. Now if the cast members would just stop assuming that my brother is my boyfriend/husband when we go together. :lmao:

being able to walk quickly. some people think we must be jerks but when you are 6" and have a long stride you just have the natural ability to book it past slow people with strollers.

Yes! I hit four parks today (Epcot, DHS, MK, then DHS for Fantasia) with zero stress and a pool/nap break, mainly I think, because I can get where I need to get to quickly. I miss my kids this weekend, but not when I'm running to catch a bus...

Well, it used to be The Adventurer's Club. However, we still get:

No parades.
No standing in line for character autographs.
No complaining about scary rides.
No complaining about cheesy rides.
No complaining about heat/rain/pained feet/tiredness/boredom/etc. (well, not much anyways).
No constant requests for expensive souveniers.
No food to mouth wardrobe malfunctions.
Disneyquest till midnight.
We can sleep on Ellen's Universe of Engery...or the Great Movie Ride.
We can leave a park in the middle of the day without guilt about not having done everything.
We can ride the Haunted Mansion three times without guilt about taking up time needlessly.
We can skip waiting for Dumbo.
We can steal the Cinderella horse (we run faster than parents with little kids in tow).
We can behave maliciously towards one another in the pool, or the lazy river, or on the speedway.
We can make out on the TTA...or the Haunted Mansion...or a number of other likely rides.
We don't have to let some little kid win at mini-golf.

I could go on.

We are DINKS and we can do whatever we want.
0100 swim in the quiet pool.
Sleep in. Put the "do not disturb" out.;)
Eat dinner at 9:00 p.m. and then go for after dinner drinks around the world.
Have more money so we can spend more days in WDW.:)
We can leave the park and go back to the room anytime we want. Or we can just do a resort day and relax.
Its just wonderful!;)

We just came back from the "adult only" trip. I would have to say the best part was being able to take a tour. We did the Keys to Kingdom tour and highly recommend it. And top quote from previous trips not said this one was..... "where is the stroller?" Just remembered the absolute best thing was enjoyin well deserved alone time with ourselves.

We're DVC owners with APs and visit 2-3 times a year. We love the relaxation and flexibility. Sleep in or make it to rope drop as we wish. Lie around the pool all day reading and then go to MK early to get a perfect seat for the parade. Cherry-pick our favorite attractions at a leisurely pace or do a tour. No lines to meet characters, trying to keep an eye on a child at a playground, or whining (okay, I whine a little sometimes). It's freedom!

Everyone we talked to before we went for the first time told us 'you will NEVER see it all in a week.'
WELL, as two newlywed 23 year-olds, let me tell you, we saw all 4 parks, a water park, DTD and little bits in between! I will never say we saw it all (because we have been back another time since and still found things we hadn't seen) but we lapped people with kids and strollers over and over! We did what we wanted, when we wanted, at the pace we wanted (which was FAST :) because I couldn't contain my excitement!).

However, I'm a little biased, because I have never been to Disney with kids, but I feel kind of selfish feeling a little sad that I will not get to do everything *I* want to do when we have kids LOL! :)

Enjoy adult time at Disney, but act like a kid ;)
