View Full Version : "Settle Up" Before Check-Out?
We have $200 Disney Dollars burning a hole in our pockets we received for referring a new member.
I've always used the Express Check-out Option in the past, avoiding the rush at 11:00 AM at the HH. (We enjoy staying in the room until the last possible minute! ) :)
Can I drop by the front desk sometime in the "middle" of my trip and ask to apply my Disney $$ to my "current" tab? That way I could drop in at an "off time," when there's not any lines.
I ask this, because I "assume" they won't let me apply them to my account at check-in. Please correct me if that's not the case!

If they won't allow you to place a credit on your account at check-in (I don't see why they would object), you can certainly apply it later...or just use the Disney dollars to pay for things during your stay. Enjoy!

Thanks, Doc.
I'm looking forward to using our room key for charging this trip. We've never stayed for this many nights before, and I'm looking forward to getting the recap at the end of the trip to see how/where we spent our $$.
I'll let everyone know if they allow me to apply a credit at check-in. Some co-workers and myself sent another co-worker of ours over to DL for a night in December after she found out that her husband had cancer. After we paid for the room, we asked if they could allow us to place a little extra $$ on their tab, for spending money. They wouldn't allow us to do so, but perhaps it was because of the unusual circumstances.
I don't think there's any chance that we won't be able to spend all $200 in the course of a week, so I think I'll give it a try!! :)

I would think once you have established an account at check in you would be able to apply the $$ then. Perhaps they would not allow you to do that for your co-worker because they had not checked in yet. I bet had you called after check-in they could have done something. I know you CAN pay as you go or when ever you feel like it along the way. $200 seems like a lot of money but in Disney ville it will spend quickly. No fear there. LOL! Have fun!

Unless the rules have changed, you can definitely put a credit on your account when you check in. This is how we totally funded our room keys at ASM rather than putting anything on the credit card. Should be real easy to do it.

When we checked into BWV last November we gave our credit card number so we could have room charging priveleges, but also put $500 in disney dollars in our account. Every time we used our room charge it was applied against the $500. We could have used the disney dollars to pay for things thruout Disney but using the room card is so much easier, plus like the above poster said, it gives you an itemized list of expenses at the end of your stay. It's interesting to see where all the money goes (character meals!). Btw, we ended up charging more than $500 to our room, but simply let the excess go on our credit card.
