So, our first child is on the way! For some reason, this has made me want to start pin collecting!
I have no idea where to start.
Do I get a notebook type thing, or a lanyard? Any good starter sets anywhere?
Thanks in advance! :thumbsup2

My son ( age 12) , daughter (age 6 ) and hubby ( age40+) collect pins, They have lanyards. My son has 2. They are fun to collect...I don't collect myself but have fun helping them choose new pins. I ordered some off of ebay and got about 12 for under $5.00. They were all very good pins. just look at your sellers feedback scores to pick a goo seller. Then you can use those pins as "trader pins". You can trade with cast members and other pin collectors. It is a fun hobby! And, it's not really expensive if you don't go over board all at once and get a lanyard full of pins in 1 day...have fun and congrats on the new baby!!

I would definitely read Good/Bad ebay sellers tread within this board. It will give you a lot of good advice.

When I started, I bought $200 worth of pins and lanyards in Frontierland. I got 2 lanyards and a few starter sets (I think they were the babies, the muppets with Mickey hats, and the pirate babies.) I had a BLAST trading and I'm a grown woman! I even got my mom into it.

For me it all started by purchasing NBC LE's online at Disneyshopping.com. Then after a few visits to Disneyland I realized I had quite a few Star Wars, and Belle.
I started displaying them on a regualar office cork board I decorated with Disney scrap book stuff and then graduated to framed display boxes.

NOW, because I too exploded onto the Disney scene with the birth of my son (now 3) I love all his movies- so all the Pixar guys are a must!.

DON'T DO IT!! :yay: IT NEVER ENDS ;)
