I don't even know where to start! Thanks to the generosity of my in-laws, we are going to DisneyWorld this September!!!! :cool1: And I get to do the planning (or did I just take over...?), which I love. What a magical escape for my li'l OCD self!

I was pleasantly surprised to see that I'm actually a little late starting my PTR, compared to some. I've been planning since around Christmas, but only recently found these boards. I am blown away by all the expertise here!

So, part of my posting here is to share my obsession - I need an outlet for discussing Disney other than DH - and more importantly, to get feedback about our plans! I'd love to hear suggestions from those who have BTDT.

I really am so impressed with the other reports here, and though I *thought* I was fairly tech-saavy, I don't know how to do half of what most posters are doing (pics, links, etc). At this point, this will be a super-simple PTR. I'll try for a similar style as others I've read, and I'll do my best to entertain -- if nothing else, you can laugh at my planning attempts and obsessing and fretting over the silliest little details. :scared:

Next up: who am I? and who are my trip-planning victims? - ahem - I mean, family members?

I'm Sarah, 32. I'm a full-time social worker outside the home, and a full-time mom (and sometimes social worker, it seems!) in the home. I appreciate having my job, and many days I appreciate the job itself. I work in addictions, which means difficult clients; in addition, I'm a supervisor, which means difficult counselors! Really, though, the counselors and other staff make my workplace such fun; with a positive work environment, we can model recovery for our clients.

Like many, I'm constantly conflicted about spending 40+ hours a week away from my sweet kiddos. But it keeps me fresh as a mom and keeps us from over-stressing about $$. We all make choices that are right for us and our families.

And speaking of choices... we are currently selling our house. Well, I wouldn't go so far as to say that there is any actual selling going on quite yet. Our house is on the market. By choice. Our stupid, stupid choice. No, really. I have to remind myself daily that it does make sense for us to do this. DH and I both commute 40 minutes each way 5-6 days a week. 2 cars - that's a lot of gas, $, and TIME! Our poor boys are in the car so much; they are angels about it, but I'd rather have time to play in the backyard with them instead of singing so many car-songs! So, we'd like to move closer to where we work; it also happens to be a town we love and lived in for 5 years. Also closer to DH's family. But with all the real estate stress, this is such a fun break for me!

Aaaaand back to DH and the boys: DH is Chris, 34. That's probably all he wants me to "say" about him. I could really say whatever I want, since he'll likely never read this. he rarely uses the computer, and only recently did I convince him to keep his cell phone charged and with him in case of emergencies. He is my love, and puts up with my computer addiction and more recent Disney-planning obsession

I have 2 little boys, G and O. I'll probably use their names later, but in deference to DH's suspicion of all things tech-y, I'll protect their anonymity a bit.

G is 4 years old. Amazingly smart and adorable. Eyelashes so long they get tangled. He loves space and science experiments (the messier, the better) and any kind of learning. Questions galore, like any 4 year old. :)

O is 2 years old. Wonderful, precious 2 year old! Where G is more reserved, O is balls-out wild and carefree. And I don't say "balls-out" just to be crass: "Running naked" is his favorite activity. We've managed to make it work for us, limiting his RN time to after dinner, when it's time to get ready for bath anyway. As long as he stays decent in the grocery store...

And wanting to stay even more anonymous than my DH, I'll introduce DMIL, DFIL, and DSIL. I should really say "Dear Fairy God-MIL"!!! :wizard:
She watched the boys during the week, and I owe her ... more than words can say, really. So, among many many other wonderful things she has done/does for us, she and Chris' dad gave all of us this trip for Christmas. Allright, the trip is really for the kids, but they DO need chaperones. Us grown-ups aren't excited at all... :rolleyes1

DFIL and DSIL also get to spend a lot of time with us and the boys. G and O absolutely ADORE them all. We are all relative Disney virgins. I went when I was 12, then again for a work conference 5 years ago. Never have we planned a family trip like this! Well, they aren't doing much of the planning at this point. And if they knew all the research I do nightly, well, :rotfl: they would question my sanity!!

Next time, I'll cover the When and Where!!

And *duh!* I forgot to mention G and O's current Disney-loves!

They both watch Playhouse Disney and love The Fab Five and Pluto. We also like Pooh, Handy Manny and Imagination Movers.
As far as Disney/Pixar movies, they like Toy Story, Cars, the Incredibles, and Nemo. G also likes Sleeping Beauty, Fox and Hound, Little Mermaid, and Aladdin - and Tinkerbell! I'm planning to introduce them to more of the classic movies over the summer - G has already said that "maybe" he'd be excited to meet a princess :flower3:

But lately, thanks to friends, he's been asking to see Star Wars. Ah, I think I'm still adjusting to my life with boys! We watched Snow White a couple weeks ago, and they were thoroughly bored by it. Meanwhile, I was riveted and "taken back" to my childhood. DH reminded me that I'm a *girl* :cutie: Maybe I'll have better luck with Cinderella...

The more major loves for them are Wall-e and Phineas and Ferb. I don't know that we'll get to see much of them at DHS, but by September, who knows?

And I'm debating whether or not to break the news to O that the castle at MK belongs to Cinderella, and not Mickey. To him, that is Mickey's House! Needless to say, they are both Super thrilled to be going to visit Mickey! :mickeyjum And DH and I are Super grateful for the pixiedust: from his sweet parents!

I have a 3 year old that can't stand clothes either, no inhibition, loves to run out to greet her father when he gets home in the nude. I am waiting for the cops! I love planning Disney trips, too, and I am getting ready to start my PTR, if for no other reason than to talk to myself about it and give poor Dh a break!

I'm going in Sept too!!! What are you dates? We're going from Sept 22-29th. This will be my 10th trip, my DH's 5th trip and our DD's 4th trip. I'd love to help you with anything you need. I'm a Disney nut and I'm so happy to have these boards so I don't drive my DH crazy!!!! Come check out my PTR if you'd like!!!

:rotfl: Just yesterday, our little guy escaped out the front door in all his Glory! DH was all embarrassed, but I'm pretty used to it now, and I figure most other families in my neighborhood have gone through this same thing. I love reading all these PTRs - I'll look for yours! Thanks for reading mine so far. I've gone quite Dis-crazy, so I'll be posting another update soon (like, the actual plan part!)

Thanks for reading! I've actually already been "studying" your PTR ;)
I'm usually more of a lurker, but the Disney magic has gotten to me! I couldn't resist joining in on yours, and starting my own! I'd love to hear any feedback you've got, once I post my plans. We'll just miss you guys, though! We'll be there 9/15 -20. I can't believe this will be your 10th trip!!! :worship: I can't wait to learn more from you!

(I'm already learning more about how to post things on this board - I actually have a signature now!)

:lmao: My girls always loved to run around naked when they were little. They've managed to outgrow it ;)

Can't wait to hear more about your trip! I too use the boards to satisfy my need to talk about Disney - my hubby can only handle so much!

While I have a few more minutes before naptime ends, I figured I'd post the very basic where/whens! This is a better alternative than sneaking some ice cream before my kids wake up (but more about my need to get in shape for the trip later...).

We are flying into MCO from Maryland on Wednesday, Sept. 15. Our flight gets in at 12:15pm, and we'll take ME to our 2 bedroom at Beach Club Villas (!!!).
DH, DS4, DS2, and I will share the 2nd bedroom; MIL, FIL will be in the master, and SIL will be on the pull-out in the living room.

We have the basic DDP for the 5 nights we'll be there, and park tickets for 6 days with park hopper.

We leave (not that I want to think about leaving!) Monday, Sept. 20 at 3:10. So, I figure we'll be getting on ME around noon that day.

We are all relatively inexperienced Disney-goers. My MIL still talks about the family trip they took when my DH was 11-ish. Through gritted teeth, she tells me that he and his cousins spent the whole time in the arcade in the hotel and didn't care a lick about the parks! :rotfl2:
So, really, I'm lucky she is brave enough to give this another try!

I went when I was about 12 with my younger sister and our mom. We had a GREAT time (and I remember having fun planning that trip, too, though with less technological resources!).

The magic had not worn off when I went for a work conference about 5 years ago. I got the chance to visit Epcot and DHS briefly during that trip, and loved it as much as when I was 12 :cutie:

I got sooooo motion sick on Mission Space, though, and pouted b/c I was too sick to ride Test Track:sick:
I'm a nerd at heart, and Epcot will always be my favorite park. (Luckily, I married a nerd, and my oldest is on the right track already!) But this time, Green track for MIssion Space, please!

With this being my first time going with little ones, along with all 5 of us adults with childhood fantasies to live out, I'm really studying hard and working a lot on strategy. I figure the more info and prep work I have done, the more relaxed and easy I can make the trip for everyone! Ideally, I'd love for my family to not even realize all the strategy involved in touring the parks.

Next post: our daily plans. How we are throwing caution to the wind and going to the UG's "worst" parks almost every day. :scared: Oh, I mean: :cool2: We're just rebels like that...

Don't worry about going to parks on UG's "worst days". We do it all the time! We've survived and we've had a great time. We've gone in the middle of the summer (busy season) and we've been able to do everything we wanted at the so-called "worst park". By using EMH and FP's the right way, a "worst day" can be a "best day".

Thanks for checking out my PTR. I tend to ramble a little bit! :rotfl:

I really want to go research and read some more of all your pre-trip and completed-trip posts to get tips, but first I need to get some of my thoughts OUT of my head and into the computer!

I've also decided that I need to put some pics up here! There's no denying it's more fun to read these PTRs when you "know" who's writing. DH can deal with it, right? So, I'll do that as soon as I can get some decent ones loaded (and figure out how to!)

SO, these thoughts of mine are about the topics I want to be sure and cover in this PTR. Don't know how to link "chapters" and all that fancy stuff (yet ;)) so for now this is just a list. There's so many details I want to write about so I can get all your great feedback :goodvibes

I think this will more or less be the order:

Day-by-Day park schedule
Expand on that with ADRs I have already scheduled (and keep tweaking!)
Making the best use of our kitchen
Other resort tips/details (BCV)
Stroller Strategies
Park Bag (this involves shopping, so I'm really looking forward to it)
Packing/wardrobe/shoes
Incorporating each person's "must do" activities

----and I'm sure I'll come up with other stuff as I read more. I'm sure I'm walking a fine line between info/planning overload and relaxed fun-time. I want to know just enough to make educated decisions, but I don't want to stress out if someone suggests a little sponteneity!

On a side note, I'm currently sitting in my car, across the street from my house. My 2 large doggies in the car with me. I sent DH away with the boys. This is the second time in two days we've done this drill, 4th or so time altogether, and I feel wacky every time. An agent scheduled a showing of our house today. Mercifully, it's for a one-hour time slot rather than 2. I must look like some hacker stalking people's wireless connections! At least I have snacks popcorn::

Uploading photos and such really isn't that hard. I use photobucket to upload all of my pics. I don't wish to take over your PTR, so feel free to PM me with any questions. I can tell you how to post chapter links and such as well. :goodvibes

Your PTR "outline" looks great!

I did it! Here I am last year at the beach. This is Oliver, my youngest. He was a few months shy of 2 when this was taken.

Ok now that I'm breaking out of my messageboard shell, I'll hunt for more fun pics. Lord help my poor sister if I get my printer fixed and can scan in some of our pics from my first Disney trip! :rotfl2:

And another of sweet Oliver, this time all grown up at 2 yrs old, at Easter this year

...And, I figured I'd sneak one in of DH Chris  He's just too hunky to pass up

So there we are! I'll still leave the in-laws out of this, since I don't think they'd want all this fame and publicity. I do hope this makes it more fun to read about my crazy life until Disney comes along to make everything allll better!

I popped over from my PTR to read your's! Your little boys sound cute! How did you ever survive three (years old)? That is what it feels like today anyways. :lmao: It has just been one of those days, so bear with me! I am glad to see our date overlap a bit!

:woohoo: for BCV! I would like to stay there some day. :goodvibes:

We LOVE  EP--it is mine and DH's favorite park though we did not spend as much time at MK during our only trip to Disney thus far. Oh boy, is that ever going to change this go around. I am right there with you--love researching and figuring out our trip stuff! I probably border along those lines of too much planning (especially if you ask my DH ;) ) but I like to do it! :goodvibes:

Love the pictures--TFS! Your boys are cuties :) Do you live close to the ocean? My DD would love to be closer since she fell in love with the ocean in August this past year. Still talks about it!

Looking forward to reading along. popcorn::

Thanks to all who are following!! I've been crazy this week with work and, actually, updating this darn computer! It took hours last night! Updated to a new version of my iPod, then it was too advanced for iTunes, then all that was too advanced for my internet browser. Sheesh! True test of my internet addiction  So I've been really eager to respond to you guys. :goodvibes This is really the first time I've ever "connected" with folks via a message board, and what a neat welcome you all have given! :grouphug: I think I picked the right crowd -- Disneyfans are great!

Hi, thanks for reading!
Heehee! I feel the same about a little girl. I never would have thought that I'd be a boy-mom after growing up around all girls (cousins and all), but here I am! LOVE my boys, but some days I wander through the girl's clothes section of the store and dream...
But, I think we're sticking with 2, so... we'll try to avoid *that* Disney magic !!!:rolleyes1
I would love to hear about your BCV experience! I'll be posting about all my crazy little detailed questions related to the resort :)
PS - LOVE the Doofenshmirtz quote!!! P & F is on several times a day in our house :)

Glad you're reading along, and back at'cha :)
We don't live near the beach (I wish!!); we're in western Maryland. Pretty, more mountain/lake territory.

Hope you made it through your challenging day! Whoever said the "twos" were terrible hadn't gotten to the "threes" yet...:scared1:
And they can change so much, part of my planning is based on trying to predict how the boys will "be" by September: what schedule will they tolerate, what will they be most interested in by then, etc...!

I WILL get to the next part of my PTR soon, I promise! I probably won't get to it this weekend; I may be without my computer most of the time :scared: but I may not be able to stay away...!

I can't wait to get some feedback on our Days at Disney! Can we make it to MK on arrival day?! Are we insane to try AK in half a day?! Stay tuned to see what the plan is (and then the revised plan, and the next revised plan, and...) :rotfl:

Ok, I've grabbed a few minutes of quiet computer time - yipee!

The Itinerary*
as it stands right now...

Wednesday 9/15: Arrival Day

:) ME to BCV, get there possibly as late as 2 or so (flight arrives 12:15)

:) See room if it's available, otherwise, leave extra carryons at hotel desk and do one of two things -
1) meander through Epcot using International Gateway. Make our way up to monorail when it's time to head to 5:30 ADR at Chef Mickey for dinner.
2) bus directly to MK and spend a little time in Fantasyland (?) before walking or monorail to Chef Mickey.

:) After dinner, depending on energy levels, we'd head straight home to BCV or go to MK for Wishes at 8:00

Thursday 9/16:

:) Early hours at MK - be there as close to 8 as we can be!

:) Break mid-day for naps.

:) Either 1) return to MK for more fun, QS dinner, and Spectromagic Parade and fireworks (this is our best/maybe only night for parade)

or 2) head to Epcot for Future world and ADR at Garden Grill. If we do Epcot, we could get really crazy and still monorail to MK just for the parade and fireworks, but I think I'd rather pick one or the other and not do all that running around.

Friday 9/17:

:) Animal Kingdom rope drop

:) Break mid-day for naps after QS lunch at Flame Tree

:) Epcot: FW, then ADR at Teppan Edo (DH's only request!), then WS and Illuminations before bed

:) Some grown-ups may return for late-night EMH at Epcot sans kids :cloud9:

Saturday 9/18:

:) DHS, morning EMH

:) long morning there before heading home for break/nap

:) afternoon/evening at hotel -- SAB!!! and ADR at Cape May for dinner

Sunday 9/19:

:) Possible b'fast ADR at Cape May, 9:00 am. Head to Epcot or DHS, if we want to do more there (??)

:) Break mid-day

:) Spend our last evening in MK, with ADR at Crystal Palace for dinner. Wishes is at 8:00. MK is open until midnight, so we could let the kids go wild and stay up late.

Monday 9/20:

:( Our flight leaves at 3:10 pm, so we'll plan to board ME around noon. Might have time for something close-by at Epcot? or pool!

You can see, I'm uncertain about the plans so far! I can go into more detail about our actual plans for each park - what we want to do there. For example, I've only allotted a long 1/2 day each for AK and DHS. I think that will be ok for AK, but we may want to return to DHS. And with only 4 full days, it was hard to get pool time, which we really wanted - especially with having SAB.

I would LOVE suggestions, feedback, ideas, thoughts, etc!! I've done lots of research and reading, but nothing compares to real peoples' real experiences. :worship:

I've also overbooked a TS, to choose between the Garden Grill dinner or the Cape May b'fast.

I think for my next major entry, since I already wrote here about our ADRs, I'll go through our "must do" attractions for each park. That may help with getting an idea about how much time we'll need, and you can give me an idea about things I'm missing!

Thanks for following!! :) I am still a bit in shock myself that we're staying at BCV. And I wasn't even trying to trick my DMIL into it (I swear! :rolleyes1) - we talked about connecting rooms at all the types of resorts. But in the end, she really liked the option of having a kitchen. I REALLY love that it's an Epcot resort. I'm just hoping that all the boys love Epcot as much as I do. At any rate, it's the best food!

How fun that we may cross paths in the park. :goodvibes
That was the one part of my itinerary that I felt strongly about - spending our last night at MK. Coincidentally, my youngest has become attached to a big Tigger stuffed animal this past week, so Crystal Palace will be even more fun if he stays a Pooh/Tigger fan!

And I wish I could take credit for the photos! My DMIL is a-mazing with her camera. We have never had a need or desire for professional portraits of our boys! :worship:

Muaaaaahahahahaaaaaaa! *evil laugh*

I've got a couple pics from my first trip to Disney when I was 12. Me, my sister, and mom. I was shocked to see that I was sporting a fanny pack! :scared1:

And I also don't remember being into getting autographs, but my sis said that we really loved finding the characters. Back then, it was a little competition between us to spot them first, just wandering in the park. Doesn't seem like that happens too much now! Until I started planning this trip, I didn't realize that the character meetings have become so "organized"!

So, since she'll NEVER see this :rotfl2:, here are some old pics:

http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47a0da39b3127ccef9b171e3426600000030O08CZs2rZw1cA9 vPgw/cC/f%3D0/ps%3D50/r%3D0/rx%3D720/ry%3D480/ I'm the tall one :) We had great fun planning that trip too. Note the strategic fanny packs and bathing suits (for wet rides? We may have been going to Typhoon Lagoon that day, too)

From what I read, Cape May is better than Garden Grill but it is all based on personal preference. Your itinerary looks great to me :thumbsup2 The only thing would be later nights followed by early mornings be rough on you?

Hi! Yes, the Disboards are amazing. I found them last year when I was planning my first trip to Disney as an adult.

Your title piqued my interest, as my son (age 3) is all about Mickey's Clubhouse right now. That is an understatment. He is obsessed. And I think he has a crush on Daisy! :rotfl:

I am super interested in your plans, as my trip last year was just my husband and I. We have tentative plans for February 2011! Reading through some of your info, I'm already starting to get scared about planning it!

Great PTR, so far! And don't worry about lag time between posts...I did (most) of a dining report and it took months...MUCH longer than I had thought it would. :scared1:

Meeting up could be fun! And thanks for the feedback about the late nights/early days. I'm going to go back and look at my plans to see how we might need to adjust. I think our first night, especially, it would be a good idea to get to bed early, head "home" right after dinner.

Glad you're reading :) And boy, am I living up to quite some lag time so far!

Yes, my title came from my youngest son, 2, who loooovees Mickey. I am trying to break the news to him that he might hear people saying that the castle at MK is Cinderella's, not Mickey's. :scared: No crushes yet!

And I hope I'm not scaring you too much! There is just so much thinking and planning when you travel with small kids -- especially when you're planning in advance. Kids change so quickly, it's hard to predict what they'll be "into" or capable of so many months from now. Not to mention their nap/sleep schedule!

That's why I think this board helps so much - I can blab on and on about all these thoughts running through my mind and there are others who actually Get It!

On the Update front:

I ordered my baggalini Messenger Bag tonight! YAY! Just hoping it gets here in time for my vacation next week. We're going to the beach with my parents -- yes, the gulf, where we vacationed all during my childhood, and where I went to college. Yet another disaster to watch....

I've also set up "buys" for 2 Maclaren strollers via craigslist for this week. Public places, safety issues considered, both seem credible, don't think I'll be kidnapped...;)

I think we'll only take one on our beach trip, b/c we are taking car seats too AND b/c DH isn't exactly wild about my plan. He wants to rent 2 strollers from Orlando Strollers when we're down there so we aren't bothering with them through the airport. I've traveled so many times with a stroller via airplane though, I don't think it will phase me. And with 5 adults, we'll have plenty of people to push. We're getting 2 singles rather than a double b/c I'm thinking that there are going to be things that DS4 will be able to do that DS2 won't, so this way we can split up without someone being stuck carrying a kid.

We've already passed on our two strollers b/c the weight limits were 35 and 40 lbs. DS4 is already 40 lbs, and DS2 is almost 30 lbs. And if we have "mandatory" stroller assignments, DS4 will certainly want to ride in the "other one"! :rotfl:

Good strategic stroller planning there!! I wouldn't have thought about getting 2 in case you wanted to split up! :thumbsup2

Good strategic stroller planning there!! I wouldn't have thought about getting 2 in case you wanted to split up! :thumbsup2

Thanks! I think I read about someone doing that - maybe on this board?

Both the buys were thankfully uneventful. The first stroller, the newer/more expensive one, I got for less than they originally asked b/c she felt bad she kept me waiting 20 minutes. No big deal waiting for me, but I didn't argue when she said "oh, just give me $80"!! ($250 stroller :thumbsup2)

DH still thinks I'm a little crazy. He just doesn't have the VISION :confused3

Now I have to decide whether to take one or both strollers on our beach trip next week. We have to take 2 car seats on this trip, so that's a LOT to haul from/to the cars at the airports.
Maybe I should buy a double stroller too... :rotfl2:

BTW, I'm completely immersed in Disney right now. A few months ago, I DVR'd a couple Travel Channel Disney shows. My youngest is OBSESSED and asks to watch them every day. Watching one right now!

I had to adjust our itinerary to nix the late night/early morning combo because it would be too hard on all of us, but especially DD.

I am debating on renting a stroller...but we are driving so there is no excuse other than I don't want to mess with it. We would rent from Orlando Stroller Rentals though not Disney (not sure which you are thinking). I think the idea of having two single strollers makes sense! :goodvibes:

I have been thinking of you all, but haven't found the time to post. I've also needed time to process some new life changes!

Over Memorial Day weekend, we got to go on a fabulous vacation with my parents down to the Gulf. No oil at all! It was such a fun time, and also good "practice" for some of our Disney plans (although DH would roll his eyes big-time at the thought of that!)

BUT NOW, I'm going to start researching some slight alterations in our Disney plans. Not b/c of the trip, but b/c right after we returned home, I found out that our little family of 4 will become a family of 5!!! :scared1: Still very early - no doctor's appt yet - but the test took about 1 second to show the + and I"m having all the good ol' symptoms  and ready to move on to 2nd trimester.

This was totally unplanned at this time, but we're really :cloud9: about it. Despite the fact that we'll end up in the poorhouse... especially if it's a girl. We were :rotfl2: when we found out - I had just a month before driven all our baby stuff down to my sister. She wants to give it all back, but with a 3rd kid, I feel like our needs are much different. I know what I want to use, and I don't need all those types of baby carriers, for instance. So I'm happy that she can still keep most of the stuff ( we do need the crib!) and I'll play at some yard sales this summer! And she's due early Sept; I'm not due until late Jan/early Feb.

THankfully, I'll be in my 2nd trimester during our Disney trip. I've had 2 blessedly normal and comfortable pregnancies before this one, so I'm hoping this will be similar. I'll have a big ol' belly, but won't be feeling terrible. I'll be taking naps with the boys more than I planned, though! And I won't be losing weight before the trip...but I won't mind being big :)
And I have to go through my books and sites again to see what rides I can't go on :( That's the only bummer. THat, and not doing some late-night out drinks with DH.

I'd love to hear from any of you who have done Disney preggo!!

OH! and thanks to those who have joined in, despite my absence. I'll hopefully get some energy to stay awake and post at night again soon

And I do have a funny stroller story from our beach trip - I'll post later :thumbsup2

I have barely been on this computer at all the past several weeks! I've been so sick  , like, 24/7. THis little baby is kicking my butt! I"m about 12 1/2 weeks now, so I hope it will start to get better. In any case, it's all for a good cause

I really appreciate the gentle nudge to get back on here. It's sweet to know that my absence was noticed :grouphug:

I haven't revamped any Disney plans yet to accomodate for my "condition" - except to think about more rest time for me, and less awesome roller coasters that I was soooo looking forward to :sad2: (that's the selfish-me taking control, when I whine about that).

But we're all excited to have broken through the two-month mark!

I pledge that I will spend some time catching up on folks' PTRs here :goodvibes

Ok, everyone! I'm baaack :cool1: Oddly, thanks to some "lite" bedrest, I've had lots of lay-around time to catch up on others' PTRs and browse through other threads on the DISboards. Thankfully, the preggo-scare passed quickly, and mom and fetus are okay :thumbsup2 so I got to enjoy my lazy time away from work!

I'm trying the touring plans from the Unofficial Guide, and since I still like our schedule of parks, I've customized their pre-done Touring Plans to fit our days/parks.

I'm going to attempt to post the links to each day, and some days are divided into "morning" and "afternoon". It may be a huge pain to view these, but I'd love feedback.

I really want to pretty-up my Excel chart for a better "at a glance", but that program has gone caput on my desktop computer :sad2:

The first few days of the plans cram in very specific attractions, then the last full day leaves time to return to faves or hit the attractions that we didn't have time for on the first days. This applies really just to MK and Epcot; We're just spending a 1/2 day each at HS and AK.

Let me know what you think (if it's not too much trouble :))

The plans look great, Sarah! I have a subscription - but it didn't actually ask me to log in. The only day I might take a second look at is the arrival day. I think by the time you get to the resort, get checked in, and get yourself over to MK, you'll probably only have about 2 hours before you need to leave for your dinner at CM. You probably won't have time for as much as you think.

Thanks for taking the time to look at our plans Rebecca! That's really helpful feedback; I'll plan for us to return to Adventure/FrontierLands later in the visit for whatever we don't get done.

It's difficult not knowing if my oldest is going to be a daredevil or not! He really loves the roller coasters he has ridden before - they're probably equivalent to Goofy's Barnstormer. So his preferences could either add time to our plans or make us speedier. (If DH wants to ride those big ones alone or with his dad, we can just leave them behind! )

And I think I just want to get CB Jamboree over with! My DH remembers it fondly, so he *really* wants to see it. I know it's a lovely "vintage" part of the Disney experience, but ...
Maybe we'll save that one for later in the week when we need some rest-time off our feet. And maybe the boys will love it :goodvibes

Well, thanks to Stephanie (Charlefours), I have my pretty pretty chart made up for our daily itineraries :cool1: I copied hers almost exactly and it looks soooo good! It even got my DH interested :goodvibes

Now, if anyone can tell me how to post an Excel spreadsheet in a message, I can show it to you!

And thanks to Rebecca (Sleepingbooty), I realize I need to get shopping for this trip! :sad2: What a burden. :lmao:

So, I'm now investigating Keenes for the boys' shoes. Kills me since they'll both outgrow the darn things the next month!

I'd love to get myself some new Chaco sandals, but at around $90 a pop, I think I'll be sticking with my old ones. Unless I can track down a sale at our local hiking/outdoor store.

And to complete the shoe wardrobe, I suppose I should ask DH if he wants any new ones... :rolleyes1

I already have my little Baggalini messenger bag and have tried it on a mini-trip. My only issue with it is that the strap loosens so easily as I wear it! I read the same complaint from someone on another thread here, and she said that she used some sort of clip that she had around the house to secure it. I'm thinking of what I have handy, or else I can ask DMIL to sew it tight at the smallest "setting", which is how I like it to fit.

My other realization is that I'll have quite a belly on this trip! I have a maternity bathing suit, and another tankini that will work also.
I'm thinking that sundresses may be my best friends for this trip...
I'm not wearing shorts, that's for sure. I envy women who can actually fit into and look great in those little maternity shorts -
that sure ain't me! :rotfl2:

I do have some flowy maternity palazzo/bermuda-type short pants that I love, so I may try to find a pair in another color.

Any other preggo-clothes suggestions? I think I'll be raiding Old Navy for some dresses that don't make me look too muu-muu-like

So, anything else I buy for this trip better be suuuuper cheap...:rolleyes1

I had priced shoes online last night - all Keens - for me and the kids. I looked for DH too, but he insists that he can tolerate any shoes (he's on his feet allll day and averages 9 miles/day on concrete floors!).

When I went to our local outdoors store, Hallelujah!, they were having a shoe sale :wizard: !!

They had Chaco sandals on sale for 1/3 off, so for some twisted reason that made me feel justified getting myself those along with some Keen Newports! They were sooooo NOT on sale! :rotfl:

But my new Chacos are black with daintier straps than the ones I have now, so they're almost "dressy" sport sandals that I can wear with LOTS.

And the Keens are brown with light aqua trim - soooo cute!!!

I also got the boys a pair each, even though they weren't with me. Hoping they fit, but at $35 each, I didn't want to miss the good deal.

Here are the Chaco sandals I got:

HI! When I was very pregnant in the summer, I had a number of pairs of those fold over, palazzo pants and wore them almost everyday with a different t-shirt! I was always very comfortable. Good luck! :thumbsup2

Hey Sarah! You know what, I would probably go with sundresses if I were pregnant at Disney. I always hated to have anything around my waist.

So you like the Chaco's? I was seriously considering getting some. I tried them on at REI recently and couldn't get the strap thing figured out. Plus, I was worried the straps might rub and cause blisters. Do you find the straps to be a problem? 1/3 off is a fabulous deal - what store was it? Maybe they have that special online....

I just ordered some Keens for the girls, they came in yesteday. I posted about it on my PTR. They are very cute, and I was happy that they fit well - I was kinda guessing about the sizes.

Yes, the more I consider my options, I think that capri-length palazzo pants and sundresses will be my best bets. Glad to hear others have had success with both. I don't like having waistbands under my belly when I'm pregnant; I like soft over-belly or fold-over waistbands. I'm going more and more towards dresses this time around too! I'm willing to embrace my inner earth-mama and go with more granola/hippie-type dresses that I haven't worn since my college days :hippie: :goodvibes

As for the Chacos, I definitely needed a lesson on the straps with my first pair! They've been set at the same fit for several years, and I haven't messed with them. For this pair, I noticed that the box had instructions printed on the inside of the lid - very helpful! I still think I'll have to toy with them a bit to get the best fit.

My green ones have never rubbed or caused any discomfort, even hiking and while wet. The buckles aren't placed anywhere where they can rub, like the old Tevas did for me!

Our local store is called the Trail House in Frederick, MD; not sure what online services they have, though.

I love the kids Keens !!! Glad yours worked too :cool1: Do your girls alternate shoes on trips like this, or will they stay in the same pair the whole time?

I do love how they are more girly looking than Keens, etc...

Well, I guess we all have to pay full price for at least one pair! My "original" ZX2's were definitely not on sale, either :scared1:. But rest assured, they have lasted me ... more than 5 years so far (I think!), with NO sign of wear/tear. :thumbsup2 worth the investment!

I must say, that I do like having the option of the big-toe strap with that style. I usually step on mine (for day-to-day wear) and only use it when I'm hiking or need that extra stability.

Hope you LOVE yours as much as I LOVE mine!! (My DH has some too, BTW) :goodvibes

CONGRATS on your pregnancy. I was 20 weeks pregnant with Zachary when we made our 1st trip to Disney as adults (I hadn't been since age 7 which was before Epcot was built). I skipped all the trill rides but still had a blast! My kids were young enough that it didn't limit us much at all.
I'm considering Keens for my family but balking a bit at the price. I really need to just order them! (I was waiting for my bonus check but that won't be for 2 weeks and then it'll be only a week until the trip!)

Hi! and Thanks :) I had just read that today in your PTR - about you being 20 weeks during one of your trips. I think that's exactly where I'll be during our trip! Good to hear that you still had a fun time (how could anyone not, right?!), even with skipping the biggies. DH is hoping that my oldest will be tall enough, and willing enough, to do a lot of the big rides, but I'm not counting on it. I just want enough time for naptime every day!

The price of the Keens are tough. I could justify them much more for me or DH, since we'll be the same shoe size year from now. But the boys.... they could outgrow theirs by October! I'm just hoping they will be really comfy for them for daily use now, and through the trip.

I can't stand trying to keep up with socks for them, but I'm sure I'll reluctantly bring a tennis shoe back-up (with the dreaded little socks) for each of them

We've hit the 45 day mark!!!!!!

We made the final payment yesterday b/c I was too anxious to wait until the absolute last day

I added our room request for "Not first floor, Not parking lot view, please". [I actually asked the woman to put "please" in there :rotfl: ]

In other clothing news, I went in search of sundresses/capris today (by myself, thanks to my SIL and DH!). No luck with dresses, but I got two short skirts with fold-over waistbands from Old Navy along with 3 tanks and 2 tees. Then at Target I found light blue palazzo capris like my black ones, also fold-over waist.

I got home and changed into those pretty blue capris right away and - d'oh! - saw that they are labeled as "sleepwear". Which means that the black ones I've been wearing around are, too. Much to my MIL's embarrassment if she ever found out, I'm going to keep wearing them!

But once I had made peace with wearing pajamas around in public, I decided to clean the bathroom. What happened next is Case-in-Point why I should not clean, thankyouverymuch.

I finished spraying and scrubbing (much overdue since I've been feeling so crummy and DH has been busting his butt cleaning everything else), then I looked down at my cute comfy new pants, and SPLAT! 5 spots on the front of my right thigh where some bleach-y cleaner got me
Again, it won't stop me from wearing them, but REALLY! I can't believe I was so careless! And I am planning to make a case to DH about someone else scrubbing the bathrooms. ...although he'll just use it to make a case for me to avoid wearing clothes altogether while cleaning... :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Sorry to hear about your new pants. That's something I've done more than once. And its funny you say that about your belly being covered. That was an absolute must for me when I was pregnant! I would have felt exposed otherwise, I think. Also, if you still need things and shop on-line, oldnavy.com might have a lot of things they didn't in their actual store. They also tend to ship really quickly, too.

Joining in! I saw you on my PTR, so I had to come over here too!

First, you SO CAN wear pajama bottoms at Disney! Espeically since you have the pregnancy card ;) - which, by the way - Congrats! That's exciting!!! You'll find that there are few rides that you have to sit out of, there really aren't that many thrill rides at Disney, I think you can even ride Soarin'!!

and we'll take ME to our 2 bedroom at Beach Club Villas (!!!).

You just aren't doing Disney, you are doing it in style! Very nice resort and awesome location. :thumbsup2

September does have very low crowds, so I wouldn't worry too much about doing parks on the "worst day" as UG predicts. Even up to crowd level 6 we've found it easy to tour in.

I couldn't see your plans that you posted the links to, but it sounds like you already have feedback on that. My #1 suggestion is to plan all you want, but also plan that your plans that you spent MONTHS on will completely go out the window. Allow for little things that people want to do - if you make everyone stick to a plan (unless everyone in your group is super Type A!), some people might be a bit upset. Sometimes its in those little moments where you start to "wing it" and not go by The Plan that you find your greatest memories and some awesome magic!

And my final comment - you have a beautiful family! Your boys are adorable!!! Are you going to find out if the new bean is a boy or girl? Or just wait to be surprised?

I was pregnant the whole summer leading up to DD's birth. I loved having skirts. They were comfortable and attractive compared to skirts. Do you have H&M near you? They had nice maternity clothes too for not a lot of money. Gap online was nice when they were having sales. Good luck!!

And thanks for the reminder to go with the flow :)
Once the boys see The World, no telling what they'll be most excited about doing - so I'm prepared to be surprised!

We are hoping to find out gender of this little one the day before we leave for WDW!!! Either way, we're thrilled, and I think we'll reveal the gender to our family during the trip :goodvibes

Oh, wow, did you ever inspire me!! I wish I could figure out how to post the pic :confused3
I think I'll give it one more try later :sad2:

Thanks for the reassurance about wearing skirts. I'm pretty well stocked right now - two short skirts, one long, one sundress, 2 palazzo capris. All with comfy fold-over waists (well, except the dress ). I've used some H&M nursing shirts before, which were great. Unfortunately, there's not one closeby. My long skirt is from Athleta, and I found it as I was browsing Old Navy/Gap websites. Can't believe it fits so well, given that Athleta is for such athletic, sporty, skinny, fit ladies -- NOT me! :rotfl:

My Chacos and/ or Keens look good with all. OH! And, this weekend, my mom GAVE me her Chacos b/c the contour doesn't feel good on her feet anymore. They have cute skinny pink straps, no heel strap, though, but they'll still be great!! :cloud9:

And my DH is going to look at them soon. He saw one pair at a sporting goods store, but was a bit scared of the pricetag! :scared1::laughing:

We are getting SO CLOSE and SO EXCITED!!

Plus, we have such exciting events between now and our Disney trip. In such a short amount of time, too!

First, my sister is due with her first baby in a couple weeks. She lives about 6 hours away from me, and I am planning to drive down the day after the baby comes. It will probably end up being a c-section b/c the baby is stubbornly remaining breach, so we're planning around the scheduled date at the end of August. I can't wait to meet my little neice or nephew AND get an awesome solo road trip! :lovestruc

Then, while I'm at my sister's, DH and the rest of the family will be heading to visit the Georgia cousins for a family birthday celebration. So, it will be an almost full-fledged Disney rehearsal (minus me!). The boys are great airplane travelers already, so I'm not too concerned about that. It's the whole combo of me - the controlling Mom - with my well-meaning in-laws that I really need to prepare for :sad2:

Plus my baby check-up and "big" ultrasound appointments that are scheduled between now and our trip!!!

And given that we're getting so near our trip, today was a rare crafty day at our house
The boys got to decorate the trip folders I put together for them (a very pared-down version of my "master" folder) with stickers.
AND, we did our countdown chain :cool1: !!
It will start tomorrow, tearing off one link each day. I didn't get too fancy, but we did put it in a certain order ( I wrote the actual date on the inside of each link) so that we decorated special links for the Georgia trip and their new cousin's probable arrival date :goodvibes and, of course, the last few days before D Day!! :wizard:

I'm going to get caught up on others' PTRs and TRs tonight and improve my own packing list. Amazing what good ideas I get on these boards!

Right now, I'm reading up on Body Glide... I know it can help with feet, but I'm also wondering about (TMI, sorry!) how it could help with inner thighs... I've seen mixed reviews, but I'm going to try skirts some days and I'm not the slimmest gal :rotfl:.

This is where the chain lives. Not fancy, but keeps links from disappearing early...! And I think it will travel to my MIL's house some, so that they can have fun seeing the boys tear of some links :goodvibes

Here is some of the stuff I've gotten for the boys - to be used on the airplane and/or in line at the parks:

I hit the jackpot at the Target $1 section! The stickerbooks, maze books, "surprise ink" coloring book, and Toy Story straw-cups were great. But my favorites are the little dry-erase spiral pads. Gray will love the alphabet one, and Oliver can draw and scribble. but of course I had to get two of each. And then they had the packs of little mini dry-erase markers! I think they should store ok in a ziploc baggie so I won't lose them (right away).
I also got a good deal at CVS on the Crayola color-magic pads; I have two other packs that include the markers (I think they are Toy Story). The poor guy at CVS drugstore hates to see me coming b/c I "work" their rewards system by doing separate check-outs in one trip (to take advantage of the Extra Rewards bucks).

With all our other travels between now and Disney, I actually get to start doing some "real" packing and prep work! :cool1::cool1:

Since I'm currently too lazy to take pictures of the actual clothes I'm packing, I think I'll find pics of the items online to post. I love getting to rationalize being lazy b/c I'm pregnant! :rotfl2:

I'm terrible about solid-colored (i.e. boring) tops (and apparently bottoms too), so I won't be posting too many of those. I have waaaaay too many solid colored tank tops and tees. But many of the items I'll be taking with me to wear are recent purchases, so I know precisely the brand and that they are still on the store website. So...

These are the "sleep pants" that I may be sporting at the parks :rolleyes1
But at least they aren't black or brown!!!

Finally, a fun dress! ...and this is exactly what I look like in it, too! And the heels in this pic will be PERFECT for Disney walking! :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Now, the boys' clothes aren't very exciting, either. I'll just make sure they each have 4-5 sets of short and tees that can all mix-and-match (have you caught on yet that that is my style? Really simplifies life!)

They'll have some khaki, brown, some plaid shorts, navy. They have an unusual amount of orange tees, so they will match. Less of the color red, for some reason. Their tops will be mostly whites, oranges, greens, blues. No special Disney tees ... Oliver may have a white Cars tee? But I'm sure that may change during the trip -- especially if we can hunt down any sort of Phineas and Ferb tee!!!! I keep hoping they will show up more by the time we're there, but don't think there is much to be found :sad2:

Love looking at your clothes. It's always fun for me to see pics of what others are wearing! I really like the long brown skirt.

I have a hard time getting away from black & brown clothes too. That's mostly what my wardrobe is and I have to talk myself into buying/wearing other colors.

Adorable pictures of the boys - and your clothes! Basics are nice, it certainly makes life easier too, which is helpful when you are prego! ;) Your dress is super cute - it's funny they have the model in a heel. Do pregnant women EVER wear heels?!?? :lmao:

I am really surprised there isn't more Phineas and Ferb stuff out there, I only recall seeing a few shirts in the WS (of all places?!?!) on a previous trip. Hopefully they will start stocking it more!

Thanks! that's one of the funnest parts of people's PTRs, I agree.

Thank you :)
I actually happened across a Phineas and Ferb pj set yesterday at Walmart. They only had 2 left - both size 4! That would work for my youngest, but slightly too small for my oldest. On sale for $5, I had to get them both and try!
I can' t wait to see if more stuff starts showing up!

Whew! I sure am keeping my brain busy, trying to organize my trip this week to meet my new neice/nephew AND our Disney trip coming up right afterwards. Such fun fun trips to plan!!!

I think I'm done with my shopping (dangerous words! ;) ).

Finally found cheap rain ponchos yesterday -- 88 cents per poncho!

How did my bill total $75??!! :confused3
:rotfl:

I also couldn't resist getting some 4x6 self-laminating things to make cards for each day's plans. I figure this could be a fun way to kill time when I'm at my sister's and she's not needing my help with baby.

:rotfl: isn't it funny when we find something we need, and find it cheap, yet our bill ends up being really high?!?! How does that happen?!?! ;):lmao:

Here I am! Almost one week until our trip :cool1::cool1::cool1:

I have been wonderfully lost in baby-world for the past week with my sweet new neice, Greta. :cutie: She is beautiful and perfect of course!

I think that today or tomorrow I'll start a packing area for Disney!! My boys get back from their trip this afternoon, so I may just wash and re-pack most of the clothes they took to Georgia. They have junkier play clothes that they can wear for the next week!

Looking forward to spending some time catching up on other PTRs here too :)

Oh, boy, yes! It was bad with Disney trip shopping, and worse when I went out to "get a couple things" for my sister's baby this past week!

Oh, yes!!! I've been quite wrapped up in Real World packing, working, scurrying around for last minutes things.

It's been especially fun seeing how excited the boys are, now that the trip is more "real" to them!

I feel so prepared and have already been able to be more relaxed, though, thanks to everyone on these boards!!

It's so nice to be relaxed before a vacation! I hope your last day is full of it instead of running around.

Though, I think some running around the day before vacation is unavoidable! :rotfl: There is ALWAYS something!
