Well we have our dining connected with Michelle - thanks Michelle. So DH asked me what else we needed to plan besides excursions. Everything should be taken care of, right?
Well, if I had stopped visiting these boards (and getting e-mail from Michelle) I never would have known the secret porthole was available.
And Im sure between now and the next 16 wks there will be more tips too.
thank you everyone

You have forgotten 1 of the most important things to consider.
When will you book the next cruise??? You must plan ahead....LOL

Good question and Ive already thought it out.
Since we are DVCers, before we leave on for our cruise we can book our next Disney vaca. So coming off that ship I'll know we are going back to see the mouse.
Not sure when the next cruise is - DH actually wants to go on a cruiseline that has gambling. (oh no!)

Well you could be a psychotic planner like myself and spend countless hours on these boards & Barb & Tonys site. You could go over and over the menus and pick out what you want to eat each night. You could go over you wardrobe to see what you are wearing each day(bikinis in the beginning, looser clothes toward the end of the cruise). You could take into account the different dining rotations and decide which night you will do Palos(1st and 2nd choice) depending on which rotation you do get. You could memorize the deck plans of the ship. You could watch the planning video and read the brochure over and over. You could go over the sample Navigators and make tentative plans of what you would like to do, when you could fit in spa time or excursions. .....But that would just be silly to do all that stuff. ;)
Seriously, that stuff did help us to an extent and it was fun. You could also read trip reports. Not only does it get you excited but you may come up with some questions from hearing real experiences.

My opinion is that you would be taking a big gamble on any other cruise line !!!!

CamColt,
Hey...your not alone....I have to chill out 'cause I am driving myself crazy! It is just so hard to not think about going...ok 24 hrs a day! (we are going Nov 30)
Barb, I have been on other cruise lines if you pick wisely
you should be ok! Some times you have to throw them a bone, just don't make a habit out of it. Ha Ha.

Hey jlmcantwait! We are also on the November 30th cruise. I knew that imgoingtodisney and michelle were going, but I don't think I knew that you were. Tell me about your family. We are DH40, me36, DD5.5, DS4.

Yup, we'll be there too! It's me(38), DH(37), DD(10), DS(7), DD's Friend (11) and my parents!
I'm particularly interested in finding any other 7yo boys who will be on that cruise. DD will have a friend along but DS desperately wants to find some buddies! :D

Nice to hear that you have a 4 yo. My son will be 4 less than 2 months after the cruise, so they are about the same age. We will have to keep in touch, so that they can be friends at the club, as I too have grand plans of the kids loving it, and giving us some adult time.

Jlm, dont worry. That will be here before you know it. And all the fun planning does help to make it go by. We had our trip booked 1 1/2 years in advance and I thought it would never come. This was a BIG trip for us since it was our first since our honeymoon without our kids. I thought I would explode waiting! But it finally came (and went:( ) and was absolutely wonderful! Wait until the last week or so, you cant stop thinking about it!!!

Hey Camcolt,
We are in Wakefield, right next door. Small world huh? Glad to know that I am not alone. I am obsessed with planning our cruise. Not going until January but I already have most of our clothes bought and all the extras are ready to go.
Too bad we aren't going on the same cruise.

Nedleycan,
Sure, we'd love to have you on our MA residents cruise. Actually, my father in law is originally from NB Canada so you might as well be family!
Anyone else from MA?

Well, we don't live in MA (although we used to and both DH and I went to college in MA). We're only the second town in from the MA/CT border though, so we're close. Oh, and DH works up in Marlboro!
