I LOVE LOVE LOVE planning trips to Disney.... I make about 20 lists per trip, all saying the same thing. What to pack, our reservation times, etc. My DH got so tired of my lists he put in on the computer for me.... but I still make them:lmao:. So how many lists do you make?

I love planning! We're not going until November and I've already started with the lists. Before we go, I print out snack credit locations, options for CS restaurants, menus, daily touring plans, FP strategies, etc. etc. etc. ;) Not that we follow everything to the letter, have to leave room for changes, but every morning while I'm having my coffee in the room (I can't sleep late on vacation, I'm too excited), I go over the daily plan and pack the file card of the day in my backpack. I drive people in my family insane. :rotfl:

THis is hilarious to me!! I LOVE lists. I already have three separate packing lists going and my next trip isn't til August  I sometimes think I must be truly crazy. At least I know I have company.

I am always planning everything. I love to have an idea of what and where and when, all the time. :)
It saves time too. I think I will transfer my current lists (I have 2 or 3) to the PC, so that I can update and cut and paste menus and all, LOL! My hubby doesn't like that I love to plan everything, but is greatful, when he has a question and I already know the answer. :cutie:

That is great my husband has made a daily list of what parks and I had made all the dinner reservations from there he has coordinated what times we should go to each ride and which ones to get fast passes for. He has teased me that we are going to have laminated cards for each day!

I have a packing list for the trip and a packing list for the day we're at the Magic Kingdom. I have a schedule with a prioritized list of what middle daughter wants to do, and a list of what we both want to do sorted by land (Main Street, Adventureland, etc.). I have a list of MK treats we want to try, and one of things at the monorail resorts to check out should we decide to take a mid-day break. I have a list of the "live" events we want to see with what I hope will be their times (most of them are non-posted so who knows...). And I have a "supplies" list, which is stuff I want to buy here before we go, and another list of stuff I want to buy in Orlando before we hit WDW.

Umm can one of y'all make a list on where to get a laminate-r? I'd have absolutely NO IDEA how to laminate my lists! Mine are all still on the pc...My date is getting closer T - 11 and counting!! My rides list and things to do keeps changing periodically...I keep plugging different scenarios into the ridemax planner thingamajig...

I'm SOOOO jealous of the poster whose husband helps with the lists... Whenever I start to talk to my DH about the plans for our trip, his eyes just kinda glaze over...he even REFUSED to look at the menus of the restaurants before we get there... MEN!!:sad2:

ummm well let's see :rolleyes1 I am at it all the time! Especially when our trip gets closer I constantly grab a pen and paper and make a brand new list. When I read something on the DIS, I run and jot it down ASAP!

My husband gets really annoyed. Plus before we go to bed I grab my "LISTS" and go over them at night. ;)

Torianne31, you can buy "laminating" sheets at Target or Walmart. It's about the size of a sheet protector, and it's like two pieces of that laminating plastic, and one of them is sticky. So you just press them together and BOOM-instant laminated cards. Have fun on your next trip!!

Good lord, I thought you had to have a machine... :rotfl: Hmm.. wondering if laminating our tickets after signing them would be a good idea. That would keep them from getting all icky after checking into multiple parks (we have hopper tickets) and being brought out for fast passes. Has anyone ever tried this before?

omg.. I am giggling so hard right now... I'm going to Target a little later today to pick up travel size toiletries... gonna get the laminating sheets so I can laminate my itineraries / lists from Ridemax, my lists of restaurants and my list of things I want to do at Downtown Disney.... DH is going to have a duck when he sees that!!! He is DEFINITELY not a list person.. nor an avid planner like me...:rotfl2:

I think I need to go to list makers annonymous.:rotfl2: I make lists for everything. I am in list heaven right now because I have to plan this trip once if my grandson and daughter go or a second if they stay home and my younger daughter takes a friend. LIST LIST LIST:rotfl: I love making them twice.:cool1:

But I will be at WDW July 9 either way:banana::banana::banana:

I have my what to pack list that is broken down into carry on and checked luggage and then what has been packed already, my what to buy before I leave list, my what needs to be done before leaving list, my what to buy while I'm there list, my dining list, my park hours list, and of course my plans for the days lists. So that's nine lists all contained in a Disney notebook written with a Disney pen because Disney plans can't be written any other way!

Hi my name is Sharron and I have planning obsession problem! I can't wait to plan our trips. It is part of the fun. Well at least for me. I think my dh is so tired of hearing about my planning and thinks it's a little much! But for some reason he really sees how it all pays off once we are packing and in the park! :cheer2: Here is a short list of my lists. :lmao: 1. Packing list is broken down many list of toilteries list, park bag list, food list, carry-on list, and each person gets a clothing list. 2. is our must see list 3. is my garden grocer list 3. things to do list before we leave 4. Shopping list with an envelope of coupons for our pre-trip shopping list! I think that is it for now but I will probably come up with more list to fill my Disney spiral! :rotfl2:

Happy Planning to all!

Oooo lists! lol
While I'm planning, I have a million! I end up with one list for each day which has my plan for the park, a list of CS restaurants we like, and important phone numbers, like lost and found, and our resort. I add in some cute Disney clipart, and voila!
I also have a packing list, which I separate into "carry-on" or "checked."
My trip is in May, so I have my park plans finished...just have to print them off, and yes, laminate them, but I haven't started my packing list, yet.

I'm a freak when it comes to everything Disney. Making lists and planning helps me between trips. And they really do ensure we have all we need and dont forget anything. I actually have a Disney binder that use for every trip. Having past trips information can come in handy. Enjoy!

117 days and yes I have started packing.

I have a couple of lists:
- List of things to pack, with a column to mark things that I need to buy.
- Park Schedule List (List with park hours & EMH for when we're there, crowd calendar info by day with parks to avoid/ideally visit & our tenative park schedule)
- List of our family's 'To Do' priorities for each park attractions etc. (Will eventually use to create our own Touring Plans on Touringplans.com)
- List Dining Reservations
- List of random tips I like when surfing disboards etc. so I don't forget!!

OMG I can't believe I forgot my other list. I have travel plan sheet, ADR sheet, and our itinerary with park hours and shows (thank you steve soares), and of course our must hit list in the parks! I think Disney needs to pay my therapist for fueling my Type A, Compulsive Obsessive behavior! :rotfl2:

I love how their are other people out there like me!

I have individual lists for each thing I put in the van (suitcase, stained glass back for my on-the-road stuff, picnic basket, cooler, etc.), and then another list of things that go in the van to make sure they all come along. I was sick once the day we were leaving (we knew what was going on but I was supposed to be taking it easy), and hubby insisted that he and the kids would pack; they didn't bring the toiletries bag, meaning none of us had swimsuits.

Before we go I have a list of things to print out. For Disney I'm doing bunches of maps I've found on the Internet - WDW, the Magic Kingdom, Tom Sawyer's Island, bunches of Robo's maps, some resort maps, etc. - along with "hidden" things to look for and the like. And of course Steve Soare's Live Events schedule. :cool1: Of course there's no possible way we're going to see and do everything, but it's fun to dream. ;)

I can't believe I'm going to admit this...

I create a list for everything that's packed in my carry-on and where in the carry-on to find it.

There. I did it. I admitted probably my most obsessively crazy list that I create for Disney. And I create a bunch of them, this one just takes the cake!

And I'm sooooo glad I found you crazy people too - otherwise, I'd just sit around wondering if I should be committed or not. :)

I don't make numerous lists, but I did make one long list. I brought it to work, photocopied it, and stapled all the copies together. It will now be kept in my carry-on. Each trip I will cross off each thing as I pack it and throw away the list used on each vacation. If I think of anything I left off the list I'll just write it in on each copy.

I have a list here by my computer, and after a while, I will take that list and put it in my Disney bag. Then, I will start another one or two. After several lists are in my bag, I will condense and put them where they need to be in my Disney binder, with dividers... plus, in that binder, I will have a list of other things that I need to do or double check on what I have done. I also make a list of what is in my suitcase, color style and approx. cost:) Just a little side, I usually go NO where without some type of list. I just went away for 2 days, and I had a large list of items IF I saw them I should buy....amazing what lists do for us huh??? If I didn't have the big list this past weekend, I would have missed a great sale in the Disney outlet.....so, keep those lists and enjoy the time in planning and then finally able to reap our plans....

I have a spreadsheet with many, many tabs. Using a spreadsheet allows me to easily carry information forward from trip to trip. I just copy the last spreadsheet and rename the new one for our next trip. I have separate spreadsheets per trip. It's a great reminder/souvenir of each trip.

Spreadsheet tabs:

packing list, one column per person plus one column for items used by everybody
wegoshop grocery list
pricing options (all my different Mickey Math for the trip)
park schedules including park colours (it's a TourGuide Mike thing)
Daily itinerary (column headers are date, am, pm, hours, ADR info, notes)
a tab per park containing daily touring plans; each day at a park gets a different column)
Epcot World Showcase time chart
Allergy food (a list of safe foods and where in each park I can find them; both my kids have multiple food allergies)
QS locations by park where we can get allergy safe food including which foods are available at each location

I laminate the ones that I bring to parks or will be looking over frequently. I just use packing tape for the laminating since I have a boatload of it at home.

To the person who asked about laminating your tickets, I'd be careful about that. I'm not sure if that'll affect the ticket's scanning ability. You don't want to have headaches at the gate every day.

I have self diagnosed DOCD - Dysfunctional Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.

I make so many lists and they have really good information, except I can never remember to carry my lists with me, so I just start a new one. So now I have around 20 lists with 2 or 3 things on them scattered everywhere. In my house, car, office, near the TV or computer. I once made a list on my hand cause I couldn't find paper - completely dysfunctional. :goodvibes

I had a dream just last night that I was leaving for my Disney trip in a few hours and had not packed a thing for me or my children. I was in a panic because I could not find my list of things to pack and I was forgetting everything important. But I remember vividly running throught the house frantic cause I couldn't find my zip loc bags - HA!!!! :scared1: I woke up at 5:30 and started compiling the lists and put them next to my computer...

Did I mention I'm not leaving until September?? :rolleyes1

Those of us that make lists on the computer....it's fun to color code them! You type your whole list in red, Waltograph font of course. As you finish or are ready to cross an item off--you can highligt the text and change the font to green. If an item is in progress you can highlight and change the font to bold. I of course got this idea from another DIS-er!:goodvibes

There is a whole thread about this in the theme park attrations and strategies section. It's a program you download for 90 days for about $19 that lets you imput which rides you want to do on a certain day and it gives you an itenerary for the day..ride order, etc. I used it last summer and I am using it this summer

My whole computer screen has sticky notes on the wallpaper (14 to be exact :rolleyes1) about disney stuff. I also have packing lists, adrs, ridemax list, etc. I also keep to do lists for my everyday things as well...

I colour code some things but not in the way you're saying (though great idea; I think I'll colour the tabs like this indicating the progress of the planning of that sheet as well as what's been printed).

My daily touring plans are colour coded by activity type (show, ride, character greeting, dining, break). My list of WS attraction times is colour coded by type as well (attraction (movie or ride), holiday storyteller (obviously only over Christmas), character greeting, performance). Planning using TGM I obviously have my park hours worksheet colour coded based on TGM defined colours.

Where do I download Waltograph? I'd LOVE to have that font. I suppose I could just google it. I didn't know the name of font before. I think I'll do that tonight. :goodvibes

Sorry, I didn't see your question earlier! Ridemax is an itinerary planner. You enter what day and time you are going to be at which park (start time and finish time). It populates a list of all the rides and shows at that particular park. You pick only the ones you want to do. Hit enter and it gives you an itinerary of what rides to hit at what times, what fast passes to get, how long it will take to walk to the attraction and how long the wait is expected to be. You can even plan break times which is GREAT because my husband is diabetic and eats every three hours. It's 18.95 for a 3 month subscription. I kept tweaking my itinerary by little bits until it was "perfect". I also have an alternate itinerary for if we miss rope drop and sleep late. :) I'm DYING to see if it works.... I'll keep you posted! :woohoo:

I make some two sided, credit card size with grids on excel cards for each day. I keep them as simple as I can. Here's what I put on them.

Day of week an date
Opening/closing time and park, I already know where I'm going each day.
The parade show times
ADR place and res#/ flight time, hotel res#
The estimated cost of my meal and tip schedule base on those amounts
The weather

On the back I put tips or notes.

Where to watch a parade
Bonus targets on TSMM or Buzz
Photopass poses/locations
Where to sit on rides, back front, left right.

I also make and take a master spread sheet with all the open and close times and show times in case I change things while there. It also has the ADRs in case I loose one of my cards. On this I repeat the tip schedules. It helps me budget because I always take cash to tip so the servers won't get taxed on it.

Just for at home, I make a packing list that I can check off as I get stuff in the suitcase.

I also make a master spread sheet with all my flight tim
