Our family spent 2/16-2/19/01 at an offsite "resort" (yea right) and we were able to spend alot of time with friends who are DVC members that were staying at OKW. Our kids (13 & 7) absolutely fell in love with the pools at OKW during a visit to our friends OKW "home" one evening. We were very impressed with the apartment they were staying in. Curious, the wife and I asked questions about the club and decided to take take the info tour at BWV the day before we left. Our sales guide (Edwin Rivera) was as informative as they come and the fact that he presented the DVC with absolutely no sales hype or pressure led to a great experience. Well, 20 minutes into the presentation we were SOLD.
During the next week, we read up on DVC, followed the posts, and called the Quality Assurance Advisors a couple of times for clarifications. Well, we found nothing to hold us back and promptly signed the papers and sent the check. We are now looking forward to years of wonderful vacations. We have already made plans for a late August trip and can hardly wait to hear them say when we arrive..."Welcome Home"

Someone finally posting something postive about our pools at our home resort (OKW)
Like I said in another post, some of the bad things people post about OKW you'd think it was a concentration camp where you can't escape after 9 PM and they knock the pools like they're cement ponds.

Ann, we did buy at the VWL as that was the only one currently being sold. We will be staying there in late Aug and thinking of tying in a couple of days at Vero.
normr, believe me, it was OKW that sold the wife and I. Our friends "home" was extremely well maintained and the pools and pool areas were spotless. We figured if Disney can keep property up to that caliber, we were gonna buy. We LOVED OKW. After a long day in the park, my kids only want to relax in the pool before calling it a night. Your fortunate if you have points there. We are soooooooo glad we made the visit to our friends during their stay. Looking forward to years of enjoyment!

Fortunately, our home of OKW is still easier to get into at the 7 month window than some of the others, so maybe we will see you there too!

Congrats and Welcome Home. There is no comparison between off-site and on-site (even comparing the All-Star to most off-site hotels, just because it is Disney). The DVC resorts are worlds apart from the off-site hotels. You won't regret the decision to buy.
