Happy Lab professionals week, Deb! (Where was that when I was a lab tech? All I ever got was um - the stuff that rolls down hill)

Has anyone ever had a bronchoscopy? (may be the outcome of the pulmonologist visit. Prednisone, if that doesn't work, another cat scan, then bronchoscopy). I have only one word for that :scared1:

Today, I will

Pool exercise
drink more water
breakfast, lunch, dinner (pork chops)
pick up library book
drink more water
grocery shop
prepare for tomorrows interview (cookbook project)
read (Different Learners, Identifying , preventing, and treating your child's Learning problems - by Jane M. Healy) Facinating. I don't have a kid with LD, but my granddaughter has multiple issues, and both dh and I were undiagnosed but at least ADD and probably Aspies. I read and think "what might have been"

Happy Day, all! (Remember to take your vitamins!!!)

Morning Tuesday!

Stephanie- what color dress?

Holly, her dress is gold. She doesn't want DS seeing her dress before prom so when she had it altered, she saved a piece of the fabric for DS to use to match his tux (well, the vest & bowtie) to her dress. We'll use that to find the right flowers too.

I've also asked DS to ask her if she might have a bigger piece of fabric that I could have to make a bow to put on the scrapbook page for the prom.

Let's see...
Haven't done much cause can't get motivated..

Worked at school. I'm off next week due to spring I-step testing.. Yay, not! I despise standardized testing!! DESPISE it... (I don't have to take it, so I can only imagine what my 3rd and 8th grader think about it.. my 8th grader it is his last year for it...but now he has some course in HS that he must pass the end of course assement or can't graduate...but that isn't an issue)...

Today:
Pick up N for kdg.
lunch quickly
stores for washing maching comparison... I hope I can find one on clearance...
stop by florist or Michaels and see if they can whip me up a wristlet for Prom this weekend... DH and DS13 have a soccer game out of town..so they want to buy it for PJ...
I'm not sure what else.. .I just need to find my washing machine... stresses me out not to have all my home office equipment!

Brooke, I so hear your pain... DD dealt w/ that last week... poor girl... I'll remind her of all the dwarfs she carries around that week.... she'll get a kick out of that...
Debbie, happy lab professionals week!!!!
Everyone else: Have a great day!!!

I wanna be the unpopular elf - pissy.

Crappy weather here today - rain and hail and thunderstorms predicted for us. But I have to brave the grocery store!

And get diapers.

Other than that! Looks like me and Little One will be playing Perfection. And I have to finish my Sports Swap. And always laundry. And really must attack the floors.

Happy Lab Professionals Day Deb!!

Well, in about 3 hours I can do laundry again! Got a nice Whirlpool: Estate for a nice little discount due to the repairman referral...... :) Got a 10 year warranty for $40.00.... yup, 10 year... guy was super great and when he found out we had 5 kids and one going off to college in the fall he cut the 10 year warranty price in addition to the washer discount....

They also had golf umbrellas for 3.97 each and he gave me both for $5.00! :)
I think I'll go back and find this same guy next time we need something!

I spent w/in my budget that I had planned... knowing I'd have to probably exceed it.. but I didn't!!!!

Ugh...I totally screwed up as a Mom...

The bean usually does the Tufts University Theater Camp Program every summer with her best friends (they are twins) and I forgot to resgister her in time and they are full up! Argghh...She is going to be *crushed* she soooo looks forward to it. They put me on the wait list, but there are 4 in front of her. I am so frustrated with myself - I usually have this all organized by January at the latest. It was such a bad winter for me - still no excuse. <sigh> Just had to vent a little...

Thanks for listening.

PN96 - glad you got your washer - and a good deal to boot:goodvibes

PrincessNancy96
04-20-2010, 01:47 PM
Tinkerbean it's okay... she live.. she'll be a little crushed but she will survive... I know she wanted to go.... I've done the same thing before.. totally forgot something I knew about...

The new washer has made it to the kitchen.. I can't get it down the stairwell... and DH can't get it there because he won't let me go guide it... but will when the 13 yo he can help Dad from behind...and I can guide from the bottom..
We got the old one up and out and into the truck to be disposed of... but I pulled that bad boy up the stairs while DH pushed from behind.. don't tell me my 5'2" self can't do this.. I'll prove to you I can...and I did...

TinkerBean
04-20-2010, 01:59 PM
Thanks - just feeling bad about it...

Good luck with the washing machine. I get like that too. Nodoby is telling me what I can't do. I remember being 4 months pregnant with the bean, and Max was 2yrs old. I decided that I couldn't stand the kitchen any more. When Randy came home from work that night I had demolished two walls with the sledge hammer, down to the studs. Randy knew better than to say anything other than "Guess we are remodelling the kitchen..."

I'm 5'1 :goodvibes

Sorry to hear about the camp - maybe with the economy still not-so-great, some of the families will have second thoughts and spots may open up? My kids have been begging for a playdate with yours - give me a call!

Boy - I don't want to step on the scale tomorrow! Since the kids are off from school and we didn't have anything special to do, we just got back from a sort-of-local (30 miles away) famous ice cream farm. Awesome flavors! Their "smalls" are enough for about three people to share. :) But I ate all of mine...groan. They even provided a free "doggy ice cream dish " so Oreo got his own (first ever!) scoop of vanilla - he's in heaven --- :lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc! We brought a few hand-packed pints of their favorite flavors back for Z2H and DH, since they got left out of our little trip...shhhhhh....!

Now - the rice cooker mac and cheese that was SUPPOSED to be for dinner may just yield a lot of leftovers. We're all stuffed! Ooopppppsssss!

DS18's going stag to the prom now. His date was his best friend, and she has SATs the next morning. Very unfortunate scheduling. :guilty:

Ohhhh -- sounds like fun! Please put up photos! I made Danica's rosebud tiara a couple of years ago for her Senior Prom. I knew what I wanted - and the "real" prices were insane. A 4.99 bouquet of pink baby rosebuds and tiny purple filler flowers from the grocery store, one of my plastic headbands, and a roll of florist tape - we were good to go. It looked smashing and she has it dried as a keepsake. (So, I guess I never did get that headband back!)

Rice Cooker Mac & Cheese (adapted from the Wolfgang Puck recipe)

Rice cooker - with a white rice setting.
One 16 oz box of dried macaroni (shells, elbows, ziti, whatever)
2 cups water
2 cups of milk
1/2 stick of butter or margarine
2 small (or one large) cubes of chicken bouillon
Dash of white pepper
8-10 oz (or a handful or two) of frozen cheddar cheese (or other favorite cheese or cheese blend of your choice)
1" cut off a block of Velveeta - break into a few cubes

Dump all the ingredients into the cold rice cooker. Stir them together. Set the cooker for the white rice setting. Walk away. In about 15 minutes, stir (when you can smell the aroma of the mac & cheese). May need 3-4 more minutes of cooking. If any crusty bits form on the bottom, just mix them in. (This is TinkerBean's favorite part! She also dumps in a can of chopped tomatoes.) Serves 3-4 as a main course, 6 if a side dish.

Here's another crock pot recipe for Disney.

I brought frozen cooked ground meat with me in a soft cooler in my suitcase, but you could use precooked chicken from the market, chopped up, or no meat at all.

Bottle of spaghetti sauce
can of mushroom slices, if your family likes them.
veggies chopped if you have them - I used celery & carrots off my veggie tray.

Pour all in crockpot in the morning and cook on low.
Half hour before serving, stir in a package of fresh ravioli or tortolleni from the market, and top with parmesan. In half an hour, dig in! Bagged salad makes it a meal.
